Something felt ... wrong.

That was the first thing Yildirim noticed when he woke up. There was an itch he couldn't scratch, something he couldn't quite grasp, and it felt like it was sitting somewhere between his ears. Something wasn't right here. He didn't like it.

Yildirim's first instinct was to get up and look for something that might resolve the itch. Maybe if he could figure out what was creeping, he could calm the itch down and take a deep breath. Nothing seemed strange about this room, though. Except for the fact that it was white. Very white. As a War Horseman with an inclination towards colour, Yildirim certainly wished for a better scheme, though at least it wasn't the dreary doom that Death came up with.

He wandered over to the window, first. The javelin was ignored--he was of War himself, after all, and it wasn't the first time that a javelin was through a window. He did note the street was oddly abandoned. That was ... strange. Why was it so quiet?

That didn't make him feel any less on edge.

He scrunched his nose and wandered over to the table, which seemed to have a note on it. He plucked it up.

"A survey?"

Yildirim glanced around the room, as if expecting an explanation for the weirdly empty and white room with a survey in the middle, but he naturally found none. With a groan, he gave up and just filled it out.

Quote:
gaia_star How was Dorothy’s performance?

Fine

gaia_star Would you recommend her to anyone else?

Not really, I don't feel any less frustrated

gaia_star On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being the least, how well would you say your memory rehabilitation process is going?

3 - I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to get me to remember

Yildirim unceremoniously tossed the survey and the paper back on the table, and looked around for more answers that didn't seem to be very forthcoming. He clearly wasn't going to resolve anything standing here. Maybe he should look for some people.

He took a look around and attempted to find someone who might have a clue as to what was happening here.

Mush. Her legs felt kind of like mush, or rather something mushy... she wasn't sure and made sure to keep moving around, her feet clicking in the echoing room. "Hmm?" Her eyes went to the table, feeling a pang in her stomach... was it hunger or uneasiness? Either way, she stared at the paper and tilted her head, grabbing the nearby pen in her fist and tapped it to her chin before scribbling on it.

Me'ah wasn't really sure if that was helpful since the dull ache somewhere in her belly was still nagging at her, but since what she felt that whatever she was looking for couldn't be here. Patting her clothing she felt something like a small, long brick and took out her phone, poking buttons on it, wincing at the theme but she shrugged. If it was on her, it was hers - that was the scavenging way. Taking a last look at the nearby room she wandered off, deeper into the facility.

To say she was preoccupied was an understatement as she almost toppled the Famine Sage over as she sped through the hall. "Oh!" She exclaimed. Clearly they knew more than she did about everything, she could ask something riveting or figure out about the situation... Maybe they could tell her more about Dorothy... Yet none of those things blurted out.

"Where's the cafeteria? Is there something yummy? What's that in your hand? Can I have it?" Her eyes went wide in anticipation, staring up at the taller Famine horseman, but afterwards she was dismissed and she pursed out her lips in annoyance. "Well why am I here then?" She said with a pout. His answer sounded... rehearsed? Was that the word? Me'ah shrugged it off and put her hands behind her head as she marched around the empty halls. "This is boring and there's nothing to take." The young mare muttered to herself, feeling the wings on her back twitch. Feeling there was nothing left to do she shoved her hands in her pockets again, wandering to the exit.

She hoped she'd find something more exciting.

What in the Priestesses' names was going on here?

Dorothy was claiming that he seemed to be missing memories. Considering he wasn't entirely sure how he had gotten there, that seemed like a fair assessment. Nothing felt right either, and that instinctively agitated him. Why was this room so bright?

Za'riah squinted in displeasure.

This room also was barren. He probably wasn't going to find any answers here, he quickly decided. So he gathered his phone--he'd never leave his technology behind, after all--and made his way out of the room. Nothing stopped him, which was good, seeing how he didn't really want to start a fight. He wasn't staying in a useless white room.

While Za'riah didn't really like socializing, he figured his best bet at some answers were talking to some of these Famine Sages. At the very least, maybe they would be able to give him some answers, because he didn't like that he was apparently not remembering things. Or at the least, he wasn't remembering yesterday.

"'ey!"

The Famine Sage didn't seem to like the sudden address, and grumbled out an, "And you are?"

"Za'riah." He knew that at least. When he said that, the Sage seemed all too ready to blow him off, but Za'riah wasn't having that. "Sure. Can I receive some answers here?"

The Sage looked nervous and gave some nonsense excuse about being busy, but Za'riah rolled his eyes and proceeded anyway. "Yes, you all look very busy." He didn't. "What is the memory rehabilitation you keep referring to?"

“It’s the same thing everyone is reporting." Did that sound like what he was asking? "A consistent memory loss of yesterday’s events." Good, he was actually going to explain himself. "Everything else seems on varying levels of spottiness, most likely consistent with whatever happened yesterday. Yes, I have heard the ongoing theory of if nobody remembers how could a day happen, well if you would just stare outside at the giant red crystal, and remember that yes, the day before, it was green."

