"Help me, help me, help me, Oh Arceus please help me!" Eris trotted forward, pushing past the grass to stand guard over her trainer. Even with this.. creature's plea for help, she couldn't very well lower her guard. "Don't let it touch meeeeeee!" 'It'? Eris tilted her shaggy head to one side, her concern growing even more. There was more than one of them? She hadn't even considered that outcome, and it only increased her concern. It-- they were coming closer. Her nostrils flared. "Is that a fire?" she spun on her heels and managed to call of two, short barks to warn her trainer before a weight crashed into her side and bowled her over. There were claws, and teeth and oh goodness there was a fire: it was dangerously hot and far too close to her flammable fur. Not to mention the skull-splitting yowl that rang through her ears as the pokemon atop of her continued to cry out. "Oh Arceus, what is this!? It's big and furry and pfffft-- I got it in my mouth!"
With Eris distracted that left Apollo defenseless, something the Absol was hoping to prevent; but she couldn't quite shake her attacker. Above the sound of pitiful cries of pain and yowls a buzzing ensued, an unfamiliar and new attention-grabber that pulled Apollo away from the scrap in the grass and right above the vegetation.
"Oh." Apollo blinked twice, shifting and readjusting his gaze, when he found himself staring face-to-face with an angry face-- or, well three faces. Three, yellow faces that all displayed the same angry expression. Its wings vibrated through the air furiously, and its small body-- or faces, as far as he could tell its entire 'body' was nothing more than just those three faces-- twitched at odd intervals. The musician didn't need to be a mind reader to tell that the pokemon in front of him was angry, and that the stinger it wielded-- it had taken him a while, but he'd finally been able to identify a new part of its body besides its numerous faces-- wasn't just for show.
There wasn't much he could do in a situation like this: he didn't need to turn around to be able to tell that Eris was still occupied, and there wasn't enough time to-- just as he was going through his options, a momentary shake from one of the pokeballs situated on his hips and a flash of red derailed him from his train of thought and distracted the other pokemon. Kahn, who had sensed his trainer's distress from inside his capsule, took a moment to shake himself out before he launched himself into the air and promptly knocked the flying insect out of the sky, landing back onto the ground on graceful paws. The backwards glance the pale cat afforded him said it all: 'You're welcome, you pitiful meatsack.'
He took the look with an upturn of the mouth and a shake of the head, his free hand dipping into his pocket to retrieve an empty pokeball; no use in wasting this opportunity. Apollo threw the pokeball at the unconscious pokemon and watched as the capsule rocked three times before growing still. Accidental capture complete.

Walking back out of the lab, Skye fixed her hair before looking down at the PokeBall that held her Snivy. Hopefully it was a female, because she already had a name picked out."Alright, Snivy, come on out~."Skye let the Grass Snake out, happy to see it was a female. This would work well then! Kneeling, she smiled at the small Pokemon that looked up at her curiously."Nice to meet you, Snivy. I'm Skye. I'll be your trainer if you'll let me.""Sni...."Was...that a yes? Skye couldn't tell. As Skye and Corrianna wandered through the tall grass just outside Nuvema, they were confronted by a rather defensive Patrat. Skye was...thoroughly unimpressed."This should be easy for you, Corrianna. Use Tackle and send it packing."Corrianna did just that, and rushed at Patrat with full speed. The little rodent had no chances as Corrianna stood victorious. Skye looked in a bif of awe before laughing softly."Sni?""You're a merciless little warrior, aren't you? Skye's first battle with Corrianna wasn't all that exciting. Winning was great, but a challenge would be welcome. It looked like something she and the Snivy agreed on.
Skye's communicator beeped and she reached up to the earpiece to bring up the hologram screen."Don't tell me you miss me already.""Ha! You're old man's been crying like a baby since we let you off.""Oh, geez....Anyway, what's wrong? Just wanted to talk?"Her mom wanted to see which Pokemon Skye chose, and Skye laughed a bit. Unfortunately, Corrianna wasn't interested and her mom would have to wait.
Corrianna snapped Skye out of her thoughts when she growled. Skye turned quickly to see a Lillipup glaring at the Snivy. Another challenger, huh?"Go ahead and use Tackle. That should take care of it.""Snivy!"That was that. Nothing to it.

Well, that was....Not much better to be honest. No wonder there weren't any trainers around here. Their training options sucked. Skye got her answer when Corrianna took off down the route. Well, okay then.
With their little problem dealt with Apollo prepared himself to deal with the second, and more pressing, problem: the last time he'd seen Eris she'd been tackled to the ground by an unknown assailant; there had been some noise but things had died down since then. He was right to be concerned, but it was unneeded. Although she came to him a bit battered and sporting a fresh scent of burnt fur Eris was relatively unharmed, usual indifferent demeanor with her. So at least he could cross that off his list, there was only one more thing to do and then they could be off.
He moved to inspect the pokemon Eris had left in her wake, his duo sharing a look between each other before moving to join him. Kahn, although displeased with the rather rough new companion his human had obtained in his absence he was in no mood to exchange pleasantries or confirm that she knew that he was an all too important member of Apollo's team, the pecking order would naturally establish itself.
Apollo kept a safe, but observable, distance from the pokemon and with a furrowed brow began to scrutinize it; it was no longer in motion, which meant he could finally identify it. It took only seconds for a name to pop up, its tail giving it away; the trademark flame atop the tip of a reptilian tail, he had a Charmander on his hands. An oddly colored and unconscious one at that, the way its eyes had turned to swirls gave away the latter.
He hummed lightly, one foot tapping the ground. It was obvious what he had to do next, after all his pokemon had fought it, and won. Besides, it was a rare pokemon in the wild, with an even rarer coloring; why wouldn't he catch it? That was the real question. With an unceremonious underhanded throw Apollo captured the pokemon, watching the red and white capsule rock back and forth before emitting a soft click to inform him of the successful capture.

