One can only imagine where Hiro was finding the strength to do all of this. Perhaps, after years of putting people over, taking the beatings, his body became tolerant to long periods of pain. His nose was definitely broken, and his body was already not doing too well before this match. His head pounded, his eyes glazed, but he still wore a sick smile with blood stained teeth and a crimson mask that told the story of two men who were once close and were separated by a low blow, and a measure of backstabbing.

Hiro reached down and picked up Salem, and attempt to send him into the ring, where he would look to hook his leg and end the whole damn match!

Salem worked his jaw in a chewing motion as he was picked up and tossed into the ring like a prop, like an afterthought, put into prime position for Hiro to capitalize and capture the world title. Meanwhile, fans across the arena were on the edges of their seat as Hiro went to make the first and only pin attempt so far in the match. The referee wasted no time dropping for the cover, perhaps hoping this to be the end if only to avoid seeing more pain inflicted to the beloved champ than need be. But which party would be vindicated over the next fateful, few seconds? "One!" the ref cried. "Two!" he shouted after hitting the mat a second time. But before the official could tap the mat a final time, a burst of life leaked out of the previously still serpent, Salem shouldering up with just enough strength to break the cover, but not enough to get out from underneath Hiro! It didn't matter - seeing some fight left in "The Copperhead" was all the audience needed to erupt into a series of cheers once more, praying that Salem was going to turn this all around!

Hiro was fumed up. He seemed so surprised that the champion would kick out, and to hear people CHEER the fact that Hiro wasn't champion just yet really upset the hell out of him. Sitting up, he slowly shook his head. "YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED DOWN!" Hiro boomed, looking at the ref who showed off just two fingers. Never before did Hiro ever seriously feel like wrapping his hands around someone's throat and making sure they stopped breathing, until now. Looking at Salem's pained expression on his face, Hiro dropped his entire upper body on Salem's chest, attempting to pin him once more! This was going to end HERE!
PostPosted: Wed Apr 16, 2014 8:39 pm

Hiro was visibly angered about only getting a near-fall, taking a second to argue with the ref while Salem was given an extra moment to catch his breath, barely registering any movement after the successful shoulder-up. But perhaps that brief moment was all the champion needed, as Hiro's attempt to smother the crowd with another cover attempt was once again cut short at the two-count, this time from a kick-out! Though he'd not demonstrated much luck lately in standing up on those beaten legs of his, they were still good for saving him a costly defeat at the hands of his old friend and challenger, showcasing the resilience "Mr. Rookie of the Year" had when his back was against the wall...or rather, the mat. Provoking another rousing set of cheers from the capacity crowd, Salem's hands started to weakly flex in the effort of making fists as the champ struggled to turn his head from side to side, blinking to regain his vision! "The Copperhead" wasn't dead, yet!

The Embodiment of Hatred had reached his boiling point. There was seriously nothing left he could do but KILL Salem to keep him down. However, Hiro wasn't going to resort to that...yet. He reached down and took a handful of Salem's hair as he sat up on his knees, yelling at him. "GIVE UP! GIVE UP! DON'T MAKE ME HAVE TO HURT YOU ANYMORE THAN I HAVE!" Hiro screamed as Salem, some of the blood and saliva mixture covering Salem's face. For a second, Hiro stopped. He shut up. He looked down at Salem. The man was in obvious pain. Hiro let go of him, and looked at his own hands. The pain and aches started to effect him even more. He wonder what it was he was doing. To his friend. To his pupil. To his brother. What was gold causing him to do? What did Blackjack turn him into? Was Hiro perhaps having a change of heart? No, because after a second, he immediately realized that this was BBW, he was contesting for the BBW Championship, and Salem's time of taking Hiro's long awaited spotlight from him was OVER! "YOU CAN HEAR ME, CROFT. GIVE UP, NOW!"

Hiro's harsh words were almost drowned out by the fans, booing the b*****d for s**t-talking the champion for showing heart for his world title. But Salem was still aware of what Hiro was saying, despite the audience's best efforts. In fact, Salem was becoming aware of a lot of things as his former best friend berated him...like the feel of Hiro's grip going through his hair, or the goosebumps that were standing Salem's hairs on end from the adrenaline gradually cranking his senses back to life. But most importantly, Salem was aware of the taste in his mouth...a bitter, vengeful taste that had started earlier, before his tumble over the barricade, and intensified more recently when he was rolled into the ring...

