Coffins. Alright. Preacher guessed someone had to do the job. Nevertheless, she couldn't help leaning over and whispering loudly: "Nah, Don't build him a coffin. He'll infect ya business with stick in tha mud syndrome. Very dangerous. You ever seen a ghost?" The big man was petting Alec, which was honestly a bit weird. She shrugged. Weirder things happened in deserted alleyways. If Alec was into it, so be it. Alec seemed like he was still fast asleep. She kept one eye on the boy.

Her watch, however, was interrupted both by a vicious coughing fit and Axel's words. When she was finished, she swivled towards him, leaning in uncomfortably close. He smelled like ale and sweat. Clearly, the man had been imbibing. She hoped he wasn't a violent drunk. That type was always annoying. Or a crying drunk. By the walls, she couldn't handle a grown man crying. She sniffled.

"Face-lickin'? You sure got a thing for that, eh." Preacher schooled her face into a facsimile of a 'coquette'. The effect was... not well done. Instead, she looked like a simpering sarcastic. Ooooh, you''re cheatin' on me, are ya? Pfft. Like you''ve a girl anyway. Not the type." She laughed and poked him in the chest. It was about as smart as poking a wasp's nest, she knew. Preacher didn't care.

It sounded like Axel was here now, as Shun picked up on the man's voice. He half expected tensions to rise with him and Preacher being at the same fire, but things still sounded like they were relatively mellow, though he did hear a few snips going back and forth between the two. Also apparently the big guy was a grave digger. And coffin builder. Well then.

Lloren chuckled like a child as Henrik showed off. She shook his hand with enthusiasm, both of them basking in that overall friendly atmosphere. "Yeah! I'll work hard!" She answered.

At Lillian's reply, the trainee arched a brow, pleased to see some befuddlement at work. "He he!" If there was anyone worth being funny around, it was people who questioned these 'strange behaviors'. She motioned to the others of this merry gathering with her head while talking. "Agreed! With these guys over here, may be worth it to record- entertaining situations are rapid to develop. Then we can sell the tales to a bard or something. I'd buy 'em. Oh, here comes another one." She referred to Axel, who joined them rather drunkenly. She twanged an invisible lute and sang a little tune with a deep and reverberating voice, but in a deliberately silly manner. 'Axel walked, he strode, to the tent corner- toward the horse, that was a-tether! But it spooked, it tugged the pole asunder, Down the tent came, oh~ what a blunder!'

"Get what I mean?" She grinned at the girl, expecting a choice reaction. Actually, didn't Axel go and sit right next to Preacher... and wake her up? Did he have a death wish? It seemed so, as he asked for a hole to be dug into. Henrik's reply gave her an idea. Of his profession, but also another idea. "It sounds like tonight will be a murder mystery." She clicked her tongue mischievously and nudged Henrik. If this bonfire event was supposed to be spooky, she was definitely getting into the mood already.

Henrik gave Axel a very large smile, going so far to nod at the other bloke. Yes, if he ever needed a box to live in, Henrik would most assuredly build one for him. He wasn't sure what the squinty look meant, but he merely continued to smile before turning his attention to Preacher.

"I have never seen a ghost. I do not believe in such things. What Axel needs is a pie." Henrik gave Preacher a hopeful glance before he lifted his broad shoulders in a shrug, kind of creepily rubbing a few strands of Alec's hair between his fingers. The color reminded him of a flower that grew next to the small house he lived in, and the flames of the bonfire caused the red hair to almost glow.

...and he hadn't even had anything to drink.

Clearing his throat, Henrik gave Alec's head one last, gentle pat before crossing his arms over his chest. Doing so made his arms look impressively large, and sometimes he sat around crossing his arms over his chest on purpose because he liked the way it made his muscles look.

Realizing that Lloren was speaking to him once more - she had nudged him, after all - Henrik grinned, causing his teeth to gleam eerily in the light of the fire. She was a silly one, but it was pretty endearing. At least she wasn't sour like Axel. Henrik nudged Lloren back, carefully, and waggled his eyebrows.

"Murder mystery?"

Axel really wasn't the type to make up stories about himself, so he wasn't terribly offended when Preacher called him on it. He just shrugged. Whatever. He wasn't drunk, but he was on the way, and he was too wrapped up in self-pity to get TOO angry at Preacher's teasing. Which was getting old, but whatever.

Besides, if he flipped out and started bellowing at Preacher, those two bald dudes looked like they could whip his a**. And that would leave Alec all alone with Henrik and Henrik's ... petting. Henrik didn't seem overly violent and while Axel was slightly inebriated he was at least close to Henrik's size. If Axel needed to defend Alec's honor, he thought he would be able to get one good wallop before Henrik and the bald dudes clobbered him.

