Kekeovonnai waited until the adult was out of sight before he pounced, shoving the pup forward and gathering it to his chest, curling his body around it as he ducked his head into a roll. Propelled along the snow, he rolled until he 'tripped', 'unfolding' awkwardly behind a tree. He looked down at the pup in his paws. The pup looked up at him, stunned. ”Hi.” he said, amused. That had been fun! He heard sounds and burrowed them both beneath the snow, hiding himself and the pup from prying eyes...

Nehelini sat there as his Pup looked around, sniffing at the air before it clamped its jaws around Nehelini's sleeve and tugged lightly. The Dovaa smiled before standing. Looking around as he brushed the snow off before it could make his clothes wet. He nodded then the two went back towards Keke. Nehelini amazed as his Pup sniffed out the the way it had travaled. After a few moments of searching Nehelini gave up, Keke was well hidden. “Keke!” he softly called out, looking around to make sure the Adult wasn't coming back, “Keke where are you?!?” Nehelini was worried, what if the Adult doubled back realizing their ploy. Keke wouldn't stand a chance against that thing. He rubbed the back of his neck letting out a soft whimper. He inhaled softly, praying Keke was okay. ((word count: 148//300 ))

He lifted his head, rising above the snow pile, a clump of snow gathered at the top of his head between his horns. ”Here!” he called softly, ”I'm over here!” he lowered his head so that only some of the black scales were visible, striking against the snow. ”I got the pup!” he called, blowing some snow from its nostrils.

DraconicFeline I kinda wanted to give Shenra some props for a 90 dice roll ^^""" Hence the hitting of a dead bird ^^"""" Quote: Shenra Class: Orderite engineer/tinker Apprentice Location: Everwinter Plateau – Misty Inn to the Siren's Field Activity: Beginning to like the crazy Dovva girl. Interacting with: Rain, Esme, Red Shenra didn't understand the thrill of being attacked. Hunting she understood. People needed to hunt. Perhaps this could be seen as hunting, just not as stealthy. She made a squeaking noise as her protector went off to participate in his part of the hunt, then dashed behind a rather large rock to get some shelter from the mad birds. She wasn't scared of them like a sissy, it was just she had no weapons. Yeah! That was it! Shenra looked around and saw a smallish sized rock and picked it up quickly from behind her shelter, then threw the smaller one and hoped it hit something. She didn't wanna be the one who wasn't pulling her own weight. She heard the thump of the rock, and peeked around her shelter rock, and saw it had hit a dead bird that had already met a messy end. Shenra shrugged as she went back to her shelter. A hit was a hit she guessed. She heard the last cry of the vlidean and poked her head out again to make sure everything was dead before venturing out to the group, who she guessed were searching the carcasses for anything valuable. Shenra turned to the crazy Dovva girl as she called her name. She was surprised that the warrior would ask her if she wanted the loot. Her wings popped out in surprise and went over to inspect the treasures. Her mind filled with curiosity as she touched them. So many questions about what they could be made of or how sharp they really were. Perhaps she could use it for cutting things.... Perhaps something to help mama in the kitchen with cans? Or something to punch holes with? The possibilities were endless! "I-I can have one?" she said turning her head in question, "A-are you sure? You all did the work, I just hid!"501/500

I live sort of in seclusion on Serenia, and Honoka and her mother are the only source of information I have there." For the most part, that was true. She may claim Honoka and Avani as clanmates and family, but she lives near her own lake for the solitude. She was lonesome, but having good friends nearby made the loneliness bearable. "But a large bird and canine? Very interesting, I must see these for myself. Perhaps a little bit of a personal hunt is in order, even if just to see them."She looked at Honoka seeing the fear there. It wasn't a great fear, but she understood. Honoka was still young and everything seemed so big to her. Criani bent down and licked her charge affectionately on the head, "It's ok my dear, I promised your mother I'd protect you."Criani chuckled and smiled at Malta. "You are more than welcome to join us, even if just for the company. Sometimes you just need a camping buddy." Criani nodded and said, "Caves will be fine. You seem to know a lot about the area around here so I shall let you lead the way!"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Honoka was too busy to notice the adult's conversation due to her imagination of a pelt that was three times the size of an adult Magescian. If that meant three times as big as her grandpapa, Honoka didn't wanna meet it. Period. Her imagination was interrupted by Criani's lick on her head. She looked up into the deep golden eyes of the blue green khehora and saw that she would defend Honoka just like her mother would. She knew Criani would never let anything happen to her, because of all the care she had shown in hunting and khehora lessons. Honoka affectionately placed her head on Criani's foreleg and snuggled her, returning the affection of her good friend. She was also pleased that Criani had accepted the proposal of camping together. Malta seemed nice. She smelt like mama did, of dirt and growing things. "Yay!!!!" Honoka cried, "We can all play in the snow Malta!" And then proceeded to start her bouncing up and down in a circle again, this time including Malta.

