Requiem of Whyspers

Fashionable Shapeshifter

PostPosted: Tue Apr 12, 2016 10:46 pm

The Weedle came crashing down upon a nearby Tauros, horn first. In the process, it stuck fast in the bovine's hide, successfully poisoning the bull without even meaning to. "Great....." Trish groaned as she pulled a small length of rope from her bag. "Come on Idina." She said as she wound the rope around the Normal-type's body. "We're gonna have to drag this thing now."

It was clearly in distress now but Weedle's poison was fast acting, leaving it weak in no time. Trish and Idina hauled it slowly but surely to the Pokemon Center and alerted Nurse Joy before returning to the hunt.

A flash of golden scales and a flicker of light caught Trish's attention but when she spun around to see what it was, she simply saw a Hoothoot, the same brown as always, using it's Foresight for an unknown reason. "Stupid bird, getting my hopes up like that...."

Hoothoot flew away in a hurry, leaving what looked to be a nest of eggs empty with one of the eggs broken ."Ew." Trish commented, walking over to look at the eggs. "Poor thing. Dumb bird must have broken it in an attack." She told Idina, who licked her lips hungrily

"Looks delicious, though. Can I eat it?"

"You really want to live up to the stereotype?" Trish asked, waving a hand up and down the length of the Fire-type's body.

"Ex! eg! Cute!" Three separate voices cried out in unison, the sextet of eggs suddenly all moving at once, revealing faces on them all.

"Nevermind! They want to eat us instead!" Idina yelped, rushing away with a startled Trish on her heels.

Exeggcute looked on, confused. It had just wanted to be their friend.

Lynnette would wander the streets, her Snubbull by her side. She couldn't help wondering how the Pokemon of the Safari Zone and the zoo had ended up escaping, but, she wasn't going to actually question anything. But, she was certainly glad to try and help round up whatever Pokemon she could, and of course, possibly catch something of interest for herself. It had been a while, and she was excited at the prospect of adding someone new to her team, especially considering her last addition had attempted to kill her before she caught it. Hopefully whoever she caught wouldn't be quite so life-threatening. In any case, she would wander for a while, keeping an eye out for anyone who might need her help.

Without any sort of warning, a Pinsir would come charging towards Lynnette and her Snubbull. Hook would attempt to shove his trainer out of harm's way, failing miserably simply due to his size, but, Lynnette would make a point of backing up anyways. Hook's Intimidate ability would attempt to kick in as the Snubbull stood his ground, however, the charging Pinsir seemed to take no notice, simply ramming straight into to Hook, and ensnaring him in a Vice Grip almost immediately. The Fairy Pokemon would struggle a bit against the Pinsir's grip, growling a bit at the much larger Pokemon. Lynnette couldn't help but wince as she watched the Pinsir's grip tightening on her Snubbull. She wished that the Stag Beetle Pokemon hadn't been the first Pokemon they came across, but, she had faith that her Snubbull could defend himself.

"Hook, Fire Fang!" the girl would call out. Hook would struggle for a moment before clamping his flaming jaws around one of his opponent's pincers. The Stag Beetle Pokemon would barely feel the actual bite, but, the flames that began to spread across it's pincer would frighten it, causing the Pinsir to toss his opponent away. Hook would land delicately on all fours, growling fiercely for a moment before standing up on his hind legs again, freeing his front paws. The Pinsir would be flailing around wildly, attempting to rid itself of the flames. "Now, since he decided to be so rough to start, I think it's our turn to Play Rough, don't you think?" Lynn would say, smirking a little. The Fairy Pokemon would grin, lunging at his opponent to attack as fiercely as he could. Thanks to being already agitated by the flames, the Pinsir would quickly begin to panic once it realized that it had attacked a Pokemon that was clearly stronger than he looked. Feeling defeated, the Stag Beetle Pokemon would run off in the opposite direction. One pincer still burning intensely.

Hook would let out a snort, crossing his arms over his chest. Lynnette couldn't help but let out a small giggle as she watched her Snubbull. "Way to go, Hook, but, let's see if we can find something a little more our speed, shall we?"

The pair had barely started walking again when they noticed a Paras hiding away in an alley. Hook stared at the Mushroom Pokemon curiously, but, clearly it had been watching the previous battle, as it very quickly slunk away back into the shadows of the alley. Hook would look up to his trainer, giving a small shrug when Lynnette gave him a questioning glance. Oh well, they weren't really planning on picking fights with Pokemon if they didn't need to anyways.

This time, the trainer and Pokemon duo couldn't even take a single step before they were suddenly ambushed.... by a very tiny Rattata. Hook didn't even flinch as the Mouse Pokemon Tackled him. Instead of retaliating, the Snubbull would simply place a paw on the Rattata's forehead. However, apparently that was a bad move to make, since the Mouse Pokemon rose its voice in a bout of chattering. Hook let out a small chuckle, patting the Rattata again before starting to turn away to continue walking with his trainer. Deciding that it had had enough of being treated as though it was unworthy of being battled, the Rattata would garner the energy to rush forward and clamp its jaws down on one of Hook's floppy ears in a Hyper Fang attack. Letting out a yelp, Hook would shake his head, attempting the fling the Mouse Pokemon away, but the Rattata held on tight. Hook sighed, getting annoyed at the fact that his opponents were refusing to let go of him today unless he fought back.

