Freddy was walking through the festival, jawbreaker in his mouth and immensely enjoying himself. He had the rest of the candy still in the bag, tucked in his pocket. That was the nice thing about jawbreakers, they just lasted forever.
He was looking for another game to play, and had paused to consider a booth. A slight prickling against his leg caused him to look down in surprise. Somehow without his noticing a bright pink nezubat had crawled up his pant leg and was trying to root in his pocket. He laughed as he carefully picked the nezubat up.
"Oh no you little rascal, candy isn't good for you! I bet you are hungry though. Stick with ol' Freddy, he'll find you something tasty that's good for you!"
Guereda held the hand of their daughter tight as they walked into the jubilee. It was already well into the event, with the hall loud with music, laughter, and the chiming of various games. Evey may have been growing up fast, but she still seemed to appreciate having a hold on her da as they made their way through the crowds.
"See anything you like?" Reda asked her. They made their way over to a table with a wheel on it. "Spin the wheel, win the prize!" a sign said over it. That sounded promising. Reda spun the wheel and smiled when it landed on a book. Excellent! They loved books. Rumor had it that this year's crop of Jubilee prizes included several classic romance novels...Reda picked up a copy of Prisoner of the Rani and slid it into their bag. Yes, that looked good.
Evelyn squeezed Guereda's hand and walked as close to their parent as they could. It was just so busy in here! And with only one eye, Evey had trouble figuring out how far away other people were. Crowds weren't exactly the worst, per say...but they weren't very good, either. "I'm mostly looking for stuff for my sibling," she said. "When they come out of their stone." She'd been planning this for a while. She needed to get her sibling lots and lots of toys so that they wouldn't get jealous of all of her toys. She herself had a theme--she liked collecting blue toys--so she figured her sibling might as well have one. "I'm thinking of getting them lots and lots of purple stuffed animals." She reached out and spun the wheel, grinning in triumph as the wheel stopped at "plushie." She selected a stuffed rat--a purple one, of course--and put it in her parent's purse. "Could you keep that safe for me? Um, for us?"
Batholith wasn't really paying attention to much at the party. Hunter's Jubilee? Did people still celebrate that? Actually, the more interesting question was, why did he think this was just a little kid thing? He'd heard adults discuss it all his life. It was a big romantic thing, so really, shouldn't it have been weirder that kids would celebrate it at all? Tough questions. He supposed it was also about platonic love, but that just brought him back to his original question, the one he couldn't put words to...
He aimed the dart, popped a balloon, and was rewarded with a beautiful purple rock. Since when had they started giving out minerals at parties?! He grinned, thanked the game master, and picked up the next dart.
Quilo looked around the crowded hall and sighed. There was no sign of Ella yet. Then again, he'd only just started looking, and he was a little short! It was hard to see anything through this crowd, but he resolved to find her (if she was here), and spend some time with her. If that failed, well...he could always win a few things for her, right?
Talya loved Hunter's Jubilee. Not just because of candy and friends and love, but also because the dominant color was pink! Pink was her favorite color! How could anyone not like pink?! She had resolved to get as many pink things as Nightmarishly possible, and nothing was going to stand in her way. Certainly not this stack of foam blocks that she chucked a rubber ball at. She smiled. Score! She'd knocked them all down together. She selected a pink stuffed bat as her prize, and asked to go again. The game mistress nodded and handed her another ball.
Zalir wasn't really much of one for parties--especially not Hunter's Jubilee. Zey had hoped that zey could spend the day with zeir friends, but, um, zey hadn't seen either Aella or Vaden lately...it was unfortunate, but that was sort of the way things were. Zalir sighed. Zey had had luck making friends at parties before. Maybe zey would make another friend here today?
Either way, there were new books to be won at this event, and Zalir couldn't say no to new books. Zey found zemselves at a matching card game, and after a couple of false starts, zey had won a book: a romance novel with a blue Litch on the cover. That looked interesting, especially since there was no one else on the cover...
