Rowan nodded and went into the lab, as the professor finished his business, and he found himself looking around the place. He hadn't been here in years. Diaspore got free of Rowan's grip and jumped on the desk, she kind of liked the shape of the pokeballs on the desk and started moving one around. Enjoying how they moved about the desk. Rowan turned as Professor Birch came in and laid a box on the desk as well. He started handing him pokeballs and some potions and a pokedex. Diaspore pawed a pokeball, determind to knock it around the desk, and found herself losing it as it spun at Rowan. "Gekkit!" She cried as it went spiraling off the desk. Rowan looked over just in time to catch the ball. It popped open and out came the mudkip he was claiming today. "Diaspore! Watch it!" He chided the Gekkit who was about to start messing with the other balls. He chuckled as he pluckered her off the desk and looked at the Mudkip. "Why 'ello there. Me name is Rowan. Pleasure to meet you. I have a name already picked out for ya too!" He said happily bending to see the mudkip face to face. "Mudkip... Kip!"
Rowan smiled at the little blue water type. It was adorable. And he was glad he had such a clever name for her. "It's a wonder to meet ya Lithium. We'll call you Lithie for short, kay?" He said with a pleased smile on his face. Lithium floated on the water, and so did Mudkip. Technically. He was pretty happy when Lithie jumped on his shoulder. "Thanks professor. I'm sure we will meet again!" He said before he took his leave. Lithie and Diaspore in reach.

'I don't think I like this place Knight. Everyone asking what I am is starting to irritate me. I'm a dragon, yes, but it is as if they just saw the rarest Pokémon they've ever seen. Am I that rare?" the Pokémon communicated through their telepathic link. Calvin could only nod. The Pokémon didn't realize just how one-of-a-kind he was. As Calvin walked into the lab, he took a look around, the laboratory now only a distant memory. He hadn't been there in such an extended period of time. He wasn't sure if Birch would even remembered him at all. That was highly unlikely because of how many people probably approach him each day. But, seeing the lab reminded him of the pleaseant memory of receiving little old Marcella. He loved that Pokémon and she would be out of the ball if they weren't busy traversing the cities.
"I'm surprised you haven't realized how rare you are. I know I've seen a few Gallade and none of them share your gifts, that is for sure. They are all the usual psychic fighting typing. So yes, you just might be the rarest Pokémon any of them has seen up until this point," he assured Ryujin, a stern tone marking his voice. Calvin reacted the same way when he saw the Pokémon for the first time, but he'd been with Ryujin for around three to four months. The surprise factor had worn off by then. Now that he thought about it though, Birch hadn't seen the strange Gallade yet and maybe he'd want to know about him as well. But...the priority was Cresselia at the moment.
He waited for Birch to get through any business he needed to finish before approaching him. When the man was ready, he approached him, Ryujin at his side. "Professor...I think I scanned a Pokémon about a week ago in which you might want to check out," he said, handing over his dex to the man. "I encountered a trainer with a Pokémon I have only heard of stories about when I was a mere child...Cresselia. I did not inquire about how the man came to acquire it because he accused me of cheating when Cresselia was defeated by my Salamence, but I figured I'd pass on what I've seen to you." Calvin awaited the man to respond, looking over at Ryujin to find that he had been awaiting the man's response as well.
"Oh...and Professor, I'd like you to meet my partner Ryujin. As you probably already could tell, Ryujin is not a normal Gallade. I've been able to deduce that he's psychic dragon because he knows Dragon Pulse of all moves. I haven't been able to figure out how exactly he came about, but I figured you'd find him interesting as well," he said to the professor, Ryujin looking up at him with a death glare that was tantamount to the arrogant trainer's expression when Ryoka defeated Cresselia.
"Why would you...? If he tries to study me in any way, I'm definitely Dragon Pulsing you later on," Ryujin communicated to him, still glaring at him. Victoria, who was still on his shoulders, gave an quick bark to the two of them to help diffuse the situation, but Calvin couldn't take back what he already said to the professor.