The pup squealed slightly as it was moved, wiggling as they ran... ~~~ Keke panted, slowing as they neared the edge of the forest. “Nhleni?” he managed through a mouthful of fur. He couldn't see the Aiskala, but that could mean he had either managed to beyond him, or was behind him... or hidden. Keke looked around, the pup pawing in protest as he moved his head from side to side.

It was cold, but she didn't mind it so much when it was flung in fun. ”I wouldn't say I know a lot, so I'm not exactly up for leading.” she said, laughing, ”But we can find out together. That's much safer than alone.... so I say we all try to go in one direction.” She couldn't help laughing at Honoka's antics – the youngster was cute, extremely cute. ”We should find a place,” she explained, ”So we can warm up after we play in the snow?” She glanced at Criani. She didn't know them at all, but she would have to have a talk with them about going out there alone... she'd rather go with them, if it came to such a thing. ”So lets go find the cave, okay?” she said, starting forward. It was, after all, getting to a point where she would want to know where she was sleeping that night. Siksyl would find her, he always did. ”If you're ready...”

(123/1500) Interacting with: Rain and Shenra and Esme ”Sure, I'm sure!” said Red, handing her one of the sharp ones. Normally, she was not nice to a weakling who cowered behind others, but hey. Cute Orderite girl. Maybe a bit young, but still cute, right? Still... she would need to toughen up. The rock meant she had promise, so... She was going to have to see the Orderite girl climb that pillar. Just to show she was worth Red's time. Red was about to state as much when she stopped, her instinct telling her to shut the hell up and listen. The windstorm of before grew louder, blustering fog and debris over the small group. There was something in the wind, something odd... ”Ya hear that?” she asked the group, perplexed.

Quote: Roseryn Vayne Class: Unchosen Dovaa Apprentice Location: Everwinter Plateau – Siren's Field Activity: Reigning in siblings and talking to Laesara while pointedly ignoring Malikai /// To Hunt the Wind 319/1500 Interacting with: Laesara and Malikai Iris smiled at the boy, tilting her head ever-so-slightly. They didn't have any child servants at their own estate, and this one appeared to be very near in age to her older brothers and Laesara herself. Seemed weird to have a 'squire' that wasn't of respectable blood himself. And judging from the way he talked, Malikai certainly wasn't. The smaller girl leaned forward a bit, settling her mug on the edge of the bench so she could peer curiously at the two Orderite children together. They looked funny, and it was certainly within her rights to tell them so. Opening her mouth, she fixed the pair of them with her wide lavender eyes. Before she had the chance to speak, a gloved hand settled itself in her line of sight. "Don't speak to him," Rose murmured, tugging her frame closer to him and by consequence farther away from the apparently intriguing Orderite boy. "He's not worth your time." Roseryn wasn't even sure why Lae had seen fit to introduce them with names, anyway. Whether the clearly ill-educated boy remember them was of little consequence. Should be "Sir" and "Ma'am" to him, certainly. He kept his arm strung about Iris' shoulders, inviting no farther comments to her curiosities. Instead he diverted his attention to the adult male that emerged from the tent. To be frank, Rose was surprised the man hadn't already set off on his own, though he expected his own father would be thrilled by the delay. He sent a tiny frown in Lae's direction. "We're hardly so exhausted that we need a great deal of rest," he informed her in a clipped tone, nodding to the twins still violently chucking snow at each other behind her for an example. And conveniently ignoring the way Aster huffed in frustration. The eldest of the group seemed perfectly content to sit by the fire and drink something warm. The pansy.