Although it hadn't been the battle he'd anticipated, technically Apollo had found two wild pokemon for his pokemon to pit themselves against, unfortunately neither of the two seemed to have grown stronger because of it. Time to move onto the next town then. He'd heal Combee and Charmander, nicknamed Iris and Ace respectively, and then have his pokemon fight a few of the town's more stronger pokemon, perhaps even try his luck at an actual battle.
He took the time to check on the two outside their pokeballs-- there didn't seem to be any tension between the two, in fact it almost appeared as if they were intentionally ignoring each other-- and make a change to his active party before he began to head out, Eris and Kahn at his heels.

Stepping out of the lab, Zakhav shielded his eyes, closing one as he tried to peer past his hand at the sky. The clouds had shifted... it was irritatingly sunny now. Bah, no bother. At least it wasn't searingly hot. He pulled out a toothpick to stick between his teeth and the new pokedex that the Professor had given him, looking through it, grinning a bit. He was fairly sure Lillipup could be found in this area... "Povezlo*..." he muttered, pulling the toothpick from his teeth. He scanned through the pokedex a moment longer, then put it away, returning the toothpick to his lips and looking at the pokeball with a much more somber and considering expression. It was probably a good time to meet his new pokemon, then...
Tossing the pokeball up, he released the Snivy, catching the ball and looking appraisingly down at the grass type starter, eying him as he tipped his head back. "Vell zen... I'm going to call you Sotnik, alright?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow. He didn't really care if the pokemon agreed or not. "It means 'Captain'." That seemed to win the pokemon over, and he gave a nod of agreement. "Good. Zis ees Deysatnik, your new teammate. As of right now hee ees above you in ranking. Hee vill be teaching you, however... but don't get too arrogant. Hee knows Blizzard," he warned, pulling the toothpick from his mouth and throwing it away.
The Snivy blinked, pressing his mouth shut firmly, apparently sorting through how to take in this information. HIs trainer's head suddenly snapped up, and he turned as he pointed. "'Nik, take out that Lillipup for me," he added, then glanced down at the grass type, "And my name ees Zakhav, by ze vay."

Zakhav crouched down, grinning as he caught the pokeball on its trip back, reaching down and patting Snivy's head. The grass pokemon blinked and stiffened a bit in surprised, but then relaxed, eyelids lowering as it eyed Zakhav. He wasn't really sure whether to trust this guy or not... especially with such a big grin on his face at such a little defeat. "Good job, Sotnik. Your first victory. Not vehry impresseev, but..." He shrugged, giving a bit of a smirking smile as he straightened up. Nik scoffed, looking off in the other direction with a sarcastic roll of his eyes. "Sniv..." He threw a look over to Deys. "Sni sniv, snivy?" he questioned in a drawling voice. "Poooleon..." Deys replied. "Sniiiv..." Zakhav raised an eyebrow, holding Lillipup's pokeball in his hand, and flashed Deys a smirk. "You two aren't talkeeng about me, are you?" he questioned. Both looked away, and he gave a scoffing laugh, stepping forward to release the newly caught addition to his team.

Zakhav temporarily tucked the pokeball away as Lillipup appeared, blinking tiredly up at him. The poor pokemon was still quite obviously tuckered out from the very one sided battle it had just experienced with Sotnik. Who, at the moment, was staring at it through half open eyes, little arms crossed over his chest. "Let me make zis clear for you," Zak stated, speaking slowly, his head bowed. The Lillipup blinked, ears drooping back. "I am not neecknaming you. I have no plans to keep you. I caught you solely for your ability to potentially find objects vhile you are out of your pokeball," he stated flatly. Lillipup shrunk down, shuffling his feet, and looking torn between whimpering and growling.
Zakhav lifted a hand to point a finger at it, still leering down. "Zis is not an insult," he clarified, "You are useful. I vill train you, and you vill get stronger, and zen, ven I catch anozzer pokemon, I vill release you. Back here, eef you vant." Lillipup perked back up. That actually didn't sound like an awful deal. He would be trained... and he'd get to travel, apparently. Shuffling, Lillipup bowed his head, and seemed to accept the deal. "Good. I vill release you vhen eet ees time to train," he stated, returning the pokemon.
He pivoted one foot back, turning towards his starter and long term companion. "As for you two.... ve are goeeng to Sinnoh. I have somezing I need to get, and zen ve vill begin traineeng. So rest up," he stated, lifting his hand to return Deys, and then 'Nik, before turning and heading to the train station. There was at least one more thing he needed to do before he could bunker down and resume his research.