Seeing a familiar face walk back into his lab, Birch smiled at Calvin and set his papers down so he could go approach the man. "Hey! Calvin right?" Birch mused. He was pretty sure that was the boy's name, his appearance was certainly hard to forget. "What can I do for you?" He asked cheerfully, but it seemed that actually Calvin had come to show him something instead. "Oh? Alright, let's have a look then!" Birch beamed, approaching Calvin to take a look at his pokedex while he explained tat a trainer he'd battled had a cresselia. "My my, that is a cresselia! How extraordinary. May I?" Birch gestured to take Calvin's pokedex so that he could plug it into a computer and upload the dex's captured information. "Thank you Calvin, and don't worry about not being able to ask, the information on your pokedex will suffice to help us out." He nodded.
When Birch finished, he handed Calvin his pokedex back and gave him a small egg shaped stone as well. "Here, have a lucky egg as a small token of our appriciation! It may not look like much, but when used correctly, it'll really help train your pokemon." He explained, looking to the gallade when Calvin mentioned it. "Hm yes.... I've seen gallade with all sorts of special colorations, but I've never heard of one with a dragon typing or using a dragon pulse before. I'm afraid that's not really my field of expertise though..." He admitted sheepishly. "I research pokemon habitats and distribution mostly. Professors Elm of Johto and Rowan of Sinnoh specialize in pokemon evolution, but I'm not sure if this has any relation. Oh, but professor Juniper specializes in pokemon origin, perhaps she could help you figure this out? She's stationed in the Unova region." Birch suggested. "He is quite a specimen though! His colors and build actually remind me of a rayquaza... Which is quite interesting, considering you gallade's dragon type, since rayquaza is a legendary dragon pokemon of the Hoenn region. It's said to rest in a tower called Sky Pillar, but few really know the location." Birch looked thoughtful before waving his hand dismissively. "That's about all I can tell you though, sorry! Hope it helps give you some direction though." Birch beamed.

Calvin was a bit surprised to see that the professor had remembered him, even down to his very name. But then again, he probably shouldn't have been exceedingly surprised. His appearance certainly was different than most. While he wore clothes like a normal person, most of the body parts that were even seen were wrapped in thick bandages, of the type that concealed almost all of his physical features beyond his hair and his eyes. So, maybe he was recognizable for that very fact. That didn't mean it wasn't impressive to remember his name. As to his question, he instantly nodded to the professor in assurance that 'Calvin' was indeed his name.
As the conversation progressed and Calvin had shown the man the data on Cresselia, the man seemed to have taken extreme interest. When the man gave his appreciation Calvin quickly said, "You're welcome Professor...anything I can do to help." There was sincerity in the statement. Calvin always wanted to contribute to the world's knowledge of Pokémon so if that meant that this was the only way to do that, he is more than happy to help. Calvin was even happier to see that he had gotten rewarded for his efforts to go to the Professor's Laboratory with a lucky egg. That was something he desired to have to help him with his training. "Thank you professor, I shall use it well," he assured him, the conversation moving to Gallade, much to the Pokémon's distaste.
After hearing out the professor, the man truly didn't do much to better explain what or how Ryujin could ever be brought to the Earth. He did point out an interesting aspect of the Pokémon's coloration, likening it to the mighty Rayquaza, Calvin's favorite bedtime story when growing up. The legend that was repeated time and time again, where in prehistoric times, Groudon, the Pokémon of the Land expanded the continents and Kyogre expanded the Ocean. The two locked in a fierce and endless battle, only to be quelled by Rayquaza the Sky High Pokémon. Calvin used to love that story as a child. It was what started Calvin's fascination with dragon and also flying types to begin with. And it made him silently wonder if Gallade could be tied to the Pokémon itself. 'The Sky Pillar...where would someone even begin to look for such a place?' he thought to himself.
"Your guess is as good as mine," Ryujin answered, seemingly just as interested in the Legendary Dragon as Calvin was. Calvin was surprised to see that the Pokémon had been listening to his thoughts, not that the intrusion was truly unwanted. But privacy was a thing. But, for the time being, Birch gave him a solid lead as whom he should be asking about his Pokémon. Professor Juniper.
"No, no, it is quite alright. I shall pay Professor Juniper a visit when time permits. Thank you professor," he said to the man, shaking the man's hand before departing the lab and heading back out into Littleroot.

