Vremea couldn't help but giddily smile at the sight of her marker reaching the end of the game. She gazed at the redblood from afar, feeling hope and excitement curl into her pump biscuit. Now, all she needed to do was plan what to say. It had to be something subtle, something she'd remember. Something she'd recognize. A smiled played at the edges of her mouth.

She was ready. She'd still come back to the booth, if only to visit...!

It was only a matter of time. Aandes had prepared for this. Odette was not Regina’s target now. Whether she had tumbled from her spotlight or was just waiting in the wings, Odette was safe until Regina decided otherwise. Everyone’s fate was bound by whether the Queen decided she was tired of playing with them or not. And Aandes, having realized this many moons ago during his darkest hours, was not willing to stop playing. After all, his life depended on it. Aandes took her hand and gave it a level shake, smiling right back.

“Of course! You’re welcome to step back here with me, if you’d like.” He gestured to the secluded rest area behind the booth as every ounce of his energy poured into keeping his hands from shaking. His moves were staged naturally, his mind working a mile a minute to lower his arms gracefully, put a hand in his pocket without making it seem like he was drying his now sweating palm on his pants. He’d be more comfortable once they were alone, and she dropped whatever leverage or friendly threats on him. He could handle that. The ambiguity was torturous. There were too many possibilities, and they all flashed in front of his vision as the worst case scenario. Frankly, her running him through in private was one of the better ones.

Aandes casually brushed his hand against his jaw to make sure he was still smiling. He was. Good.

Fellah had already won the game once over, but he was still left wondering what little gaps were left in Odette's story. He decided to start again from start to see what else he could glean from the game.

Caiden cried at the part where Odette's lusus died. He hugged CamoDad and the reptile hugged him back. "Dont worry Caiden, Im not going anywhere for a long while"

"Thaaaaanks!" As soon as Aandes was free of the booth, Regina debated throwing a hand over his shoulder. Unfortunately the height difference between them made her reconsider, and instead she just gave the tealblood a friendly slap on the back. As they passed behind the booth and Aandes looked away, rubbing his jaw, she turned and shot a wink at Odette. Hey there useful face, save some of that use up for me.

Smoothly turning back to LaMode, she leaned in and spoke in a voice that was lower than her usual confident and slightly too-loud tone. "You're a pal. Anyway, I just want to stop by - well - for two reasons. The first is I'd like to apologize for the little trouble there was here earlier. I mean, I know there won't be anything made of it, 'cause you can get where my good pal was coming from." There was no need to elaborate, she hadn't heard reports of any other troll drawing their weapon at the talent agency's booth.

"I'm sure it'd be a shock to anyone, seeing someone who was a wanted criminal preening away, bold as brass, in the middle of my festival. I mean, it's the price you gotta pay for such a quick, quiet, smooth transition from hunted to heroine, am I right? Not everyone keeps updated on who's coming outta the rehab facility - or getting their papers processed by their official handler. It's enough to make anyone's head twirl." Leaning farther forwards, she gave the tealblood's arm a friendly squeeze, her smile widening as she waited for his response.

The two were thankfully isolated now, away from the public eye. Aandes was vaguely conscious of Regina behind him as he steadied himself, letting his “customer service” smile drop into his “dutiful, understanding royalist” smile when they were alone.

“Thank you, but it’s honestly no trouble. I served with Commander Vidari during the recent events – I completely understand his point of view. I’m just glad we resolved things peacefully.” He nodded solemnly. Plus, he thought, no matter what Aandes supposedly thought of the situation, the tabloids would have quite a different opinion. It was out of his hands. He crossed his hands over his chest and sighed.

“You’re absolutely right. I didn’t expect Odette to just pop back into society without backlash, of course. Dr. Resmem and I have made a close agreement to make sure she’s kept under watch – and frankly I’m amazed that the spotlight has picked her up so quickly! She certainly is under the microscope now in the public eye.” Aandes was still gauging Regina’s tactics. He kept any fabricated opinions or false realities of the situation under lockdown until she was closer to revealing her hand. Then he’d know when to play along. For now, simple objective truths would parry her friendly veiled inquiries.

As he felt her squeeze his arm he felt his throat tighten. He smiled in response.

Regina waved a hand in the air, signifying that any possibly bruised feelings had been mended. There would be no trouble over Kursha. As far as she was concerned, Aandes had been given fair warning if he tried to retaliate. There we go Vidari, you're welcome. And now, more importantly, she had an in. Smiling like a shark, she leaped at the last comment.
"Talk about public! Your little girlie's popping up everywhere! A face for the entire spectrum. Beauty, grace, pity. I love it. I love it so much, that I want to get in on it. Reason two, right here. I want Cygnet. I want you too of course - I ain't here to steal."

