Melvin felt around a moment and slowly started to feel a line that nudged against his sneaker. A line of the tiles. Following this, he managed to somehow avoid the other tiles and walked deep into the room, past other glowing tiles.
Lawrence stepped into the dark with a sigh, fully expecting horrible things to lurk out in the dark. He could hear the others but he had no idea where they actually were.
Terry was a ridiculous name for a hedgehog and he was considering this still as he went, along with how nice Harrison's a** had been and how it had entirely been worth the risk.
"Glowing tiles." he said with a lazy sigh. It all sounded like someone else's problem and a problem other people were busy solving. "Where are you Melvin? Rodney?" he said.

Rep on the other hand was still in a grim mood but could see almost every single part of the large room. He had no idea why people seemed to be wandering around as if they couldn't see properly.
"....are you guys all right?" he asked. "Except the Lawrence guy, I don't care if he's ok."

"Yep, doing just fine," Harrison said, sliding cautiously sideways.
"Right here," Rodney said softly, holding Terry and on the same tile as Lawrence. "I'm alright," he repeated, minimally louder for Rep.

Rep wanted to get away from creep and bible as quickly as he could if he was honest. "Great, I'm glad you are both fine."
He moved away from them.

Lawrence was glad to see Rodney, or at least hear him. He was relying mostly on smell in the dark and ended up leaning in a little too close as he sought out the other man's voice, nudging his cheek with his nose before apologetically backing up. "Sorry." he said, holding up his hand apologetically.
"You still have the...hedgehog don't you." he said warily. It had been really quite ferocious.
Rather than staying next to the other man where he wanted to be and seeking any sort of comfort, he moved away, because quite frankly after so many years as a vet, he didn't trust animals as far as he could throw them.

"It's...alright. Terry," Rodney said, "Yes."
He turned pink at the close contact in the dark, but only Rep would have been able to see it. Terry licked his own snout, but made no attempt to get down.
"You think I should let him go? I was going to wait until after the mission. In case he um, tried to attack again."

"Terry then." he corrected, "I almost forgot you had named it already." He shook his head with just a hint of exasperation.
"I think you should research the appropriate care of exotic animals before taking one on." he said in what seemed like a lecture he had given innumerable times. "Exotic creatures can have unforseen costs, needs and potential hazards in the form of getting bitten or attacked. Can you provide an adequate space to play and enrichment for behaviours. Are you ready for a pet hedgehog guardian is the question you need to ask yourself."
"If the answer is no perhaps you should return him to where he came from. When he's not a danger to us." Drowning was possibly an option also, but he didn't put that forward.
"But as always, everything you do is down to you." Mostly he was just bitter about the creature in the way of his conversations and talking about himself.
