Noah gave a loud yawn, using both his paws to cover his mouth in the process. He was having a harder time than Lafayette keeping awake; it was kind of him to try and keep up with his trainer but really, it wasn’t working to well. The Aussie allowed the Dewott to once more climb up onto his back, still nursing the coffee as the pokemon slowly slipped into sleep, lightly snoozing on his back. Well, it was kind of him to try.

Cheri led the way towards the ruins and Lafayette followed close behind. He tried to keep his focus to prevent from tripping; it’d be a shame if he dropped his coffee, Noah or both just because of tripping over some stupid rocks. He tried instead to focus on the ground below him to avoid the rocks that littered the place. It seemed that Cheri was heading for inside the building, which meant even more focusing on his part.

This place was kind of like the previous ruins they’d been in; which made sense. Unova was riddled with ruins of all sorts and sizes, said to originate back from the ancient times when two brothers wared over conflicting ideologies. One for ideals and the other for truth. He didn’t really get it; weren’t they one in the same at times? Why war over something like that? Even more, why had the dragon split in two just to side with each brother? That was dumb.

Maybe that was how Team Plasma had developed their own ideologies, from the legends of old. Which is probably why they’d ended up conflicting in the end. He liked to think he operated off of truth; more so because it was pretty straightforward. The truth was… the truth. Ideals were… well, ideals. And hardly ever correct. That’s pretty much what he’d felt when his actions got him kicked from Team Plasma, they stopped caring about the truth they supposedly supported for lackluster ideas. Or something like that. He was too tired to really think much about it. Cheri returned a little bit after with an egg in paw, having scrummaged around the edge of the ruin doorway for the egg. Good, good. Lafayette set his coffee down, tucking the egg in his bag and then retrieving it before yawning again and summoning out Dova once more. Just a couple of more places.

It was odd that their next area would be a tower. Odd, and tiring just looking at it. As much as he wanted it, he highly doubted they’d be able to completely finish this event. Which was a real shame, he would’ve liked the feeling of completion that would have come with it. Plus those prizes, those were good too. If they had been just a bit further in their journey, they probably would’ve been able to actually complete something as extensive as this event.

With a glance back at Apollo, Zak silently considered the suggestion, and in the end, made a swing by the store, casually asking Apollo to go in while he found his wallet-- he'd pay him back when he did. No need for the guy to know his age, after all, even if he could buy it himself. He just didn't want to risk getting carded, and having Apollo catch the year. Especially because he didn't actually know Apollo's age, either-- he just assumed he was old enough to get alcohol, given his suggestion. And while Zak was pretty sure he could go into a bar without getting asked for his ID, in most cases, he'd still rather leave those topics off the table. He wasn't interested in learning about each other, at the moment...
Making his way along the bridge leading to the tower, Zak swung his bag down and set it onto the metallic surface, before pulling off his shirt, and sitting down to remove his shoes. "You do much swimming?" he asked, casting a glance to the blond. It wasn't to learn-- it was just to know what all to expect. Whether he was going to have to be keeping an eye on him, or whether he would be able to do some free seeming.
Meebus watched Rotom's reaction as passively as ever, but he did stay, waiting out his friend's emotions. He closed his eyes, and drifted slightly and relaxing as he recovered, before turning. Once he was sure Rotom would follow, he moved to go with Zak and Apollo, Boo zooming to catch up, fretting and looking bothered and worried and nearly being left behind. The two hung back with Zak, but started wandering off as they reached the tower, and their trainer settled back in. Boo ventured towards the tower-- Meebus stayed with Rotom. 'Do you have many pokemon companions with you, |20+0|/|?' he asked, turning back to the pokemon.

Pleased to include alcohol into the equation, Apollo didn't footing the bill for their purchases; it wasn't like he was hurting for cash -- when had he ever been? -- and it was a purchase that benefited both of them, so there was no need to pay him back. As... surprised as Vandal's 'admittance' might've made her, Mila was quick to recover and set the disguised Zoroark with a flat, unimpressed look. "Yes, I could," she answered. "After all, life is full of disappointments and let down's. Who knows, maybe, someday down the line, you'll look back on this and be grateful I said no -- because that's what led you to meet your soulmate." "Or, maybe you'll wisen up and leave her like you did your old trainer, and find someone who'll treat you the way you deserve." The second comment was uttered much softer than its predecessor, as she still had misgivings of introducing him to Apollo.
She shook her head, half amused half exasperated. "You'd get more than your fair share of looks. After all, what would you say if you saw a human holding a Delphox's arm?" Mila questioned, subtly reminding him that, to those who came across him, he still appeared as an ordinary trainer. At his mention of getting lost, however, she halted her steps and allowed the distance between them to decrease before Vandal fully took the lead; she'd already gotten lost in one city, no need to make it two. "Huh," she huffed thoughtfully. "It certainly sounds... interesting." Mila quickened her pace, just enough so that she could walk beside Vandal. "I look forward to seeing it."

