Shiny thing had taken a break from the festivities yesterday. As much as she loved to party, this thing was going to go on for a while and she needed to pace herself. But she was ready to get back into the swing of it today. But why not start with something she was a little familiar with first.
Four more seeds stuffed into the hollow of a tree's roots. Still not great, but she was getting a little bit better at least...

"Hmm... looks like plenty have already been found." Ginger's first look had yielded only 2 seeds, but surely their were more around, or their would have been some kind of announcement. Surely.
Head down again, she hunted around once more, nose almost in the ground it was so close!

"Well that was a few more..." Ginger murmured, still deeply concentrating on her task.
Her last effort yielded almost as much as her previous two tries combined! Gleeful for her progress, she went back to stand front to deliver her seeds, she expected it wasn't quite enough to earn her some tokens but- what's this? Apparently Clove had deposited her spare seeds without prize and now this lovely acha was adding them to her pile? Fantastic! And she knew her sister wouldn't mind, kind hearted thing she was.

How many seeds had Westward Bound found? He kept a careful count, and then leaned into the plot. Were there any within easy reach here? Yes, actually! There was a little...almost a bundle of them.
Well, whatever. Nine more made eighteen.

What exactly was this tribe about, anyway? Horticulture? He could respect that. He liked the idea of a seed bank, although perhaps Westfen would not have gone for one. It was better to rely on what the swamp gave them, since it changed over time. They needed to adapt.
Ah - there were five seeds here, under a leaf.

The probable bigger question was why they were called the polite society. The best answer, of course, was that it didn't matter. Westfen had been so named for a silly reason, too.

Westward Bound returned to the little seed plot the moment he was free of those little foals. He had some more work to be doing here. Was this what it was like to be a gatherer? Head in the ground all the time?
A thankless task, he thought, except - well, the clan certainly appreciated a gatherer's work.
His ruminations meant the search went by quickly.

He always seemed to catch these two acha when no one else was around. He'd have liked some companionship, and he was interested in doing a bit of recruiting for Westfen, anyway. But he shouldn't be looking to achas for it.

He turned the matter over in his head as he pawed in the plot. He'd been able to find several seeds partially buried - or perhaps someone had covered them in their carelessness. But it looked like after that bit of effort no more seeds were turning themselves up. Well, he might as well head elsewhere - he had a good base for the next day's collecting, he thought.
Ramble smiled at the other kin who had come along to help. It was good that they were helping with the motherfather's sacred task of finding the seeds.
