Vega was excited, to say the least. If this festival was anything like the haunted hallows, then he was going to get all sorts of neat STUFF! As soon as he entered the fair grounds, holding the hand of his current escort, Nashira, rewarded with booths and shops and games of all kinds. He pulled on Nashira's hand and they walked over to a booth where Vega acquired a super soft plush.
Nashira:
Nashira didn't mind the festivals. She actually enjoyed them. However, she was escorting around a freshling today. Vega was excited, as it seemed all the younger students were. At least she only had one to look out for. But he instantly started pulling her around, wanting to look at everything. They stopped first at a little booth where the kirin was given a plushie, and Nashira found a pair of cute bell earrings.
Charon:
Please don't let there be rocks. Please don't let there be rocks. Please don't let-
Charon was chanting to himself as he walked about the fair grounds, hoping that no one would be giving him rocks like at the haunted hallows festival. So far so good. Somehow while he wasn't looking, someone hooked some candy onto his tail. What the...?
Meadow:
This should be GREAT! This holiday was all about getting STUFF right? He was totally going to get more stuff then Aurellia, for SURE! And right off the bat, he was given a little present that had a glowing lightbulb necklace in it. SCORE!
Keahi:
Keahi wasn't sure how they found themselves at another festival. Really they didn't want to be here, but ended up going anyways. Keahi was walking around with a couple older students, staring at everything. While ignoring their caretakers, someone handed Keahi a plushie.
Kingston:
Kingston loved this time of year. Hot cider, tasty baked goodies... what wasn't to love? He was walking with a pair of freshlings today, Clover and Fiona, showing them around and making sure they wouldn't get lost. He got a pair of antlers to try and make the kids laugh.
Fiona:
Fiona wasn't totally sure what to do with herself at this festival. She would have rather been walking around with her siblings... but oh well. You can't have everything. At least Kingston and Clover seemed nice enough. Clover was a little weird though... As she was pondering this, Kingston seemed to have gotten her a plushie, which snapped her out of her thoughts and she smiled brightly, hugging the plush.
Clover:
Clover wasn't enjoying the party much. She didn't really want to be here. It was cold and it was crowded. At least she was with someone her own age... She spotted Fiona getting a plushie from Kingston. Before the grimm could give her one too, a wisp bowled right into her, nearly knocking her down. ...This might have been better then any plush!
Parfait:
OH BOY! Another festival! Parfait couldn't WAIT! She was already running around, almost losing Atropos, her guardian for the festival. She had to look at absolutely EVERYTHING! the plushies, the candies, the games, the OH! SHINY! She picked up a bracelet with sparkly snowflakes.
Tien:
So this was a festival? She had heard her classmates getting excited, but Tien hadn't really put much thought into going. But here she was, walking around with a kumiho, Miwako. Tien wasn't sure if her parents were here, or if they were at home with her brother being warm. But she was exploring. And her exploring seemed to pay off as she met a feisty cockatriel. It tried to bite her so she bopped it on the beak and scolded it. It seemed confused that someone had stood up to it, and followed her around after that.
Miwako:
Miwako really did like children. She was having fun with the hybrid Kumiho. The child was getting into everything. While Tien was supposed to be right beside her, Miwako was looking at a shop, and bought a snowglobe. Right as she turned around to show her companion, she saw the child with a familiar. Oh goodness! At least it wasn't biting her...
Thebe:
Thebe wasn't sure he wanted to be here, but here he was. It was crowded here, and it wasn't like his mom was willing to show him and his sister around. He might as well see what he could while he could. He was walking between older students' legs when he spotted a pair of earrings that seemed to have been lost. Welp, they were his now.
Atropos:
It was fun watching Parfait get so interested in everything. She wanted to look at everything so fast, that there were a few times Atropos was sure she'd lost her fellow hollow. But each time, Parfait came running back and grabbed her hand or dress, and tried to get her to hurry up. At least for the moment, Parfait was distracted with a shop, and Atropos got to look around. OH! They had plants here? She could use some more plants in her room. She was buying it, and a fluffbug very nearly made her drop it! And what's more, the familiar wouldn't leave her alone! she decided not to fight it, and let the familiar come with her. It couldn't hurt her plants too much... right?