Why would the crystal change colours like that? "That is strange. Now, why am I here?"

“As far as we know, everyone passed out, though several of us came to a little quicker. Probably the stronger ones. Not to imply you are not strong, but well, the information speaks for itself. If it’s any consolation, there’s plenty of others who woke up before you.”

Za'riah rolled his eyes. "I am so very consoled now. I can tell you have no further useful things to tell me, so feel free to go back to your obvious business."

Rolling his eyes again at the Sage horseman as he grumbled and went back to what was obviously busywork, Za'riah made the decision to proceed to the elevator. There was clearly nothing else useful to find here. Maybe he should head outside...

Punches were returned with love taps back when Rayu could reach. Darjay's arm was his target though considering he was sitting and he didn't feel like getting up chasing people down yet, it was pretty easy to avoid his retaliation. (That did include Liya when her back was turned. Because that was the perfect timing for love taps. But Liya was distracted and boring now anyways. Family things.)

"See I told you they would turn up." he said even though Liya probably couldn't hear him over her own screaming and assumed tackling of her brother. Rayu did grin quietly to himself amused at the scene. "Oh see, Rep, you already got some of the missing ones hunting you down. I think you are right those, just get our s**t back together, count heads, and if we do remember something, deal with it then."

"It's alright," Rou reassured the scareling clinging to the skirts of his robe. He picked them up, giving them a reassuring nuzzle. His hair, which was white, flowed long down his back. His white tail was done up so it wouldn't drag across the floor. His forehead was bare of horns, belying his common status, and if it weren't for the strange, ethereal sash at his waist his robes would be tattered and gray.

He spent most days caring for what was his first scareling, and in between dreaming in his studio, bringing terrible stoneworks to life.

With the incidents yesterday, and the large, loud crowd, what Rou mostly wanted to do was rest. He had been slow exiting, not wanting the scareling to lose track of him or get under anyone's hoof.

Rep was still scanning the crowd carefully for the others and finally had to excuse himself from the group he was standing with, giving them all a grateful nod as he turned and jogged in the direction of the familiar figure and the much smaller familiar figures plural.

"Jian!" he called brightly, disregarding the other horseman's poise to give him a big smooch on one cheek. "You found the kids!" And in spite of his usually surly nature he couldn't hide his absolute relief that more of his family was accounted for.

"Oh I'm so ******** relieved. Have you seen Ace?" he asked, turning to look over the kids one by one, giving Junior's hair a ruffle, giving Maze's shoulder a rough pat and finally picking up Mask with a big grin. "Are you guys all right?" he asked his airborne son. "Did you forget yesterday like everyone else? Don't worry about it, if you ******** did, we'll get our memories back I'm sure."

Very quietly, Tracei made his way over and looped a tiny, slender arm around Ferros'

Tanita was JUST about to press her hand to the elevator button, when she heard a booming voice asking about bars, and cellphones. She turned and studied the large, loud voiced Horseman, before moving towards him, her own phone in her hand. "I can, perhaps, help?" She leaned over and looked at his phone. It certainly seemed small, in comparison to his hand. The Conquest horsewoman considered the situation, then said "I believe if you use this button..." She pressed The Dusk. "It'll tell you about the area? But I am not sure if it lists any nearby bars, specifically. Most of what I have found seems to be vague at best."

She tilts her head, examining what was in the function some, and finally found a directory button. "Ahah! Found it." She prodded it, and then smiled politely up at the tall fellow. "Does this assist you, or can I help you any further?" She had been considering going to her room... She had no idea how long she'd been wearing these clothes and it was making her skin CRAWL, but it would be rude to not assist him further if he needed it. "If not, I think I need to go to my room. I need a shower. And clean clothes. If I don't remember yesterday, I could have been wearing these for over 24 hours. I do not like that thought." She ran her long fingers through her hair, a slightly stressed response, but stopped when her hand bumped her horns.

Jian accepted his greeting kiss with equanimity, his often-severe expression relaxing into a quick smile, one hand lifting to brush his fingers affectionately across Rep's cheek. "They found each other before they went looking for us, of course," he said. "Good teamwork. I haven't seen him yet; I assume you haven't either, if you're asking me."

Maze made a soft growling sound at the pat and ducked under one of Rep's wings to lean on her parent and peer over the wing at her siblings and everyone around them.

"Aw, bees, I really got to check on my guys now, I don't have time for all this stupid stuff, they're probably super worried about me," Bones fretted, checking his phone while rushing across the tile of the entryway.

"He's just trying to get to you," Harrison said, "They're fine. It's probably the blessed priestesses messing around in things they've got no business-" He cleared his throat, correcting himself, "I mean, they probably know what they're doing. Again."

