Tottering on the edge of getting fully wet and staying partially dry Chailee decided to end her suffering. Taking a deep breath she ducked under the water popping back up with a bit of a gasp. After wiping the water form her eyes she reached up and released her hair from the ponytail she had it in, letting her now soaked curls fall down. She wasn't a fan of feeling the weight of the massive wet bun on her head.
Glancing back to the shore she saw Illian and Lovely. Surprisingly the latter was the first to dip his toes in the water, but it didn't appear like he'd be getting in much further.
Wading out of the water to them, Chay gave the boys a smirk. "Oh, come on! Nothing in here is going to hurt you." She grabbed both of their hands and proceeded to try to pull them both into the water with her. "It's not as much fun when you stand on the bank."

Elysha chewed another cashew thoughtfully as she listened attentively as Gwen replied. "I also think life doesn't have a habit of making things easy," she gave an understanding nod smilingly in turn with her response. "I wish you all the best here in Destiny City, Gwen," she said as well, "and thank you. I'll be keeping your words in mind for sure."
She nodded again as her smile turned into a wide grin as she, too, looked toward the lake and those in their company already beginning to have fun in the water. "Yes, I am definitely ready to have some fun in the water, too," she added after drinking a bit more of her water before moving to set it aside to exchange it with grabbing her tall, noddle-shaped floating aid and placing it beside her as she shifted onto her knees one at a time to undo the clasps of her footwear. Along with said footwear, she had also left her kimono top and shorts with the rest of her belongings and was now in just her swimsuit as she waited for Gwen before entering the water to join in with the rest of the party crew already in there set on having a blast.
With another careful shuffling of the Mauvian in his arms, Colin slung an arm across Auguste's shoulders after he'd spoken to Kyle; it hadn't escaped his attention that the pale-haired gentleman had stepped aside...and that wouldn't do. Oh no, Auguste was part of their little family!
"He's also the owner of a really adorable puppy named Pasha." Wasn't he helpful? "And no, Ash isn't really a free-range beach cat...she came with Nadia too."
They had quite the little group going and being around so many people was infectiously fun, even if all he was doing so far was tormenting friends and being a very important perch for Ash. Eventually he'd get in the water. Perhaps he'd cart someone off into it with him. Slung over his shoulder like a sack of flour. Perhaps.

Nadia's smile remained, even widened a little at Isaiah's questionable chagrin. He couldn't hold the pout for long any who. She had no clue to his dwellings, or the remorse of his lost relationships, so she continued walking as if her words had meant nothing, or enticed nothing for him to remember.
Nadia took his glass though, as he downed the whiskey and watched with a curious expression. Not many could combine alcohols and she was too watered down by alcohol in general that the offered whiskey was just one more drink on her intended list.
Just a drink though, as she would be returning Auguste, herself and Ash home safely.
"Not just one." She looked at their growing group and smiled, this time looking over at Anna. "Sasha and Ana." She pointed to her own clevage. "are pleased to meet you Anna. Thanks for the whiskey, try not to get the pale haired one too drunk." She warned, because Auguste was too precious for such things.
"Lorne! Colin!" She waved over, bringing the two with her to their group, "Auguste.....Kyle, Ash." She looked at the two, "Ash is my lady, she is not just a cat but a very special friend. Please." For the sake of magical cats, "Treat her like you would a special person." And then she cocked her head. "Everyone, this is Andrew and Anna."
As Delphine questioned his mixture of alcohol, he simply offered her a smug, pleased grin. There was no actual answer - she already knew. What point was there in saying it again?
"I'm not setting my beer down so one of these punk teenagers can try walking off with it, I remember being a ******** teenager." If someone had been dumb enough to put it down anywhere near him, he would have just swiped it and taken off without question. They had to be fast enough to catch him, after all. Kam might have been a stringy teen, but he had sacrificed speed for brawn years ago. Instead he simply propped the case in one arm and settled a plate on top of it with the other, carefully weaving in and out of people until he had a plate of food piled precariously high.
The second he was done, he tossed a glance around for wherever Sana had gone, then waited for Delph so they could both take a seat.
"Hurry up, Delph, jeeeeez.." The exaggerated word was meant to be as annoying as possible, as he often tried with the dark haired blunette.
-
Sana had laid out a picnic blanket she'd had enough forethought to bring, large enough at least for the three of them - if Kam didn't try to use the whole thing as a bed, anyway.
Uninterested in the food, as she normally seemed to be, she had resorted to digging through her bag until she found a pack of cigarettes. If either of them found her seemed to be of little consequence, instead concentrated on lighting a cigarette against the wind curling in over the lake. One hand raised to shield the tip of her cigarette against the wind, the other clicking the lighter over and over, until the flame burned long enough to light it. Satisfied, she tucked the lighter in the half empty box and the box back in her bag, careful of her most prized possession.
Then she leaned back one arm, legs crooked and splayed before her, and began scanning the crowd around them. Kam or not, the gaze behind her dark glasses lingered unabashed on any hunk that strayed near her.
She drew a long, deep drag of her cig and exhaled in a fluttering puff of smoke.