The Only Black Uke I'll let you set the next scene with the hunt and all <3 Quote: Laesara Wymrith Class: Orderite Apprentice Location: Everwinter Plateau – Siren's Field Activity: HUNT 808/1500 words Interacting with: Roserynn, Malikai Baelen was of a similar opinion to Roserynn, Laesara could see. He positively radiated annoyance. Well, that is too bad for him. she thought uncharitably. She was looking forward to the hunt, of course, but impatience was not a virtue. She was patient - not something she shared with her father or, if she remembered correctly, her mother. Oh, he was patient when he had to be, of course, but that patience had an end. She wasn't sure if hers did. A servant bustled nearby and she gave them a meaningful look. They nodded, understanding all too well that this was no time for dallying, making a gesture with their fingers. Soon. Her gaze drifted to the twin dovaa behind Roserynn, and then to Aster who seemed to be enjoying his rest. If she remembered her father's explanation, he was the 'family failure', which was a terrible fate to befall anybody. Roserynn was the official heir. And what of the others? They would likely find a purpose somewhere in their distant and beautiful realm. She tried her best to hold them all in conversation and distract the hotter headed ones, but it was difficult to do when she was admiring their horns and scales more than was probably appropriate. Dovaa were so beautiful to look at. Roserynn's attitude, however, made it difficult and even she was relieved when the servant came to inform her father that their mounts and equipment were ready. Her father stood up quickly – rather like water being loosed from a dam and she went off to her own mount, assigning a servant to show the dovaa to the Ayran hastar. Spares was not quite a term for them – they were high quality hastar – but it was apt enough. She didn't worry so much about Malikai staying on his hastar – a specific animal who was very used to him by now. We've mostly solved that problem she thought, with no small degree of chagrined amusement. She kitted herself out, got on her hastar, and the party soon rode out. She could feel the beat of the hastar's feet matching her own heart, and she knew she was excited. Very excited.

Malikai Location: Everwinter Plateau – Siren's Field. Class/Clan: Orderite male, unchosen class. Currently 'squire'. Activity: 'Hunting' - sort of. Interacting With: Laesara and Roseryn
Malikai shivered. Though his cloak was thick and good quality — thanks only to the generosity of the Wymrith estate or, more specifically, Laesara herself — the surrounding atmosphere of Ayr, and their current roost in particular, held about it a certain latent air of chilliness. Something that stretched beyond, in his opinion, raw temperature and dug deeper than that. The sort of cold that seeped through thick cloaks, armor, and boots and settled in the gut of a person. After mounting with the rest of them, he resisted the need — as much as he could manage — to shift his weight restlessly, trying very much not to make a mockery of himself and wanting least of all to fall from his hastar. That, he hoped, was now a thing of the past. Besides, here if he fell, unlike in the warm grassy pastures surrounding the nobel estates on Serenia, there was no telling if his drop would be the some ten hand’s breadths or so from the body of his beast to the earth under its hooves, or far, far further. That in mind, he held a fraction tighter to his mount’s reins. A nicker and sharp snort of disapproval alerted him to the simultaneous, unnecessary tensing in of his knees and grip to its body. Wincing, he forced himself to relax a fraction, mumbling an apology beneath his breath and stroking a hand down its neck. “Shhhh, lady, m’sorry…sorry. M’just…a touch nervous, ‘s all.” He kept the words quiet. Enough so that he hoped at least that the winds would not carry them to the rest of the ‘hunting’ party, however oddly forged it was. It seemed strange to him that children his age and younger would be taken out into such dangerous areas to face beasts when surely, even as keenly trained nobel children, they couldn’t — for the most part, at least — know the first part about using a weapon. Some of the younger ones looked as though they wouldn’t yet be able to lift a blade, let alone defend themselves effectively. But then, what did he know? Perhaps nobel children were just that much more impressive than the bumbling sort of plebeian youth he’d grown up with, throwing rocks from spitting distance and still managing to miss. And, to be fair, he truly wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Then, as though summoned by his uncertainty, a sharper, distinctly different wind whistled up from the edge of the cliffside. The sudden, very visible cliffside, as the warmer wind took with it a great swath of fog like blowing back bubbles from the edge of a bucket and— Malikai yipped in spite of himself, veering sidelong and causing his hastar to stagger and whinney its objection because the edge of the world was not supposed to be quite that close— —and then, there was something coming over the lip of rock. White-silver, winged, teethed, and clawed: there was no mistaking an ayrala dragon. Young, old, large or small — comparatively, Malikai did not know what it is he was looking at precisely, other than that it was a dragon followed shortly after by two more dragons, and when the beast screeched, its magic whipping around the gathered party and biting back at them, Malikai’s hastar reared, and though he could not have given a precise run down of what exactly happened after that moment by moment, he knew well by the lurching feeling in his gut, sliding, rise of panic and then crunch seconds later as his body hit the snow in an inelegant pile, he lost full control of the beast. What happened after was largely a blur. His cloak seemed to be everywhere heavenly imaginable, tying him up in every manner that he tried to move so that when he moved to stand it choked and then tripped him and he was flat again, more snow shoving its way into the various orifices of his outfit: down his tunic, into his boots, behind the nape of his cloak somehow. The sudden absolute chaos of commotion around him, of course, did little to help. But, nonetheless, he fumbled blindly in the general area where his weapon ought to be. He was supposed to be helping to defend the smaller children and his lady — right? The odds of such a dream seemed, unfortunately, to be fading fast.