Terrence took a deep breath as he looked around the area. It was a foreign region to him, being from Alola and all. His grip tightened a bit on his bag as he continued to walk. Terrence had received some pokemon from his parents as well as his brothers before coming here. They were insistent that he had them so that he could at least protect himself while on the road. It made him feel like they were babying, which they kind of were. He wasn't a child anymore, and being cooped up in the hospital for practically his entire life was more than enough to make him want to go crazy. He was still trying to figure out how he had somehow managed to convince his family to actually let him go. Sure they made him swear to always take his medicine and to always make sure he sent letters. However, it wasn't like Terrence was going to complain. After all it was his first time actually going out on his own, and to be honest it was frighteningly exciting for him. He knew he had to be careful since his body was a bit weaker than others. However, that gave him all the more reason to want to check out things in the world with his own eyes. He didn't want to go back to simply being caged in a room. It made him sick just thinking about it. It was like being in prison. That and everyone always overreacted if he fell or if he made a small cough.
It wasn't like he was glass, he wouldn't break from just one fall. Then there was that look, the look of pity most of the nurses gave him. The only people who didn't give him that look were his main doctor, and his assistant. Well that and his own family, though Terrence swore he saw one of his brothers give him a look like he was so weak that he had to be protected at all times. It was a nice thought, but Terrence didn't like to be smothered by others. He was fine, and sure he may sometimes have his illness flare up, but it was controllable. The most ironic part about Terrence was how he got a bit annoyed when others coddled him, but Terrence would never admit that he was practically a mother hen himself. He worried about people he knew all the time, always asking them if they were feeling ok or warning them when they went out. He worried himself to death sometimes when he had no reason to worry. That was just who he was, and if he could help it he'd even help out a stranger. Though most people saw him as cold, that more or less had to do with the fact that he only really helped people when the absolutely needed it. Of course if you're closer with him that's another story, but Terrence doesn't really like getting involved in things that don't concern him. Pursing his lips a bit, he looked upwards as he finally found the lab he was looking for. Slowly, he walked up and knocked on the front door "hello... anyone here? I'm... I'm here to pick up my... starter pokemon" he said, trying his best to hide his shaking voice. Darn his social anxiety! ((Out.Of.Custom-Music: ))

You could go seek him out, but he'll probably be back any moment now if you would be willing to wait a momen--" The aide started, but before he could finish his sentence, Professor Birch burst through the doors and fell flat on his face, his clothes a bit tattered. "P-professor Birch! Are you alright?!" The aide stood to go check on the large and boisterous man as he sat up. "Hahaha! I'm doing fine John! Fit as a fiddle! Just ran into a bit of trouble with some wild poochyenna." Birch insisted. This was a pretty common occurrence in the Littleroot laboratory. "Erm... Is that so....? Well you have a young man here looking for a starter pokemon." Birch blinked, looking to Terrence and then grinning a wide smile. "Oh! Well hello there son! What's your name?" He asked cheerfully, giving Terence a hearty clap on the back. "You're just in time. Let's get you that starter pokemon then, is there any one you wanted in particular?"