Awwwe...He scared him away! Well, that was that. Dmitry looked at his phone, debating. He could go swimming or rain on Ryan's parade...In the end, ruining the old man's parade seemed more fun, but only AFTER he went swimming. He smelled like cigarettes.
Once that was settled, Dmitry put his phone on his towel and ran towards the water, belly flopping with a nice splash.
"Okay, did you happen to forget that you look like the last person someone would want to mess with just to get their hands on booze?" Delphine arched a fine brow at her friend. There was no way some pipsqueak was going to tangle with Kam, or do anything remotely close to antagonizing him. "Besides, I'm here." By the smile that appeared on her face, it was clear she was really hoping that someone was dumb enough to try and make off with their booze. Punching civilians was kind of fun on a quiet day - they were far easier to pick on than the normal people or things she tangled with.
"Holy ******** s**t, are you five?" Kam had a lot of practice with ticking Delphine off, and evidently was fairly effective with it. Somehow, he managed to annoy her and avoid annoying her to the point where she strangled him. One day he'd do the world a great favor, surely, and pass on his knowledge to some poor saps.
She balanced her plate in one hand and held firmly onto whatever concoction Kam had mixed in her other. Glancing around, she tried to locate Sana, and noting that she was not immediately within earshot did what Delphine was given to do to just about anybody. "Where'd you whore go off to?" The words weren't spoken maliciously, she was just being insensitive because she could be, and Kam was being annoying. Kam would also be correct if he assumed her next statement would be along the lines of, "I hope you had her tested."
She was looking out for her own health, okay? As well as being hyper judgmental. It didn't quite mean she disliked Sana, but it was far more entertaining to be malicious than it was to play nice all the time.
((and Delphine's free to be bothered too by anyone who dares (: ))

Sasha and Ana, eh? But which one was which? She pointed to both simultaneously.
Any more than the pair of drinks and he would tread drunk territory, he knew, but the combination of fireball whiskey and cute girls often pushed him over budget. He liked to think that no one could blame him for that - especially if they drank straight from the bottle. Refusal to polish it off was an offense to anyone else, right? No one particularly enjoyed backwash in their alcoholic beverages.
The introductions transpired quickly and easily, which Isaiah didn't mind, but he often preferred some indicator of personality quirk along with a name. It didn't bother him terribly; studying faces and body posture provided some hints of who acted how. The blonde with an arm around the shoulder of the boy named Auguste looked more outgoing than his friend (or captive). The sloucher, Lorne, might just be the pack omega. Kyle and Lorne looked like brothers or twins, with Kyle as the more extroverted of the two. And then there was Ash, a grey tabby with some stupid-looking toy stuck to her face that she hadn't bothered trying to rip off. Isaiah started to wonder about her.
Or, wait, his name was Andrew here. Right. "It's good to meet everyone. I always imagined that Nadia had very interesting friends, and I like to be right." She certainly delivered a good mix with the differing personalities here.
But he side-eyed her at the mention of the cat. "Special? Like special ed? I've never been around a retarded cat before..." He spared Ash another glance, unsure whether to pet her or leave her be. It seemed safer to leave her be.
"So how do the lot of you know each other?" He asked to the small crowd. Hopefully he'd net some interesting stories of it.

"Well helllloo~ there Miss Sasha and Ana. You are lovely, lovely ladies," commented Anna with a grin. She may have been a tad sloshed, but hey! It was a party! She eyed Nadia's chest for a little while longer before, sadly, tearing her gaze away to acknowledge the rest of the group. Some hotties, some she wasn't quite feeling it for, but they all seemed to be a great bunch of people. She glanced at... Andrew, was it, then at the cat.
"Does the kitty do tricks for food or something?" she said, eying the cat with a raised eyebrow. It had been done before, she knew. She watched it on youtube once. So many cat videos... so... many...
"I know no one, I just brought booze. Tends to make me friends, if ya know what I mean," said Annabel with a very segesitve wink and a swish of the Fireball handle again. Not necessarily the right friends, but hey!