As eager as he was to get into the water, Apollo hung back, letting Zak go ahead of him, to release Beau and Sylvia; through all of this, he'd somehow still managed to remember that he had to train his team. "You two are in charge of the team," he informed them both, much to their surprise -- it was all rather sudden --, before he turned around to join Zak, plunging into the water with little hesitation. "I've visited it once before." The blonde answered after resurfacing, right hand coming up to to brush his hair out of his face. "It's a decent enough city. If we had more time, I'd give you a town map-guided tour." Even if he'd been here before, he didn't know the city that well.

There was a beach and this... odd tower, so surely they could find some activity to preoccupy themselves with.

Mila laughed, genuinely, at Vandal's suggestion. It wasn't that she found the idea of being his 'soulmate' preposterous (okay, maybe she did), it was just that she could only take so much 'cheese', so to speak. "I don't know," she answered, after a fit of giggles. "Maybe throw yourself into your work?"
She shook her head, and made certain that Vandal could see the rolling of her eyes in the process. "You're certainly a fool..." she agreed, teasing. Somewhat. With all this talk of the infamous Scarlett, Mila almost wanted to meet the redhead, almost; she doubted she'd get along with the woman, and the last thing she needed was to get into a fight with a human she didn't even know. "If you really want to know, you should find a way to read her mind," she suggested. It was the next-best option of earning a person's trust and having them actually tell you what they were thinking. The vixen shook her head, a vague response to Vandal's words, before she reached a hand out to squeeze his shoulder. "It's your life." So, presumably, he knew what was best for himself.
She scoffed, unconvinced. "You'd think that, but humans are notoriously nosy," she muttered. The same thing could be said about certain pokemon as well, but it wasn't polite to name species -- or names. Mila stared long, hard, and disapprovingly, at Vandal, and allowed their eye contact to linger for several seconds before she looked away. "Absolutely not," she replied, finally. At this point, she was looking forward to seeing this play. It would give her a reprieve from Vandal's commentary.
The play, though stranger than Vandal had explained, was not without its amusement, and even though Mila didn't laugh as much, or as hard, as her vulpine companion, she enjoyed herself nevertheless. And stood up with Vandal to give the cast its well-deserved applause. "That was... interesting," she confessed as they left the theater, a smile playing at her lips. "I think my favorite part was when those... craftsmen went about their plan of assuring their female audience members that the Pyroar and sword weren't actually really -- honestly, no one's that dim." Still though, the ridiculousness of such an idea was what had made the scene so amusing in the first place. A light rumbling of Mila's stomach prevented the pokemon from continuing with her review, and with a sigh she placed both paws across her abdomen. "Do you know a good place to eat? I'm starving." Of course, she knew the Pokemon Center could offer her a meal, but... like her trainer, she'd had her fill of the Center and its food for a while.

Zak scoffed, but flashed a smirk so Apollo knew he wasn't being dismissive of the suggestion. He didn't pursue it, though. It was odd... he almost didn't want this to go anywhere? Some part of him definitely did, but another part, growing in the back of his mind, just... wasn't up for it. There was too much going on, he wouldn't be able to enjoy it, or he'd get frustrated, and ruin it. He just wanted to... relax, and not worry right then. Not about where things were going, what was going on, or about any expectations or considerations. He drifted on his back, looking up at the sky, but glanced over when he noticed Apollo releasing his pokemon, his gaze shifting to his own things. Ten might enjoy the water... Despite her typing, he was pretty sure she could swim... Especially now that she'd evolved.
"'Map-guided'?" An amused smirk crossed his face as he shifted his attention back to Apollo. He couldn't help looking him over a bit -- he looked good with his hair wet, and he hadn't noticed the little strip show he got in return -- but managed to keep his focus mostly on the conversation. "You vouldn't try and get us lost and vander us into some convenient, cozy little hotel room, vould you?" he teased, swimming a bit closer. He reached past him, though, to grab his things and tug his pokeball belt closer. "Mind if I release anuzzer pokemon, by ze vay?" he added, not looking like he was really eager to wait for an answer.
Meebus looked at his friend carefully, though of course, his expression just remained as vacant and passive as ever. He blinked, then turned slightly, looking at Apollo. "... He seems like a decent person..." he remarked absently. He looked back to the other rotom at the suggestion of doing something, though, blinking simply. "... I suppose so," he mused, staring at the tower now. His visage flickered slightly, before he started moving towards it. "It wouldn't hurt to see what's inside..."

