" It'll take fifteen ******** minutes if we start moving," Aleksy said heatedly, "As opposed to debating! Finn says that's the way to go and Finn can always find the way out, so that's the way we're going." Or at least, that's the way he was going. He started purposefully down the main road, stopped, turned around, and said, "Like Leila said! Do any of you have any better ideas!" It was a rhetorical question. Aleksy kept on going. They'd follow if that was what they wanted to do.

Leila shrugged, took another attempt at a deep breath, and followed. Anything but doing nothing.

With nothing else to say, Autumn tugged her new friend along, and headed out after their new leader. At least they'd figure out what the voice was, anyway.

Algie got very quiet at Aleksy's outburst, straightening slightly as he eyed the younger man. There was a quiet tense moment where he stepped just that much closer to Jeremiah.. before he began to follow at a safe distance. Now that they knew which road took them where, they didn't have to stay huddled together like penguins. Alg swung his umbrella down a bit like a cane and readjusted Heliodora's book under his arm. "Three days-" He strolled slightly off to the side of the street, a safe distance away for them to speak quietly, "-the cat showed up at my apartment. Then I found your car. And I traded a full set of signed Red Herring's to Sunny, which was a ripoff because it led me to-" he nodded forward, "Aleksy."

Jeremiah's lips pressed to a thin line at the outburst. They had, for lack of a better word, had been moving that direction. It was just that some of them were still debating why and he knew. Mogget was dropped down to the ground, the umbrella lowered and no longer held up. He grabbed Algie's arm, fingers going around his bicep and sliding briefly - without thinking - to brush against the inside of his wrist before his hand dropped. The other man was still kept close, just like Zac was always under his watchful eye. Jeremiah would walk in front of the group. Not that would mean much but he was stubborn and protective and still an officer. "Ah, he ..." Jeremiah waved a hand in the air, glancing over his shoulder towards Aleksy and then back to Algie. "I somehow imagine my conversation with him went better than yours." Not that he had talked to the other about it. He had not been sure how to go oh, yeah, I've got a power now."Not quite sure I'm pleased you made another deal with Sunny but at least it was just books." Then, as if thinking about it because he knew it had to be so. "How bad was it?" The detective meant the questioning that likely happened because he knew it had to have happened.

The sound of the voice was unsettling. So was the sensation that it left after it spoke. Asiya wasn't the only one unnerved. A fashionable girl did not seem pleased at all. She had been yelling and clearly did not want to go where the voice was telling them to go. The artist, however, was at a loss for just about everything. There wasn't much left to do, but to go in the direction of the voice.
She wasn't the only one. A large group of others was heading that way as well, and that made things a little better. "Glad we're not the only ones," she murmured to Erin, who was trailing along behind Sage. Asiya had fallen behind the group, as well, and was about the same pace as the computer technician. That was perfectly okay with her, though. She wasn't keen on getting too involved in things, and was perfectly okay with just sitting back and watching things unfold.
"This place is strange..."Quote: Mri's terribad at large groups. ; n; Anyone who wants to interact with Asiya, feel free!

"Yes when he told me," Algie's voice dropped again and he sounded disgusted, "I was incubating?" Alg glanced aorund them, behind to see if any new faces had joined, then back to Jeremiah, "How bad was what?" Everyone he knew disappearing? The fog? Everyone implying he was slow for several days for not being ready or figuring it all out? Being held for questioning in his best friend's kidnapping?? That. Obviously. This was Jeremiah, "Oh my lengthy visit to the police department? For your kidnapping?" Dead stare, Jeremiah. Dead stare.

Jeremiah was keeping an eye on the group, keeping track of the new faces, as well as trying to make sure that there was nothing ahead of them as they moved forward. Anyone else might have squirmed under that kind of stare from Algie but Jeremiah just stared back.
It likely looked a bit more impressive than usual because of the black eyes.
"For what it's worth, I'm sorry." A rare thing because the detective rarely saw the need to apologize for things that were outside his control. There was no point in saying that the police were just doing their job or anything else. Jeremiah knew it would have been frustrating for Algie. "I wasn't expecting her to call in my promise the way she did."
The fact of the matter was that in the back of his mind the entire time he had been worried about Algie. Now that he was here it was a different worry. His gaze flicked back to the group, back to Zac and Mogget. Leila as well.
So many people pulled in. People who hadn't made deals with Sunny. Just what was going on now?

