Her vibrant, citrine eyes shifted from Umber to Jarosite and finally to the corrupt in question as they each spoke in turn. It was hard for her to say that she didn't at least understand the opinions of both men, despite the fact that they shared some vastly different viewpoints, but the senshi of seashells, herself, was just as important to the Ascendant General.
"General Umber expresses worry that is not unfounded - there are a dozen reasons to watch the senshi counterparts of our organization more closely." Both of Alkaid's hands had locked behind the small of her back, nestled above the crest of the nightmarish wings attached there. The bony shoulders rose and fell in a simple shrug, so that her cape waved slightly and the edge of the shimmering fabric brushed over the pavers beneath her heels. "Even those of us that would like to see things with optimism instead of wariness would do well to remember that we all must operate within the structure of our ranking system. We draw our strength from deference to our superiors, to their wisdom and experience, and we use that knowledge to avoid the same mistakes that have been made in the past - like those that allowed Persephone to slip away from us. We should look at this request not as a punishment, but as the ultimate form of respect."
Alkaid bowed her head, very slightly, to the corrupt that she had come all this way to listen to.
"If it would ease the wary minds of my comrades, I will give you what experience and wisdom I have earned so long as you allow me to monitor your plans - and those that would follow you to empower themselves. I think you, and all others that I have had the opportunity to know past mere acquaintance, understand that it is my every intention that you, all of you, succeed."
For a moment, none of the other soldiers in the room were of any import to the china doll standing among their number as her eyes connected with an opposing pair, bright and seafoam green. It was simply Alkaid, giving her faith to Amphitrite, and asking only for the fair trade of loyalty. It was, for the very first time since her ascension, that she had ever extended the offer of overseeing any soldier or team - senshi or otherwise.
The clamped hands behind her back unwound and she extended her right hand, pale and broken, out to the Corrupted Super. Guidance was still as much a part of her as the starseed that glimmered, broken and charred, beneath the crack in her chest.
"I have no objection."
