"Give me that-" Sam didn't bother with formalities as she walked over to Gale, took the recording device and very firmly smashed it. "Seriously I don't you know what you were expecting hun, but you can tell they set us up to get us to act us. Things are never found less they want to be." She didn't seem too bothered about it, but as she tucked away a strand of hair behind her ear, and failed to twice, it was becoming obvious she was quite agitated, just putting up a better front. "Okay, let's look at the evidence. Other than His Truly who probably went missing for god knows what reason-"

-"Yeah, he like probably had a date or something he forgot," Mark piped up, still typing into his cell phone.

"-For a good reason, or something," Sam rolled her eyes, "It doesn't mean we have to lose our minds. Let's look at the facts. Someone was here. They left this here for us to find, and they waited until someone was gone before showing us all of this and riling us up. I mean even if we got rid of one camera who says there aren't plenty everywhere." She put her hands to her hips. "Oh please seriously, I didn't want to get up in your Scooby-Doo exercises because people like this are a dime a dozen. They get off from getting a reaction out of you, the want to see you riled up to build some sort of overdone dramatic tension and you are letting them."

Sam looked very firmly up at where the camera might have been, at that angle. "If confrontation is what they want, then bring it. Theatrics do nothing because guess what, we have nothing to hide, especially not dead bodies that have been dead for a while."

The Death Hunter turned the body over. "New coat, but I don't recognize the face, as decorative as it is, and I recognize just about everyone, trust me. I make it part of my job. That means someone killed some poor sap, dragged them in Deus, put them in a nice fresh coat, and then placed them there. Mystery solved. Now can someone please move the body out."

The disease had apparently begun to take hold, because she was vomiting in the corner; Edgar slowly took a step backward, hoping to get out of the room before it was too late.

"The plaaague," he groaned, voice raspy and rattling.

He turned to respond to Solia, but was interrupted by the other lady's return, silently sinking to the floor with her. Well, he was certainly infected now, if he had managed to avoid the plague before. Might as well make the best of it.

"Fear not, maiden. Thy prince wilt stay with thee whilst we die," he assured her, patting her hair.

Taym tried to figure out how the idea of someone killing a random innocent, dressing up them up in a Deus coat, dragging them to the Island somehow, and walling them up Cask of Amontillado-style was supposed to be comforting.

He couldn't. He edged away from Sam, accordingly. Everyone is crazy.

Actually, no.

He was going to voice that thought:

"So... someone killing a random innocent, dressing up them up in a Deus coat, dragging them to the Island somehow, and walling them up Cask of Amontillado-style is supposed to be comforting. And somehow... the answer to a question. Instead of... a lot of ******** new questions. Right. I'll just assume you know more than me, given the rank and all."

He was doing >_> eyes though. Taym was bad at confrontation. Mile of sarcasm. Teeny tiny jello spine.

"Fine. If no one else is gunna get Petunia outta here, I will." He remarked to Sam, slipping on his sadly fingerless gloves. He then groaned and just rolled his sleeves passed his hands and moved to drag the body out the door. The smell was going to drive them all bonkers. Himself included.

Besides, he knew a thing or two about rotting corpses anyway. Lot's of experience, pre and post Deus.

"....." Sam and Mark had Solia's attention. "...... Caelius dates?" Color her surprised. A brief look to Sam. Did he date Sam? Was that another mystery? Maybe it was. Solia filed that nugget away to investigate later.

Otto was such a nice guy though, offering to get rid of the body.

Nice guy Otto. She really ought to thank him later. Maybe she would find him a nice pillow. Yes. A nice fluffy pillow for Otto.

Briefly wandering mentally, Israfel dragged her back to reality with a chirp.

"Oh hello there scraggly face!" She hadn't ever met this hunter before. But now she did. And she thought he'd look nice with maybe some flowers and concealer but not all men could have flawless skin and be bishonen on the island she guessed. Alas. "We apparently find a lot of dead people here. Look at it this way! You don't know them so it's not so bad. And innocent is.. subjective. This group would have killed someone they thought was guilty rather than innocent I think. Random deaths seem...." She tilted her head back at Gale.
"I dunno, not their style? They seem more the types to seek to do two birds one stone. Killing someone against their organization and using that corpse would provide more of a shock value later if and when we discover John Doe's identity. Not to mention it would remove an obstacle as it were."

