Hematite saw Fois fly out of the way and frowned. She shook off a faint dizziness and tried to send a lightning bolt where she thought the Hoothoot had gone.
Meanwhile, Spinel trotted back to Lyle, holding two small bags in his hands. He handed one to Lyle, which proved to be a small bag of potato chips, and kept the small cloth sack for himself.

The lightning struck Fois and surprised him enough to knock him out of the tree. He fell to the ground and quickly got up and scurried behind the tree. He hunched over and stared at the Haunter from behind the tree trunk.

Hematite felt another light wave of dizziness and turned around to look for her opponent. She headed for where she thought eh heard a sound of something moving and tossed a lightning bolt in that direction.
Lyle opened the bag of potato chips Spinel had brought him and started snacking. Spinel reached into his cloth sack and pulled out some quartz pebbles, which he started munching on like popcorn.

The Thunderbolt struck Fois with such force that he was sent tumbling backwards. Yet, he didn't actually feel a thing? The Hoothoot got up and ruffled his feathers before taking off to a higher spot among the branches. Once he goes settled he kept a cautious watch out for his opponent.
Valarie just flopped on the ground and open up her bag to pull out her sketchbook to keep herself busy, since, nothing is actually going on yet. Well, nothing that she could see.

Hematite was looking around quickly for her opponent. Did she get momentarily dizzy again? It was hard to tell. It was also hard to spot the Hoothoot. So she just started calling lightning bolts down at random spots on the field.

A bolt struck the branch Fois was perched on and it broke off from the trunk of the tree. Startled, the Hoothoot flew out of the tree and sought out another hiding place. His eyes still cast a slight glow.

Hematite spotted Fois flying out of the tree and grinned. She ignored the sudden dizziness - it was a frequent but minor annoyance, really - and sent another lightning bolt streaking towards Fois.

The bolt destroyed Fois' hiding place and he fell onto the branch beneath him. He quickly shimmied to the end of the branch and took off into the air and into a tree that was a bit further away. The Hoothoot continued to use Extrasensory on the Haunter hoping desperately that it would have some kind of effect.

Hematite had almost forgotten the point of this battle. She was having too much fun with target practice. As soon as she saw Fois flying to a new spot, she sent another bolt of lighting in the owl's direction.

The bolt shocked Fois again and he immediately flew out of the tree he was residing in. He flew around in circles before finally settling down and focusing on the Haunter.

Hematite decided she was tired of Thunderbolts for the moment. She switched sending gusts of wind around the stadium, taking the chance to add in a few creepy ghost cackles, just for fun.

The breeze blew over Fois, and he gave his feathers a small shake. The wind was pretty chilly, so he stared at the Haunter for a bit with his glowing eyes and moments later his feathers became even puffier and cozier.

Hematite continued to blast gusts of wind through the forest, tossing leaves and branches every which way. Now and then she'd let the wind die down a bit, then send the wind howling through with renewed force. As she did, she took the chance to hide herself in some thick foliage, then floated very still. Let Fois have to hunt her out for a change!

Fois was completely unaffected by the next breeze. He ignored the leaves rustling in his face and he spotted the Haunter move into some foliage. Not sure what she is up to, he flew over and gently landed into a tree that was a bit closer and tried to use Extrasensory on Hematite from there.
