And if Jack had attacked, Chel would have been right behind him with her bow, but it was somehow different. If the consequence fell on her own shoulders it was right but if Jack stuck his neck out, it felt alarmingly wrong.
"Mm," she murmured in agreement, letting the arm fall to her waist so she could lean into his side. Kissing probably wasn't on the table right now, but Chel showed her affection with touch nonetheless. "Not ready t'sleep." It was still relatively early in the evening and she felt alert both from the conversation and the ice on her side. "C'you play me somethin'?" She didn't want the quiet anymore.

"Mm...Yeah, I can try."
< Let music soothe the beast. > It was supposed to be a tease, but in some way it was a little too familiar. Owain was often silent when fighting off the nagging impulses that had been plaguing Jack more often, but in this moment he couldn't help but speak up--not when his wielder was consoling himself with the idea of next time. It was leading down a path that was too close to what he had done in the past, in destruction and satisfaction from control over it.
Jack, frankly, took offense that his partner thought he was losing control in the first place.
He let Chel lean on him for a little longer before bumping her again as a sign to sit up. "Requests?" he asked as he took up their bowls to clean.

"Anythin'." While Jack grabbed the bowls, Chel hopped off her seat and attempted to stretch without injury. Then she paced to the living room, letting out small noises of displeasure akin to that's going to hurt in the morning.
"Need a good reminder." Where had those blankets gotten to anyways?

"Good reminder of what?" he asked as he turned the sink on.

"Nothin'," she told him, already burying herself in the blanket. She had no doubt this was going to be the place she fell asleep eventually; the second floor was too far away unless carried.
"Leave the dishes in the sink Mr. Clean."

Jack ignored her long enough to clean the bowls up anyway; leaving them there would have just bothered him more.
Grabbing Barbara from upstairs, he eventually nestled himself with her on the couch and began to tune. "Here's your good reminder: s'you and me now," he said.

Chel had leaned against the side of the couch, using it as a rather uncomfortable pillow and when Jack sat down she pressed her feet against his side, knees bent. Always needing to touch, even a couch length apart.
"You, me and yer other woman." Barbara, the she-devil. She closed her eyes and let him play without much comment. She had a lot to think about and music was a perfect absolution.

He merely snorted in response rather than joke you're the other one woman here. "One big happy family."
For now, they both had something to think about, and music would be their excuse.
