Lily would look at Kara "how did you get in and out so quickly?" she muttered before sighing as she would walk over to the witch, having the sword blade disappear having the handle fall on the ground, only to be picked up "then why dont you explain why we are traitors...since that would have possibly saved your life" her hand seemed to get covered in a small flame "i could cauterize if you explain yourself...but most likely i wont like the answer"

With everything apparently under control. Daniel continued keeping an eye on the plants while Lily kept negotiating with the witch.
Soon Illo joined Daniel to discuss what had happened, himself taking note of how quickly Kara seemed to move whenever her motivation--however secret it might have been--smacked her upside the head like so many a "bad" parent. Apparently there were more important things here which needed to be discussed, and Illo was going to at least try sorting them out--getting the Shibusen team's story straight--before taking the conversation to the witch.
"Daniel... Do you get the feeling this was a little too easy?" That was, of course, if the witch agreed to letting herself be saved. Illo kept an ear out for Kara without looking in her direction.

The witch just glared up at the group, not even acknowledging Lily's offer of assistance. She looked at Kara, then Daniel, Illo, and then Lily."Y-You... don't know... do you...?" she asked before suddenly spitting out a ton of blood. She began closing her eyes then. "Timor.... mortis conturbat me... Est... lupus ovina......" The witch went limp then and after a few more seconds, a crimson colored soul appeared above her body. Kara stared down at the body for a moment before tilting her head "Is that a witch soul?" she asked. Her gaze went to the others then "Also... 'The fear of death confounds me. There is a wolf in sheep's clothing?'... I think that is what she said... what does that mean?" she asked. ◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◈

Lily looked at her "clearly you didn't enlighten us enough with your violent attacking" she said in a sarcastic tone before she would speak up in a language she had no idea in which made her glare at the witch in annoyance seeing as the witch died the moment after having the soul pop out, only to be grabbed by Lily "well i wasn't wrong when i didn't like what i would hear" she sighed as she heard Kara "hmm...the first part...kinda sounds like a witch or demon...that second part...is concerning..." she sighed "my best guess is that the wolf is someone we know...is pretending to be someone there not...thats what that phrase means...but...Witches lie all the time...so i'm not going to worry much on it..." she muttered "in any case...we should head back...we have the witches soul....so if its needed to use the device we have it"

"Works for me. Kara, would you like me to carry it for you?" Asked Daniel, pondering if this was really over. Being honest, while Lily was okay with the witch dying, Daniel on the other hand was worried. Could it be there may be a traitor among them? If he had learned something from this job is that fate tended to change at any given time. "I can't really say it was easy. But rather too quick. It was as if she merely tried to lure us away. The killing intent was really, really low."
And though it might have seemed obvious Kara was the one to be suspected, it could also be said for all the crew. Now it was a game of watching the one next to oneself for signs of slippage. Illo, trusted as he was, watched Daniel to see if he let on anything that told he was growing suspicious of the monk first.
"Indeed..." Then to Kara, "Please don't touch that," referring to the soul. "I am a meister without a partner. I believe the soul will be safe with me until we can find an appropriate home for it. That, and I have all the other luggage..." After that he went to tie up his broom to his burro--with or without the soul--and started off on the way back to the mansion.

Kara glanced over at Illo, puffing her cheeks out"My hands are full and why would I want to touch it anyway. I'm human but I'm not an idiot," she told him, sounding a little annoyed before glancing at Lily and Daniel. "Uh... a wolf in sheep's clothing sounds kinda scary... does that mean the DWMA is in trouble?" she asked, sounding a little nervous at the fact that there could be a kishin or something walking among them. ◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◈

Lily glanced at Illo "what does not having a partner have to do with you being the better choice for holding the soul?" she asked seeing as it was terrible logic "besides...i was the one who did all the work...so i'll hold onto it...if you want a say in the matter...actually do something in the fight" she told him sighing before looking at Kara "like i said dont worry about it...witches lie all the time...besides if i remember correctly the DWMA doesnt know much about this witch...right Daniel" she stated before kicking Daniel in the back with a hard kick "by the way...that's payback" she told him "if anything Kara...i'd be more concerned with the mayor...since thats the only person that witch seems to know..." she said sighing "lets head back...so we can cure the town and head back" she stated before looking back at the witches body something was off, well her nose felt something off, something she smelled wasn't fitting, but she didn't know what the witch was up to before she was there so she simply just shrugged and began to walk with the soul in hand.