There was so much going on and SO MUCH she couldn’t participate in! It was honestly the most frustrating thing Ash had ever dealt with… being in a group of people and not being able to share her opinion or even just greet people properly. Were she a less self-assured Lady, she might have felt her non-humanity a little more keenly and been bothered by it, but Ash was nothing if not confident in herself! She wouldn’t let a little thing like people talking over her head like she was a pet get her down!
And some of these people were treating her like the thinking, reasoning being she was. Both Colin and Nadia introduced her to each newcommer as one of the group, on equal terms. It was gratifying and Ash was proud all over again of the senshi she had claimed as her own.
The silver guardian chirped greetings where appropriate, her ears perked forward and her eyes bright. Lorne, who seemed to be with Nadia. Auguste, who was the owner of that beast that lived at Nadia’s house. Lorne’s cousin, Kyle? Who…
Who seemed to think she was a STRAY CAT?
Ash’s ears pressed back against her head as she gave an offended huff. REALLY NOW… she was FAR too well kept to be a stray. And here she was, in the arms of a lovely man, her own pillow and drink and all. REALLY. She huffed again, her tail giving little irritated flicks that were only soothed when Colin explained she had come with Nadia. Not owned by Nadia, either.
Ruffled fur smoothed and Ash relaxed again, deciding perhaps she wouldn’t hold it against the poor boy. Maybe he was just… rather dense. It wasn’t his fault.
Too bad the feeling didn’t last long, because here was Nadia back with more friends, and though she was introduced as a special person, not everyone seemed to understand that… and she was left literally gaping at the dark haired man who had… called her special ed? Ash sputtered, unable to come up with any proper cat-like response. All she could do was hold her tongue and in that moment, it was so hard not to say something that would prove to this rude man how very much NOT retarded she was. And then the other one! Asking if she did tricks! This was just getting worse and worse…
Ash squirmed in Colin’s hold, finally having her fill of hanging around in his arms like a prized pet. She was quite done, Thank you, and she wanted to be put down.
His cousin's remarks made Lorne turn all kinds of red and he cringed, waving his free hand furiously back and forth in the air. "Non non non, vous avez tout faux! Colin est juste un ami , un ami!" he sputtered out quickly, because he really didn't need poor Kyle getting the impression that he'd gone from one boyfriend to a group of people, good god no.
Still, he had to laugh at the crack about his mother - because yes, watching her bathe Kyle in affection was a sight to behold. "She just loves you, " Lorne switched to English for that, ruffling his cousin's hair now in an affectionate way. A frown tugged at the corners of his lips. "What? - Which friend? You couldn't at least tell me first? What if something had happened?" And he didn't really sound angry, but his concern was palpable. "Kyle, I love you - you need to tell me these things." Lorne was going to be the one responsible for him now.
He blushed again at the group then, because no, it was definitely just Nadia and it would always just be Nadia (unless Nadia didn't want - getting off-topic here Lorne). But his reputation, in this case, was a little less important than his cousin's overall safety.
The thing that did distract him was the realization that Nadia's... assets had names. Even if it wasn't directed at him, he subtly categorized that tidbit away in the back of his head, trying not to blush at the thought but failing terribly and just doing it anyway. Sasha and Ana.
Still, though - he wanted to be polite to Nadia's friend, but the remark about Ash made him frown. Yes, she was a cat - but she was still very much a lady, and although they'd never spoken, the knowledge was enough to breathe life into a chivalry that he rarely needed in his close-knit group of friends. "That's rude; you know very well what Nadia meant." He wasn't exactly sharp, just - he just spoke, quietly but seriously.
The brief surge of irritation was swept away as soon as it'd come, and now, he felt like the rude one. That was Nadia's friend, after all. "S-sorry. I didn't mean to be - she's just not that kind of special."

