It seemed a break was much needed as Dewott was breathing hard by the time the Azurill went down. Jay called him back, listening to make sure both he and Scyther were alright. They'd been at this for a while, but the swarm of fairy pokemon seemed to be at least somewhat dying down. They had started in hoards, but now it was a trickle of two or three at a time. In fact, the next ones that appeared came together, just two of them, but for the first time, they were two different species. Still, though... psychic-fairy or not, steel moves would work on them, and he had Scyther quickly go after the first to attack.

The Ralts accompanying the Mime Jr. seemed to grow frantic as its friend was cauught, quickly moving forward and almost letting Scyther hit it. JD picked up on some of it, turning his head to listen for some cue from his pokemon on whether something was wrong, but, upon hearing nothing, tossed another pokeball. He had one left... It seemed he was most likely going to need to make a trip to the poke mart after all. If these pokemon would allow it...

While the boys were having their battle fiesta, Jesse and Zoey were exploring the festivities. Neither of them were really adept to play the games, or hold tickets, for that matter, but the were both willing to give it a try. In fact, surprisingly, Jesse was the first to attempting, giving the fishing a go, but accidentally dropping the net and breaking it in the water before she could really get it under any of the little Wailmer. Zoey swept down, taking the single ticket in her mouth, deciding to play ticket keeper while Jesse gave the games a go. She was bigger and, honestly... had a few more limbs to try and work with.
Back outside the festival, Jay had used his last pokeball on a Cleffa that Dewott cut down. He stepped back, sending the pokeball to the PC like the others, but called to his pokemon that he'd be back, and to fall back and avoid battling till he returned. He turned and ran, snapping his fingers quickly to try and avoid running into anyone or anything, occasionally getting some very close calls. He'd been practicing this his whole life, though; he was fairly good at sensing things as well as using his echolocation. He made it to the mart and back fast, luckily it wasn't far away, breathing a bit heavily from the sprint. Man... he really needed to work on his own training and get himself into shape...

Considering Dewott had evolved, was likely getting pretty high in levels, and would also most likely be necessary for defeating the first gym leader almost regardless of what region JD started in... He went ahead and had Scyther move forward as another Cottonee stepped forward. The flying-bug pokemon was able to easily take it out, and meanwhile, the girls were earning tickets with Beedrill working her way to a great score in the arcade. Who knew bug pokemon had video game skills?

Another Cottonee followed after that, brought down just as easily. JD tipped his hat up, scratching his head and listening for more in the distance. They definitely seemed to be dying down... thank goodness. He could use a break himself, and it was probably time for lunch, if not dinner. Scyther and Osh-- Dewott had gained a lot of experience with their new moves battling so many pokemon, and clearly that had made them stronger, if Dewott's evolution was any indication. Hopefully the swarm would die down enough that they could retreat to the pokecenter, and find the girls.

Unfortunately the girls' luck seemed to putter out there, as Jesse, using her poison sting, only popped one balloon. Zubat screeched a muffled reassurance through the tickets in her mouth-- after all, it wasn't an attack Jesse had used often, given her limited... well, not battling experience, but offensive experience. Besides, they'd already earned quite a few tickets.
Scyther was starting to look a bit tired, but still ready for battle, as he stared down the togepi before him. JD was starting to seriously consider just how rare those things really were, considering how many of them had shown up... and he definitely wasn't catching this one. Luckily it was just as easy to bring down.

Jesse buzzed in disappointment as she pretty much failed the Ring Toss. She managed to land one, but... that didn't qualify for much. It seemed accuracy was really something she needed to work on.... Good thing she wasn't battling any of those pokemon Jay was up against. Zubat collected the two consolation tickets, but fluttered down to land on her companion's back. These tickets were getting heavy...
Speaking of their trainer, Jacque frowned as an unfamiliar pokemon showed up. Evidently, it was an electric mouse-fairy type, and after pausing a moment, he decided to catch it, frowning as it didn't go down from the first attack Scyther landed on it. Right... electric types were resistant to steel. He grimaced, but luckily the pokemon used a simpel Tackle attack in retaliation, and he was able to catch the pokemon after Scyther's next attack took it out.