Sesha:
Sesha was bundled up, but still felt cold as he slithered around the fairgrounds. He liked the decorations and lights, but wished he could see the colors. Oh well. He must have looked down, because another naga handed him a plushie.
Gallius:
Maybe he was too old for this, or maybe he wanted to bring his aunt a peace offering. Whatever the reason, Gallius was at the festival, and he had a pair of plushies in his hands. But as he slithered around, he noticed a hallowed naga hybrid who seemed to be... distracted? Upset? He wasn't sure, so he moved closer and gave him one of the plushies he had.
Apparently it was Melisara's turn to pick the next game, so she picked pin-the-heart-on-the-grump. It was like pin the tail on the donkey, but Solstice themed. Honestly, it was too funny to pass up. Sara won a book that she'd been wanting to read for a couple weeks now, A Solstice Song.
Denidar thought the game was...different. Yes, that was it--it was different. Not what he'd expected. Pretty simple, though. He won a set of green candy canes.
Raniol thought this game was hysterical, or at least the idea was, especially that enormous frown on the grump! He couldn't stop giggling, and by the end, he and Sara were leaning on each other laughing, each one's chortles fueling the other. He got a set of orange candy canes.
Sound Lee was gratified when Aura asked if they could have another round, though he was a little surprised. He'd expected Aura to pick the next game, not linger at the game he'd picked. Oh well. He got a set of green candy canes as part of the deal, so that was nice?
Aurabelle was having success with this game, and why move on to another one when this one is proving so lucky? They won a peppermint lollipop for this round, and they weren't bored yet.
Ebene looked over at Amut and smiled. "Hey, it's okay," she murmured. "How are your parents?" She had declined to see her family for pretty obvious reasons, ones that she knew that Amut's own parents would sympathize with. She'd asked them to keep it a secret that she would be attending the fair today. Now so long as her adopted siblings didn't see her here...
Eh. Ebene turned away from the riddlemaster briefly to take a mug of hot cocoa from a passing vendor.
Amut turned with her and took a mug in the colors of her former house, Enoch. "My parents are doing well. They're at dancing right now. Oh, they wanted me to share some of the cookies with you, so after this, we're visiting my parents house." She grinned. "You don't get a choice in that, by the way. They insisted."
Eidil and Cal ran the obstacle course once again. The result was pretty much the same, though. Eidil once again walked away with a new book. "Shall we check out the bowling?" Cal said.
Eidil nodded. "Sounds like a plan!"
Darryl was finally able to convince his sister to let them move on. He got to pick the next game, and he picked a ring toss game. He wished there weren't so many active games here, but carnival games always catered to the physically active. He'd just have to accept that. He won a vespercat plushie and a bulb necklace on his first go--not bad at all, though not as good as getting a skyfish, which he knew they were giving out.
Verity ended going back with the boys to the catapult game. They'd really enjoyed it, and now they were insisting on teaching her how to play it properly. She did a little better this time, though she still won a book (which was just fine, a book was exactly what she wanted, really!).
Anchriesel managed to convince Nai to move on to another game eventually, but for ducks, they agreed to stick to the same area of the carnival. This time, however, they picked a basketball game where they just had to shoot hoops. It was tricky, but after some practice, Chries was able to win a black boa and another stuffed vespercat.
Sigrin wandered around until xe found a skee ball game to play. It wasn't as crowded as a lot of the other games, which was what attracted Sigrin to it. Xe threw a few balls and won a pair of black earrings. Xe smiled. Xe couldn't wait to mix-and-match their sets!
Naihilus did even better at the basketball than he had at the skee ball. He won a pet! He picked out a flitterrat and sent a text to Kuni. Illudens and Viride need a new friend, he typed.