(116/500) Interacting with: Rain, Esme, Red Shenra smiled and pocketed the claws that Red had given her. She probably could find something for these, even if it was just going into her treasure box. "Thanks!" she said beaming. Red didn't seem to crazy to her now. As the windstorm from before became worse, Shenra popped her wings back into their tattoo form. She didn't want to be blown away. As she put her head into the wind and shielded her face from the wind, she did feel different, she felt as if the wind was growling. Something in the air made her shiver and it didn't seem as if the temperature had dropped. "Y-yeah." Shenra said ducking behind Red. "W-what is it?"

Criani said. "Come on Honoka!"She signaled to Honoka to stop playing for the moment and to follow her. Her student stopped as she made her last "bounce" and started to follow the two adult khehora. It was nice to have found someone to camp with on Ayr, Criani thought as she walked alongside the other female. It sure beat sleeping under trees. As much as Criani enjoyed sleeping outdoors, a cave was always preferable to the cold. "To tell the truth," she said to Malta, "I have never been to Ayr before, or outside Serenia for that matter." She chuckled, "So even if you have limited knowledge of the land, it is more than I ever knew existed." Criani knew the continents and the lands outside Serenia, she'd just never been there to know the areas of them. Sometime into their journey towards the caves, Criani stopped and sniffed the air. There were animals about she had never smelt before. Each animal had a smell, and each individual animal had their own smell. This was an animal she had never smelled before, it had to be. "Come her Honoka." she called to the youngling. Honoka scampered to Criani's side She didn't want the youngling to get too far from her since she didn't know what to expect. She pulled Honoka close to her, and turned to Malta saying, "Do you smell something... new? A new animal?"Criani lifted her nose and sniffed again. It was rather interesting and though she knew she couldn't go searching it out because of Honoka, her curiosity was running wild to see what it was. She strained her ears trying to see if she could catch a sound that was out of place. She heard what sounded like... Yipping? She wished she could send out some sort of magic pulse to see what her element knew was going on, but there was no water around. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Honoka saw Cri's signal for her to follow, and so as she fell into the snow from her hopping around, and sank to her belly on the soft white stuffs in a particularly full snow bank, Honoka struggled a bit and then began to follow Cri. As she walked she heard the adults talking and so left Cri’s side to sniff around the new world. She didn’t leave sight of her teacher, but went sniffing around trees that smelled different from the ones back home. She also dove into piled up snow near some of them just for the fun of it. At one tree she saw a small squirrel and stopped to watch it run around the trunk to the ground. Honoka wondered if it was looking for dinner in the middle of winter. She walked further along, and as she walked past another of tree and suddenly something fell right next to her! She looked around and saw a pine cone, and it had fallen so that it was pointing straight up! Honoka giggled a bit and then ran along to catch up with Cri. It seemed to be the makings of a good day. After a fair amount of walking, Honoka heard her teacher call for her and scampered near Cri. Honoka didn’t know what was going on, but when Cri’s tail pulled her closer to her, and she saw Cri sniffing the air, she huddled close to the adult. There was no telling what was out there and if it would hurt her. Honoka sniffed the air too and smelt something different in the air. As she huddled near Cri, she listened too. It was faint, but she heard small yipping sounds. What had made that noise?! Perhaps it was one of those huge things Malta was talking about earlier. She huddled closer to Cri. She didn’t want to meet one of those things ever! Whatever it was Honoka would be sure to do as her teacher told her to do, just like her mama told her.

