Clara looked at Jianlei quickly. "Really?" It was a surprise that Vlad had known Henry Ford so well. She had often wondered how the man had been able to fund and begin the motor company. She smiled at the man when he offered to run her a bath. "That actually sounds....pretty nice," she said softly. "You know...most normal people would find this all unbelievable and be going crazy right about now. But me? I am taking it in stride...what does that say about me? Am I crazy?"

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí cocked his head slightly with a smirk. "If you're crazy after tonight, what does that mean for me? I was just a few days shy of nineteen when Vlad found me... and I've been nineteen years old for 150 summers," he said quietly as he shrugged; he had 'died' in the winter of 1862. "Besides, I've gotten used to strange... especially since... though officially I'm dead... well," he said wryly before he exhaled softly as he winced slightly as he heard the familiar ba-thump ba-thump ba-thump in his ears, though the sound faded into the background of his consciousness in seconds; he knew he was highly unusual in that he was able to consciously control most of his body functions.

Clara's eyes widened when Jianlei said how old he was. She did not know exactly what age she thought he was, but definitely not that old."Are you...okay?" Clara asked as she took a step closer to him when she saw him wince. Her hand reached out and she touched his arm lightly.

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí grimaced as his thigh ached even more as his skin warmed. "It's nothing he said quietly as he was about to step past her when he noticed the shocked look on her face.

Clara pulled her hand back away from Jianlei's arm. "Well if you're sure..." She had felt an odd little spark go between the two of them just a moment ago. "Perhaps we should go inside then." She rubbed her hands up and down her arms as she looked around. "You say this is a safe house, but I am still a bit spooked."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí exhaled softly as he grunted slightly as stepped into the safe house. Unfortunately, his leg crumpled beneath him, causing the side of his head to ricochet off the doorjamb with a sudden thud. "Most vampires... will retreat from here... blessed silver, holy water, sunlight... exsanguination, decapitation... they'll take out the threat. I could sense veins of natural silver here... only thing better would be holy land," he said quietly, hoping she didn't immediately notice that his pauses were from the intense pain shooting up from his left leg.

Clara gasped, wincing as Jianlei stumbled. She hurried over to him, grasping a hold of his arm as the door to the safe house shut behind them. "You are in pain," she said softly as she moved so that she was looking up into his eyes. "Please...let me help you. You are hurt...because you were protecting me. It's the least I can do for you."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí was quite surprised when she supported him enough for him to regain his equilibrium. "If that is what you wish," he said quietly, a bit unsure as he did, admittedly, find her beautiful. "It likely doesn't help that I have not encountered another vampire for close to a hundred and twenty years... so I am very... rusty, if I remember American slang, right," he said wryly.

Clara smiled softly as she helped him to the couch to sit down. "Yes that is the correct term." She looked around the place. "Okay...so to find the bathroom. I am going to assume that's where cleaning supplies should be. I mean that's where I keep mine at home. I'll be right back. Don't move." Clara smiled at him as she left the room in search of the bathroom. Nearly ten minutes later she came back with peroxide and bandages. "I do hope this helps you....It's the best I can do."

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí sat on the couch, his ruined jeans cast aside and the left side of the tight boxers pulled up out of the way, revealing the four deep cuts freely bleeding; he wondered if she'd noticed his unconscious habit of removing his shoes upon entering a home. "It can't hurt anything," he said quietly.

Clara's cheeks flushed slightly as she saw that he had removed his pants so she could get better access to the wound on his leg. She uncapped the peroxide and slowly poured it onto the wound, the washcloth ready to wipe it gently. "Tell me more about yourself Jianlei. Anything at all. I feel like you know more about me then I do of you." She continued to slowly clean his wound.

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí tilted his head slightly, his expression thoughtful. "I was born a humble blacksmith's son... though I haven't picked up a hammer for close to a hundred and forty years... though I have found it is as you say 'unforgettable' or 'like riding a bike'," he said quietly, wincing slightly as she cleaned the wound, which was quite deep. "Most of the time, I was where I was often seen, but rarely noticed, and much like Vlad, I knew when to move before being noticed," he said quietly.

Clara listened quietly as Jianlei spoke. She could not believe how old the man was. He didn't look any older then she herself was. "I still cannot believe...that this is all real," she said softly. "Just yesterday I was just a secretary in a law firm. I was nobody special." She held up the needle and thread that she had also retrieved. "Should I stitch you up? Or will you heal fast enough so that I don't have to?"

Jianlei Tsukino Jiànleí cocked an eyebrow before he grinned. "Hey, I've lived as long as I have, and I still can't believe it," he said quietly. "Most injuries I heal within a day or two... but I've never taken wounds this deep before... so maybe four... five days to heal it... sew it up to be safe," he said quietly.

Clara nodded her head as she stuck the thread through the needle and then began to slowly stitch up his wound. "So what do we do now?" She asked once she had finished and stood up. She looked down at him, her hair falling into her face slightly. "How long do we stay here?"