Lillian was still getting used to Hunter's Jubilee. The idea of a holiday dedicated to love sounded very nice--she liked it. She just wasn't sure if this was really something a young child should get involved with. Then again...books...
Lillian wouldn't really call herself a reader, per say, but she liked collecting books with covers that depicted Nixie, or Grimms, or Imps--races she'd grown up being familiar with. Indeed, one of the books on offer was a classic Nixie novel--Tide and Prejudice! She was determined to win it. She found herself next to her friend Talya at a miniature version of the milk bottle game. She picked up a rubber ball and carefully knocked over only the top row of blocks. She wanted to win a prize, but not a stuffed animal. She pointed out the book and smiled at the game mistress. "That one, please," she whispered.
Ustule liked the idea of a holiday dedicated to love. Love was a good thing to have in the world...besides, there were a lot of purple things to be won. Okay. She couldn't see Prometheus, Teo, or Peri anywhere. She would keep an eye out for them, and she would get some gifts for them--arrows to write notes on, that sort of thing. But she also wanted some things of her own. Okay. Purple stuff. Any books about Litches or magic. Stuffed bats. Oh, yes, stuffed bats! Ustule collected stuffed bats. She made her way over to a guess-the-number game and wrote her guess on a piece of card. When the vendor shook their head and told her she was wrong, she shrugged and picked out a purple bracelet to wear. Oh well. At least she could dress more in the spirit of things, eh?
Anchriesel felt a little bad about not spending the holiday with his boyfriend, but then he remembered how much he hated Ganymede. He couldn't help it. The dislike of the Geist was hardwired into his brain now. So he had resolved not to spend the day with him. The day--tonight, or perhaps tomorrow night, he could corner Gany and shower him with gifts. Hey, he wanted to make Gany feel miserable, right? The best way to do that was to embarrass him. And give him something to remember Chries by...
But Chries also wanted stuff for himself, of course. He made his way down the aisles of booths, games, and vendors, and settled on a card matching game. The only other player was a dark-skinned Litch--the ginger he'd met at the Solstice festival a couple months ago. "Hey...It's Zalir, right?" The Litch squeaked and blushed, which Chries took as a "yes." Cute. Chries turned over two cards, making a match, and picked up a book. "I see you have a book there," he murmured to Zalir.
Verity looked aorund for the rest of her family--such as it was so far. Shera, her roommate and baby-zither, was off setting up mystery boxes, and Fen...was nowhere to be seen. He would be along soon, she knew that, but nonetheless... She sighed and turned around to a wheel marked with prizes. She was starting to worry. That was unlike her. She hated this anxious feeling. Maybe winning a prize would get her mind off of things. It worked--sort of. Her prize was a romance novel, and although the excitement of winning a book occupied her mind for a few seconds, the charm was quickly gone, and she was back to worrying...
Callessa wasn't quite sure why she was here--sure, her mother always came, but that didn't mean she had to come. She wasn't really a partier by nature...and yet, she was here. Okay, actually, it wasn't that great a mystery. The answer was skipping along next to her, dark and warm and beautiful. Eidil's smile lit up her whole face and Cal couldn't look away from her. She sort of had to, mind, in order to throw the skee ball... but she didn't do too well. She won a bracelet. That was something, she supposed...
Eidil clapped her hands. "Very nice, Cal!" she trilled. "Okay, my turn!" She picked up the ball and laughed as her ball landed in the same hole. "Awesome!" She picked out a lighter blue bracelet. "Cal, we match!" She slipped it on her hand and showed it off. Her Fallen friend turned her head away. Eidil grinned. "We both like the color blue, Cal, isn't that awesome? I still can't get over that."
"Well," Cal said, "if you haven't gotten over it in ten years, no, you probably aren't!" Ugh. Too...cute...
Ikki smiled as his son ran from booth to booth. At least he was having fun. The Geist was enjoying himself as well, but he was also a bit sad... He hadn't asked Litla out because he thought she would be busy with school, and he kind of felt like an a** for not even trying. He pulled out his phone and decided to send her a text, asking if he could call her. 'Hey, Litla, are you busy? Can I call you?'
