Oh what's this now...???
With parties in full swing, the people of Destiny City happily count down the minutes until the moon is fully eclipsed. Though the moon has slowly been shrinking away it isn't until the clock strikes 9:14PM, that the moon is completely eclipsed. As you look up to see the glorious light of the eclipse, you notice something odd in the sky. They look like hundreds of tiny specs flowing out from the shadow of the moon. You blink and they seem to be getting bigger. Is it a swarm of insects? Huge groups of birds migrating? At night though???
You blink and suddenly the strange things are upon you, floating just above your head and the heads of everyone around you - strange, rabbit-like creatures with tiny butterfly wings. They reach out, slowly, and touch you gently on the forehead. You feel strange, as if something is being pulled from your body. Before you can protest, say something or even reach up to grab the alien little thing, it seems to have disappeared.
Did you really see that? Or was it all just a hallucination...?

And keep your eyes out for another prompt within the next 24 hours to see just what's going on. There will also be a handy dandy Event Q&A that opens up at the same time so keep an eye out for that.
That said you may continue to play in this ORP as long as you want to! It will not be locked and closed until the event comes to an end. Kor was just relaxing when he heard his cooler open and felt a hand on his shoulder afterwards. It was Lune, that little weasel, stealing a beer. He reached out, trying to snatch the bottle from him and then realized he was far, far too lazy to really stop him. With a little noise, he just listened to that voice and smirked lightly. Well, he could seriously enjoy Lune's company during this, and he was going to ask, but he figured, with how he was looking, Lune had Michael in his sights. He sighed lightly and his lips pulled into a frown.
Damn, there goes that idea. "See you later, Lune. You have my number, so text me, yeah?" With that done, he just yawned and blinked as his phone suddenly rang. His cell was slipped out of his pocket and he saw Richard's name on the screen.
Upon answering, he heard the belch, rolled his eyes and then blinked. "Lost? How are you lost, it's... Oh, never mind, you're probably drunk. Where are you exactly?" He stood up and picked up his cooler again. "I'll come get you." He wasn't annoyed with Richard, not at all. He was glad he might be able to see him again. It wasn't often they got together, or even really contact each other. That's why he'd been surprised when he saw it was Richard calling him. Maybe he meant to call Krishna...? He wasn't sure, but here he was.
"Come on, Richard, stop walking and tell me where you are."

Delilah would never miss a date with Serenity - even if she was a little late. "Sorry, sweetheart," she said as she arrived - dressed, as usual, gracefully, in a cute ruffly white blouse, pale pink pleated skirt, and white tights. She sat down carefully, and then leaned back. "An eclipse, huh? That's kind of exciting." Sure, astronomy wasn't really her thing, but they only happened so often, right?Alistair could not have been happier. How was he supposed to not smile, when he was finally on a real date with Lance? Sure, he was technically also there with friends, but mostly...first official real date with his boyfriend. Yes, this was going to be wonderful. He laid out a decent-sized blanket on the grass and then sat down, unable to wipe the excited grin off his face.
A date. With Lance. A date with Lance.Gabriel hummed as he flopped down on the ground, leaning back on his elbows and adjusting his eclipse-viewing glasses. "This should be fun," he said, glancing back at Des. It was nice to have a friend that was actually into astronomy.

Micah had finally gotten away from her over bearing brother somewhere between fussing over her recent injuries and the chaos after the convention. She'd sworn to him on pain of death that she would not, under any circumstances, power up and go gallivanting around where there were crowds of people. She did not, however, swear on pain of death that she would not stay UN powered and go gallivanting around where there were crowds of people. Which was exactly what she was doing.
Sure, she UNDERSTOOD what Misha meant when he barricaded her in her room to heal fully from what Bischofite had done to her, but that didn't mean that she was going to actually LISTEN. Those were two totally different things and if Misha was even a little bit surprised, then he needed to reevaluate just how well he knew his sister.
For real, what could actually go wrong? They were outside, plenty of escape routes, well lit, science everywhere.
And flying bunnies.
Micah nearly cussed when one poked her square between the eyes. By the time she batted at it, the thing was gone. If Misha ever found out about this, not only was Micah dead, but she was also never living this down.