"I don't know," he answered, uncrossing his arms again and shoving his hands into his pockets. Clearly this stance made him more personable... in his mind. "I feel like I've got to get there, so I'm going." Following the voice was a simple directive, and after the morning he'd had, anything that gave him something definitive to do was a comfort, even if it was leading him into a trap. At least then he'd know what he faced.
"It's easier than standing around wondering where we are. Or when? You are from Ashdown, right? Not whatever this place is." Rabbit had heard plenty of rumors about the fog in the three years since he'd moved here, he'd even paid attention to the recent spate of disappearances, but none of it was coming together for him. Not even reaching the end of the block and catching sight of Aleksy and his entourage gave his circumstances any cohesive meaning, in fact, it only served to baffle him further.
Rabbit's head tilted to one side like a confused dog's. "I know that guy. What's he doing here?"

Brianna followed after the man regardless of her hesitancy and she just sort of noticed that perhaps she wasn't in her own hometown. After all, It was way to quiet and this guy was the first guy she had seen in awhile and the rain...Did it rain this much in Ashdown?
"Well yeah, I lived there all my life!" She widened her eyes at him, "Why? This isn't Ashdown?" It had all the streets though...and the places. Was it all...not real?
She had been blessed in the ignorance of this place, because she had been too busy surviving on what little means her and her mom could make up. Disappearances didn't matter when she was trying to make a prom outfit out of a 2$ 50's dress. Even now, her projects were bringing a little more income thanks to Etsy.
"Oh great for you dude, I'm glad you found a friend!" She said it with a dry sort of sarcasm before noticing the group. She really really wanted to go up and demand their attention but she also like, was very terrified.
"Hey excuse me, What is going on here!?" She shook the umbrella. "And why are you all gathered out here like this?"

Finn made a point of staying at the front of the group, unfurling his rainbow-patterned golf umbrella and raising it over his head like a beacon. It was obnoxious enough that he trusted everyone would have no trouble following it. He stepped up beside Aleksy, holding his umbrella out to shelter his boyfriend. "Can we move a little faster?" he called to the group. "This weather won't hold. And the voice is gonna get impatient. Probably." He wasn't sure. The voice was new. As was the whole Other People in the Otherworld thing.

The voice comes again. The same voice, but this time its aftertaste is sweet as marshmallow candy. Too sweet: you gag on it. It says, "COME AND SEE."

The voice boomed again and Alg jumped again, this time more of a jolting shudder as he adjusted his glasses. A few more people joined them right before the voise, younger people of course (as everyone seemed younger than them). The brit pointed upwards at the sky, "We're all going to same place. Straight down this road towards the park." Algie motioned lightly around, speaking very calmly for the fact they were in some crumbly shadow dimension, "You're welcome to join up. Apparently Finn can find the way out of here-" He pointed at Finn at the head of the pack now and his massive rainbow umbrella.

Zac's face might have been considered priceless at another time. His limited tolerance for anything that fell under the term 'sticky sweet' or especially -Marshmallow- was on par with kissing slugs.
It was a full on grimace and hunched shoulders. "Right... Walk faster." He said with clenched teeth. "Or we might be seeing that get worse...I rather think the ominous edge was a bit better... "
He scooped up Mogget, the briefest of pauses in his stride and swung him back to his shoulder where the cat perched, the faintest wobble in his stance with the movement of Zac's stride.
"We're off to see the wizard." He added dryly. Though he sure as heck wasn't skipping. Increased stride maybe but, no... he was NOT skipping.

Following the distant voices really seemed to be Kalisha's best bet, so that was what she did, carefully making her way down the empty streets. Empty, but yet she could not shake the feeling that she was being watched, very closely. And she did not like it. She did not like it at all. Thankfully, she could see moving figures up ahead. "Hello ?" She called out, and made her way closer. She could barely made out the colors of a rather bright umbrella up ahead - a beacon to follow ? Well, it was the only thing she could think of at the time. Hopefully there would be safety in numbers, and she caught up with the group as quickly as she could. What else could she do ? The second time the voice had called out was as unpleasant as the first, after all. Quote: Im pretty bad at orps, so quote me if you need me, please ! <3