Auguste had missed entirely Kyle's insinuation about Lorne having a positive harem of people at his beck and call, mostly because Colin had slung an arm around his shoulder and it was very distracting. The prince was being nice to him, the prince was being nice to him -
"Oh!" said Auguste, and beamed. "Yes, I do have a puppy, his name is Pasha! Nadia actually helped me get him!"
He was having difficulties remembering everyone's names; there were just so many of them now, in this crowd, that trying to put identities to faces took a bit of time and effort. He knew Nadia, and Nadia's boyfriend, Lorne, and he knew Colin, of course, and the dark haired one was apparently Lorne's cousin, and the other one was a friend of Nadia's, and -
"Oh," said Auguste, in response to Isaiah's question, and he smiled at him. "I'm Nadia's roommate, we met right after I got my dog."
Colin could feel Ash getting more agitated with the misconceptions being directed her way, and he really couldn't blame her. They bothered him too. Luckily, he didn't have to speak up at the dark-haired guy's rude commentary about her being special-ed, because Lorne did it. After the tall man stopped flailing over his cousin's comments about Colin's little kiss. Kyle would get a wink, because if nothing else the blond enjoyed messing with people in a friendly manner.
A wink was all he did though, because shortly after he was busy releasing Auguste so he could crouch down and let the Silver Lady back on her own petite little feet. "Sorry Ash." There wasn't much he could do for her right then, not with civilians around, but the twinge of sadness he felt at her situation didn't go away even as he straightened to address Andrew's questions.
"Wrong way to interpret special." He pushed a hand through his hair and shifted so he was practically leaning against Auguste, who was closest to him and thus required contact. "Oh, I met Nadia through work. I'm a ballet dancer with the Destiny City Ballet Company." Colin smiled, "I met Auguste and Ash through Nadia...and Lorne...well, we bumped into each other and got to talking."
Technically true, though he'd met Ash through Thraen, not Nadia. But he'd said that Ash came with his friend, so it made more sense that way. "What about you guys, how'd you meet our girl?"

He did like the idea of drinks, Tolliver following along beside Hitch, still nervous and still wary of the crowds - but at least it was a rather nice day, hot and sunny outside, perfect beach going weather. He glanced at the ocean as they passed it, the water bright and inviting, and honestly, he couldn't remember the last time he had actually gotten in a pool or a lake or an ocean. Certainly not anytime recently, and definitely not since before his accident.
"I haven't been swimming in a while," Tolliver said hesitantly, though he obviously wasn't averse to the idea. "I don't know how, um...good I'll be, with...with my leg and all..."
He blushed a little, but this was Hitch, after all, and while he still didn't know the story behind his leg, he respected the fact that he needed certain accommodations in order to actually function properly. Not that he was an invalid or anything, but Hitch always tried to at least make him as comfortable as possible.
A little smile touched his lips. "Probably not," said Tolliver, and he leaned to press a quick kiss to his boyfriend's cheek before blushing and looking shyly away. "I mean...I'm sure there are other drinks, though we could have."

From the reactions around him, Isaiah started to wonder if he admitted to worshipping Satan and burning children to get his jollies off. Was it such a big deal to misinterpret special? Apparently so - he must've stepped into a gathering of cat worshippers, or this cat was famous online, or... Something else he hadn't considered.
One outright objected, to which Isaiah reacted coldly. "Yes, it's definitely rude of me to ask for clarification. It's also rude of you to assume that I knew what Nadia meant." But the boy seemed to cower soon after, though Isaiah didn't know why. Perhaps he really was the pack omega and feared backlash or group rejection for remarking so. It made little sense to Isaiah's mind, for he figured they would rejoice in him berating a stranger that apparently got off on the wrong foot. None of the rest responded in a manner that admonished Lorne for his actions.
As far as he could tell, the kind one here was Auguste. He sounded easy enough to converse with and responded to his question readily. Isaiah would've asked for a more in-depth tale of how the pair got to be roommates, but more answers returned to him.
"That's why I asked," he returned to the blonde, though he wondered if defending his questions really mattered here. Likely not; they seemed a close-knit group, and may thus share a group mentality. There he learned that both Nadia and Colin shared careers, and being a part of a company suggested a professional level of ability. They both looked younger than he; he imagined that they must've started at a very young age to be a part of the company. "I see. You must be very good at what you do." DCBA... He may have to look them up.
"As for me, I suppose I'm a passing stranger to both of them." He offered a smile that never reached his eyes and opened palm in quick goodbye. He knew a closed group when he saw one, and it sounded like these cat fanciers didn't want to give him a chance. Turning on heel, he went around Nadia and spared a touch to her bicep in doing so. Perhaps he'd find some other ventures in this party.
