She peered distastefully at the disposed tail of a lizard, which was barely recognisable from the mangled eaten remains.
"I don't fancy carrying that in my mouth." She decided, and swept away.

As she turned, the little patch of clover glistened enticingly, and she leaned down to devour some.
A four-leaved specimen caught her eye, and she stared at it for a while, before picking it up and trotting over to Sleepless.
"Put eet in meh hair," she murmured past it, offering it from her mouth. "I cansh do eet myshelf."

"You're going to lose it that way," she warned, but took it carefully and stuck it in her hair as well as she could.

"I THINK YOU'RE SENILE!" she screamed - and ran hoof-first into a fresh pile of dirt. Struggling to free her leg, she kicked right through to the hole beneath - and a furious stoat erupted, launching itself right at her ankles.
"AAAAAHHHHH!!!" she contributed, "AAAAHHHH AAAAH OW! OW! OW! AAAAHHHHH!!!"
When she'd eventually escaped from the stoat, she had to collapse in a heap. Her fluffy ankles were stained red and each step was feeling a lot like agony.
"I can't go on," she whined, "I'll stay here."
And she meant it too - her ankles couldn't run away from Bitter End in their present state if she tried.

Bitter End paused, actually feeling quite bad for Sleepless after the horrifying encounter that she was glad not to have experienced.
"Take care," she said almost tenderly, looking at her bloodstained fur and wincing away. "I'll be back for you."

Bitter End saw that puddle with blue edges again, and decided to attempt going on another path. She was slightly ashamed by her lack of direction.

She stopped in her tracks and decided she was really beyond help. Either that, or her sister was.

Strangely, there was a weirdly suitable log, almost exactly the same as the one they'd rolled back yesterday. It was obvious that she wouldn't be able to do it alone, so...
Scampering back to where she'd just left, she hollered "PRISTINE!"