"Well we are all kinda meisters without partner" Daniel said trying to calm things down before getting a kick from Lily. "T-that was an accident I swear!" Replied Daniel with a small fluster on his cheeks before regrouping. "The mayor indeed seems suspicious, if not the entire village. No one mentioned another DMWA agent running here before, so, calling us traitors would most likely be the witch mistaking us for the villagers."
Illo met Lily's rude words with a shrug. Far be it for him to give much thought to these words; as it remained for him the result of a misconception on her part and, as it went, a missed delivery on his part in that she took it to mean something other than an attempt to find middle-ground in a group now meant to keep an eye on each other; or perhaps it was just this which drove her to be suspicious of him in his sudden self-election to carry the soul... Either way, it was out of his hands now (wink).
"So aggressive~" sighed the monk, taking his attention back to his trusty burro and started off with the group. He kept an eye on the road, not wishing to draw attention to himself as being suspicious of anyone. Were they really not worried about it? Illo thought this in itself to be worrisome. Was it that they were simple thugs who did no detective work whatsoever? Illo didn't accept this, and, as they didn't seem to be keen on listening to his suggestions, decided to save his sanity by maintaining that there were four silent investigations continuing simultaneously amongst the group.
"Perhaps I'll practice some Gong-Fu when we get back," he mused to himself as he plodded along with his beast. Clearly, Daniel needn't worry about the Iron Phoenix and his deadly fists today. This was an entirely different Illo than the one talked about in urban legends around campus. Today he was tame, and apparently less indestructible judging by the scratches on his limbs.

Kara's eyes widened "What if it's one of those things where we get back and this ends up being a doomsday weapon and the whole town tries to attack up and gain world domination?" she asked. She was obviously still nervous about what the witch said even though Lily said to brush it off. She began walking and then stumbled slightly before looking at Daniel "Actually, yes could you carry it for me pretty please?"she asked.

Lily growled abit "i can hear you idiot" she muttered before looking back at the two behind her hearing Kara "i doubt that...if it was a doomsday weapon, the witch would have hidden it better...or even destroyed it...besides why would she have it if shes been supposedly avoiding the town" she stated "besides...if it is...we can destroy it or shut it down...i mean it can't be too indestructible" she shrugged as she walked "sure an accident..."

Picking the artifact, Daniel would nod at Kara. "Don't worry. I mean, whatever this machine does. Wether it's truly the antidote or the origin of this disease is now under our custody. But, maybe we should be more careful once we get back to town. After all, the sickness is still spreading and we need some answers." Daniel said to Kara while extending his hand at her. "Just for safety let me recharge your cleansing wave gauge... you know, that boost I gave you earlier. You're pretty nimble. This should give you some room in case we might need to fight back at the town." He would offer Lily to recharge the buff on her too, but something within him told Daniel that he would probably get another kick... maybe getting stabbed should he approach the kitsune given her current temper. "Illo, we are working as a team here, next time I would like you to have at least our backs. If you don't think you can keep up with the action. I won't question your motives. But, if so. I would kindly ask you to keep a safe distance." From his backpack he took a small communication devices. "Here, you can even contact us from the distance should something suspicious happens."
The many hats of Illo! From janitor to tea aficionado; from demon slayer to special ops! ... Or was this more of a beat-cop routine? In any case it was with some eagerness that the monk took the communication device from Daniel, thinking about what it would be like to try something new; indeed something wherein he wouldn't be burdened to live up to his old legacy and instead try his hand at something which could, if the stars held it so, uncover a quieted skill made mute by all those years of dogged training.
"Perfect! I won't let you down!" The more he thought of it the more he was reminded of his first mission. That was a job which called for stealth, and, as Illo might do, he charged in like the bulls of Pamplona. This was, as he saw it, a chance to rectify such grievous errors and actually make something of himself; often criticised before and since for not being a 'team player,' for being a 'superman' bent on shouldering the weight of the world no matter how great the odds in spite--apparently--of his peers' eagerness to help; a man unaware of what it meant to have to rely on others might have indeed not have known what it was to pull his own weight when faced with similar perils as the former sans powers to match, not knowing what it was to be part of a team.
"... I guess I won't need this anymore?" This was always the way of the monk: to learn. Maybe it was bred--or beat--into him by the Brothers. He looked to Daniel as a student would a teacher. "What should I do?"
