Rolling For: 08/03 Wood Gathered: 13 Alister was ready! He fingered the necklace Tuggle had given him; it was sure to give him good luck today! He gathered his wood with care, watching as others did the same. Suddenly, something interesting caught his eye! Those troublesome twins were pulling a cart in the garden, complete with a girl in the back. "Ohhh, let me ride!" He laughed and ran alongside the cart. Alister almost tripped twice before heaving himself and his wood into the back of the cart. He almost collided headfirst with Yesenia. "Hello. I'm Allister. Lovely day for a cart ride, isn't it?" [[hope its ok for me to pop in c: ]]

Shakuntala was a little slow on the uptake. And there was a cart coming in her direction. Her arms fell limp and dumped the lumber she had collected into the edge of the pile as her body froze. She had to think fast; should she jump out of the way? Beocme a victim to the moving wheels? Dance around? Finalizing on the first choice, she did, but ended up trip-falling-jumping into the cart instead.
With a struggled, "Oof!" she shook herself and rose from the bottom of the moving cart with a hand rubbing the side of her head. Glancing to her company inside and outside of it, she smiled sheepishly, and greeted, "H-hello..."

Axel was trying to be nice, hoping he could maybe get a smile out of Preacher with his ridiculous neon pink socks. Unfortunately, he only seemed to piss her off. Startled by the hand in his face, Axel took a step back, frowning. For a moment he was tempted to shout at her. He very nearly did so. Peace Garden. It's the PEACE Garden.Axel didn't know if Terry Tuggle would be angry over a shouting match erupting in his garden, but the strange man would definitely come up with some bizarre and horrifying punishment. Perhaps he would cram Axel and Preacher into a getalong shirt. Reigning his temper in with an effort, Axel sighed. "What's the matter, Preacher? You look miserable."

For one horrible, awful second, Preacher's face crumpled and it looked like she might cry. Quickly, she stiffened her face out again and looked up at Axel with glittering eyes. None of ya ********' business, Axel." And with that, she whirled and stalked out of the garden. She would not run.

"Hmm, well to be honest, I probably would fall too!" Larisa laughed, shaking her head. "The most amazing part is that she stayed on her feet going that fast, not that she pushed it at all!" As she spoke, she quickly glanced around for more sources of wood. From the size of the pile, it was possible they'd all found most of what would be findable, but she wasn't sure yet if that was enough. She was just about to head for a piece she'd finally spotted when the cart came to her attention yet again. Except this time, it was...speeding right at them?
For a second she could only stare in horror at the twins, the cart they were pulling, and the growing number of trainees in the back. Then she dropped what she was carrying and threw herself at Rennati to get them both out of harm's way. "Look out!" Belatedly, she thought it might have been a bit of an overreaction, couldn't she have just stepped to the side and pulled her roommate with her? But it was too late for that now.

Building the Fence Welcome to the Peace Garden!!!Now that the trainees have gathered enough wood, they've got to build the fence! It's got to be a sturdy fence, too!! The trainees need to reach a certain sturdiness level. If the fence is too weak, it will fall down! If the fence is too strong, the wire holding it together will warp and snap! This part of the event is going to take some teamwork! As always, please quote pinchmonster if you would like to interact with Terry Tuggle! To build the fence:The fence needs a sturdiness level between 3040 and 3050 to remain standing. To accomplish this, once a day per character you may roll one of any dice you would like to roll. You can roll 1d100, 1d20, 1d10 - it doesn't matter. However, it is imperative to carefully choose which dice you roll the closer the sturdiness level gets to the maximum number allowed! Here's an example. Lets say the previous days rolls have gotten the sturdiness level to 3020. Trainee A rolls a 1d20. The total is now 3032. Trainee B rolls 1d6. The total is now 3037. Trainee C sees how close the fence is to being finished, and rolls 1d6 just to be on the safe side. The total is now 3042, and the fence is complete. But instead let's say that trainee C rolls 1d20, and the sturdiness total hits 3052. The fence is far too tightly built, and the next time a strong breeze comes along or someone bumps into it, it will snap apart, and the trainees will have to start all over again! It is going to be very important to keep the running tally updated in your post when you roll, so once your roll is done, fill out this form and post it with your RP response. If you are the one to finish the fence, do be sure to post in big colorful letters so that everyone else knows the fence is finished, as well! Rolling for: Date goes here! Number rolled: How much did you add to the previous roll? Current sturdiness total: What's the new total? Everyone who participates in this stage will be entered in a raffle for a dye ticket, and three winners will be chosen! If you interact with someone in your posts, you will be entered for an extra ticket!
Please feel free to finish any RP you have going on before you move to the next stage!