After a few seconds, his phone pinged back. Agreed.
Nai smiled and slipped the phone back in his pocket. Yes, this rat would be going to Kunibert.
<-- Gifted to Kunibert
Yaviss smiled with relief at Xyla's arrival. She was looking...well, she looked like herself today--perky, excited, a little under dressed for the occasion, but... was she wearing a medical mask over her mouth? Why?
Eh. He couldn't ask her, not in public. "You haven't missed much," he murmured. He waved to get Xeno, Quilo, and Ruka's attention and introduced them and Xyla to each other. Quilo seemed happy to meet another part-Geist, and Yaviss could tell that Xyla's hybrid status was not unappreciated by Nkiruka. She seemed to relax in the other Hallow's presence.
Introductions over, Yaviss threw his last dart to win a bag of bark candy. "So what should we do now?"
Xyla was pleased to meet the others. Quilo seemed like a nice guy--a kindred spirit, perhaps? And likewise Xeno. She couldn't help but notice that Xeno and his little sister both shared something in common with her--both of them were Hallows like her! Why hadn't Yaviss told her that?
Oh, right. He didn't know that. Um, awkward? Oh well. To hide her embarrassment, she threw another dart. To her delight, it won her a fluffbug. She picked out a pale blue one and turned to the others. "Um...I dunno?"
Xeno shrugged. "I think there's a maze nearby--people are saying that there are people inside the maze, and if you answer trivia questions correctly you get a prize?"
Mary was glad to see Xyla was here at last. She threw one last dart to win a book, then turned to the others. "A maze sounds good," she said. "I'm no slouch at trivia myself. I think we could have some fun in there."
Nkiruka hadn't grown up around only one race, although there had been a lot more Demons around her growing up than there had been any other race. And yet...and yet, she still preferred her own race to others. Why was that? Well, the simple answer was that she'd met so many nice Geists since her adoption in October. Her dad and everyone in his band were Geists (or part Geist, in Iona's case). Geists already felt like home, like family. So yeah. She liked Geists better than other races.
She wondered briefly if that made her racist.
Oh well. Xyla seemed nice. She was part Geist, and she was Hallowed. Ruka was lucky--she only had one mutation herself. Her brother was a little less lucky, but at least these days with the arrival of Bakeneko, Nagas, and Dryads, his mutations didn't stand out much anymore. But Xyla? Well, she stuck out a lot, what with all those eyes! Maybe it was because the thought of those eyes led Ruka to assume she'd been bullied a lot, but somehow she trusted Xyla more than she trusted the other newcomers. Ruka threw another dart, won a bucket of fake snowballs, and turned to the others. "I like the maze idea," she said. "Let's do that."
Oh fine, a ring toss, whatever. Heru followed her brother and parent along and played the ring toss game. She was pretty successful, mind you--enough to win a stuffed vespercat and a snowglobe depicting two young Nightmares building a snowmare. It was love at first sight.
Queresa continued on with the beanbag toss. It was fun, it was easy, and there wasn't a lot of competition. She won a set of fake antlers that she gladly slipped on her head. Hey, 'twas the season!
Arivan ambled into the room and stopped near the door to gaze around, so much seemed to be happening, and it intrigued the young Nixie. Taking a stocking from the pile they wandered in further into the room avoiding bumping into other students.
Dec 7:
Xris walks into the room not too far behind the short nixie, his hands were in his pockets until he passed the table stacked deep with stockings at which he pulls his left hand out and snags one from the pile in his favorite color.
Dec 7:
Karyn smoothed the fabric of her dress as she walked into the party, she'd never been to one of these and she was interested see what it was like. "Ooooo neat" she coos as she runs her eyes over the crowd. Before venturing further into the room she snagged a stocking happily.