Apollo winked at Zak, a grin visible. He'd made note of it before, but now he couldn't help but to consider it again, how odd the other was acting. Or at least, different, and just like before Apollo found himself curious about the reason why; Zak came off as the unperturbed type. Still, he wasn't going to ask, it wasn't any of his business after all. He was, however, going to continue to enjoy their conversation, and the light, flirtatious overtone of it. He was still concerned about Cyrus, and while he certainly hadn't forgotten what he'd told him, he... wasn't going to concern himself with it. Not now at least.
Churning the water with his feet to stay upright, Apollo chuckled. "Well who wouldn't want to stay in a hotel, after aimless wandering?" he mused. "I am holed up in a hotel for the night, though. You could come back with me, if you need a place to dry off and change clothes." He kept the offer friendly, but the free of insinuation. Keeping his gaze concentrated on Zak, he raised an eyebrow when he drifted closer, but ultimately relaxed his expression when the male simply reached for something. "Go ahead," he encouraged, turning himself slightly so he could see the pokemon Zak let out, curious. "How many pokemon do you have?" he asked, posing the question while they were on the subject.
Even without his shoulders, |20+0|/| did his best to motion shrugging. He kept his back to Apollo, keeping from looking at the human, but other than kept himself neutral. "h3 15n'7 7h3 w0r57 (He isn't the worst)," he agreed, and left it at that. Far more expressive at his friend's agreement to explore, he started following after Meebus as he headed into the tower, but ultimately zipped ahead to peer inside. Inside he was greeted by an ice cream cone shaped pokemon, who was just as surprised to see |20+0|\/| as he was. His instinct was to attack it, and was quick to dispatch it despite the pokemon fighting back. "fl35h135 bu1l7 4ll 7h15 (Fleshies built all this)?" he questioned, absently, his body heat melting the snow left over from the last attack. "wh47 f0r (What for)?" It was so hard trying to figure out, and then understand, the reason why humans did... well, anything beyond their biological needs.

It was a wonder how Vandal could just continue to smile, throughout the entirety of their conversation.. "Find like-minded individuals to surround yourself with," Mila suggested, though from her tone it was obvious she wasn't concerned about him becoming 'boring'; mostly because she couldn't imagine him ever being that. "Hmph." Without warning she struck her hand out to pinch Vandal's cheek, keeping mind not to hurt him, and warped his smile as she pulled on it. "Who are you, my mother?" she mused, responding to his warning. "Don't you ever get tired of smiling?" Mila questioned as she kept her grip on his cheek, tugging it up and then down. "You'll wear your cheeks out, if you keep it up."
Eventually, she released her hold then crossed her arms. She'd told herself to just bite her tongue on the subject, several times now, and she was going to continue with that, but Vandal's depressing talk of his relationship with his trainer was getting to her; in the fact that it was angering her. "Let's talk about something else," Mila proposed abruptly. If this kept up she'd pinch his cheeks again, only much harder and for a different reason than the last. She forced herself to relax, exhaling out and rolling her shoulders back. Vandal was certainly caught up on her not holding onto his arm, it wasn't that big of a deal; she knew how to keep up with someone. "On the contrary, I think I'm saving myself," she remarked.
"Hm." Mila considered the explanation Vandal gave, before ultimately breaking out into a grin. "I get the feeling that, if given the opportunity, you'd be perfect for their role." That overconfidence in one's ability, the character description fit Vandal to a T. Sadly their review of the play was cut short, by Mila's growling stomach, no less, and gave the fox a new priority. "Ha ha, very funny." She made certain the sarcasm in her voice was audible. Far too hungry to dwell too long on his words, she eagerly followed him to a small establishment, her nose twitching at the smell of fish wafted from the restaurant. "Sushi?" She wasn't against his choice, far from it in fact, she just couldn't remember the last time she'd eaten such a delicacy. But, that did bring up a new concern. "And just how are we supposed to pay for our meal?" she questioned. Restaurants weren't exactly keen on giving out free samples, and she certainly didn't have any money on her.