Ren laughed along as she did agree with Larisa. "I suppose you're right! It is kinda amazing that she stayed on her feet!" When Larisa started checking the pile, she started looking at it too and it looked like they were almost done! "I think we're almo-" She had been about to say they were almost done but that's when Larisa yelled "Look Out!" Ren hadn't noticed what was barrelilng towards them until her roommate jumped and knocked them both out of the way. "Oh my gosh! Thank you Larisa..." Ren said, her eyes wide as she stared at the cart continuing with all of the trainees in it. Taking a moment to recollect her thoughts, she stood up, brushing off her uniform and holding a hand out to Larisa. With a sigh, she heard that they had collected all the wood they needed and it was time to build the fence! "Well, hopefully since we've collected all the wood the crazy cart rides will end. Should we go help build the fence now?"

Chris had been jittery and uncomfortable since he'd managed to finish his registration process, however the promise of a small garden, and the work that would need to be put in had lured the teen to join in the work needed. Taking to working on the early structure of the frame work adjusting the twin around the boards making steady progress as he shuffled around. Once he was done fidgeting with several skillful ties and knots he worked on adding another portion.
He was a bit clumsy, not making all the progress he'd hoped for but it was a start at least. The four eye'd trainee reasoned it was after all a group project he couldn't perfect every last detail on his own. Raising up from his crouched position he seemed satisfied with the small task, taking out his stress on the simple task. Scanning the length of the fence, and namely those gathered he realized he didn't know any of them off hand come to think of it. Chris wasn't sure if that was a positive or negative really, but did his best to keep busy, intending to help as he could over the course of the project.

Rolling for: 8/4/14 Number rolled: 68 Current sturdiness total: 88 "Ah, no problem! Sorry that was such a forceful rescue." Laughing a little sheepishly, Larisa reached out for Rennati's hand, allowing her roommate to help her to her feet. She mimicked the other blonde's action of dusting off her uniform first, then stooped to recover the wood she'd thrown aside earlier. As she did, the news spread out that they were ready to move on to actually building the fence and she paused to blink at the boards she carried. Well, a few extra wouldn't hurt anything, would it? They might come in handy later if one of the others broke.
"Yeah, let's see what we can do!" Nodding to Ren, she turned to lead the way. She apparently already had some wood to use in her hands, but she headed for the pile anyway so that her roommate could get some. Then they just needed some wire and...Ah! There was a spot they could help! Another trainee was already there doing as much as he could on his own, though she realized she didn't recognize him. She'd probably remember that interesting mix of purple and black hair if she had met him before, right? She'd been making progress on the friend-making process so far, she thought, so it couldn't hurt to try for one more, could it?
Mind made up, Larisa stepped over to Chris's side, flashing him a smile that she hoped was more friendly than nervous. "Hello," she began brightly, and then faltered a little, because introductions always felt so awkward. "I'm Larisa, um...A-and this is Rennati!" She glanced back to make sure Ren was actually there, because it would have been ten times as embarrassing if she'd gone off over here alone and he thought she had an imaginary friend or something. "Maybe we could lend a hand?"

Her mind was boggled. The cart ride had taken her for a spin, but the copper-skinned trainee managed to jump right out before she had a chance to crash and burn in a pile of ouchie. Rising to her feet, she sought out her suprerior.
Shakuntala's shielded her eyes against the sun as Tuggle claimed that enough wood was collected. She let out a sigh of relief; gathering wood was a bit of a back breaker, but the following event seemed a little more easier on the body. Sort of. Approaching the start of the fence where others had gathered and already started putting the boards up, Shakuntala hefted up a few herself and stabbed them into a linear path beside the others. Then, winding a strand of twine about her fingers and then breaking off a generous amount, she began to wind them around the wood.
She pulled taut, making sure the cracks and bends between the boards would not be open to prying eyes peeking through the openings. After a satisfactory amount of work, Shakuntala knotted them, and continued the pattern as before.

I'll lend a hand too if I can." He inserted himself into the conversation grinning at the lot of them. While he had his own reservations, the ever friendly red head waved first at the two female trainees. "I think I heard you say Larisa," he then pointed ot the other. "and um, Rennati? I'm Alec nice to meet you guys." He bowed his head respectfully before crouching down to work on weaving the wire to help provide his assistance tending to the fence. He muttered a small apology for having interrupted a light blush on the trainees face as he busied himself. + Chris looked up from his task a smile replacing his serious expression. "H..hello there." He offered the two trainees a friendly enough smile nodding between the two of them. He recognized Alec, nodding to the other boy before reluctantly introducing himself. "You can call me Chris." The ending S seemed to be stammered but he offered the two ladies a smile. "You look like you have a good hand on tha-t-t." He observed blonde female had a gentle demeanor about her..and felt at ease. The purple haired boy looked grateful for her ice breaker. "If I can make myself u-s-seful in anyway just let me know!" He quickly assured the pair, adjusting his glasses with a small push on the nose bridge so they sat higher up his face. While any further progress he made wasn't as significant as his initial push he stuck around to hear more from these unfamiliar faces deciding to venture out of his comfort zone.

