Chel was pinned momentarily by a shadowling. It was strange, to have a gaping jaw so close to her, but not feel a single breath or hear a sound beyond guttural screaming.
So inhuman was the beast that Chel found no moral qualm dragging a foot into its stomach and using the spare time to stand herself up. The swordstaff dragged along the ground as she hunted her assailant, and the sound it made when it collided with shadow was nothing short of satisfying.

Chel was not the most respectful person (in fact she was probably the least reputable person here). This applied even less to the dead, because Chel considered them already gone and useless.
So when she had to trample a few deceased bodies to slash through some shadows, she didn't feel all that bad. There was a sense of "do what needs to be done" in her steps and tackling monsters was somewhat mindless. Rather, it kept her mind off of the real questions that mattered.
Questions of memory, of past, of time. She didn't know where she'd come from and it bothered her. She found herself questioning her every move, and the moves of others too. Why were any of them acting the way they were?
It was freaky. She didn't like it.

I AM USING ***BALLISTA*** AND THE CURRENT DAMAGE DONE IS 264
No point in having helped load those ballistas if he wasn't going to use one. As soon as Wrath managed to slam his way through the shadows that lined the walls, and those that attempted to take him down, he made his way towards one.
It was extremely awkward to use, unlike anything Wrath had ever managed before, but he did what he could, muscles bulging as he exercised his brute strength to get the thing aimed before he let loose on his target.
It rather effectively wiped out several shadowlings, but, also quite effectively, left his staggering back.
Somebody was going too have very bruised ribs.

It was at least effective enough, despite the backlash, that Wrath decided to go ahead and try his hand at it again.
Much like the first time, it was a struggle, even with his strength, to get the thing aimed where he would like, but once it was fired, it cleared through another swath of shadows.
And much like the first time, he was sent staggering back. This time he was pretty sure he'd heard a crack.
Ah well!

He might have gone again, but something clawed at him from behind, he whirled around, his hammer grabbed from where he had placed it on the ground at the ballista base. As he turned, the hammer clipped the shadowling, knocking it back but not completely away.

The shadow was quick to attack again, brandishing its claws a second time, leaping at him at such speed that he could not hope to dodge it. His arm was hit, this time, but only because he turned to block with his non-weapon wielding hands gauntlet, before he swung again, delivering a more solid blow against it's head, his hammer smashing through it's skull.

There were shadows and people scurrying all about her. The blood rushed in Momo's head as she turned this way and that, drawing her sword. Violet eyes trying to focus when she was suddenly attacked in the hallway.
Bringing her sword up, she swung at her attacker. She wasn't going to be taken out so easily in this dark enclosed space.

She had finally made her way outside into the courtyard where everyone else was fighting. The air was filled with the sounds of battle as other knights were fighting off the mobs. Some were having an easier time of it than others.
As a creature lunged at her, Momo swung her sword. Slicing it across the face she sent it howling to the ground before stabbing it in the chest.

As she moved across the courtyard, Momo stopped to help where she could. Her foot getting tangled on some debris almost sent her falling face first into the dirt.
One of the creatures tried to take advantage of her stumble but she sent them reeling with a smack to its ugly face with the butt of her sword. Finally gaining her footing, her arm stung a bit as a bit of blood seeped through her clothes. "Dammit. Little ******** class="quote">

In all the fray she had somehow found herself near the ballista. The huge crossbows were a bit intimidating. But Momo loved big weapons. The bigger the better. So much more damage to be done.
An empty one, still cocked and loaded, was just sitting there. Sheathing her sword, she began to turn the ballista the best she could. It was heavy for sure. But once she pulled that lever and the heavy thunk of its payload taking off filled her ears she couldn't help but grin.

Her enjoyment with useing the ballista was short lived as she was quickly swarmed by a small mob. Drawing her sword once more she set to defending herself and the ballista.
They obviously saw how devistating the weapon was and wanted to tear it to pieces.

She was getting tired of seeing all these ugly little creatures scurry about in her home. Momo hacked and slashed her way through them the best she could. Taking out as many as could as she made her way around the courtyard, abandoning the ballista for now. It just drew too much attention and she didn't plan on dieing.
Not here at least. Not now.
There was still too much to do and she was not ready to die in the beginning. There were too many fights to still fight. And win. These dark creatures would not drag her down into their pit of darkness to rip her to pieces and scatter her aches to the wind.

There was only one correct way to enter a battle zone, and that was with guns ablazing. Or... ballistas ablazing probably made more sense here. Good thing they were already loaded, at which she barely contributed at loading. GO TEAMWORK.
Jala made her way to one of the large crossbow thingies, aiming at the shadow creatures. She probably didn't even need to bother with aim because they were practically everywhere. "Andddddddddddddddd FIRE!!!"
She let the shot fly, grinning contently as she heard the satisfying shrieks of the shadow, followed with a loud "OW" of her own because that whiplash. :C
