The dog barked and the squire Mistral began to speak, so Alhambra took a seat down near the front and listened to her. Upgrade? Ring? It sounded cool, but what was this ring thing she was talking about? Just as he was about to raise his hand to ask, another Knight, a blond girl in dark red and white sitting with a bunch of others, asked pretty much the same thing. From the sound of it, he'd have to visit his wonder to find it. He knew what a wonder was, thanks to that cool senshi Sedna, but not how to get to it. Would it speak to him the same way the summons to Olympus had? So many questions, so much he didn't know!
He continued to listen as other Knights asked questions and got answers (even from the Code itself, which freaked him out a little bit). Throughout the discussion of the database, it was sounding like this ring was a communications device that could be tinkered with. AWESOME. He couldn't wait to find his and add the upgrades Mistral was talking about! Maybe he'd try to get to his wonder right after the meeting here was over with and start looking for it.
Then another Knight brought up the subject of a Primer for Knights. That really got his attention, and he turned to face him as he spoke. "A Primer would be great!" he chimed in. "I'm like really new at this and don't know anything. I've been picking up bits and pieces here and there, but a Primer thing where it's all kind of explained would be AWESOME."

Pompeii glanced around Shang to see yet another knight, "A leech? I am no bloodsucking parasite, human or annelid worm." She paused and added, trying to be friendly, "Do you have something in your eye? If its the red dust I would suggest seeing if someone has any water to flush it out. I have a feeling that having this dust in your eye would not be a good thing." Pompeii glanced down at the ground and absently dug her toe into the dirt. The red dust coating her purple boot. "I wonder if this is like the moon's regolith." She asked absently, barely hearing as Shang introduced the pink knight next to him, she did however catch one particular important word. Her head snapped up and before she even thought about it her mouth was open and out popped, "Another one? Damn Shang. How many more in your family are there?" She smiled brightly at the female redhead, "Hello, nice to meet you. Has Maia had a chance to train with you yet? What do you..." Her questions were interrupted by Shang shouting out something about pen and paper. Glancing around the purple squire spotted a cowboy knight who seemed to be searching for something. "Oh, he wants to send a note." Pompeii was still rather fuzzy on the whole letter thing since she hadn't really sent or received more then a hand full of them. Any further questions or observations however were squished as the squire who seemed to be running things called the meeting to order. "Good, the sooner I can go home the sooner I can finish my book," Pompeii muttered as she took her set. All thoughts of her book quickly faded as the implications of the ring update became greater as time passed. Finally she would be able to make notes about others safely. Granted she would be sharing access but it still meant she could observe and note everything she has found out so far, which admittedly was quite little. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Havasu heard the best sentence he had heard all night, well since he talked to Delilah at least. He quickly made his way over to a bright pink page who held his salvation in her hands. "Thanks Red." He flashed her a bright and very grateful smile as he took the offered paper and pen. A bench offered a quick writing desk and before you could shake your hat Havasu had his letter written and was folding it origami style. "Learned this trick in middle school. Doesn't require any wax, tape, or glue to close and its relatively simple to open back up." He was talking to no one in particular as he scrawled Phact's name across the front of it and securely pressed his ring into the 'back side' leaving a slightly embossed symbol. By the time he handed the pen back to the page the letter was gone, hopefully delivered in time. "Thanks, you guys really saved my bacon. If I had stood her up one more time I would have..." He was cut off as the meeting was called to attention. "Thank god. I still might be able to make my date on time." He flopped onto the seat he had just been writing on, ready to get this ball rolling. It didn't take long before Havasu rose his hand and asked, "Since when can our rings do a R2D2 move and hologram s**t?" He had just barely figured out what his ring could do even though he had it for a long while and now he came to find out it could do a whole 'help me Obi One Kenobi' type message. It seemed that he wasn't the only one who had questions however... someone even cracked a joke about the code. Havasu snickered and then laughed even harder when he spotted the code changing shape, "Awe you hurt its feelings." He still had some hard feelings about the last meeting he was forced to attend that introduced the code. Silverah hes a bit of an a** sorry ^.^'