Yushika
Finn ran up to a game booth and bounced excitedly, asking to play. It was a ball toss game to knock over some bottles. He could do that! Well, not the first two tries, but the third toss knocked all the bottles over! Finn grinned at the Nightmare at the booth and he pointed to a Vespercat plushie. Another grin and he made his way back to his father, holding his prize proudly.

Well luckily it seemed like Jaden was still recovering from suddenly having Chani and Leto pop out of nowhere and did notice or luckily didn’t comment on their poor manners. It gave Leto a bit of confidence to look up from Chani at least that and he had to sneeze into the crook of his elbow. Chani would claw his face if he dared sneeze into her. Although then she would get all worried and lick him. Giving them both time to recover from the impromptu meaning Leto did look up after his sneezing fit. “Yeah it is really loud, it was even worse during the winter festival but I hear that we’re getting two new species so I’m sure it’ll get even more packed unfortunately” Leto replied. Truth be told he was a bit interested in meeting one of the naga or bakeneko. He loved learning about new cultures after all. However right now he was helping Jaden pick a plushie and look at the pretty rock. “Oh it is pretty. Its fluorite isn’t it?” Geology wasn’t exactly an interest but his aunt was pretty knowledgeable in it. “Hmm well my favorite are the nezubats… don’t give me that look Chani they are but I know not everyone has the crazy like my family does for the little critters. How about…” he trailed off about to point the red and white and purple fluff bug. Come to think it those colors were a lot like Leto himself and he wanted to pick something out that fit his roommate. “mmm the blue jackalope?”
Jaden wilted a bit more when he heard that. He had trouble enough trying to learn how to be social with the species they already had, let alone adding more! He tried to put on a brave face though. It wouldn't do to let Leto see him getting upset.
"That's what the lady at the booth said," he responded to the inquiry of the type of rock he'd won. He carefully tucked the fluorite back in his pocket, then turned to consider the plushies. The jackalopes were pretty cute. He got the stall owner's attention and shyly pointed to the blue one, and received it. He turned back to Leto, clutching his prize, though a slight frown was on his face when he noticed his roommate's sniffles and sneezes. It seemed the fit from earlier wasn't a one-time thing.
"You gonna be okay? I bet we could fine someone with tissues if you need 'em." Before Leto could respond Jaden turned to ask the booth owner if they had tissues. They did, and readily surrendered some to the freshling. Then they looked over at Leto with a smile and asked if they wanted to play the game as well.
Well she didn’t want to keep Vanna waiting. She knew her brother would sit there and wait patiently but she always felt bad. She normally didn’t like to be running late but it wasn’t her fault Vanna had somehow ended up here earlier. Ah well it wasn’t like there was much she could do about it and they did have to get to a festival. There were new people to meet, which was another reason that Mai had insisted that Vanna come along with her. She was always so ridiculously shy but she knew her brother always had her back and it helped her to be more active and more secure about herself probably because she looked up to Vanna and hoped she wasn’t a burden on him. “Okay sorry for taking so long I’m ready now and that festival is going to wait around forever” Mai stated. She closed the door and started walking towards the festival grounds. She was definitely glad she had grabbed a coat though; while it was February it still got a bit chilly. "you think we'll run into any of your people or can I actually meet your other little sibling"
Vanna nodded ready to get the night over with. He was truly looking forward to spending time with Mai, and he did like collecting things from the booths but crowds and excited romantic crowds where never his thing. Hadnt been actually since junior year and that brat of a… mmm suffice to say his last boyfriend had waited until this time to dump him. It still kind of hurt years later but it was a good time to show appreciation for family. He would have to see if he could get Eilwen or Mai something. Well technically he had just gotten Mai something but schematics.