Gerhard had been amongst the many people enjoying the festival/party going on in the city. Standing with everyone, a hot pumpkin spice espresso in hand, he started the countdown along with those around him. Green eyes were focused on the moon as it was swallowed up by darkness. The eclipse was a sight to see really. Did other people, in other places, celebrate it as they were now? Or at all? He was sure other cultures did celebrate it; he'd look up how once he got home from this. Maybe the next time around he'd be somewhere else watching how other people celebrated it - yes that was a good idea.
As the moon vanished he saw...glitter? Was he seeing something? As people next to him, children, started to whisper he now knew he wasn't seeing something. Or rather he wasn't hallucinating. He was seeing something strange just like those around him. Watching as it got closer...and closer he stared at what appeared above peoples heads. Little...bunnies with wings? What on earth was he looking at? This wasn't possible - correct? And yet two teenage girls next to him were pointing at each other and commenting on the tiny little creatures which moments later were reaching out...but for what? It certainly didn't seem like a bad thing....how could it be bad when they were so cute?
Was something tugging at him? At what? He couldn't describe or even sat what but it felt like something within him was being tugged at before it just - stopped and the little things were gone. What were they? Were they real or something? There was no way he and those around him were having like a mass hallucination. It simply made no sense.
He'd be looking this up when he got home and he hoped someone had pictures of these little things.

"Pshhh Quenton, thanks. You're too nice." She piled turkey and moon cookies and carrots and cheeseburgers and potatoes and egg rolls and hard boiled eggs with sweet potato french fries and calamari onto her plate and then she smiled at the bunny flying above her head and it reached onto her forehead and she felt a pull, like flowers reaching from the grass to face the sun, and she said, "Oh" and she almost dropped her plate, and she smiled at Quenton who surely didn't see the rabbit. Maybe she went crazy after all. Between the talking cats and sparkling skirts and pink shine. Quenton seemed so rational, so just. Surely he would think of her as super crazy and not want to hang out with her if she confessed a flying rabbit just touched her head. No, that wouldn't be good at all.
She bit into the turkey leg. "You hungry, bro?" She laughed. "I'm starving, and the sear on this leg is delicious." She shrugged. "I'm forcing myself to like vegetables. That's why I grabbed french fries." She nodded very seriously--disturbed by her potential madness. She couldn't let anyone know. Ever. "Maybe there's more to horoscopes after all, since you know--" Another laugh. "--things. You're right, though. It might not be a bad idea to reflect on the supernatural from time to time."
She stuffed a cake pop into her mouth. Maybe those weren't bunnies from the sky. Maybe they were...
"You believe in ghosts?"

The feel of a little furry body cuddling up against her chest made Orah smile and she cradled the kitten close as she swept into the back.
"Everyone is here to see the moon tonight." She laughed, gently depositing the himalayan onto the counter where the register usually sat. Her slim, brown hands quickly re-tucked her sari from where the guardian had pulled it free. When that was done, she swept Horatio up again and moved to the boxes of moon pies, snagging one as she went by.
"I can get you some silk to play with later if you want, but right now I have to get back out front and help my father with the customers." Orah chuckled as she used the hand that wasn't holding a guardian and her teeth to break open the packaging. Carrying Horatio outside again, she made her way to a back corner and sank down on one of the cushions to settled the cat on her lap. Opening the package fully now, she offered the moon cake her, running a hand down her back. "Here, are you hungry? I'll make some time to play with you a bit later, once the business slows down."
Murmured conversation and exclamations drew the young girl's attention and she glanced around, looking upwards as she realized the eclipse was starting. "Look, Horatio!" She said. It was amazing to see the light darken... and she gasped with shock as something flew out of the moon, towards the people out on the streets. A thrill of concern flashed through her and she instinctively reached for her henshin pen, but... what appeared above her head surprised her all over again and for a critical moment, the teen paused.
It was... a small rabbit? And those wings... they were beautiful. She stared up in wide-eyed wonder as it reached to touch her, a sigh slipping from her lips as something passed from her to it. The feeling scared her and Orah jerked back, but... it was gone. She looked about to make sure everyone else was okay, but it looked like nothing out of the ordinary was happening around her.
"What... what was that?" She said softly to the kitty in her lap.Quicksilver the Archangel