He had to admit he'd dragged his heels about going to Olympus. The place was developing somewhat of a history to him, and not a great one. Vague instructions, connections to Mistral... while it was good to have someplace they could gather he just didn't much care for the place, still somewhat convinced that some part of it had gone -wrong- somewhere in those centuries and that maybe it enjoyed a certain degree of blood and circus. But eventually he'd decided to stop ignoring the insistent request and gone... apparently rather fashionably late, judging from the crowd. Well, somewhere between checking on the butterfly bandages on the deep cuts from Cinnabar's claws and grabbing a cup of coffee, they'd just have to forgive him, and someone could fill him in. This was why he hated downtime to recover from stuff, no matter what people's intentions were. His schedule was always thrown off. Mistral's figure set his teeth on edge, and he might have squeezed the coffee cups just a hair tighter than was wise, only the heat soaking into his palms stopping him short from squeezing them hard enough to slosh hot coffee all over his hands as he spotted, and made his way toward a pale headed figure he hadn't seen for a while. She was alright at least. Well... powered up. That was something. And as usual she was surrounded by friends, or seemed to be. At least she was powered up. That was a start. he'd find out if she blamed him for not being able to do better at New Years later. He wished he had been able to do better, but there was nothing he could do to change that now... "If she's suggesting another field trip to that murderhole of a Wonder, say no." He suggested, bitter like old coffee grounds, as he held out the spare cup in offering. He'd bought it figuring he'd see someone he knew there, having it be her was just a bonus. "What did I miss?" Database now was it? Probably a menu for that goddamn deathtrap... Shazari 15 minutes late with Starbucks and opinions. HI EVERYBODY.

Pharos sat with the other's excited for the announcement and when Mistral introduced herself her face took on a look of wonder because she had wanted to met the lady since Babylon gave her ring upgrade. She listened intently and as soon as Mistral was done speaking she instantly went to try it out all question around her ignored, she sat with the other Chronos knight and pulled it up. "Oh how cool it work. Look they have so much explained! It categorized it looks like. This would be most helpful especially for pages, though you have to find your ring first and get an upgrade. That's a lot of steps." She looked at the code and wondered if maybe it could help with that dilemma. Finding your ring seemed important to your training maybe, but with changing times, maybe things shouldn't operate the way they once did. She bit her lip, eye wide when it started to talk, hand in her lap, primer still active. It was a general message to the question posed. After a moment she looked to the rest of her team. "This would be really helpful to new pages, but finding ones ring can sometimes take time. Even just getting you your wonder can be a challenge not knowing you can go. We all did, but I can't imagine it was be easy for others." She looked up to Mistral standing to ask her question, "Does everything have to be typed of written? Or is there a way, to like scan something?"Silverah Hopefully I didnt ask something already asked @w@

Hvergelmir flushed. Stilled. Let out a breath she'd been holding. She'd been absorbed in sending a friendly wave back Glitnir's way, so she hadn't immediately noticed the approach of a new arrival -- not until a hand wearing a very familiar bracer held out a cup of coffee to her. "Kai," she exhaled. "I-it's, um -- " She looked back to the front of the room, momentarily away from Kairatos's deep, clear eyes. You're alive, she thought, which wasn't germane to the topic. You changed your hair, which wasn't either. Someone hurt you. "A new upgrade from Mistral, this one's automatically getting pushed -- it lets us access and edit the senshi database like a wiki. You, um," she took the coffee with a bashful smile and gestured to the nearest open spot on the bench. "You should sit. Thanks for the coffee." Hvergelmir returned to stroking Scholomance's hair with her free hand as though this had become her own personal job. She ran her fingers against the grain through the short hair at his nape, just below where his skull rested against her thigh, massaging light circles. It made her feel better, a little. Calmer.

Mistral could only work through questions one at a time. She turned her attention first to Glitnir, who had a few good points. "The database contains the senshi primer, as well as every piece of intelligence that the senshi have ever seen to put into it. I haven't gone through every single page, but it's valuable data, and we'll all benefit from sharing."As for whether they were okay with it... she sighed. It seemed like there was a contingent that wanted their own database and to leave the senshi out of it, but Mistral didn't see the point in splitting hairs like that. She'd say she'd consider it to appease them, but knowledge was knowledge. "I have permission from the original administrator of the database to give knights access. Right now, I'm the sole admin, and if you abuse your privileges, I will ban you from editing. That goes for anyone, senshi too." In other words - the senshi had better appreciate her, because otherwise, no one would have an active database. As for his last question, Mistral shrugged. "You don't need my permission to do that," she said. A primer sounded like a good idea - if someone else was willing to put in the work on it, then she wasn't going to turn it down. But she had her eyes set on bigger projects, like discovering and replicating the process behind transcendence. If she could do that, she could create an inoculation against corruption! The world would be her oyster! But back to business. She had stupid questions to attend to about things she'd already answered. "Since about a year and a half ago," said Mistral, doing her best not to roll her eyes at Havasu. "It's part of my original upgrade." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, wire ring. "If you don't have one of these, come see me after and I'll get you taken care of."There was no time to linger over his sass. Mistral turned towards Pharos, who had a far more... legitimate question, in her eyes. "Unfortunately, yes," she said. "I wasn't able to work a scanning function into the existing hardware, so rather than have to change my production cycle and distribute another add-on to everyone, you'll have to type things. I hope that's not too inconvenient."Obviously, she did not expect anyone to be ******** around on the database in the heat of battle. "Oh!" Mistral exclaimed suddenly. Pharos's question had jogged her memory. "The new upgrade lets you use the typing or writing interface to send messages! You can still do it the old way, but it's 2015 and I figured it would be a nice touch."LOOK THERE IS MORE UPGRADE INFO IN THIS POST