“Well a lot of the boys are still working. Yami said he might swing by later but it depends on things. Besides its best they stay where they are, even if you totally want to ask them how they liked the cookies. You know I told you a million times they all liked your baking.” He teased. Of course he knew that Mai probably thought he was just telling her that because he was her older brother. Even though that wasnt the case here. It was then there was a terrible shrieking sound as a crow tried to hurt a nezubat. The poor thing quickly lost altitude and was spiraling towards the ground. It landed luckily in a pile of leaves. Vanna and Mai ran over, Vanna not really thinking and leaning down to make sure the little guy was okay. The crow didn’t seem like it wanted to take on the two chimeras for the bat either. It was then that the nezubat lept up and attached its self to the front of Vanna’s vest.
Oh no he’d never ever hear the end of it from his first nezubat. Vanna tried to remove the little nezubat but it practically cried and latched on harder. Oh well Kin was just going to have to get used to having another nezubat around. Vanna could train the critters alright even If it did take some time, but he knew that little latch. It was quiet obvious when a familiar had decided you were going to be its nightmare. “Hey… Hey it’s okay. You can stay with me I guess”
Ah… he knew that wilted look. He himself did it a lot when ever he wanted to make a good impression and was worried of screwing up and making himself look horrid. However seeing as the other hybrid was his roommate they had to stick together right? They were going to be seeing each other a lot for the next couple of years until their junior years. Well Jaden would get a break from him because leto did occasionally go home.
“I think we’ll be okay. As long as one is polite and has good manners then they shouldn’t be hostile either. They’re new to this all too so.. um… well… but then of course maybe I read that look wrong and just consider what I saw babble and yeah…” he trailed off feeling like he probably just made things worse and sniffled. Maybe one of the booths would have coats made for winged nightmares for sell. As he watched Jaden pick out the plushie he suggested he tried to control his sneezing and sniffling because he really did want to be out here tonight. He wasn’t going to let sniffles ground him to a bench again. It was his turn to get things. Unfortunately this time it didn’t get by Jaden and he was suddenly handed a bunch of tissues. Manners dictated that Leto take the tissues, so he did. Sometimes it sucked being a litch/fallen. “I’ll be o- thank you for the tissues” leto replied and then turned towards the booth man. “Ah yeah I’ll play”. Okay so he had a fishing rod and all he had to do was grab one of the ducks. Easy… or not. The first two times he failed and the ducks floated away mocking him. Third time he managed to snag one although this one was differently colored that the rest. So you can imagine his surprise when a nezubat was handed to the hybrid.
It looked at leto, got into a hissing match with Chani and then settled its self squarely on the top of his head. Chani gave out a noise that would have totally been a groan on a human and snuggled up closer to his chest. Ah… he needed a bag she was getting heavy and now she felt like she had to secure her territory so she was going to make a fit if he put her down. “Spice please don’t ruin the familiar dynamics of my room too much….” he really hoped that the nezubat who he had just named spice wouldn't be a diva. However something told him Spice would be okay. Even better he was purple!!!! His mother would be soo jealous.
Litla hadn't planned on going to the event. She hadn't been asked to go, and Litla had zero confidence to ask a certain someone to go with her. Eventually, it was only the mention of there being familiars that had interested her. She had a familiar, of course! But she was interested in adding to the family. Since Ikki hadn't asked her, she assumed he was taking his son out somewhere. She might as well go and do something instead of holing away in her room! Maybe she could find something to give to Ikki's son? She still was working on befriending the sweet child, and she was sure a new plushie or two would be a good start.
She almost jumped when her purse let out a chime. Litla was wearing her favorite red dress and black boots, and for once had brought along a purse. She dug out her phone, flipping it open and wagging her tail briefly when she saw the text. Oh! Ikki! She couldn't help but light up, immediately beginning her response.
Litla
'Oh! I'm not busy. I'm at the event, actually. Did you hear about the school event at the academy?'
With that, she put the device back in her purse, turning right into someone handing out plushies. She didn't hesitate when they offered a plushie, giving a gentle 'thank you' before continuing her search for a familiar.