Terrence shifted his feet a bit, awkwardly waiting for someone to answer the door. He pursed his lips, there was someone there right? What if he had come at a bad time, and there wasn't actually anyone here. It could be possible that he had missed the professor and missed him cause he went on a field study. Then again, he should be here cause it is sort of early. He turned his head to the side to see an assistant confirm his theory that the professor was actually out doing field work. Well that sucked. He rubbed that back of his head awkwardly, as the assistant stated that Terrence could go look for him or wait if he was willing. Terrence blinked as the assistant was interrupted as someone burst through the door. He jumped surprised, and turned around to see a man with his clothes all tattered. He sheepishly watched as the assistant named the man as professor birch. Oh so this was the professor. Terrence made a note that being a researched was probably really difficult, and they had to constantly go out for field work. Terrence had thought about being a researcher, however, with his health he wouldn't be able to go out as much as he'd like. So he had to move to another goal, and being a doctor/breeder seemed pretty cool too.
Terrence was snapped out of his thoughts as the professor laughed and explained that he just ran into a bit of trouble. A bit? He was a complete mess! Terrence had to give the professor credit, he sure loved his job if he was willing to go that far for his research. It was then that the assistant pointed him out, stating his desire for a starter pokemon. Terrence gave him a sheepish smile, as professor Birch directed his attention towards him now. He shuffled his feet a bit as he looked up at him when he asked him his name. He pursed his lips "oh... my name is Terrence sir" he answered quickly. He gasped a bit at the hearty clap on his back, trying to stop himself from falling forwards. Now his back ached a bit. He looked back up as the professor asked him if there was a pokemon he wanted in particular. He thought about it, he had done some research and he was sure he knew the one he wanted "um... yes If possible um... I'd like a Treecko" he said softly.

"A Treecko you say? Good choice! They're calm and cool nature make them perfect for first time trainers." With a boisterous laugh Birch made his way into the back, briefly stopping to address his aide. "John, would you be so kind as to gather together a little starter package for this young man?" he asked, waiting until he received a nod from the other man before he continued on to the back room. The good professor was gone only a minute and when he returned he held in his hand a single pokeball, his other hand behind his back to conceal something. "Here you are, Terrence, one Treecko." Unloading the capsule onto the young man Birch grinned before he presented what he'd been hiding behind his back, a Pokedex. "And, of course, no trainer is complete with a pokedex! This little device has information on every pokemon available, it's quite useful!" The man was still going on, practically rambling at this point, when John returned, announcing his presence by clearing his throat and stepping closer. "Oh, yes! And, just one more thing for you," Birch announced, giving his aide a nod of thanks before he took his package. "I've taken the liberty to provide you with a few pokeball and potions, just to help get you started." Smiling he handed over both the package and pokedex to Terrence, though was careful not to overwhelm the trainer with the mounting items. "Is there anything else? If not, I wish you and your new pokemon fair well and a safe journey!"

Terrence looked at him as he talked about how Treecko was a good choice, and that they're calm and have a cool nature. That was good, Terrence didn't know if he could handle a pokemon that was hyper and didn't like to listen to what he said. He had enough to worry about already anyways. Terrence watched as the professor left into the back to get his new partner pokemon. He waited patiently, as the professor then asked his assistant to get together a small started package for it. Terrence hadn't known he was going to get other stuff other than his partner pokemon, and that actually made him happy. If he had some basic supplies then his journey would be a lot smoother down the road. After all Terrence would now have to look after his pokemon as well as himself. He was just glad that he was ale to cook and do other things like that. The assistant nodded at that, and both of the men went to retrieve their own things to give to Terrence. When professor Birch returned, Terrence held his gaze on the little red pokeball in his hands. He gulped, shuffling his feet a bit as he looked up at the professor again.
Terrence took the cold metal ball into his hands, and held in gingerly. It was like this pokeball was bade of glass and if he dropped it then it would shatter. Of course none of that would actually happen, but to Terrence he wanted to be careful not to drop it. Terrence opened his mouth to speak and tell him thank you, when professor Birch then presented him with some sort of device. He studied it, before looking up with his head titled to the side as the professor explained what it was. It was something called a pokedex, and that it had all kinds of information on every pokemon that was known. He stared at it with awe. This would help a lot, and he was sure to use it when trying to research about certain pokemon. He took the item from the professor and placed it in a safe location within his bag. Terrence couldn't find a chance to thank the elder man, since he was rambling a bit. Thank Arceus his assistant came back with the other things they were going to give to Terrence. Once he was handed the potions and the pokeballs he put the safely away before nodded softly. He then looked back up at the professor wished him a safe journey, and so Terrence bowed "thank you professor... this is... more than I could have asked for so... um... thank you very much" he said, before he turned and walked out of the lab. He gave a shy wave, before leaving. Now he just had to find out were the train was.