So. He would stay and put up with Preacher.

"Ohhh, I'd never lick anyone's face but yours, Preacher. Promise."

He put an arm around Preacher and drew him close, boyfriend at the theater style, squeezing him tightly. Maybe Preacher would escape and go away. Maybe Preacher would go bother those two noble assholes. Illiterates. Blech.

Axel hadn't really been paying attention to Lloren's lyrics, which was probably a good thing, but he had heard her singing something-or-other about horses. Blaarrgh. "Lloren, sing more for us. Henrik can tell a murder mystery. This, this is the best bonfire EVER." He jiggled Preacher for emphasis. And maybe he flexed a little bit too, because Henrik wasn't the only guy with muscles. Granted, he wasn't as big as Henrik, but still. Hmph.

Henrik was all teeth and muscles and strange. Oreacher could appreaciate that, she supposed, even if his strange was a little too 'I have more teeth than Titan' strange. She breathed a sigh of relief when he stopped touching Alec's hair. Curry had been a nice boy and Preacher really wasn't up to fighting a hulk of a man to protect his chastity. As if on cue, a coughing fit erupted from Preacher.

And, rather suddenly, she was hauled up against Axel's side, his bare arm a burning brand across her shoulder. It was an awkward posiition: one of her arms was trapped against him, the other clamped under his hand. Vulgar muscles, big hands. Ugh. She wriggled and kicked him, but couldn't do much more.

"Let get of me! Iffin ya don't getcha f-" And then he jiggled her. She saw stars. Damn drunk. Damn melancholoy strong drunk. Muscles should be illegal, she decided abruptly. With the last jiggle, Axel had dragged her even closer, if possible. She was nearly on top of him! As the dizziness washed over her, she turned and blindly sank her teeth into his skin. Preacher growled. Her lips met his collarbone and she bit again and again. "Let-" bite "me-" bite, bite "go!" She wriggled furiously and only succeeded in making black spots float across her vision.

Lloren was now singing and Preacher and Axel were still talking about licking faces for some god awful reason. A reason that he didn't want to know. He twitched slightly at all of this, though finally actually looked when he heard what sounded like some sort of struggle. Was another fight breaking out?

"..."

No not quite.

After staring at the two for a bit, he just sighed and slowly shook his head.

Yeah. He didn't want to know.

Lloren was about to grin back at Henrik when Axel did something wholly unexpected. Preacher and Axel?! Axel and Preacher?! "Aaaaaaa! Since when did you two have that kind of relationship?!" She stared in disbelief. And then the street kid started biting into Axel like a hungry wolf. "-Oh! Oh." Lloren winced in empathy on each of the first few bites, and then leapt up onto her feet, approaching them with her hands outstretched and just sort of wondering how exactly she could maneuver any form of intervention here. "I was joking! Nobody actually murder anyone!" She had to admit, she wasn't very confident about it- so she glanced back at Henrik. If anyone could muscle them apart from each other it was probably this guy. She also looked to Shun, in case they needed teamwork. "Want to... help or something?" Yeesh.

You can't have one without the other, Elliot mused, watching Axel and Preacher interact from where he sat. The fight during the parade had given him a decent idea of their relationship when they were both relatively healthy and sober, so now that one was clearly drunk and the other was sick, he was a little worried about the direction this would go in. On one hand, they'd realize their condition and leave one another alone. On the other hand--

...

On the other hand, that was what happened. Was...was Preacher biting at Axel?

Elliot lift a hand and promptly slapped it over his face, letting out what may have been a laugh. Good god.

Alec's eyes flew open when he felt the hand on his head the second time. It had been nice the first time, actually contributing to his dozing off and lightly snoring. His brow had scrunched up a bit, the commotion going around him had him blinking bleary eyed, rapidly several times even in the short time he'd been asleep he was groggy. It looked like Nik was talking to some stuffy noble woman.

Oh Preacher and Axel were at it again. "Hey Axel --" Blinking up at the big guy he squinted up at him. "Oh my god...no you two." He sleepily noted, about to get up and try and supposedly handle it based on his comment. He didn't quiet make it too his feet and blinked at Henrik. Unaware his name sake had been questioned by several people gathered, worried for him as he'd been pet by the large man he was seated beside. Truthfully, Alec didn't mind him at all. He was kinda like a big brother almost, and didn't make him feel threatened even if he had been pretty creepy a moment ago. That didn't stop Alec from blinking several too many times, eyeing Henrik considerately before he opened his mouth to speak. "Thanks...?" He looked at the tall man questioningly. What DID one say to a large man petting your head...what a strange way to wake up.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to doze off on you." He yawned, patting his mouth a few times as he rubbed at a watery blue eye. This was directed to the blonde girl Lillian, having been slow to respond. He blamed Henrik's hair petting. And the fire. "I'm glad your here Lillian." Alec muttered encouragingly, knowing well enough she hated these kinds of things. Large groups of mostly strangers was weird. The people here were still strangers in part, but they were friends of his now. Some more than others, but with time all things could change or happen he supposed.

