AftermathAs tied in from here.Quote: The information I've learned about us is this: we, the Moonwalkers, are the ones who hold back the dark. We are the ones who are expected to keep the Otherworld from leaking into this one. In the past, the change was treated like a disease, but once it was put under control, the Moonwalkers made themselves protectors. It's up to us to protect those who aren't touched by that place.

We Need To Talk"Don't worry, we'll start simple, and probably keep it that way. Most of us can't really fingerspell while shifted, anyway. You remember how the Prideful One returned my hello? That's an easy one..." She demonstrated the sign for him: a short wave that started with the dominant hand against the side of the head. "You could manage this one as a hare, right?" saedusk hlkkgkh i'd posted this in the WRONG THREAD lmao OTL

We Need to TalkTo be fair, a lot of what had happened that night in Other Ashdown was a blur, but Jamie vaguely remembered the Prideful One speaking to Eve directly. That must've been why. He'd been too busy staring up at the impressive and intimidating creature to notice the gesture.
"I think I should be able to..." he agreed as he mimicked her, right hand raised. "Like this?" When he followed through, there was obvious hesitation. Jamie didn't want to get it wrong.

Strawberry MoonLily arrived at the appointed meeting spot almost an hour early and made herself cozy in a nearby tree. The need to climb had gotten so bad in the last day or so that she couldn't feel like herself if she wasn't somewhere off the ground and Lily had found it much easier to just give in to the impulse instead of fighting it off to be normal. She didn't carry a backpack this time, just her cellphone, and she thumbed through her contacts as she waited silently for the others. For a moment, she considered taking a tree selfie, but her snapchat was already overloaded with her climbing exploits, so for now she let it be. She thumbed over to the group chat, staring blankly at the number of the newest packmember. Maybe she should have tried to warn the others about what was about to go down. Maybe she should have just reached out to Ashton privately, so whatever reckoning she'd earned wouldn't have to be in the presence of others. Ah, well. Too late for that now.

Strawberry MoonIt wouldn't be much long after Lily's arrival that Lucas pulled up with Eve in the passenger seat, glancing out the window with mild surprise and back to Eve in silent question. He'd anticipated that he and the matron of their motley crew would have some time to wait for the others, which set off a little warning flag. What young person actually got up that early, willingly, were or otherwise? Hopping out of the truck, he rounded it, lifting his hand in greeting to Lily, his eyes speaking of many sleepless nights. "Padawan," he said to her kindly, before opening Eve's door. "What'll it be while we wait, mãe?" If Eve wanted to be sat down, he would oblige, or retrieve her chair. Either way, they had two to wait for, and the least he could do was try to make sure they were comfortable.

Strawberry MoonLucas was a gracious chaffeur as always, and had quickly developed a trusting relationship with Leila after making the good first impression he had at the First Friday fair. Knowing her wife's confidence in the man helped to temper some of Eve's apprehension about the full moon having come around again. It was good to have the reason for everyone to gather together, but the first transformation had been so difficult for some of them that she worried how stressful it might be to endure a second time. "It was a good idea not to risk the chair the first time," she decided with a trusting grin. "You don't have to carry me around again, though. I can wait in the car until we're ready."