He hated to admit that there were detail's about Scholomance's uniform that made him a bit less comfortable around the young man than Hvergelmer was, but then... this was why she was who she was. It was outright goofy that a few costume details raised the hairs on his neck even slightly, but it was just another reason to get back out there. Punch the real teeth out of some actual monsters. "You... look good." He added, suddenly not sure his surprise greeting had gone quite as well as he'd planned. They hadn't crossed paths for a while after all. Maybe she was mad about new Years. You look good. A very awkward, round about way of saying I'm glad you're alive. He wondered if her feet ached. Could she stand? Walk? Surely she must be able to. The alternative made him want to shiver and made an uncomfortable itch in the scars under his own armor. He'd never forgive himself if she couldn't. If only because it was very difficult not to project his own fears onto the experiences of others. "I can..." He started to offer, looking around for an extra seat, realized she was offering one, and sat in it awkwardly. "...Sorry... I mean... ... Sorry......"

Obi-Wan...he smirked. It'd been a while since anyone joked about his uniform like that; granted, he looked much less like a Padawan now with all the extra doodads on his squire uniform as compared to the one he wore as a page. It was welcome though, and at her question he shrugged. "Doing alright considering. Still getting used to this," and he made a small round-the-world sort of gesture, "all of this. Ah, and Themi should be right behind me. I was with her when the Code beckoned."
Ash might have returned the question, the usual how-do-you-do's at least, as he settled in his seat, but Mistral's dog barked and demanded their attention so he turned his eyes to her and listened to what she had to say. It was a relief to slowly realize that it was nothing more than another gathering about an upgrade that she'd already implemented, which meant they wouldn't be relocated to another booby-trapped nightmare to gather more things for more of her inventions. He only had bits and pieces of the original incident, but it as enough to warrant his doubts about setting foot anywhere near her wonder.
When the Mercury squire was done with her explanation Ashur didn't waste any time and touched his ring, only letting go once the hologram of an book popped up, prompting a whistle.
"Nifty," he said as he started flipping through it and occasionally glancing over at Andro. "Feels like I should work with senshi more often. I didn't even know they--or is it we? Sorta like an Order thing? Whatever. I didn't even know we had this kinda thing..."

Hvergelmir shook her head. She wished she could summon up the easy confidence she'd felt just minutes before -- now she felt all thumbs. "Don't be," she said quietly, carefully not to disrupt the people around them too much. "I'm glad you're here."

"...So we get a star-wars version of Wikipedia, and... I... don't even know how to make a silly comment about magic email." OK maybe he could salvage the conversation... maybe. Something that didn't involve the awkward long pause. "Maybe next time we get lightsabers. Think she's taking requests" He tried, taking a sip of his own coffee and trying to look more relaxed than he felt. At least she hadn't mentioned the face. Maybe he could pretend it was Mac. Mac was kind of huge... and the massive old cat had mauled his share of -feet- when exposed to catnip... ... Yeah no he didn't think literally anyone would buy that. That was an horrible excuse.

