The result of the commotion in the ivory hall, he assumed, though he could only wonder at what that could be. A familiar face stood out to him in the foyer, this time not quite the baby she had been the last time he'd seen her. And against his better judgment, he went to Sunny with a careful smile on his face. "Hey Sunny," he said, wondering if she might have answers to the million questions running through his head. "I met a baby version of you in the library. You called me papa."

Shun shot a glare towards Jack. The photographer came in late, so he missed most of the ordeal.
"For the record, it was not me who first engaged Spinel," he stated, glancing over at Chel, "Second, that masked s**t looking like Thorne was ordered to practically torture one of the unmasked kids openly. Pretty certain he broke his hands. I tried to talk Spinel out of it first, but she sent one of her other dogs to force an apology out of me."
He folded his arms, looking over the others in the room. Things could have gone better, but he didn't regret stepping up. Or the fact that he refused to yield.

The throng of people all around had been getting a bit much for Isobel, so she slipped away to find somewhere quieter. The scarlet foyer was, well, still occupied but by people who she'd seen out at the gates, listening to the cats like herself. That meant other humans, right? That explanation seemed to be the most plausible to her.
And if it wasn't true, well, she wouldn't mind pretending for a little bit. All the otherbeings were amazing but also a tad bit overwhelming; and ever present, the looming threat of murder didn't help. She just needed... a drink? Yes, that'd do. Slinking over to the far wall, she filled an empty cup with golden wine, taking a sniff of it before finding a place near the presumed other humans in here.
A few sips of the wine revealed that it was lovely, and the ensuing giggle a few minutes later revealed that Tibbie was not a regular drinker at all.

Just doing it.The Eldritch Gentleman accepted the bird from Alois, holding it tightly in his hand - then, with a flick of the wrist, he broke its neck and slipped the entire thing beneath his mask. A moment later, he daintily picked a wing feather from between his teeth and handed it back to Alois. "D̢i͏d́ ̕you͟ ͝k̢now," he said, "That͝ ҉the word͜ bu͞d̢gęrigąr ̸cómes̀ fr͢om҉ ̴an ̡Áu̢stra̶l̴i҉an w͜o͠rd me̕an͠i̶ng͜ ̛ goo͘d f͢o͝o̶d? Q̨uit̨e th̕e ḑeli̡c͡a͠cy." He casts a glance across the room, indicating the girl with the bird's nest in her hair. Though she was masked, he seemed gravely concerned. [25/25 | LEILA]: dipping in briefly while doing a favor; also ruining the floor
Leila popped up in the Scarlet Foyer just in time to see the man she was looking for calmly eat a live bird like it was a bonbon. This shocked her enough that her mass magically ramped upward, sending her crashing halfway through the floor. She ended up passing along the burning man's words of caution she'd been given as she was helped out of the occupational hazard she'd just made in the Foyer, which led to some details being lost in the noise of floorboards shifting and settling.
Once she had her feet on solid ground again, she made a quick and very embarrassed exit from the room.

"I was the one that went for Spinel," she said from the couch. She would have rolled her eyes were they not closed. "She was the one callin' shots. Felt smart at the time."
Because she was very hurt and a little bit sour about the entire endeavor Chel called out, "Least we had a great safety net."
Then she turned over on the couch and faced herself towards the cushions.

[ Temperance maskless: 25/25 being generally useless] She'd heard it whispered from mouth to mouth to meet up and so, not having any other direction, she'd gone. She recognized Shun, Connor, and a scare few others, including her... high school ex. Weird. Or at least she thought it was him. Temperance guessed it was a night for the past to come bit her in the a**. She clung to the wall for a bit, trying to see who was who and what was ******** what in this fairy ball video game hell. Of course, she couldn't just lurk when it looked like someone was hurt. Tentatively, she wandered to the couch, her mask swinging from one hand. "Are you hurt? Where?"

"M'fine dude," she said with a wave of her hand. It was true in appearance at least; Chel hadn't taken a single punch or had a knife wound to speak of. She looked just as untouched now as she did before she'd tackled the lady.
"Just tired, like everyone else." Tired, and unfortunately for Temp, feeling somewhat guarded thanks to the Spinel Lady revealing more than she'd have liked.

[ Temperance maskless: 25/25 frown frown] "Well, you look terrible," she said bluntly and immediately felt bad for being so blunt. "But I g-guess if you say so... Even though your complexion." If Temperance had possessed laser eyes, Chel would be sporting two smoking spots on her shoulder blades. She could not, however, force treatment on anyone who either did not seem to want it and who she wasn't sure needed it. If she was sure they needed it, well, force was sometimes necessary. Finally, she exhaled loudly. "I'm a nurse-" Sort of. "-so if you need anything like... even, a caffeine pill or something to make it through the night." More staring, more laser holes, but she backed off a bit, sitting down at a nearby table. The weird foodie guy was here and so was a hole in the floor.

Chel sighed and turned over, at least looking Temperance straight on. Even with her guarded behavior she shattered immediately when someone sounded like they were genuinely trying to help. Chel just couldn't be a burden.
"F'you wanna help, Shun got punched a few times. He prolly needs an ice pack or somethin'." She pointed to the man in question, in case Temp didn't know who Shun was.
It was only then that it clicked that this woman didn't have her mask on. "Uh ... hun, you should put yer mask back on." Sunny had made it sound like taking it off screwed her over for good, but Chel thought it couldn't hurt to try.

Autumn Smith 25/25, hanging in the corner "If any of you have serious injuries, let me know," Autumn called, holding up the ragged torn-bottom of her dress. It counted as a bandage, by whatever magical rules were at play here. Worked for her. Autumn sighed out her nose, still leaning out the wall.
"I can get rid of the painful s**t, so now's as good of a time as any to heal up. I have the unpleasant feeling we're gonna be going a few more rounds with that b***h." b***h was spat unpleasantly from her tongue, a bitter-tasting word in Autumn's throat. Making a show of other people wasn't really her shindig. Nor was owning people.
After that, she fell silent, waiting for anyone who needed her healing.Anybody I Guess Feel free to come get healed up if you have nasty wounds.

As Temperance came in, Shun just lowly grunted while Chel pointed him out as the one that got smacked around.
"I am fine," he grumbled, pausing once he actually looked at the nurse, "...Where is your mask?"
He looked up as he heard the clock strike 10, furrowing his brow in thought.
"We do not have much time left. The deer triplets should be choosing the 7th person on the tithe-selection council soon, I suppose... We need a plan."
Autumn also had a point that Melany would likely be an issue again before too long.

There was a moment's hesitation in Shun's body language as he took this in.
"...Damn that woman," he hissed, "Figures she would spew lies. She was the one who told me as such. She also said the other six are herself, the Burning Man, the eldritch gentleman, Aodelle, the Sorrowful One, and... the Enemy. This list may not be all that accurate now, though."
He closed his eyes, thinking.
"Just about anything we have been told could be a lie as well."