Cuileann decided she needed to take a small break from all the fun and find a nice quiet place to sit and relax a bit to catch her breath. Walking a bit she found a small area with tables and benches set up and she took a seat on the far end where no one was sitting. Her thoughts began to wander as usual about her assignments when a sparkling caught her eye, turning she saw a freshling run past her like a bolt of lightning with a glowy bulb thing about their neck. Curious she got up and followed but soon lost the fast little freshling, sighing she turned to go back when on a table she saw the same glow. She wanted to know what it was and realized it was a necklace and she wanted one, picking one out she put it on and went back to enjoy the festivities.
Realizing he wanted something sweet but hot to drink he walked towards the refreshment area he had seen earlier on his walk around the festival. Looking over he recgonized a few of the students standing there, one was a alum if he recalled right. They were standing in line and off to the side to wait to place their orders. A orange/yellow demon female caught his attention and he politely smiled and said "Hello, enjoying the festival"? he awaited her reply as he stepped up to order a hot drink.
Winding down from a fun filled day, Karayas was suddenly at a loss for energy which for her was odd. She felt like she had spend a year here at the festival, running around playing games and such. She was getting really tired but she wanted to get one more prize before she went. She spied a booth that had snowglobes and she wanted one. Half running over she asked what she had to do to win one, and it was so simple! She had to choose the rubber familiar with the number on the bottom that matched the number on the snowglobes to win one. She was sure she could find one since there was so many. Reaching into the cool water she pulled up a rubber Kedden and the number was 24 which matched one of the snowglobes! She was thrilled as the male handed it to her and she skipped off happily though sleepily towards her dorm to rest for a bit before returning to the festival.
Kayndie was standing off to the side as she had placed her order for a extra sweet hot chocolate with whipped cream and a splash of pumpkin flavor. She noticed a blue Baph male approach and get in line she was sure she knew him from school just was not sure which house he was in or if he was in the university. Smirking at him when he asked if she was enjoying the festival, she nodded. Kayndie was not into the niceties of polite conversation usually as she preferred to be alone or with a freshling which sounded bad when you thought about it. She wanted to adopt one to give it love and attention. Suddenly a warm steam was in the air carrying with it the scent of pumpkin and Kayndie happily reached for the cup and sighed at the first drink. Walking off she said "Yes I am, I assume you are to?" and stopped to await his reply.
Iason was standing in line when he saw the interaction between the Baph male and Demon female, he chuckled. It seemed to him that the male was attempting to flirt with the female and she was not having any of it from the smirk on her face. Enthralled with their interaction he failed to notice it was his turn, when he realized it he turned red. "Im sorry I would like a hot chocolate with vanilla please?" and within a few moments he held a steaming cup in his hands and he slowly walked towards a table to sit and enjoy his drink with some of the candy he still had.
Kalek was amazed at all the sights the festival had to offer. He was standing still, turning in a circle trying to take it all in at once. Dizzy, he fell on his butt and he laughed. He was enjoying himself already and he had not even began his adventure in the festival yet. Spying a small tented area he walked over and there was small animals, he realized they were familiars. He was esctatic, he always wanted one. There were so many to choose from each a different species and color, one separated from the rest and came close to him. It seemed to stop right in front of him and with a twitch of his nose, Kalek knew this was the one for him. He asked the male attendant if he could choose that one and off he went into the festival with his new friend in tow

Anchriesel lined up a few more shots correctly and won a stuffed fox and an orange boa. He turned to see Nai watching him and shrugged. "I have no idea how I'm going to get all these plushies home, either," he said.
Xyla waited until Quilo and Zuna had agreed and grinned. "Ecthellent! Lead the way, pleathe?"
The maze was candy themed, with walls built out of fake candy canes. It gave the feeling of being in either a bizarro-world corn maze or else in a candy cane forest. That was probably the point, actually. The first few questions were quite simple, mostly asking about recent history or old traditions. Xyla's prizes from each were a snowglobe and a stuffed vespercat.