“Adira?....ADIRA!” He said and hugged her, which was in itself a clue that he was intoxicated; Zac had a ‘personal boundary’ that could be set at a ‘mile’ radius. He stepped back and gestured excitedly at Ever. “This, this is Ever! He’s my…ah…” he waved his hands at Ever, at a loss for words. “He’s pretty drunk.” He nodded sagely. “I’m, perhaps a little, but I swear I am not endangering my scholarship!” He said holding up his hands. “I haven’t seen you in –ages! Where did you go?” As though he didn’t have enough questions rattling around in his head, then… then there were the …flying bunnies? Oh he did NOT like that, not at all, not the feeling that something had been drawn out of him. He reached out and grabbed Ever’s hand more blindly than not, squeezing. “Did anyone else say that?” he looked anxious. “D…Did anyone else see that?” He wasn’t sure, it had been strange even for –this- city, but his stomach was twisting into knots at the thought he might have truly –lost- something.

Darling?...DARLING!? what? Why such a cute nickname!? They literally just met! It seemed Glen had lost some brain capacity (seriously?) but not enough that he didn't at least respond. "Y-yeah, um, let's...have you even said your name? Have we even introduced ourselves?"
Think back Glen, think....no. But you couldn't just call someone darling and not have at least exchanged names right? In Glen's effort to get over this one word, he failed to notice the eclipse, at least, not until he noticed the darkening sky and looking up only to have a rabbit thing(!?) appear right in his face and touch him. "The hell? Did that just happen?" He asked to maybe noone, but probably the girl beside him. He rubbed his forehead, not sure if the thing that had touched it had ever been there. Ah well, it was enough to snap the young man out of his brain fried moment. "I'm Glen. So there, you know my name and can tell me yours."parue Well, at least he'll maybe figure it out? Maybe.

The rich smell of coffee, combined with the mention of it being free had Arian finding his way over to a booth set up with coffee dispensers.
Although not really an espresso fan, Arian prefer his coffee with added syrup and whipped cream - and basically all the sweet toppings, the free combined with the fact that he was feeling a little chilled was a powerful lure.
As he got closer he recognised the shop, Espresso Yourself. Although it wasn't not one he went to that often their coffee was undeniably good and they did nice sweet snacks to go with it. In fact he'd met Isha there not that long ago to discuss teaching him the basics of jewellery-making and had shown him how to make bead links.
He thought he recognised the mint green-haired teen, who appeared to be representing the booth, waiting his turn patiently in line to get a cup of coffee.
He hadn't realised how late it had gotten until the buzz of the people around him increased in noise as people started doing countdowns.
Although he didn't join in countdown, Arian couldn't help but look up at the sky and watch as the moon was eclipsed and blinked - was that specks he were seeing, and were they getting bigger? It took a few moments to realise that yes they were getting bigger and the the things were upon him, strange rabbit-thingies that tapped him on the forehead and then disappeared before he could even really register them. He frowned, putting the moment of strangeness he'd felt as general tiredness and a hint that mayhaps he could do with a bite to eat, realising suddenly that he was at the top of the queue.
"Harmony is that you?" He asked the mint green-haired teen, deciding last minute that he was still going to grab a cup of coffee before heading out to meet Saffy for dinner, he was pretty sure Saffy had suggested they meet at around quarter to which meant that he still had time.