Okay. So it should be relatively simple, basically. That's what Mistral was saying. Piece of cake.
Mont Blonc tried to act unphased by the whole bit from the Code, but it was a bit hard not to, both curiosity and dread welling up in his chest and making his head swim a little. So there was a piece of the Code on his wonder? Somewhere? - oh god. "S-someone should quote the Code on that, update their page, " and he said it in one of those voices that was a trademark of someone trying entirely too hard to make a joke.
Then there was the whole business of another new knight, this one seemingly of Mars, and seemingly connected to Hvergelmir in some way he couldn't possibly understand. She seemed nervous. He almost wondered if he should be trying to step in, but... it didn't entirely seem like a bad nervous and...? He shot the both of them a look, his cheeks burning, before his gaze dropped down to his rings.
He'd never edited a Wikipedia page. Or much of anything. He'd lost two papers already this semester. Biting at his lower lip, he fidgeted with his ring and began to try and use it.
Within rapid succession, he'd managed to a) accidentally call Aegir, b) accidentally abort the call to aforementioned Aegir, and c), "Oh no, " he hadn't seriously just deleted Hvergelmir's test page, had he?! He made a muffled sound of panic and began fidgeting more intently with his ring, muttering 'oh no no no' under his breath, and his face was burning red hot like an inferno because she was busy with a boy and why couldn't he do the things?!

Scholomance was pleasantly surprised with the automatic update means; either the operating system for these rings was simplified enough that there was no need to accept or reject the interface update, or Mistral was clever enough to push the update through without needing to integrate that piece of user choice. Either way, the update built upon what she already introduced as an expansion to the rings. Put plainly, he approved of it.
And he continued to listen to the questions and answers as she fielded more from different knights. He recognized one particularly snotty voice as belonging to a page he met back at the train station, but said nothing of it - Mistral handled his commentary well, regardless. A few more questions were asked that manifested important points, and those, too, received quick answer, thereby revealing more information about the update itself. And when Hvergelmir sought to test it out by beginning a page of her own, that gave Scholomance an easy view of the editing interface he didn't yet have. Overall, the update proved quite exciting, and he now had access to a mythical database that would've benefitted him greatly in his first months as a knight.
Well, it would benefit him greatly now, too.
More knights continued to arrive, too, complete with the addition of one Mars knight that acted sheepishly around Hvergelmir, with her responding similarly. Glancing up from the continued brushing of his hair, he wondered what transpired between the pair to leave them acting so. Any number of things, he imagined, and he didn't particularly feel like making extrapolations out of nothing. "You might want to work on your technique," he teased the knight. "Bringing coffee and telling her she looks good is a time-honored tradition, but I don't think her response is the one you're looking for."
But before he had time to make proper introductions, Mont Blonc fumbled about gracelessly in the editing interface and successfully caused all kinds of havoc. With a groan, Scholomance forced himself upright (thereby leaving the warmth and gentleness of Hver's lap, to his chagrin).Hair slowly righted itself from where it was once brushed upward and he looked over Mont Blonc's shoulder to see the carnage. Indeed, he managed to delete Hvergelmir's test page, but the changes hadn't yet been submitted. "New to this, are you?" He chimed in over Monty's shoulder.
Scholomance reached over in a smooth motion, his fingers touching the keys on the projected keyboard for a few shortcut undo's, thereby returning the page's original text. "In Wikipedia, most pages can be edited at whim when you've sent in enough approved edits. It's like proving that you can be responsible with the power of editing information, you see. Lots of people like to mess with Wikipedia, and while some pages allow that because they're fairly inconsequential, others are locked to less impressive editors. Or, at least, that's what I remember of it.
"Mistral, if you're an administrator, then do submitted edits to pages in the database need to go through you for approval and final upload? I ask because of the possibility for this information to be deleted through mischievous means or simple mistake, and want to know how you might intend to circumvent that. Monitoring might be easiest, and having approved editors might also be useful, and I don't know if it's possible to back up the database."
Scholomance returned his attention to Mont Blonc's screen, patted his frantic friend on the shoulder, and returned to his reclining. "Just don't delete the entire database, Blanca. I can't hit 'undo' for you on that."
And now that he had the time for it, Scholomance reached across Hver's lap toward the Mars knight who just took his seat. "Scholomance," he offered simply.