Honestly, Yaviss was a little surprised that Zuna would be willing to go along with this considering her behavior at Haunted Hallows, but then again, the Naiad had surprised Yaviss quite a lot since he'd first met her in October. Certainly her behavior then seemed more like an anomaly than anything else.
Yaviss didn't take a prize at the first question, since it was a tree ornament and he didn't have a tree to decorate. But at the second post, he got a bag of peppermint bark, because, well...peppermint bark!
Mary took a book at the first post but declined a prize at the second one. She was a little disappointed that the questions were so easy so far, but hey, they gave Nkiruka a chance to answer, so why should she complain?
Nkiruka was delighted--she knew the answers to all of the questions so far! She stuffed her new bundle of candy canes into her stocking and looked around. "Where next?" she asked.
Nai snorted. "I guess if it gets really bad, I can help you carry them back," he said. "But if I can't, then I just advise you not to ask freshlings for help." Nai threw the ball carefully and was rewarded with a bundle of candy canes to add to his enormous collection. "I'm just content with being a candy hoarder myself."
Darryl took another throw of the ring around a hoop and once again won a prize--a blue boa. Normally the color blue in their family was reserved for Evelyn so that their parents could tell the difference between everyone's belongings. The problem was that Darryl loved the color blue as dearly as his sister did--and yet, his designated color was purple instead. In this case, Darryl had the perfect excuse to take the blue boa--there was no purple one! Ha-ha!
Heru watched her big brother take the blue boa and look around furtively. She smiled. He was proud to have something blue, wasn't he? How had no one in their family yet figured out that blue was Darryl's favorite color? He only wore blue shirts, and he chose Enoch as his house when everyone else in their family had picked Arkham or Eldritch. How was this difficult?
Heru had a chance to pick another bulb necklace as a prize. As she watched her brother proudly wrap that blue boa around his shoulders, she picked a blue one. She wanted one to represent every member of her family. This one was Darryl.
Verity tried the catapult again, with much the same result. The stuffed rabbit went in the "burrow" and she got a book. Well...it made the boys' eyes light up, so who was she to complain?
Eidil didn't win their first game of bowling, but that was okay--Cal gave her the prize she had won instead. It was another book. Eidil smiled. "I'm going to get all of them this year," she said.
Ebene made a face. "Amut, you didn't tell them all about me, right?" There was a lot of stuff that she didn't want a total stranger to know, after all. She'd told Amut all of that in confidence, darn it! To distract herself, she turned back to the riddlemaster and answered another riddle as she sipped at her cocoa. Her prize was a glowing purple necklace.
Amut shook her head quickly. "No!" she said. "I just...I told them that you didn't want to be with your family because of some family drama that was...well, okay, I told them that it had to do with you being Hallowed, but you know that's a big deal in my family. They already knew that you were Hallowed, because hello, I told them that when they asked me what my roommate's like, so they asked me if your family drama had to do with that because...well, because yeah, Ebene, a lot of Hallowed kids have family drama around the fact that they're Hallowed. So I told them that. But I didn't tell them what the drama was about." She squirmed. "Sorry about that, Ebene. I couldn't help it." Moodily, she answered the next riddle. To her surprise, it was supposed to have been a difficult one. Okay? But hey, at least in reward she got a fluffbug, so...that was nice?
Sigrin tossed another few balls, but xe was starting to get bored. Xe looked around for another game to play and saw some memory card games. Well, that would do! Xe clipped xeir latest prize, a pair of red earrings from the last skee ball tosses, to xeir ears and moved on to the memory cards.
Sound Lee was about ready to move on, but apparently Aura wasn't quite. "How about after the next game?" the Elf said.
Sound Lee nodded. "Alright," he said. The next game netted him a stuffed jackalope and a pretty blue mug full of hot cocoa. He sipped it appreciatively. Mmm....chocolate.
Aurabelle played the last game and won a mug of hot cocoa of their own as well as a stuffed fennekit. They looked around for another game to play and pointed out a blindfold relay. Everyone was in pairs, with one half blindfolded and the other half giving them instructions on how to get through an obstacle course. Aura grinned at Sound Lee and pointed at it. "You want to be the blind one, or shall I?"