"♪ Meelooodddyyy ♪" Fabian voice came out in a sing song tone, a wide grin on his face as he peered over the back of his seat on the train to look at his friend. She had her headphones on and face buried in an instruments catalogue, clearly inattentive to him and his antics. Fabian simply quirked an eyebrow, turning to place his knees on the seat to boost himself and with a swift motion, reached over and grabbed the tops of the headphones to yank them enough that one ear was uncovered.
"♪Oh Melody, we’re almost there…~ ♪" Fabian announced again in a sing song tone, still smiling even as the young woman made a disapproving face. She wasn’t really a fan of him and his habit of getting sing-song about everything, nor was she a fan of him disrupting here clearly serious studying of the catalogue.
"What have I told you about messing with my headphones?" Fabian huffed and rolled his eyes, propping his elbows on the seat to rest his chin in his hands. "You’re drum set is fine Melody, I don’t know what you’re looking for. Besides, we’re almost to the lab! Pokemon adventure girl! The crowning achievement of all successful adventures!" He gave a sort of starry eyed look that only earned him a bit of an enigmatic look.
"I’m pretty sure Fabi, this is the easy part." Fabian scoffed again, faux expression dropping to one of a disappointed frown. "Girl, why you tryin’ to bring me down? C’mon, show a little more enthusiasm. Freedom Melody! ♪ Freeeedddooommm ♪." Fabian sung once more, whirling around and flopping back into his seat. The light-haired woman just rolled her eyes and shook her head, pulling her headphone down around her neck and returning her gaze the toe magazine. "You make it sound like you’ve been locked up this entire."
Fabian just slouched into the seat, kicking a leg up to hang over the edge. "Well I like to pretend. Makes it more… dynamic? Interesting. You know… gives SUBSTANCE to the story." He flailed a hand through the air, high enough that she could see the action from over the seat. "Need to give those writers of my biography good material and all that jazz, you know?"
"So you want them to write lies?" Fabian scoffed, immediately sitting up and peering over the seat edge at his friend, who was now semi-looking up in his direction to see his response. "Not lies! Just… very well embellished stretches of the truth. Hush your face." And with that he flopped back down on the seat, noting the slight scoff that he received in response. Ahhh Melody… she just didn’t understand what it’d take to get recognized. Or maybe she did… her father was musician already. But then she should’ve had a clue! Maybe. Who really knew. The conversation came to a halt of course as the train sounded its arrival at Littleroot Town and soon the pair were off in the direction of the lab. Fabian had to pretty much shove Melody along to get her moving, a clear sign of who was truly enthused about the given situation. Oh sure, between the two of them, they already had pokemon but you know… this was different! Not really. Even Fabian’s excitement wasn’t entirely about the pokemon or anything.... just the potential. This was something to add to his future memoir so why not? It was a way to get out there and all too.
Fabian eventually stopped pushing her along once they arrived at the doors of the lab, a grin on his face as he all but burst through the doors as though some hero in a movie. He paused and looked around before folding his arms behind his back, strolling forward with Melody just behind.
"♪Hello? How are you? ♪" Fabian began to sing as he entered the lab trying to locate a person to speak too, though he was promptly met with a smack to the back of his head that had him yelping. "No Fabian." The young man just frowned, rubbing the back of his head. "Killer of dream, Melody. Killer of dreams. Denying these people-" The young woman just smacked him again. "Stop." Fabian scoffed. Well, it was these poor folks loss and they would only have her to blame for that. Such a shame.