"You're not gonna let a little Rattata take you down, are you Hook?" Lynnette would joke. Hook would growl and retaliate with a Payback attack, sending the Mouse Pokemon flying away. Clearly not knowing when to quit, the Rattata would come racing back, slamming right into Hook's stomach with a Quick Attack. The Snubbull would let out a grunt before using Payback again. Still though, the Rattata wouldn't give up his attack. Rather than attacking again, Hook would simply put one of his paws out, stopping the Rattata in its tracks, giving it a look that could only say 'When are you going to give this up?'. The Mouse Pokemon was breathing heavily, clearly tuckered out after exhausting so much of its energy. Hook would grumble a little, as if trying to explain to the younger Pokemon that it couldn't just keep charging at its opponents until they gave in. Not wanting to listen, the Mouse Pokemon would weakly charge at Hook one last time, not even making it to the Snubbull before simply collapsing on its own.

Lynnette would pick up the fainted Rattata, allowing it to sleep in her arms for a bit as she started to continue walking. "I'll just drop them off with someone. There's no reason to leave them by themselves like this." Hook would nod at his trainer, agreeing. Besides, he had found it rather amusing that the Rattata had wanted so desperately to battle him.

Lynnette was just dropping off the Rattata with someone else when she happened to see the Nidoran female in her peripheral. Hook had seen the other Pokemon as well, and couldn't help feeling nervous, clinging to his trainer's leg. "Don't worry Hook, I don't expect you to fight against any Pokemon that make you nervous. Let's just keep going." The Nidoran would watch the pair walk away, not actually caring, though, they did find it interesting that the Snubbull seemed so intimidated by a little Nidoran such as themselves.

Hook felt something very sharp skim over the top of his head, causing him to tense up for a moment before turning around. Lynnette, who had been walking a little bit ahead of her Snubbull stopped to see where her Pokemon had disappeared, her jaw falling open as she saw the Scyther that was looming intimidatingly over the Fairy Pokemon. Hook, who wasn't easily frightened, seemed to be shaking at the sight of the Scyther. The sight of the Nidoran didn't even compare to this moment. "Hook? Maybe we should just... Get away from the scary looking Scyther?" Lynnette would say, her own voice wavering slightly. The Snubbull would nod, getting down on all fours in an attempt to race away as quickly as he could. The Mantis Pokemon would have none of that however, and decided to surround both trainer and Pokemon with a Double Team. Seeing the Scyther essentially multiplying, Hook ducked down, his eyes shut tight as his paws gripped the top of his head. "You need to calm down Hook, I know this Scyther seems extra scary right now, but, this is a tactic that Kairi and her Scyther use all the time. We just need to figure out which one is the real one and attack it, right?" Lynn would say, her voice sounding rather unsure. The Fairy Pokemon would peek up at his trainer for a moment, clearly not sure that his trainer knew what she was doing.

"Please Hook? Try for me? We're not going to get away from this if you don't..." Hearing the fear in his trainer's voice, the Snubbull stood up again. Although he was still shaking, he looked a little more ready to fight. Rather than trying to determine straight away which Scyther was real, Hook decided to charge through some of the circle with a Headbutt. Scyther after Scyther would disappear as Hook kept charging. Finally, there was only a couple left. The Scythers would laugh, causing Hook to start shaking again. Lynnette, worried about her Pokemon, decided to take it upon herself to determine which of these doubles was actually real. "There! That one! Fire Fang!" Lynnette would call out, pointing straight forward. Hook would continue shaking for a moment, but would leap at the Scyther with a bit of encouragement from his trainer. His jaws flaming up again, the Snubbull would attempt to bit down on the Scyther, only to go straight through it and land on his face. Lynnette would wince as she watched her Snubbull hit the ground. "Sorry Hook..." she would say, her voice trailing off. However, due to the leap of faith, the real Scyther would move away from his doubles, causing the few that were left to disappear. Inching towards the downed Snubbull, the Mantis Pokemon was taken by surprise when the Fairy Pokemon suddenly turned around and lunged, his jaws clamping around one of the Syther's arms. The flames would start burning into the Bud-type's flesh, and the Scyther would let out a yelp of pain, flinging Hook away as quickly as it could before running away.

Hook would struggle to his feet. Unsure if he was going to be able to continue, Lynnette kneeled down next to her companion. "You okay, Hook?" she would ask, trying to make sure the Snubbull wasn't too badly injured. She would let out a sigh when Hook shoved her hand away, crossing his arms over his chest and lifting his chin haughtily. "Alright, alright. I'll stop fussing. Let me know if we need to stop though, okay?" Hook would simply nod in response, leading his trainer towards an alley.

A flock of Hoothoot could be heard in the alleyway. Disinterested in the birds, Lynnette and Hook wouldn't even bother to stop. Besides, they were clearly capable of finding something more interesting than the Owl Pokemon.

A Ledyba would fly across their path as the pair came out of the alley. Lynnette would sigh, clearly getting sick of all the bugs they kept running into. Hook would just shake his head and keep walking, tugging on his trainer's pant leg in an attempt to get her to speed up a little bit.

Up ahead, trainer and Pokemon thought they could see a bit of flame. Clearly they had come full circle, having stumbled across they Pinsir they had already set on fire once. Oh well, time to just keep walking.

Another Ledyba would fly past, and Lynnette had to stifle a yawn as she continued to walk. She hoped she found something a little more interesting soon. She was beginning to get a bit bored.

A Rattata would scurry past, glancing at Hook warily. The Snubbull wouldn't even look at the Mouse Pokemon as it scurried away. Lynnette, however, would watch as the Rattata ran off. "Guess the others paid attention to your little fight, eh?"

Trish would end up running off once again, only after hurling a handful of dirt into a Lickitung's eyes. It had been doing something unspeakable with that slobbery appendage of it's and she was having non of that. Idina couldn't find the words to describe the horror.
