are you referring to when Sabe beats the s**t out of Waffle with Nari's help?
No, that part's on like page 550-something-or-other.
Page 522 is when Sabe gets his s**t kicked in hard by Luciano for something he never even did (accused of ruining Michelle's flower garden, even though the plants weren't cared for and died on their own), and is pummeled to salsa and broken bones before he can explain himself. From that point onward but prior to him smashing Waffle's face in, he was extremely passive and skittish, and would usually freak out at the first sign of trouble.

You were still forming your character, and it hardly matters since we're changing a lot of stuff.

hmm... I think I see you're point. I noticed the aftereffects, but hadn't seen the part with Luc beating him up. this clears alot up. I knew something had happened, I just didn't know what.
it felt almost like Sabe was traumatized nearly to the point of being unplayable. so I can imagine that you don't want that part sticking around like a cancer on his character. it's exactly why most DMs don't use Sanity mechanics in D&D. invisible wounds never really heal.

It's mostly the events that follow from that point that cause it. But yeah. As with Waffle I accidentally wrote him into a corner. He could be gotten out of the corner with a subplot, but there's a lot of bigger problems in the roleplay that need fixed like setting inconsistencies and plot holes that are only solved with a revision.
D&D nitpickin': iirc there are a lot of ways in rules-as-written to get Sanity back, but a lot of folks don't bother since their campaign is more Lovecraftian horror than character drama.

aye, it's true, but because the only way to keep these characters from having more episodes later is to keep them sheltered or take tons of precautions all the time. even when they have recovered, they will always run the risk of relapsing if they go marching back into danger again.

Your link brings me to a login screen for tumblr. I'm not signing up for tumblr.
Anyway, mine was pretty good. Grandma had come over for the whole day and I got to spend some time with her before everyone else in the house got too rowdy and noisy for me.

Don't quote me on this, but you might be able to change some setting or other so it's viewable by the general public.
As for swanky stuff: I got mostly small appliances this year, like a rice cooker (supposed to be pretty good for its price, will try it later), a coffee maker (walmart-tier, not expecting much), and a personal heater/fan (works well; no more frosty toes even when barefoot). I also got a pair of toe-socks with a snowflake pattern on them; they're now my 'around the house' socks. And I finally got a pillow to replace my lumpy old one.

I like the rice cooker in particular. I just hope my parents don't "borrow" it and ******** it up by either misusing it or leaving it sit dirty and get whatever crust on the inside of it.

Mine was good. Pretty uneventful, except for the fact that my uncle visited us. I don't see him a lot, so it's awesome when we get to talk. ^^
I got Divergent and Insurgent, one of those new and popular book series; a yellow watch; Legend of Korra Book 1 soundtrack; John Legend's Love in the Future; Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience; Hello Kitty pj bottoms.
everyone, you're Christmas hauls are awesome! biggrin though, I totally get you, Jay, cleaning rice cookers is a pain. xp I had to wash the giant ones at the restaurant I worked at.
anyway, my Christmas was pretty sweet as well. ^_^ as far as presents go, I got Applejack and Pinky Pie plushies, a Grape-scented MLP Body Wash, a giant bottle of triple-brewed Ginger Ale, some candy, Incense, Organic Soap, a cool Dragon figurine, an Elf ornament, a bunch of cute Cat postcards, a Chicken Soup For The Soul book of stories about Cats, a Julia Childs book, new razors, a bandana, a cute metal wallet with a rainbow and panda on it, and the highlight.... a Collectable set of The Hobbit PEZ Dispensers! biggrin I'm keeping it in the box, hoping it'll be worthe some serious cash in the future. =w=

Update on the rice cooker, since I was able to make use of it today: I didn't expect it to bubble and spew out starch water halfway through, but it turned out pretty well. Probably too much water in there, even though I was following the manufacturer's instructions to the letter. sweatdrop
The rice was soft and not grainy, and I was able to mow through a large bowl of beans & rice, ham and all.

(excuse the double post) Turtle's back in the guild, guys. 3nodding

First things first: welcome back to the guild. It's good to know you finally got some spare time for roleplaying.
When I mentioned that you came in at the right time, I wasn't very specific. We're in the middle of rewriting the setting, characters, and some plots to fix the inconsistencies that built up over the years, then 'rebooting' the roleplay in a new thread. The Temp Planning thread is where we're discussing these changes, please join in.
The original RP thread is on the tail-end of its last plot, so you will have to wait until the new one springs up to start introducing characters.
I also split up OOC into a general chat thread and an rp discussion thread, as to keep the plot-stuff from being buried under a mountain of chitchat like last time.