Ikki and Finn were sitting together on a bench and the Geist was listening to his little hybrid talk about all the cool stuff he had seen and wanted to do when a buzz in his pocket caught his attention. Ikki fished out his phone and smiled when he saw the reply from Litla. With Finn leaning over to look at what his father was doing, Ikki sent her a response.
Ikki
'The event? Yeah, I'm actually here with Finn. I wanted to ask you to come with us, but I figured you might be busy... I'm glad you're here though! Do you want to meet up?'
He felt awful for not asking her out from the start, how rude was he? What if she thought he didn't like her anymore? Oh Nine, he hoped she didn't think that! He cared about her so much, why didn't he invite her out... Ugh!
Hopefully, she would accept his invitation to meet up since they were both at the event, and he could apologize. And then try to win her something nice.
Chries idly took another turn at flipping over cards. He would much rather spend the day with this shy Litch than with his boyfriend. Hm. He really ought to pick a time to dump Ganymede...really, Hunter's Jubilee would have been the best time, but he wanted to stretch things out further. His next cards earned him another book--he picked one with a Fey on the cover. "I think I've seen you in a couple of my classes, Zalir," he murmured. "What do you think about our science class? That mitosis assignment was a little too...intense for my liking, personally." He remembered that Zalir was interested in alchemy and chemistry--so zey probably wouldn't be too hot on mitosis, either. Then again, if zey were into science, maybe zey would be into all science? Scientists were hard people to figure out... He waited for the Litch to take a turn before turning over more cards.
Guereda smiled. "Of course I can, Evelyn. That's why I brought such a big bag." The wheel was one try per person, so they took Evey's hand once again and lead her to the next stall. This one was a match-the-duck game with a trough of water. They waited in line until it was their turn, each of them picking up a pair of ducks to match. Guereda showed off their ducks to the vendor.
"That earns you a small prize," she said.
She offered Guereda a choice of books. The demonin picked up an unfamiliar book, Feybio. Presumably it had been imported from Above. Idly, they wondered whether it had been a Fey or a Dryad who had written it. "Thank you. What did you get, Evey?" they asked their daughter.
Evelyn held up her ducks to the vendor, who smiled and pointed to a rack full of stuffed rats. "Two double-hearts! Why, that earns you a plushie! Which one would you like, dear?"
Evey pointed to a purple rat. "One of those, please!" she said. "Um, thank you!"
"You are both welcome," the vendor said.
Bath pondered the unspoken question as he readied the next dart. It was about Temp. It was always about Temp--that's what it felt like, anyway. Temperance...sweet, beautiful Temperance...whom he should have invited to spend the day with him, but he hadn't been ready, he hadn't been....
Ugh. He didn't want to think about this. He didn't want to think like this. At least it didn't throw off his aim--his next dart pinned the prize card to the cork. "That's a book," the game master said.
Bath grinned. "Excellent. I love books. The trashy-looking one with the Chimera on the cover, please." Last Solstice, he'd found a book about a Chimera and an Imp. Could this be a sequel? Another book by the same author? Either way, he was eager to find out, and his worry over his gorgeous roommate was temporarily alleviated.
Sherald leaned back and watched kids come up to the mystery box booth. She'd been doing this for a couple of years now, and it hadn't gotten old yet. It was a lot of fun to find weird new things to stuff in a box for kids to put their hands into. Nothing dangerous, of course--this time it was stuff like cotton candy, cotton puffs, lace, streamers, candy, that sort of thing. Soft stuff. Thematic stuff. She waved at her roommate (and baby-mama) Verity as she walked by. "How's it going?" she asked.
Verity was relieved to find Sherald. She'd known where her friend was, of course, but she was still glad to see a friendly face. "I can't find Fen anywhere. He said he was going off to explore, but that was half an hour ago, and I have no idea where he went!"