Shun came back, wearing normal socks again. He had managed to procure a pair that weren't that hideous set Terry gave him a couple days ago. It seemed they had enough wood now, and were working on building the actual fence. Watching the others, he went on past Alec to start building quietly on his own. He grabbed a bit of wood, then got it in place. After hammering a handful of nails into it, he seemed to have managed to get it to stay put pretty well.

"Got cha!" Jeong-jae laughed as Yesenia yelled at them before she began to crack up as well. Her braid whipped back from the momentum and soon he realized the cart was getting out of control. A familiar face jumped on board and he grinned at his roommate. Alister had a bit of a rough entry but managed to make it aboard without taking himself out. Then came the human hurdles. Dark brown eyes recognized Shakuntala from that crazy night of truth or date and he paled at the chance they might run her over. She'd been so shy and nervous, would she be able to dodge in time? Through a miracle she did a strange little somersault in that did not look entirely on purpose. It was still impressive though.
Two more blondes came into view before falling to the side of the road in a dramatic pose. Larisa's rescue seemed so passionate he wondered if they would share a loving embrace afterwards. Chuckling to himself, the twins managed to stop the cart a few yards away from Terry before he gave a new set of instructions.
"That was awesome. Let's do it again later." Turning to look at Yesenia, the twin seemed to approve that she'd managed to stay in despite two new additions flying into her face. Shakuntala shakily got out and immediately went to work on the fence while he and Hwan-jae parked the cart in a decent spot. He wondered if they should load the thing up with more and use it to help supply the fence building group. Maybe when they got low he'd haul it back over and fill it up again. Glancing to Alister, he wondered how handy the boy was with wire.
"This part takes a little more finesse, huh?" Playing with some of the wire now, Jeong-jae eyed the area people had started working in. It seemed the best idea would be to start in one spot and then begin branching out in both directions. Grabbing the materials needed, he waved for the rest of the cart crew to follow and get working.
"Reinforcements have arrived!" Squatting down next to Larisa, Jeong-jae acted like he hadn't just almost ran her over and started winding wire.
((I would've quoted more but it looked like a long list so I just quoted the people I think I had him talk to. But everyone at the fence team can talk to him now!))

"We are doing that again when this is over! You with me, Yessie?"The cart shenanigans had been fun and he'd enjoyed barreling towards people and watching them jump aside or tumble in as Yesenia's laugh rang out behind him. A tall lanky purple boy that Hwan recognized as Jeong's room mate exited the cart after Shakuntala jumped out to safety and he gave the boy a friendly wave. He noticed that people were starting to do something with all the wood they'd dropped off and realized, oh right they were supposed to be working.
"This part is so boring, huh?" He poked at the wire and wondered if there was some way to make this part go faster. There really wasn't a way to speed things up without sacrificing the hard work stabilizing the fence but he was the kind of guy to always look for a better faster (or flashier) way of doing things. Since he was not intelligent enough to think of anything, he decided to fool around and shaped some wire into a loop.
"Think fast, Alister!" He grinned playfully and raised his voice before pantomiming that he was going to lasso the other boy.

Rolling for: 8/5/14 Number rolled: 87 Current sturdiness total: 492 A little startled by the new voice pitching in that certainly wasn't Rennati's, Larisa glanced back again and blinked a moment at Alec as he introduced himself. She thought maybe she'd seen him around the Falke dorms before, but she couldn't be entirely sure. There were still so many people she hadn't met yet! Smile quickly returning, she nodded to let him know he'd heard correctly. "That's right! It's nice to meet you too, Alec. And you, Chris!" Catching Alec's murmured apology as he went to work, she laughed quietly. "You were offering to help. I don't think anyone would get mad about that."
Her eyes snapped quickly back to Chris with that, realizing she'd pretty much done the same thing to him, even if she hadn't so much interrupted a conversation. "Um, at least I hope not? Although I guess we've all just sort of done that just now. Offering help for each other, I mean. So probably not, but-" Another flash of movement and an exclamation of reinforcements arriving announced Jeong-jae's sudden presence beside her. She paused to glance at him and was belatedly glad he'd arrived if only because the distraction had kept her from tumbling further into an unnecessary rambling.
"You almost ran me over," she informed him as she worked to get the wire just so, her voice oddly conversational instead of accusing. Then she winced, because that wasn't exactly the greeting she'd intended, was it?
