Amaya nodded to Rose's introduction and stepped in behind her. She didn't mind walking behind, as it gave her a change to observe without being rude. "You can call me Amaya." She told the girl in a reserved but friendly voice. Her intrest was sparked once again, as the girl mentioned what she was. "Any animal? So you could change into a Polar Bear, at will?" While waiting for the answer, Amaya pondered silently a question that had arisen in her mind. Did that mean that when the girl was in a polar bear form, Amaya was temporarily her Queen, or was she entirely a separate body. Amaya was ruled of all Polar bears, but did that include those who sometimes shared their form?

She couldn't help a small smile at Kakumei, as he spoke of the birds. "They're feathers. A bit like grouped hair, built for flying. They must have been quite magnificent, in the time you remember them from." She found him quite an interesting combination. Old far beyond her years, knowledgeable about a time she was not, and incredibly powerful. And yet in this time, so innocent, because everything he had seen before had changed, and was new again.

[Thanks!]

Rose smiled slightly at the older man's questions, but since the other woman, who had called herself Amaya, had already addressed it, she decided to leave it be, along with the fact she had noticed to bodyguard relax in posture and scent, as he no longer smelled of anxiety. "Yes, I could change into a polar bear at will, though I haven't done it much since I was learning what it meant to be a shapeshifter from my mother—she was also a shifter, which is where I got it from. She had me change into any animal you could name, so I could remember how it felt to change and be each, making it easier for me to shift."

She paused for a moment, but continued, "After that though, there really wasn't the climate or room to be a polar bear for anything, but a short amount of time." She could tell that Amaya was curious about something, but knew that she would breach the subject if she wanted to, and she knew better than to push powerful supernatural beings to do anything they didn't like. So, instead, she talked about birds—a much safer subject ... hopefully—with them.

[lol now I'm the one replying slowly-ish. Sorry I don't know much about birds myself, but my RP character does, so hence the alluding to the conversation. Also, how long should this walk to the inn take? just so I know how long to carry on the convo here. sorry for the long note]

Kakumei watched for a bit, then turned his attention to the two of them and then to Armel. "Things change slowly at the beginning, and then in time change becomes more rapid. My race hasn't changed much over the course of its existence. Mostly ideals and opinions. But the shorter the life span the creature, the more the race evolves. Changes. Soon you have creatures that are mixed with other creatures, or some that shapeshift. These things are always mundane to someone who grew up living it, and yet when we see others- how different we are, we can't help, but marvel at those who are not like us." He then chuckled softly and shrugged. "Except Elves. Those guys ran us underground and forgot about us. Every time we come up, they are still arrogant twits.. And I don't mean individually. I mean, a race as a whole."

Rose was very confused when the older man mentioned elves. "Elves?" She asked, curious. No one had mentioned aloud anything about elves, to her knowledge. Not while she had been near them, anyway. "I believe you, of course, I think I must have lost track of our conversation, is all." In this world, anything was possible, so she wasn't shocked at the existence of elves, just the sudden mention of them - unless they had been talking about elves before she had joined the conversation, which was also likely.

[You can continue the conversation while having Rose walk them to the hotel. The conversation can even continue in the hotel lobby.

Armel listened to the conversation between his queen and her two new acquaintances, possible allies. For his queen's benefit, he would prefer the conversation to continue in the hotel so his queen could rest her feet in a comfortable place worthy of her, though nothing in this puny town could ever compare to the comforts of the royal palace of their people.

And speaking about people, the ambulance from before returned, screeching down the streets. Many people that had appeared in town were walking or driving home. They all looked exhausted.

"Ah, sorry. I was talking about change and got distracted. I have... Like so many things in my mind at all hours. I kind of lose track of it all once something really catches my attention..." Kakumei looked to her, smiling gently as he nodded a bit.

Rose chuckled, understanding what the man meant. When she was curious about something, her mind would sometimes go a million miles a minute, too. That, however, didn't sate her curiosity about elves. Oh well, she thought, I'll just find out more at a later date.

"Ah, I see." she said the the man "I might usually ask more about these elves, but that conversation can be tabled for after everyone gets settled and rested, now that we're here," she said, gesturing to the building in front of them.