Bones looked emotional. "Edelsquirm just had a whole litter of maggots! They're at a delicate stage! She's going to be devastated if anything happened to them. And what about Mudbile, he doesn't even know he's a father...who's going to teach them to clean the meat off of rotting bones?" He sniffed into his sleeve. "Ahhh, what if...what if everybody doesn't remember me!"

Harrison made a face.

His expression warmed a little, though, spotting the family. His wings uncurled from his sides, flapping a few times.

"Hay," he said simply, over in a few strides, and pulling Jian and Rep over to give them both a tight hug. "The foals okay?"

Xiao Lang

    He was tired.

It felt like it had been a very long day. Or maybe it had just been a very long sleep, one of those sleeps where one laid down to rest and did not actually get a restful night of their body shutting completely down, tossing and turning fitfully, dozing in fits and spells until finally the morning came.

He could have been making a bigger deal out of this than strictly necessary, but regardless, Xiao was tired.

He slouched forward, rubbing a hand across his pale face and blinked around to try and figure out where he was. Beside him, Jinhai made a little sound of exasperation; Xiao's golden eyes cut to his assistant and then to the people around him, Xiao making his way across the crowd.

His shoulder bumped into someone - a girl - a woman?

    "Pardon me," said Xiao politely.

His body was aching, and it wasn't the at least solid, confirming ache of a training session well done or a battle well fought--and survived. Gritting his teeth, Nadir opened his eyes slowly, peering around the room slowly. The extremely Spartan room. No, even that was generous. It was barren, a sterile expanse that added to the uncomfortable itch in his head. The urge to stay alert that made his muscles stiff and shoulders roll.

Every instinct was to move and find out why. Seek, remove obstacles, learn, comprehend, eliminate what was necessary. Just staying there did not accomplish this. He got up, joints popping and muscles stretching uncomfortably. He'd need to do some stretching and training. Something was feeling off. His wings ruffled briefly before settling back into place, feet taking him warily towards the window. A light snort lifted from his nose as he eyed the javelin. Not an unusual thing to see for someone from the War clan, though he was more curious that the glass wasn't shattered or fractured around the weapon. Looking beyond it, he frowned a bit at the rain and shops below. Things seemed... normal? Though the fact the street was so abandoned prickled his skin.

Turning back, he noticed something atop a table, brow furrowing as he approached. The table itself was crafted well, it seemed a shame to just see it... here. But he focused on the... survey? That made him snort. Giving a small, almost bored--slightly helpless, the hell was even going on?--shrug he picked up a pen and answered quickly.

How was Dorothy’s performance?

Decent

Would you recommend her to anyone else?

Unsure. Possibly for a partial memory recovery.

On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being the least, how well would you say your memory rehabilitation process is going?

4 - feeling alright, however still unsure what is going on.

He let out a breath as he stood up, noting others were around but not sure he wanted to linger any longer. He shook his head, slight curls of his blond hair bouncing a little around his vision. He'd do better learning elsewhere in the tower to figure out what was going on, he figured, heavy steps echoing slightly as he made his way towards the exit. His hand reached to check a pouch sewn into the skins wrapped around his hips, a reflex he didn't realize he had, fingers pressing against the phone there. Cell phone..? He knew he had it, and there were apps on there to check, though why he knew this made his nerves bristle again.

Grumling, mood souring, he wasn't as polite as he should have been when he spotted one of the Famine sages. "Hold a moment, I've questions for you." He spoke with more of a snarl and bite than was due, walking briskly to the one he'd singled out. The disinterested glance was unsurprising, though he did lift a brow to see them look down at their chart. Did it even have anything of importance on it?

"And you are"?

"Nadir," he answered without hesitation, and the sage's response was still as dismissive as anything else given thus far. "I said hold, I'm not done yet." As if he'd the room and authority to demand anything. "What's been going on here? Why was a memory rehabilitation method necessary, and not a complete restoration?"

The Famine sage seemed less inclined to answer that, almost uneasy itself as it tried to skip through with an excuse on being busy, and Nadir took a step closer to the sage, gaze narrowing as his lips started to curl. Finally the Famine sage spoke, stating that some event occurred the day before, resulting in memory loss across the board, though to varying degrees. Nadir frowned, focusing more as the sage spoke. Connected to how the giant crystal was now red instead of green.

"And we were here because?"

A place to store people as they were put through the process. They woke up at different times. Some who were stronger woke up sooner. His snarl was all he gave as an answer to that.

"Thank you for your time," he gritted out, shaking his head as he turned away to finally fully leave the area, stepping into the elevator once it arrived after he called it. He still had his room key card, there in his pouch next to his cell--why?--and he hit a button at random, knowing at least he wanted to head to the Conquest levels. Surely someone there with their focus on tactics might have an idea or a thought? At the very least, the water might sooth his tension a bit before he focused on training to really relieve the energy.