Sherald smiled and pointed to the fluffy child curled up behind her on a stack of gym mats. "Relax, Verity. He's with me. Passed out about fifteen minutes ago. Hey, would you like to have a go at the boxes? Don't worry," she added at Verity's hesitation. "This isn't one of the ones I was making in the kitchen this morning."
Verity stuck her hand cautiously in the box and felt the object. "Is it moss?"
"Nope. Lichen. But that's close enough--for our purposes." She grinned and offered her friend a selection of books. "I know you're into this stuff."
Verity gave Shera a look of mock disapproval and picked out a book with a Demon and a Grimm on it. "Thanks, smart-aleck."
"Hey, for you, my dear, anything!"
Quilo still hadn't found Ella yet. He sighed and looked around. Maybe he should play a game to start off with...but which one? He stopped by a guess-the-number game. That seemed like an okay choice.
Lillian put her book into her bag and watched Talya play. Knowing her friend, she was going to go for lots and lots and lots of pink stuff. She smiled. Talya had a thing for pink. She said it was "princessly," whatever that meant. So far as Lilli could tell, it was also princely, and kingly, and...rex-ly. Really, wasn't pink just a royal color? No, wait, that was purple...
Talya squeaked with delight and wrapped her friend in a big hug. "Lillian! Happy Hunter's Jubilee. Hey, do you want a plushie? Because I could get one for you." When the Nixie shook her head and blushed, Talya shrugged and threw the ball again. True to her word, she did indeed win another plushie--but after once again offering to Lillian, she just picked a pink cat plushie for herself. She smiled. Except for the colors, it looked a little like her cat, Sugar. Obviously, with the colors, it just looked...really pretty. "Thank you!" she said to the game master.
Callessa didn't know how she could ever maintain her composure around her friend. They'd been friends ever since they were kids...surely Eidil should have noticed her erratic behavior by now! Then again, Eidil could be a little...well, selectively observant. About the people she loved. Cal sighed. She'd just have to screw up the courage to ask Eidil out. Someday. When they were old and grey and dying of embarrassment could easily be mistaken for dying of old age. Oh, wait, darnit, Fallen lived longer than Demons! Drat...
Eidil took no notice of her friend's behavior. Cal was usually better at throwing stuff than she was, but if she didn't seem comfortable today. "Okay, one last toss, and then we go to the obstacle course, how's that, Cal?" She waited until her friend gave her a curt nod, then threw the ball. This time, her aim was true, and she won a stuffed bat. She squeaked with delight. She'd prefer a live bat, but this...this was the next best thing!
Ustule looked around for the next game to play. There were lots of ball-tossing games, and some physical stuff, and guessing, and memory...but what caught her eye was a magnetic fishing game. She wandered over in that direction and watched the play for a few minutes.
Zalir squeaked and blushed. Zey had met Anchriesel at the Solstice festival. It was, um, a little--um, it was nice to see them again. Zalir brushed zeir bangs out of zeir face and flipped over another pair of cards. Zeir cards earned zem a bag of jawbreakers, which zey opened up to share with Anchriesel. "Y-yes," zey whispered. "Um, I, um, I really like books. Sort of...um, came here to...get books. Um. I...didn't know you liked books?"
Zey rolled a jawbreaker between zeir fingers nervously. "Heh, yeah. Um, no, I..didn't like that assignment. At all. Kind of...a terrible one. Biology's not my thing," zey added.
Now that things were under way, Hailey was caught up in the party in an instant! The candy was especially catching her attentions as she managed to let go of Malachi's hand and snitch up another bag. "Oooo! Jaw breakers" she said with a grin as she turned to Malachi. "Want one, Khai?~"
It was funny how Malachi caught himself sighing a breath of relief as he was released. Or it very well could have been just catching his breath. He gave an amused smirk and a slight eye roll as Hailey was being Hailey. "You know, Hailey... some day those candies might go right to your behind. I'll still love you even with a big butt, though~" ... ...... 'OH CRAP!' was the first part of his inner monologue after that came out of his mouth... followed by curse words he'd never be caught dead saying that Hailey said all the time. Shrinking back some, he waited for the backlash from that huge mistake.