Quote: Roseryn Vayne Class: Unchosen Dovaa Apprentice Location: Everwinter Plateau – Siren's Field Activity: Reigning in siblings and talking to Laesara while pointedly ignoring Malikai /// To Hunt the Wind 1409/1500 Interacting with: Laesara and Malikai If it were up to Roseryn, he would've set out alongside his father. So the whole 'waiting' portion of this game seemed wildly unnecessary. But thanks to laziness (he cast Aster a glance from the corner of his eye), lack of discipline (the twins were only just finishing their exuberant snow-war), and a general deficiency in training due to age (but Roseryn couldn't fault Iris for the simple fact of being four), his purpose had been better served at their side. Now, however, as the majority of the children mounted up, he perched in front of his littlest sister with a smile. "Aster will take care of you until we get back. You just relax, stay warm, drink your hot chocolate, hm?" Iris' cheeks puffed up to four times their size, reddened by the exposure to the wind. "I wanna go with you!" She complained, tossing her arms out to tangle in his cloak. "I wanna see the creature too! It's not fair!" "When you're older, you-" She shrieked out her frustration, and Rose recoiled, peddling back to give Aster space to reclaim the mildly upset child. "You'd best hurry back," Soldaster complained, covering an ear with one hand as his free arm looped around his sister's middle. "She'll set off after you and be lost to Ayr forever." It was probably supposed to be a joke, but Rose's expression suggested he was anything but amused. He decided a comment like that didn't warrant a response and instead beckoned his three remaining siblings to join him near the hastar Laesara had permitted them to use. Once they’d all claimed their beast and mounted up, Quince nudged his haster toward Rose as the small group made their way over to join with the brunt of the hunting party. “It seems unlikely that this is how most families spend their vacations,” he grumbled on a low note, giving his haster a gentle tug to stall it as they approached Lae’s group. “Would you prefer sitting around a cabin fire and hearing the mushy tale of how our parents met on a cold snowy night just like this and fell in love with a single glance?” “I don’t think… Did they?” Quince’s brows furrowed. With a scoff, Rose snorted out, “Doubt it.” “Yeah,” Lis quipped as he guided his mount closer to his brothers, his sister clinging to his waist and peeking over his shoulder. “Mother would never be so careless as to just fall for a person like that. She’s much too sensible.” Lia piped up from her back seat, “Mother doesn’t even like him now. Seems unlikely that such a frigid chill would give anyone oozy-goozy warm feelings of eternal love.” “I don’t think anyone likes him,” grumbled Quince. Roseryn tried not to look overly offended as he shot, “I do!” “That’s because you’re a daddy’s boy.” “Yeah, daddy’s boy.” “I’m not!” He argued. “You are!” The three of them seemed positively delighted by this fact, and they chanted it teasingly, “Daddy’s boy, daddy’s boy.” Quince even reached across the gap between their hastar to give a stray red curl a tug (much to Roseryn’s chagrin), and earned an unapologetic swat in response. The banter probably would’ve continued, except there came a commotion from a nearby hastar, drawing the Dovaas' attention and stares, and coaxing them into silence asthey each guided their own beasts back and away from the one the plump Orderite boy was clearly very ill-suited to manage. But dark, winged-shadows emerged over the lip of the precipice, drawing anxious knickers and head tosses and finicky hooves from the other hastar as well. And as Rose struggled to soothe the unfamiliar beast beneath him, he couldn't help but toss a dark lavender glance to the heap of Orderite on the ground. "He fell." "Is he alright?" "If he can't even ride, he shouldn't be out here, anyway..." A murmur of consensus went through the group, stalled only by the harsh lash of frigid wind that kicked up a spray of snow directly at the bunch, spurred on by the magic of one of the beasts overhead. It made a sharp circle around the party, gaze fixed on the smallest, weakest, most pitiful members of the bunch before it landed. It planted itself before the group, sticking them between a small family of dragons and the waiting cliff edge. Neither were particularly welcoming. But at least they could do something about one of them. Lia notched her knees up to her brother's hips, using him for support as she tugged her bow over her shoulder and notched an arrow. The dragons claws dusted over the snow as it moved forward, maw low and ready to snap at anything the moved. She loosed only an instant after her arrow was strung, and the arrow found its place bedded firmly in the nick of the dragon's shoulder. It's resounding scream was accented by a drawn-out burst of air that had the Dovaa children flattening themselves against their saddles. Only once it had subsided did Quince and Rose dismount. They didn't waste time with plans or pleasantries, didn't bother to urge each other to be careful, only moved. Rose's fingers flicked up to the clasp at his cloak, giving it a decisive snap that sent the long, dragging cloth billowing away with the wind. His footfalls made audible 'crunch'es in the snow as he ran with purpose toward the Ayrala at the forefront. Another flick of his wrist, and his rapier was unsheathed, held confidently in his hand like an extension of his own arm. The Ayrala swiped as he neared, claws out and teeth bared, its snarls high and whiny from the first shot it had taken. Rose dipped beneath its outstretched claws, and even as he moved, Quince's broader sword swung over his head, catching the raking nails against the unforgiving steel of his blade. The red head slid under it, angled his own weapon at his adversary, and, with a barely perceptible hiss of draconic words, speared his rapier up the dragon's nostril, piercing through weak masses of cartilage that protected the creature's pitifully fleshy mind. While postively disgusting, it proved to be effective enough, and the creature vanished into orbs, leaving its two compatriots to stand alone on the ice. As Rose gaze his weapon a flick to remove unwanted liquids clinging to his blade, Quince snorted softly, pointedly staring at the much less thick cloth that now lay bared against Roseryn's shoulders. "You're really going to regret that."