Birch perked up from his workstation as he heard someone rather... musical, enter the lab. Well, it's certainly been a long time since this sort of thing happened. If it wasn't a first, that is. "Hello hello! What brings you here?" he greeted, stepping out from the back of the lab to see a young male and a blond female. The husky male approached in a jolly manner, ready to help out what seemed to be a possible new pokemon trainer.
Fabian quirked an eyebrow, grin returning as the professor appeared to address their needs. " ♪ Hello there good sir-" Fabian started up in that sing song tone, halting only when he felt the aura of a glare on his back that seemed to suggest a loaming threat. He bit his lip but smiled all the same, instead folding his arms behind his back and rocking on the heels of his shoes.
"I’m here to get a starter! Something that can shake a tail feather, if you know what I’m sayin’!" He inquired normally, though pep still in his voice as did. Melody hummed in acknowledgement, turning her gaze away from Fabian and the professor and back to her magazine. She wasn’t here for the starter after all, she was just along for the ride. No reason to pay much attention, though hopefully the young man wouldn’t burst into a song and startle the poor man.

Birch didn't seem bothered at all by the sing-song response that he had received. He was used to meeting all kinds of new, excited trainers, so it wasn't too surprising to come across one that might be a bit more musical than others. "Hm, well I've got just the starter for you, then! Hold on, I'll be right back." the professor told the male after hearing his inquiry. He then turned and returned to the back of his lab to retrieve the starter and supplies. It was a bit noisy as he had fumbled some things in his rush, but he returned shortly to hand over the starter and supplies. "Here you go. A Torchic, and some pokeballs and potions to help you start your journey. Oh, and also a pokedex!" Birch said.

Fabian rocked back and forth on his heels, grinning as Birch seemed to pick up what he was putting down, nearly bouncing in his excitement as the burly man left to retrieve the starter in question. It took all his strength to not burst into song and start dancing around the lab, kept only in place by Melody who had conveniently placed herself as a sort of pinning wall just behind and off to the side of him. One wrong movement and chances are he’d be tripping and slamming into a table.
Fabian’s heart nearly skipped a beat as Birch presented him with the starter in question, the widest grin crossing his face as he snatching up the pokeball with glee. " ♪ Luck be lady tonight~ ♪" He sang up once more, spinning on his heel in the direction of the door. He just had to meet his new addition and while it was probably all right to do so right there in the lab, something just screamed that he needed the scenery of a bright sunny day for this moment. And so, that was where he’d go! Seriously, he needed a place to test this little fella’s skills, in song and beat and the confines of walls was just not the place! It didn’t even occur to Fabian as he practically rushed out the door that he was abandoning both Melody, the professor and some rather useful items.
The girl simply ‘hmph’ed, turning back and taking the items from Birch. "Thanks professor. We’ll see you around maybe." Melody remarked, taking the last of the items that Fabian had so foolishly left behind in his excitement to meet his new pokemon, tucking them away in the backpack on her back before giving him a stiff wave and following after to catch up with Fabian.

Littleroot Town smelled, well like a town nestled in the woods, something Val had become intimately familiar with on his trek from Lavaridge Town. This was the first step of many on his journey to become a Pokemon Ranger, an admirable goal in his mind. While he did enjoy his solitude, he also enjoyed helping people, many times offering his service and advice as a trail guide through Mt. Chimney's treacherous trails. As many various paths he's walked, none came with so much apprehension as this, a feeling that only mounted higher and higher as he stepped through the town with purpose towards the lab that he had been instructed to find a man by the name of Professor Birch at. It was really a quaint little town, a place Val felt he could be right at home in, however he knew his tasks would take him to some far flung places in the Hoenn region, and he was eager to get started.
He wasted no time pushing open the door of the lab and striding in with confidence, searching the room for the Professor.
