How are we going to handle the call?

I guess we'll have them communicate from different threads and I'll just quote so you know?

Anticipating this problem, Adam Payne is not the one making the call. He has an automated messenger that makes the calls for him. Keeps his hands clean and lowers the risk of the public seeing him doing bad things.

On a different note, which character would be better to make in general, Cormac (an anti-syndicate activist) or an anti-syndicate activist with the ability to survive an encounter with two hit men? Or a mix of both?

Ya'll can skip my post in the order. The Senator wouldn't be doing much other than standing in the back and giving a thumbs up or thumbs down like any father who has to take his kids shopping.

I'd imagine it'd be more entertaining if Cormac had some degree of defense. If he's going to oppose the deadliest organization of criminal masterminds, he'll need more than balls to back him up; he ought to be able to fight back or at least employ people who can.

First and foremost, as most don't ever really see it coming, he'll need to have some way to get some distance as soon as he's shot. Unless he walks around in thick body armor in open public—common in the colony, but not so much there—he'll likely get shot in the legs. If he has bodyguards, they may drag him into the train, the only nearby location with an appropriate defense against the shots.

As far as the train station goes, it has a transparent, half dome roof in the image. It'll be exposed on the other side, where my bounty hunter will be settled atop a building to fire. It also happens to be beside the rail where the the train will be passing a minute or so after the train begins to move. In other words, the most convenient spot to get away is the train itself, but if he takes the train, there's no escape, as the bounty hunter will simply descend atop the train and engage him close to apprehend him.

If for some reason Cormac decides to take the risk and make way for the stairs or elevators several yards away, the bounty hunter will abandon his spot and pursue him via jet pack.

Well in my mind, the fight will be between Lockdown and Deadlock. Cormac isn't, nor is he intended to be, very threatening. The only advantage he has is that he has information about Senator Payne's less legal activities. Cormac is very much in over his head because he is incapable of defending himself. That's why I made Omega, he doesn't like the syndicate and has the means to do something about it.

As I have it set in my head, Cormac will be shot and Lockdown will drag him to cover to prevent him from being shot again. Lockdown would most likely drag Cormac into the train because he specializes in close quarters combat and the train provides perfect cover from sniper fire. I imagine that with Lockdown getting in the way he and Deadlock would have a little bit of miscommunication.

My question is: Why ask for two people and never mention the other is in pursuit?

To see who would do it better on their own without the knowledge that there was another in pursuit of the same target. Adam wants to know who would get the job done faster on their own so he knows who to hire next time.

Wouldn't that jeapordize the mission? After all, the two bounty hunters are very independent. I don't think either would be too happy with the competition, and not just pissed at one another. Wait a second, I thought Lockdown generally didn't operate under big organizations like the Syndicate?

Will Omega be making an appearance during this mission?

Lockdown generally doesn't. He wouldn't know he was working for the syndicate. All he got was an automated message with a target name and a general image. Him being at the station wouldn't necessarily be him accepting the assignment. He would be casing the area and following the man he was told to capture. Deadlock shooting Cormac would be what springs Lockdown into action. Whether or not Lockdown has accepted the assignment by the time he sees Cormac get shot doesn't matter, what matters to him is that Cormac is being shot at and Lockdown knows Cormac is worth more alive. The instinct will be to keep the target alive and that mean Lockdown would protect him.

I generally plan to have Omega make an appearance but it would be along the lines of him expressing disbelief that the senator is part of the syndicate and leaving shortly before Cormac is shot. I am open to him taking a more active roll in trying to protect Cormac but I think the little cameo would be funny.

Adam doesn't necessarily care if sending two independent bounty hunters would jeopardize the mission. As stated in his profile, Adam is a psychopathy, not everything he does makes sense. He likes to watch people get hurt and likes to cause the pain even more. Making the two hunters struggle against each other is entertainment to him.

I'd imagine that they'd fight to a stalemate, or well, a deadlock. Where one lacks, the other excels, and it wouldn't compliment the other well if either lost.

Deadlock isn't inherently good with close quarter combat. His adaptive muscle memory requires him to observe first, which is why he generally uses guns. He fights people to be their equal, which is where he gains the name, but breaks it by carrying his advantage of an impressive arsenal.

I think that Deadlock would immediately assume he's trying to poach, which would've led up to their brawl. After having an agitating time trying to shoot him, he'd see enough to mimic his fighting style, drop his guns, which leads to them being evenly matched since Deadlock's disarmed, and they don't seem to be gaining the upper hand on one another.

Maybe Lockdown can comment about the desired status of Cormac as alive, at which point Deadlock replies that Cormac wouldn't be alive by then if he intended to kill him, commenting how it isn't how the Syndicate would want him.

And you're right, it's better off Omega make a cameo.

It probably would end in a stalemate.

Lockdown can make the needed comments to end the fight.

Having Omega go all terminator this early on would have been a little much but his cameo is going to open up potential drama with Senator Payne. Omega is talking to a guy about how Senator Payne couldn't be in the Syndicate and the next thing he knows that guy has been kidnapped. Payne is in for some pain.

Depending on when and where Omega chooses to attack, I'm kind of interested in having a moment in which Gwen tries to defend him anyways.

Omega will probably attack at Adam's home. One of those situations where he is waiting for Adam to come home. That slightly increases the odds that Gwen could run into him. I'm still working out how Adam would come out of that situation alive.

What do you guys want Talia to do in this regard? Since I have no idea what is going on, but its really rare for her to be apart from Gwen. Don't want to accidentally mess up you guys' game plan.