Armel followed his queen, remaining only a few steps away, as they walked toward the building Miss Cameron directed them towards. He had no questions about elves, or the Arahitogami. The bodyguard simply desired to guard and serve his queen. It was his only purpose for existence. To serve and be of use. If one could not be of use, could not act as the sword and shield of one's sovereign, then one had no business by said sovereign's side.

Kuro the Twin Heiress, Aura the Forest Elf, Sol the Golden Twin,
Luna the Silver Twin, Malum the Dark Elf, Topaz the Dragoness, Okami the Town Guardian.

______________________________________

It was late now, Okami stood, letting the blue hair she could show out. She didn't want to look like Kuro or Shiro, but with the black hair she did. Sure they instantly stopped the fighting, but they violated so much free-will in doing so, and if they could accumulate that much power then they must be dangerous. Power would make someone go mad, no matter what they were or how old.

Thinking hard like this, she paced the familiar cobbled square for a while and stopped at the statue fountain. The twin-headed dragon. Same body, different minds.

An eerie thought popped up, the white dragon always looked peaceful compared to the black one, if this town was theirs, named after them, maybe it was a sign....

[Enter Leticia from wherever she was hiding.]

Leticia had changed out of her party clothes and slept for a few hours in her little hideaway place, but soon she was woken up by hunger and the sound of thunder in the distance. A storm had formed over the mountains, but only over the mountains. It didn't reach town, which was odd, but the whole town was odd, so she figured this was normal. But, just in case, she left her little hideaway and went to the town square in search of food and shelter—her clothes were safe since she covered them in a tarp—if the storm did come to town.

Yet, in the end, she wished she understood more so she wouldn't feel so stupid. This town was full of surprises and unique characters, but she hardly knew what to do with them. Maybe she could find Okami and ask her about it? No, she'd be asleep—
"Oh, she's here," she mumbled as she stared at the blue-haired woman. It was odd, if Leticia could say that, seeing her pace around the two-headed dragon fountain. "Okami, you're still here? I'd thought you'd stay with your sisters." She walked towards the woman, careful to gauge her mood. The ball was about the twins, the namesakes of the town, welcoming them back home after being gone for so long. Leticia figured Okami would want to stay so she could discuss how things would be from now on because of the complication of having three town heirs instead of two. "I tried to find you, even Mikora tried to help me find you before the party went south." Leticia kept the scrawled address the wispy-thin girl had given her; it remained tucked in her bra for safe keeping. For whatever reason, she wanted a reason to see Mikora, but after all the things she experienced in her life so far, it was difficult to trust anyone when they gave you their address. But Leti kept thinking Mikora would be different.

[Enter Aoi from Kuro Forest with Kira the Fire elemental.]

After finally leaving the forest, Aoi lead Kira to a bench so she could rest for a moment or two. Once she caught her breath, he would take her to Anything's Fine for a meal because surely they would have anything she wanted to eat. So no matter how ancient the recipe, surely they could cook and serve it. Familiarity would help ease the fire elemental's mind. Well, as much as it could considering now she had to take in the modern architecture, street lamps, electricity, and automobiles, among other things. He hoped she would not panic at all the change. "Ah, Domina Kira, would you mind wearing my necklace for me? It will translate your speech so you can understand what everyone around you and so you can speak with them as well." He hoped she wouldn't melt it by accident because though it was warded against fire and all sorts of other things, Aoi knew first-hand how hot the elder elemental's flames were.

[Enter Armel from his and Amaya's Inn Suite.]

Armel returned to the Town Square, the place where he and his queen encountered the odd townspeople and visitors of Kuro Shiro. In their search for the town's inn, the guard was certain he had seen a small clothing boutique in the square. Surely it was somewhere nearby.