Hiro had done more than bust open Salem's lip...

He'd done more than make him bleed...

He'd made Salem hurt, more than Salem had been since debuting in BBW. Hiro had crossed the threshold of decency and walked out on their friendship this evening on more than one occasion. What flowed out of Salem's open wounds was thicker than simply blood, and darker than the pupil's of the champion's eyes as he looked up at his challenger, tasting the coarse concoction of blood blended with the only thing more potent than Hiro's passion...

"The Copperhead's" venom.

Without warning, Salem spat a mist of green spray all across Hiro's face, interrupting the raving wrestler's rant with a surprising spectacle that inspired the fans while giving the challenger's features a fresh coat of paint!

"I SAID, GIVE...U-" Suddenly, Hiro was cute off mid-sentence as a green mist shot out of Salem's mouth and covered his face, making him screech. "AH! AH! MY EYES!" Hiro bellowed, immediately covering his face as tears welded up and he coughed, having ingested a little bit of the venom. The fans were on their feet, stating a "Holy s**t" chant that made Hiro's blood boil. Hiro stomped his foot on the mat as he rolled about trying to free his eyes of this green mist, but to no avail. He was ********! This could very well be it! Hiro sold his soul for this match, threw away EVERYTHING, and this could seriously be the end of the road for him. Again, he could very well find himself on the losing end of a bout with The Copperhead, Salem Croft.

The crowd went wild as Hiro's face was plastered with the venom spray, Salem managing to sit up while his opponent writhed and rolled about the ring. Some laughed, most cheered, but all watched intently to see whether "The Copperhead" could capitalize on the opening and recover some of the much needed stamina that he'd expended trying to endure the Hated One's harshness. He wouldn't quit. He couldn't quit. With so many people surrounding him, supporting his success to get this far, he couldn't let it all be taken away because Hiro Shin-Mozas had a chip on his shoulder. Salem had his own burdens to bear, and they wouldn't get any easier if he just kept sitting on his shins.

So, using a hand to balance himself, Salem slowly started to stand up and restore the circulation to its proper balance throughout his body, the crowd building into a crescendo as the champ set his sights on the flailing frenemy that was struggling to recover from the momentary blindness. Taking a second to wipe the excess spit, blood, and spray from his mouth, the burn in Croft's muscles was becoming a stimulating kind of strain. It was as though an opportunity had presented itself for the face of Bad Blood Wrestling to really shed his skin, to really sink his fangs deep into his opponent, and the trial of enduring such pain for the sake of his title was motivating him to push his body harder, further than ever before. Only needing a couple wobbly steps to regain his footing, Salem stalked Hiro with a slow-moving crouch, reaching into his pocket for something yet unseen as he did so...

Hiro's eyes were still in severe pain, as was his body, and the fans weren't helping him at all. For the first time this evening, there wasn't anything to make anyone believe a single person in that park was behind the challenger. The Most Hated Man in Wrestling History's supporters were silenced by the men, women, and children who placed their faith within the BBW Champion. Hiro couldn't even feel anger from this, he was more preoccupied with seeing again. Staggering to his feet while rubbing his eyes, finally, Hiro opened them wide and looked around at the crowd that seemed shocked. A mask of dried blood. Thirty blood stained teeth. Completely bloodshot and tearing eyes. The horrific sight told a real picture of a man that has come so far and has been dealt so much punishment, that was about ready to fail one last time. Hiro flipped around, unsure of exactly where Salem was, but that might've been a mistake.

As Hiro's face was wiped into a Joker-esque mask of red and green, Salem was retrieving from his pocket an object - small, slender, with rubber scales and banded black stripes that made it resemble a small snake. As a cameraman came up close to the ropes to catch a better view of it, "The Copperhead" brandished the object up, revealing it to be the stapler he'd had with him earlier in the evening when Salem had first showed up to the stadium! Hiro was oblivious to Croft's presence, allowing the wounded and restless world champion to approach his assailant from behind, ample distance between them as Hiro whipped around for Salem to swing his clenched fist upward and hit his signature uppercut, the "Snake Bite", into the soft spot beneath the challenger's chin, stapler and all!