Marlin's Dad had relieved him at about ten to nine and Marlin had wasted no time in hitting the streets. Steve and Chloe were still around and he had agreed to meet up with them near by one of the many live bands.
He'd stopped off along the way and picked up some coffee and doughnuts, they weren't moon pies but he figured that they'd be just as welcome.
It had pleasant the three of them, munching on the sugary treat and in between drinking the cups of scalding hot coffee, the mood of the crowd infectious.
As the eclipse neared, someone started a countdown, Marlin cheerfully joining in, a loud cheer going round once the moon was fully eclipsed.
And then he frowned as something caught his attention, tiny specs seeming to flow from the moon. Shaking his head, maybe he was imagining things he looked again, only to find himself surrounded by rabbit-like things. He stared transfixed, unable to look away as one then another reached out towards him, feeling a gentle touch on the forehead and then starting to feel...
"Hey did you see that?" Steve's voice disrupted his thoughts as Marlin turned towards him and Chloe and then frowned slightly as he realised that the rabbit thing, or whatever it was had disappeared.
Chloe was speaking now, suggesting that maybe they'd just been imaginging things, Marlin starting to wonder if maybe she was right and then Steve was suggesting they go get more coffee, Chloe disagreeing and suggesting that they go look for some real food. As they both looked towards him Marlin decided to dismiss the rabbit thing - at least for now.
------------------------------------------------------
There had been a buzz about the city today making it more exciting than usual. It had started from him making his round to the bakery and the lady there giving him cake - a nice bit of cake all to himself, instead of the little bit of bread that he usually got.
There'd been a fair bit of people around too and music and pretty decorations. Some of the people around were even dressed up in costumes, the pretty material catching his eye on more than one occasion.
There had been so much to see that Liryn hadn't been sure where to start at first, but had ended up following the sound of the music from one of the bands to start.
He'd eventually ended up at the park, belly full with some more crumbs that he'd picked up and had climbed a tree to look out on the park.
He was still in said tree when the actual eclipse happened purplish eyes wide with wonder at the pretty specs that seemed to flow out from the eclipsed moon and then with curiousity as the specs seemed to get bigger. He blinked and the specs were suddenly rabbit-like things with pretty wings.
One reached out suddenly, bopping him on the forehead, its touch surprisingly gentle given that it had just bopped him and bops weren't generally gentle but when he blinked they had disappeared, as if they had never been there.
The brief feeling of having lost something was put aside, purplish eyes sparkling as he looked up again at the sky. Oooh a mystery! Liryn liked mysteries.

Although Briar hadn't been successful in slipping any of the cookies prior to the picnic itself, he'd spent an enjoyable time playing frisbee with his Mum and Dad.
It had been a while since they'd done something like this as generally both his Mum and Dad tended to work long hours and although Briar was a big boy and could look after himself, he found himself enjoying the rare bit of family time.
And then it had been time for the picnic, his Mum having packed up the green and red checked blanket and everything until eventually after feasting on chicken legs and potato legs it was finally time for the cookies and a can of lemonade.
His Mum and Dad had wanted to head home after once they'd realised that eclipse itself wasn't happening until around quarter past nine or so, but had agreed eventually that they could stay out until after the eclipse happened on the promise that Briar went straight to bed when they got in.
It felt like forever until his Dad told him that the eclipse was starting and Briar was starting to feel drowsy as he leaned against his Dad and stared up at the sky in order to catch the action.
It was certainly worth staying up for - the whole thing had been so neat! Although the rabbit-thingies had been weird. Although maybe he'd dreamed them since Mum and Dad hadn't seemed to see them and they weren't there now. Even though he was sure he'd felt some touch him, really really sure.
He blinked up at his Dad as the picnic blanket suddenly settled round his shoulders, saw his Mum packing things away into the picnic basket. "I can help" he said as he reached for one of the empty lemonade tins and looked for a park bin.
Between the three of them it didn’t take long before everything was packed away, Briar wearing the picnic blanket like a cloak.
As he trailed after his parents while trying not to yawn, Briar could hear voices from some of the other people out and about in the park.
Despite big brother not being able to come, tonight had definitely been one of the bestest.