Melisara let Deni pick the next game--he hadn't seemed too happy about this one. She followed the boys along to the next game and wasn't too surprised to see that they were back at the obstacle course. "I've gotta beat yer butts this tahm," she said. And indeed she did, though not by enough of a margin to get more prizes than they did. She got a book, which was still very nice.
Queresa's next beanbags earned her a bracelet and a stuffed goat plushie that she just loved.
Denidar ran as fast as he could, but he couldn't quite beat Sara. He did win some candy canes, though, so it wasn't a wasted effort.
Raniol didn't even bother pushing himself to win. He was happy just to get some pink candy canes.
Cuileann was in serious need of a quick nap, her energy was draining and the cool weather was beginning to get to her. Deciding to walk back to her dorm, she started off when she spied a small booth that had a flap on the side, realizing it was to keep the cold and wind at a minimium she walked over and saw little plants. She thought one would go lovely in her small dorm room and was trying to decide which one to try to win. The game itself seemed simple enough, "Silly Salamander" was the game. All you had to do was smack a small lever with a softhammer and hope the toy Salamander lands in the rocks that are floating about on small islands in the middle of the table. (Think the frog game at the carnivals where you have to get a frog in the lily pad that is floating in the water). The attendant gave her 3 toy salamanders and told her to aim for the color rock that the prize was in order to win it. The first one she missed the entire area for the game, the second one she missed by a few inches, the third one landed right in the middle of the rock, the dark green rock. She giggled and clapped her hands as the small plant was handed to her. She knew she needed to get this plant back to her dorm since it was so cold outside so she headed in that direction.
Lokni was wandering about the festival, trying to figure out what he wanted to do next when a small booth caught his eye. There was a table inside that had books on it, and he was curious. He did like to read and he decided to see if any caught his interest. Looking through the selection he found a title that caught his eye, and he pointed to it asking for that and off he went.
Karayas was in her dorm just waking up from a nap and trying to decide if she wanted to return and enjoy the festivites. She rolled over in her bed and drifted back off to sleep. (Not claiming a trinket for her)
Kayndie was enjoying the hot drink she got when she decided she wanted something sweet to go with it, remembering where the candy booth was she walked off with her drink and headed off to get her candy!
Iason was thoroughly enjoying his drink and sweets, but he was almost out of both. Making a quick decision he wanted another drink so he got up and walked over to the line which now only had 2 others waiting. Did not take long for his turn and he again asked for his favorite drink and within seconds was handed another steaming hot cup. Grinning he walked over and sat back down to continue eating his candy and drink his hot chocolate with vanilla.
Kalek was in festival overload, he never attended one before and was quite unsure of what to do, where to go and how the games worked. Shrugging to himself and slowly petting his new familiar, he walked off towards the biggest tent he could see intrigued to find out what was inside. The sounds, sights and smells drew him in all directions as he walked, he wanted something sweet so he looked around until he found a small candy cart and saw some yummy treats hanging from it. Skipping over, he waited his turn and asked for a bag of Peppermint Bark.

Eidil nodded. "Hey, it's the perfect season for reading lots of books, right?"
She won another book on the next round.
Sound Lee waited for Aura to make a decision, but before he could turn aside to play the fishing game while he waited, someone handed him a bucket of fake snowballs. "Here, you look like you'd like this more than I would. Happy Solstice!" they said.
Aurabelle made good on their promise and lead the way to a duck matching game. They were successful enough to win a stuffed cat and a snowglobe representing the school.
Anchriesel nodded. "Nothing wrong with hoarding candy canes. So long as you aren't diabetic." His next two hoops earned him a stuffed cat and a silver boa.
Naihilus nodded. "I'll worry about that if I have to." He won peppermint bark on his next throw. "Want to keep playing, or should we move on to something else?