Hiro stumbled right into the greatest amount of pain he'd felt all night. You know, it's almost like Salem truly didn't care about Hiro any longer. Someone could think he was trying to hurt Hiro to knock some sense into him. Salem, however, would probably correct you, and point to the three still freshly carved lines in his back that were literally from his good friend backstabbing him. This was revenge. Salem's uppercut connected and released a stable that gashed right through Hiro's chin and stuck, causing the Embodiment of Hate to howl out in immense pain, and for the pains to break out cheering and with their fifth or sixth "Holy s**t" chant of the evening. Hiro began back peddling, holding his chin, as he tripped on one of his feet, and fell back, hitting the ropes. He bounced off them and began to tumbling forward, right back at Salem Croft!

Salem's stapling strike had drawn blood, and the world champion could smell it in the air as Hiro shrieked and stumbled backward. The beloved BBW belt-holder had been getting mauled for much of the night, but it hadn't been enough to keep the good man down. The young man was still fighting, he still had life in his veins! Fire in his heart! An all-consuming passion that would devour his mind, his body, his soul before it let him give up or back down! As the wounded Hiro came reeling off the ropes, Salem's nostrils flared - his eyes, furrowing into a glare that made the champ appear eight feet tall...but that was only the explosive legwork of "The Copperhead", jumping up as his prey came bumbling forward to try taking him down with a Lou Thesz Press!

Hiro was suddenly taken down by the Lou Thesz Press, making the ring shake! The fans were up on their feet, anticipating what was gonna happen. Hiro seemed like a bit of a wreck, angered greatly that his changing personality didn't produce what he needed: the win. He was now awaiting possible serious pain, and he just might have to leave tonight in an ambulance, not with the BBW Championship. Salem had the upper hand, as he lay on the Most Hated Man in Wrestling History, the fans roar beginning to pick up in volume, shaking the bleachers they sat on, and the ground. This park might never be the same after this bout.

At last, Salem had finally seized control of the fight once again, and - being that it was, indeed, a fight at this point - wasted no time in delivering some much desired retribution. With a look in his eyes that had more spark and fire than lightning, "The Copperhead" snarled and whipped his occupied hand back, using his empty palm to try and open Hiro's defensive posture for his fist to hammer down blow after blow from the stapler! Grunting hard with every attempt, the world champ was releasing all his frustration, all his fury upon the Hated One's face while the stands raged on! Phones were out, people were up, even shirts and rubber snakes were being swung 'round in the air by the BBW Faithful in support of their favorite son squashing this beef!

Hiro's eyes slowly opened once more, he could finally see...and he was horrified. He attacked Salem's back with a weapon. Not his FACE. This...This was it. There was, officially, no going back any longer. Nothing between these men was every going to be the same. Once again, time seemed to stand still. Salem was moving in slow motion. The fans were quiet. Hiro's only thought process was the link between he and Salem at that very moment. Hiro's eyes didn't have fear in them. No, not this time. They had pure hatred. Hiro caught a view of Salem's eyes, they look like those of a true Copperhead. A predator. A man who looked like a small part of him died here tonight. Sure, he was probably going to walk out with his BBW Championship, but was the crowd's favorite son truly happy? Was he truly going to walk out of this park tonight, with his belt held high, feeling right? No. He wasn't, and Hiro could see that. No matter how much he tried to deny it, Salem didn't want things to come to this. The same look in Hiro's eyes, he could begin to see in Salem's eyes. Hatred. Perhaps, when Salem said he took something every fight he had, he was right.

It looks like from this fight...Salem was going to be taking hatred away from it.

The staples began to rain down on Hiro's face, with each click of the stapler, another flash filled the ring from a fan's camera. Hiro's was screaming, seemingly begging for mercy, waiting for one of the staples to enter his eyes. Thankfully, he missed the eyes, but left four staples in Hiro's forehead, one on his eyebrow, one in his nose, and two on top of each other in his cheek. The dried blood now shined as the spotlights hit it thanks to the staples, and a few rain drops began to produce from the sky. It's as though the gods were crying over a friendship lost here tonight, a long standing respect, gone forever.

Was any of this truly worth it?