Kira kept close to Zaya, not just for support, but partly for fear. Ever since she left the forest she had to deal with all sorts of new things. From the road made up of some solid black stone, to the things that rode on it like some furious beast. She nearly roasted one of those until she realized there were humans in it controlling the creatures. And then she got to the town, where there was several people of sorts she had never seen before in her travels, and things that were impossible. She was glad when he led her to the town center, as she was becoming incredibly exhausted physically and mentally, though she held out from sitting on the bench for a few moments for pride's sake. She made a point to avoid looking at the fountain in the center of the town. She nearly had another panic attack just looking at those dragons. She looked at Zaya, studying the necklace he was offering her. She frowned at it, she knew a crutch when she saw one. It's not smart to just depend on something like that for something so important, but I'm going to have to for now, until I learn this english. So she relented. She took the necklace and cinched it on. She saw that her hair covered it up, and remembering how the last time she panicked her hair flared up without her wanting it to, she let the fire that made her hair die out so that her hair would be short enough to not risk melting it. At first she couldn't tell if it was working but suddenly it was like everyone was speaking Old Norse, but their mouths were off. They would begin speaking just fine, but then their mouths would stop and words would still go on. It was a little disorienting. "It is strange, but thank you." She in Old Norse, though to everyone else it came out in perfect English. "But could you explain to me, why there is a flame trapped inside that pole there?" She asked, pointing at a street lamp.

Aoi was fascinated by Kira as her hair shortened so it no longer covered his locket necklace after she wore it. Though it was warded against fire, it did his heart some good to know she was conscious about her powers and the destruction they could cause to other people's property. She had shown her restraint with the various automobiles they passed by. The water elemental would have been upset if she had managed to overcome the wards placed on the locket and melt it. He had bought the locket as a wedding gift to Hzim because she loved wearing jewelry and dressing up. And Hzim, were she still alive, would be livid knowing someone managed to overcome her spells. It would have been an amusing scene for sure.

But he needed to stop thinking of the past. For now, Aoi would focus on the future. Staying in the past caused angry mobs carrying pitch forks and torches to chase you. Tapping the locket that lied against the fire elemental's chest, Aoi smiled at it.
"I thought the same thing when I first wore this as the recipient instead of the owner," he said before looking up Kira. He really needed to get her some food, proper clothing, and a place to rest. Well, he supposed he could let her stay with him until she was fully rested, but he preferred she live on her own so she wouldn't feel dependent on him. An elemental as wild and free as fire didn't do well confined to such shackles. He understood that from the past and the present as he spoke with Kira. "As for the pole, it's called a street lamp. Once upon a time, it used flames to light the street using oil, but now we use mental and electricity. I guess I should explain that as well." The water elemental scratched the back of his head and scowled when he remembered his hair wasn't as long as it was before. It was still long, but it was shorter than he liked. His tattoo still showed to anyone who decided to look at it. He hoped Kira didn't know who the tattoo belonged to if she did notice it. He didn't want to explain that bit of his life.

For now, Aoi would focus on teaching Kira all she wanted and needed to know about the modern world.
"Let's see, electricity is caused by heat, like the kind generated by fire, energizing electrons which are negatively charged particles in atoms. All life is composed of atoms, and atoms are composed of electrons, neutrons, and protons. Neutrons are neutral particles and protons are positively charged. I can explain all of this on a later date. Anyways, the energized electrons pass through the metal wire within the lamp and caused particles called photons to jump to higher energy levels and emit light. Photons don't have mass, they are just particles that represent the quantum of light." He wondered if he lost her already in his explanation. He supposed her could have her watch YouTube videos to explain it all, but then he would have to explain what a video was. "Just so you know, most technology is powered by electricity. Some of the automobiles, which are the metal carriages you saw earlier, are powered by electricity, but most are powered by gasoline." Searching her face for an expression of understanding, or at least acknowledgement that she didn't think he was jesting her, the water elemental felt a little nervous. He didn't know how to water it down anymore than that. He was around during the time protons, electrons, and neutrons were discovered, and he couldn't tell Kira that even those particles were composed of a smaller particle. It might overload her mind. Such a shock would not be good for her.

Armel found the local clothing boutique still closed upon his arrival and though he would rather shop for clothing first, the bodyguard would have to wait. So, as such, he went to the local grocery and bought what normal humans would consider an excessive amount of food. But only the produce. For his meats, the man had to wait until they had his order complete, least they run out for their other customers. In another three or four hours, they would have his meat.

[Exit Armel to his and Queen Amaya's hotel room.]