Hailey's eyes went wide as she heard what Malachi had said. Actually, she almost just about dropped the candies in her hold, too. Slowly she stepped toward him with a very hard to read look on her face. Her feet stopped as she was right in front of him, eyes peering up as the got misty. "You... love me?"
The Fallen had stood there, terrified for life as his girlfriend made her way closer to him and eventually stopping right in front of him. Malachi had braced himself for impact, but he did not expect her reaction. He looked at her in a stunned silence for a moment before smiling softly. "I do, Hailey. I got you a ring for Jubilee..." he said softly as he dug in his pocket, fishing it out and holding a small pink ring in front of his face with a shaking hand... waiting for the next reaction and hoping she wasn't about to kill him for the butt remark. That was not how he wanted to go out.
Even with all the excitement of the party going on, Dodger was already finding himself feeling lonely and ready to eat his weight in chocolate candies. Thank goodness for a crazy high metabolism. It didn't take long for him to find different trinkets that caught his attentions from afar, but as he began to actually give them a close up look, they just weren't quite what he was wanting to find. With a sigh and a twitch of his nose, Dodger pulled out the bag of brownies he scooped up when he first got there and began to snack on them while deciding what to do next.
Matty beamed the biggest grin to Ryker as he went right along with him like when they first met. He couldn't help feeling excited for this party! He was never alone at these sort of things, but this time -- even if they were just roomie status -- he had a hot date. Score! But what the goblin didn't notice is that his victorious inner monologue had shown outwardly in a fist pump until it was too late! Oops! Smirking all the more, Matty skipped right on over to a table with some fun goodies on it, grabbing up an arrow. "Oooo... love arrow, baby~" he said, giving a suggestive brow waggle then a wink as he turned, poking himself on the butt. He amused himself far too much and just cracked up. "C'mon baby! Let's go find some games or something for me to tease you about when you totally lose!"
Wow... that little snake was definitely not what she expected to be the first thing to coil around her when she got to the party. Maybe a smooth guy or a cute girl. This was pretty unexpected. "Excuse you, critter, but I think you got the wrong impression of me already." she said to it in a sing-song tone. With a smirk, Pawsa bent down and offered her rather large claws to the little thing, smirking as it didn't seem to hesitate making the switch from leg to arm. "Welp! At least I'm not starting my time at this shindig alone, huh?" She grabbed up a little nuzbat plush from a nearby table and squished it, making squeaky noises at the scaled critter.
Mai Tai stuck to cuddling her little fuzzbug plushie while she stayed close to Ezekiel. Curious as he had put on a bracelet, Mai leaned over, blinking with sleepy eyes as she tried to get a look at it. "Oh... that's pretty, Zeke." she said, yawning before offering up a smile to him.
Ezekiel beamed happily as his new little trinket was being admired. Even more so when it was complimented. "It is pretty, isn't it? We will have to find one for you later now won't we?" Holding his arm up, he tilted his wrist side to side, admiring it once again before moving on. He grinned as he saw a bag of chocolates, grabbing them up. "You can have some too it you'd like." he offered. Maybe, if he was lucky, the candies might help wake up his sleepy friend.
Still happily admiring the bracelet that was given to her -- while also trying to figure out what it was made of... -- Callie continued to wander about the goings on. Her ears twitched and flicked here and there as they heard unfamiliar beeps and the likes. They were quite confusing to figure out. She saw a few nightmares holding this little rectangular thing and making silly faces at it, then it made a beep and a flash. What in the world was that? Just as she was inching closer, tail swishing back and forth behind her, something caught her attention at a nearby table. Oooo! Rocks! Something familiar and also very pretty! There were so many colors laid out, but the one that caught her eye the most was very pink. Taking it in paw, she studied it and then looked up at a nearby adult. "What kind of rock is this?" and as her question was answered, she smiled and looked back to it. "Tourmaline..." then proceeded to stash it in her pack.