The eclipse.
Anelie turned her face expectantly towards the sky, pulling the jacket hood off her head so she could get a better view of the proceedings. It felt as though the whole world around her had stilled just for this moment, as everyone looked upwards.
Wait a moment?
The girl frowned, her gaze following the movement of a million tiny dark specks. Then they were among the people and her mouth made a delighted ‘O’ when she took in the rabbit-like form.
They were gone too soon, her hand lifting to wave farewell.

Trinity couldn't help but grin at his expression at the petname. He didn't have to know that it was a blanket term she used for anyone she had a passing fondness for, the deer in the headlights look he had made it all worth while. It was precious. Like Grumpy Bear from the old cartoons.
" No, we haven't formally introduced ourselves yet. We were busy dodging tiny ankle biting canines. " She was still grinning. Her mind had totally slipped into date mode, and she linked an arm with his, wondering if she could get that deer in the headlights look on his face again. It was precious. Maybe he didn't do this often? She was in the middle of opening her mouth to tell him her name, when the cluster of stars got brighter.... stars? But they were moving like silvery fireflys, down to the earth.
And then suddenly, there was a thing in front of her, A rabbity butterfly thing. It laid a tiny little paw on her forhead, and she suddenly felt an intense feeling of loss, as if something precious had been taken from her. She made a quiet sound, almost like a soft gasp, but before she could even say anything, the little creature was gone, and then Glen was speaking.
" I think so... you saw the same thing as me right? " Her arm which had been linked through his in a very date manner only moments before were a little bit tighter, her eyes wide, her other hand holding lightly onto the sleeve of his sweater, her head tilted upwards, looking for the little winged rabbits. She spoke quietly, almost as if she were answering out of automatic reflex " Trinity... Wait, you DID see that right?! " turning eyes back to her impromptu companion, baffled that he could simply just... move on? After a butterfly rabbit pokes your face?

She wasn't actually paying attention to the eclipse itself, this was just another work night, so when people oohed and ahhed she didn't think it was unusual. She was bent over something and looking at the dispenser in front of her. She bent when she heard her name. It took her a moment when he spoke her name to recognize the face.
"Arian?"
She hadn't seen him in AGES!
Harm came out from behind the table and hugged him, grinning from ear to ear. She'd met him a few times - he came into the shop and came to her New Years party a few years back. To her he was a long lost friend come back home.
"Here!" She thrust a cup of their Hazelnut roast at him and a cheese danish besides. "How have you been?"

"You grin any wider and you're going to turn into the Cheshire cat..." And Lance was not sure how he'd feel about dating a cat. Des snickered. "Those look weird on you.." He said, plucking the glasses off Gabriel's face, sticking out his tongue.

The voice that came through the other end was certainly NOT Krishna's sultry, melodic voice, and it made Richard do a double take, scraping the side of his good boots against the pavement before steadying himself. "Mmmm... you're not Krishna... but you're Kor. Koooooor, how did you get my phone number? Oh, right... gave it to you... forgot."
With that, he kept walking, not at all paying attention to where he was going or what was going on around him. If he had, he'd be able to tell Kor were he was, or see the officers that watched him stumble around. He kept walking, even at Kor's request, and he turned around in a circle, trying to find something, anything that would tell him where he was, but nothing was ringing a bell.
No, the only thing he saw was this annoying little bunny with wings, floating right there between his eyes, and he wore such a scowl. He motioned to flick it away, spatting as he did so. "Do you mind? I am TRYING to have a conversation...! You're being... so very RUDE!"
He flicked it away when it reached for him, but there was nothing there. Just as soon as it appeared, it was gone, and he gave a triumphant laugh, before addressing the other on the phone, turning about and carrying on his way. "Anyway... I think I'm at-"
BAM.
Richard met a telephone pole, and it won.