As usual, Jacque prepared to send the captured pokemon to his PC, but he raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth in surprise as the pokeball snapped open before he could. "Dee!" The pokemon squeaked and ran over his chest and around his back before he could even blink. Before he could recover from that and make a sound, it rounded his other shoulder, slipped under his vest, and dived into his shirt pocket. "Whadin thuh..." Pulling his vest aside, JD tilted his head, listening and reaching up towards his breast pocket. The little thing had moved fast, but now it was still, breathing hard, but quickly growing still and then curling up. He could feel it quietly nestling in his shirt and, apparently, falling asleep. Well... Apparently this one was staying with him...
He glanced up as yet another Cottonee appeared, but didn't bother giving any orders; he knew Scyther knew what to do.

Frowning in uncertainty, JD hesitated before letting go of his vest, letting it lay back over his shirt. The Dedenne didn't seem bothered by it, and he shrugged. Well... if the little guy-- girl?-- was comfortable, then... He shrugged, pulling his hat off and running a hand back through his hair. There was a good lull in pokemon, and he gestured to Scyther and Dewott, motioning for them all to start back towards the festivities. He turned his head, stopping as another Cleffa appeared, but decided not to catch it, letting Scyther dart back and quickly wipe it out.

It wasn't until they were pretty much amongst the festivities again that another Cleffa appeared. Jay stopped, but didn't turn, simply moving his head to listen, making sure Scyther was fine as he took out the opponent. He was pretty sure that was either the last... or almost the last of them. Their numbers had certainly died down substantially.
Moving further into the neighborhood, JD crossed paths with Jesse and Zoey, collecting the tickets with a chuckle of amusement from the tired zubat. With everyone back together, including their new teammate, it was time to get some food, and make sure everyone was healed.

With everyone healed, Jacque decided it was time for some food, buying his pokemon each a small bowl of food and then heading out so they could enjoy some of the festival cuisines he'd been smelling. There were definitely some things he hadn't tried out there before, and he ended up buying himself some cake pops, and Dewott what was basically a candied squid on a stick. The water pokemon seemed to enjoy it, meandering over to try the Ring Toss game, and successfully landing two rings to earn five tickets, which he handed over to JD as they walked.

Jesse didn't seem hungry, but wandered over, clambering up onto one of the counters of a darts game, and giving it a go with her poison sting attack. Unfortunately, she only got the consolatory two tickets, but Jay reassured her all the same, reaching down to pet her between her and antennae, and take the two tickets she gave him. He honestly wasn't even sure what he was going to buy with these things, so he wasn't too worried on trying to get the most of them. He just wanted his pokemon to enjoy the festivities.

Despite having decided to go for the Wailmer, instead of the Magikarp, Dewott didn't seem to be having much more luck. The net broke, and he could practically feel steam coming from his ears. Were these things seriously rigged!?! He took the ticket and marched off to join Jay, who seemed to be turning his head, listening around him, only to turn to his pokemon. "Whaddo y'all think 'bout headin' on over ta one've them other islands?" he asked the group. He got a chittering, mixed response, but overall, no one seemed to have any disagreements with the idea. He nodded. "Alrigh' then, le's gedonit," he decided, turning on his heel to stride towards the docks.

Reaching Five Island, Ajicka stopped into the pokecenter, wanting to make sure her pokemon were healthy, but also deposit those she wouldn't be using for a while. She could feel Deoxys' presence entering the back of her mind, like someone pressing a warm towel gently to the back of her head, but ignored it. She worked at the computer for a bit, then turned, releasing the three pokemon she had caught for Lady Selphy. "I've already sort of discussed this with some of you... but I want to ask you three again. I caught you because a woman wanted to see you, and I appreciate you helping me with that. I don't have plans for you... but if you want to stay, I'll make them. I'll find you a good trainer or work with you myself. But if you'd rather go free... Now, or later... You have that option. I need to make room in my party, though, so I'm asking now, before I send you to be with some of my other pokemon. Do you want to leave?"
She looked between the pokemon, her blue eyes dark and serious, searching each of them. They seemed to consider a moment, Houndoom shifting his weight on his paws and bowing his head, looking indecisive. The other two stood still a moment, then shook no. She turned her gaze to the fire pokemon, who lifted his head, giving a bark, and then a shake of his head as well. She smirked. "Huh... Well alright. Thank you," she said, returning them, and placing them in the PC. She would hold to her word, one way or another.
With them deposited, as well as a few others, she headed to find Elle, locating her, ZK, and Ivysaur a little ways away, where they were just coming out with seven tickets from the Arcade.