Letting go of Aandes, the empress fished around in her pocket for a moment before pulling out a folded square of paper and shaking it out, shoved it excitedly into the tealblood's hands.
"You've got an eye for pulling talent out of the most unexpected places. I want a full cast, I want a director. If you think you can do it, you're welcome to try. It'll run for an entire sweep in Civisect, then on the road. It'll also of course be recorded for television broadcast. The script is ready, I can pull a crew together whenever you're ready. No budget limit - advertisements on official military channels. Of course you and Cygnet will get a full pass from military-based activities. You'll be official full-time civilians. And sure it's not what you'd think of first for her - but I figure neither of you want to end up with her gettin' typecast."

Run-Away Nutbeast!
Amidst the festivities, you notice a nutbeast scampering underfoot. It scurries onto the merchandise table and burrows into a t-shirt. Nutbeasts are not an usual sight by any means, but this one is dressed up with a shell-shaped backpack. It looks like it could be somebody’s pet. If you can catch it, maybe the owner will give you a reward!

Rules:
To capture Shelly the nutbeast, all you need to do is quote Green Minuet in this thread. Whoever quotes Green Minuet first succeeds in catching her. Anyone else is considered to have lost her in the scuffle. Once you have caught Shelly, you must post in Lutrin’s booth in order to return her and claim your reward. If you have not returned Shelly by the rollover, she is considered to have escaped! Both capture and return posts may be reserved but must be filled out by 12:00am PST in order to redeem your reward.

Lingering around the star studded booth once again, Fellah noticed a familiar nutbeast scampering around in the merchandise. "Shelly, is that you?" Fellah said, crouching down to trap her between his hands and let her scamper up his arm. Surely that little troll from the other night would be looking for her again.

      Ⅱ Autumn Vikare

Space: 12

As Autumn played through her final two rolls, she felt her pump biscuit flutter at the mention of Vremea. Her game piece was sent back seven spaces, but she hardly noticed. Instead her thoughts remained on the older yellowblood. She knew Odette and Vremea had been moirails back in the swamp, but after Odette's sudden and mysterious departure she had wondered what happened between the two. Obviously the information on the board game was fraudulent. Vremea was the most giving troll Autumn knew; she would never betray someone so important to her. But...

“Come along, Cat,” Autumn said, rising. She dusted down her knees. “We're going.” Palming the grub, she placed him on her shoulder and pulled up her hood. The grim portrayal of the Phoenix Initiative truly left her unsettled.

22 Vremea convinces you in your time of vulnerability and grief that the royalists are the cause of your mother’s demise.

Caiden clapped a hand over his mouth. Treason?! Royalists?! He had kinda heard autumn talking about that sort of thing, the rebels and a base, he didn't know. But this was just scary. Her mom died, and it might have been the fault of someone he even knew. Who was a rebel? Who was a royalist? How could one tell? Were all royalists really bad people?

Zindel hadn't really planned on visiting this booth, but considering how relevant it seemed to his interests, he couldn't help heading over to the booth boosting the attention of a young star, seemingly well known for starting from the very bottom to rise to fame. To the side, even the Queen was there, chatting eagerly with what seemed like the head of the booth, a stylish greenblood with a swazzy hair cut.

The redblood adjusted his scarf around his neck, peering down at the booth information-- He was still unable to read correctly, so he simply moved the little marker and took his time in squinting and sounding out what syllables he could-- She seemed to have lead a life similar to his own, but she was already a star, and he was, well, still rising. He didn't want a signature, no, and the merchandise looked nice enough but nothing really seemed to be his style(though he did eye the lipstick a little longer than necessary). He mostly just wanted to talk to her a bit. Seeing she was currently present in the booth, Zindel walked on over, feeling a lot more comfortable since they shared a bloodcaste. He cleared his throat, unsure. "Ah, uh, hello. Odette.. Cygnet, right?" Zindel started, swallowing a little-- It was then that he noticed she was actually something like a celebrity and he was a mere underground dancer. He opened his mouth, closed it, then rubbed the back of his head, slightly lost. She'd been a rebel, right? Maybe she knew Etsali and Ephias-- But he wasn't going to ask that, that was dumb."Just realized I forgot what I wanted to ask. You've got lots of fancy stuff here, it's kind of conflicting." He blinked, face going a little red as realization sunk in. "No, no, uh-- Uplifting. I mean uplifting." He was sucking pretty bad at this.

Was: Space 33
Now: Finish!

It'd taken some courage to come back here. He was ashamed at the fact he hadn't returned since the incident but Nucleo hadn't been prepared for that kind of thing. Amonee had returned to leave Odette a bouquet of flowers for the both of him and he sincerely hoped that she'd received them. Even if he'd been too pathetic to come back earlier, his admiration for her hadn't wavered and she needed to know her fans had her back!

"You emerge as an inimitable icon through your struggles." Nucleo read aloud. He'd been hoping to see Odette again and have a chance to actually talk with her once more but didn't blame her for not returning after that incident with Kursha. He was content to simply finish the game instead, adding an endnote to it as he finished up.

"The future holds endless opportunities, with your fans behind you every step of the way!" It was sappy but he couldn't help himself.