There were so many people here. Being a student, being used to sitting in crowded lecture halls and walking through crowded hallways, he should have been used to this. But there, everything was impersonal. He, as an individual, didn't matter that much. He didn't draw much personal attention, and that was fine. Focus was supposed to be on their professors, the classes, the school work. Having it swing to him all at once usually wouldn't have bothered him, honestly, but given the situation Baikal felt vaguely exposed. He didn't know what was going on, and a meet and greet really wasn't helping. He kept quiet as Babylon pulled another page into the knot of people he stood on the edge of, scanning the crowd until the lovely lady with the opal hair addressed the him and the girl that had just been introduced. Fortunate, she said, but he didn't feel all that fortunate just then. Overwhelmed, perhaps. Scholomance's comment was met with a dry look and a twitch of the new page's lips. "Oh yeah, loads of fun." Baikal was generally a laid-back sort of guy. There wasn't much that really got to him, but this was all just a bit much to take in all at once. Pale eyes flicked next to the one that introduced himself as Mont Blanc, and platinum brows arched as the other man's nerves seemed to get the better of him. But really, with the names? "Yeah..." He flicked a glance towards Tikal, then back. "Thanks." Awkward or not, he had offered assistance whenever needed. There was a combination of a call for attention and the distinct barking of a dog. All of it to get the attention of the collective occupants of the room. Baikal turned, taking a seat where ever was available, while still keeping close to Babylon and the other's the Mercury knight was talking to to. The announcement, as far as Baikal could see, had to do with communication and rings. Rings that all of the other gathered knights seemed to have, or at least most of them. He didn't have one, and she shot a questioning glance towards Babylon and the other's, but Tikal that answered him. Or rather, it was her that asked the question that had also been on his mind. The one that had called the meeting, Mistrel, answered. "Wonder?" Ancestor? Memories? What the hell was she even talking about? He leaned forward in his chair as the squire began to go over a bunch of information about an upgrade and code, fingers lacing together and chin dropping to rest on the backs of them. He tried to take it all in but without any context, it was little better than a foreign language to him, and got even weirder when the scroll behind her shifted shape into a floating mist and began talking as well. It was distracting enough that he missed the new arrival to the little group that had collected, and any awkwardness that might have stretched between himself and the opal haired knight Scholomance was using as a pillow. Ringless, clueless, Baikal just sat their and observed. Though he did turn his head to glance at Mont Blanc as the taller man started up a panicked mutter under his breath. "Problem?"

"Yeah well, compared to 'Sorry my attempt to take you out dancing nearly got us all tortured to death', I figured 'you looked good' sounded a bit less awkward." Kairatos retorted, coloring defensively. "But hey I'm all ears, Smiles." This might have sounded a bit less convincing under the circumstances, with Kairatos clearly regretting his outburst and trying not to pick at the healing gashes on his face. Snark came easier than most other emotions, even if someone who was technically an ally like Scholomance happened to be in the path. "Did you just..." He started, trying to figure out what Mont Blanc had just done that was causing him so much distress.... but then he didn't blame him either. He wasn't sure he would have wanted to be the guy testing it out in the middle of the pews of Olympus. Right. Never mind. Introductions. Introductions were good. "Kairatos." He offered back, not sure on the etiquette in shaking hands across someone's lap, but he didn't think Hver would mind. And if she did she had hot coffee with which to defend herself.

Conchordia's arrival into the group was met with a slight smile from Celsus, who, if he would have been feeling himself, would have gone over and given her a gentle embrace of his own, perhaps a kiss on the back of her hand. As it was, he could only manage the barest of these niceties in the strained smile, which was not his usual bright, cheerful grin, or even close to it.
(Can't even do that, said the nagging voice in his head; can't even do that, can't even put on your best face anymore, because there was never a best, there was never even a second best, or a third, in fact there was nothing at all except for pretending to be as good as you are, except you were never really anything - )
His hands were shaking. Celsus stuffed one of them under his other arm to try and stop it and held the one with his ring up to look at it, trying to ignore how pale he'd gotten over the past few weeks alone - almost to Tolliver's level of lightness. He knew already that the dark circles beneath his eyes would be a blatant indication of just how little he'd slept as well, but there was hardly a way to hide that, so he'd just brushed it off.
The ring looked innocuous enough, just sitting there on his finger, but Celsus knew already just how troublesome it could be. He'd managed well enough as it was up until now, but the truth was that he was sadly, woefully inexperienced in terms of technological advances - or really, anything at all involving technology.
He was vaguely aware that, a short distance away from him, Mont Blonc seemed to be having difficulties of his own, which made Celsus feel marginally better and like he was not quite as imbecilic as he appeared. He lifted his still trembling hand and fiddled around a bit, rocking back and forth on his heels in an absentminded manner.
"How does one edit the bloody page," he muttered, jabbing uselessly at something and making it do something that was probably utterly wrong. It wasn't for lack of instruction; Mistral had clearly done her best and worked hard, it was simply Celsus' inability to comprehend much when it came to actually pushing buttons and making them work.
His head felt like it was spinning in circles, his focus slipping. Celsus grit his teeth together and accidentally called both Conchordia and Mont Blonc in his attempts at actually making the ring work properly.
"Blast. Sorry about that."