Henrik gave Lloren a shrug. It was a 'no, not really' sort of shrug. Henrik didn't want to get involved in anyone's relationships and he certainly didn't want to get into a fight this close to the towering flame of the bonfire. Besides, maybe Axel was into that sort of thing. Biting and stuff. It wasn't Henrik's place to question it.

Besides, he was comfortable, even if he'd been petting Alec's hair like a giant mountain of a creeper only moments before.

"It is fine. I do not mind." He gave Alec a slight smile. There was nothing wrong with appreciating pretty things, even if the pretty thing in question was attached to a little man.

Whatever.

"I don't know any murder mystery stories," Henrik admitted quietly, half-watching Axel and Preacher and half-watching Lloren and Alec.

"If they start spilling blood, we can separate them," he whispered to Lloren, broad shoulders lifting in a shrug once more. "Do you have any sweets? I had a pie, but it was very small."
PostPosted: Tue May 27, 2014 11:53 am

Axel might have said something snappy to Lloren, but then he was viciously attacked by Preacher, a completely unprovoked attack that he did not bring upon himself in any way. Obviously.

"Argh," Axel said conversationally, through gritted teeth. "Argh." He definitely didn't scream, because screaming was for wimps, but he did speak forcefully.

Since he was totally a big tough strong manly man who did not fear pain, Axel clung on to the thrashing Preacher without batting an eyelash, although his eyes were tearing up from the pain of being bitten. It seemed vaguely imperative that he win the struggle against Preacher, which he absolutely had not started. Of course. "I -- argh -- saved your -- argh -- dumb a** from the canal, remember? ARGH." He was pretty sure that last bite drew blood. His head swam, from the biting as much as the drink. His vision was a bit blurry. Had Preacher turned into a badger? Was he going to get rabies?

Nobody seemed inclined to help him, BUT HE DIDN'T NEED ANYONE'S HELP.

How in all the walls did Axel manage to not let go? Where had his superhuman streangth come from? Preacher was so close to just screaming. She was sick, she was tired and if he wasn't careful, she might vomit up her pie right on him. Some tiny, far off corner of her mind though his various grunts and groans were amusing. And that same corner supposed she should be grateful that he didn't taste dirty. Not that she was cataloguing such things. She looked wildly around between bites. No one was helping her. Of course, no one would help a street brat, especially not against an upstanding member of society. She bit him harder, breaking the skin ferociously.

But his words startled her. That Axel would demand his debt he paid in such a fashion. Or... She assumed that's what he meant. A sort of 'stop fighting me now and I''ll count us even'. And, by a titan's nonexistant balls, she ended to be even[/hi]]. To be in debt to someone was not a comfortable position. She hissed. Unfortunately, the rest of her tirade was interrupted halfway through by a nasty coughing spell. Preacher coughed into his shirt, but felt her muscles relax against her will. The strength was ebbing out of her.

she coughed into his chest. Preacher slumped against him. If this was her debt, it was her debt. But, walls, it rankled! Despite the fever raging in her and sapping her strength, she bit him one more time. On principle.

Lenore sat down on one of the logs, placing her hands onto her lap. She had come in just in time to see to people try to leave and be summarily stopped, and the twelve year old girl knew she would fare no better if she tried to. Even so, it was better than manning the booth. Unless they had to dance. However, the position of the logs made that seem unlikely. Especially considering they were supposedly going to be wanting to run to their mothers. Lenore looked down at her over-sized jacket. Good luck with that.

So the Baldy's had been forgotten. They had watched the "youths" work at being continuously louder every few seconds, but that hadn't been a problem. Mr. Baldy and Mr. Baldy 2.0 hadn't been too upset. Children were annoying, and they had accepted that while playing cards. However, the biting did not escape anyone's notice. As if from nowhere, Mr. Baldy 2.0 appeared behind Alec, seizing his head and grunting fiercely.

And then Mr. Baldy grabbed Preacher's head.

"Oh what do we have here? So hungry you're eating each other? You sad silly sack of s**t." Eyes locking with his brothers and both offering this horrific, twisted, almost evil grin, the two bald men ripped Preacher and Alex apart, and then smashed their foreheads together. Job well done, again, the two headed out. Of course, not without another high-five.