Solia shrugged then looked at the direction of the 'mystery camera'

"Deus is supposed to have cameras all over- if they had to plant the body, wouldn't our cameras have caught them?"

Looking at you Mark.
Looking at you.

As Otto opened the door, it would reveal one of two things. One, that it was indeed a door. And two, at the other end of the open door was the Death Lead. Who had been standing there the entire time, for probably around twenty minutes. Just standing there.

There was this very long awkward pause where just about everyone had no clue how to say or react to to this.

"I have heard everything I need to hear." Wait, him saying that still did not answer why he was here the entire time. That had to be at least-

- Caelius stared particularly long at Sam, before letting Otto finally move the body over (to hopefully the Life Labs), moving over to procure the broken video camera and cell phone. "Someone clean up this ******** mess." He glanced at Mark just in case the Death assistant forgot what assistants, methodically examining then unhooking the noose (because thankfully he wasn't a midget), pulling out two more shapes from the rubble - one looked like a metallic circle and the other a washed-out photo - and grabbing an assortment of papers off his desk. He paused on the actual way out. "If you are weak, you will always remain weak. Anything and everything makes you scared, makes you realize how powerless you are, makes you realize how disposable you are to everything, even the most sloppily laid out events. If you want to stay and be of use this or any division, stop ******** around and look for results. I think this case is childish enough for even those of your intellect to figure out." His eyes slid to the corner of the wall for a second, and then back to the ground. "Because you could not assign yourselves to a role, it means I have to. Take what you've seen today, all the time you've been given to examine the situation, and bring back further results. I hope I do not need to clarify myself when I say results. Consider this your main priority, and your other tasks secondary until you have submitted a proper proposal for your own projects."

And that seemed to be the end of that ordeal. "Sam, Gale, I'll see you outside my office in fifteen minutes."

There was also that.

OOC

Everyone else is free to go, their major assignment is to investigate on this "O" happenstance, they can do this by asking others/ other rpers for more information on this situation or looking around /etc etc
- Any Hunters wanting further instructions/ proposals/ etc can also stay behind along with Sam and a midget

Why was he not surprised to find Caelius on the other end of that door? Maybe because somewhere in the back of his mind, Gale had assumed that the Death Division Lead was something like a cockroach - just when you thought you had gotten rid of it it came right back.

And now it wanted to see him.

Gale sighed.

With a sideways glance at Taym, Solia, and then finally Sam, Gale resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the latter and stepped a few paces forward, eyeing the body with a sense of exasperation mixed with frustration and bemusement. He glanced for a moment at the now smashed and discarded camera, and then, with a slight groan of resignment, made his way out the door and over towards the Death Lead's office without bothering to wait for Sam.

Less than five minutes later, he was there, lifting a hand to knock at the door.

Taym watched all that unfold with a distinct lack of expression that said more than any making of faces could have. Carefully stoic, he received the group lecture without a flicker of an eyelid, and maintained the same when Gale gave him a parting glance.

This was all distinctly unfair, to Taym. No one had exactly sat any of the new trainees down and debriefed them on the situation with the Island--that was part of the itch that had led him to want to make DIANA into a reality--and he felt this as a particular slight given that was in a division that was, nominally at least, devoted to intelligence-gathering. The lack of order and the constant demands for self-propelled learning in an environment that denied them resources was distressing. But then again, Taym never exactly expected anything to be fair--he'd spent a lifetime convincing himself all his troubles were the result of cosmic unfairness rather than his own shortcomings.

When Gale left, Taym abruptly went back over to where he'd been sitting before things got interesting, gathered up the binder and the proposal he'd clipped to it, and, after a second's thought, yanked out a few of the pages and stuffed them into his coat for safekeeping. The rest he bundled up and deposited unceremoniously on the front desk, giving Sam a nasty, meaningless look on his way out the door, for no other reason than that she was there, and why not.

Sam, on the way out, made sure that Taym went first and then after the trainee had exited, carefully pushed his binder off the desk, kicking it under said desk before continuing forward. She trailed in last, following the opened door to where the Death lead was waiting for the two, in the promised land. His spirit animal could only be compared to cockroaches that were claimed to have existed since the early Cretaceous period, noted for this extended duration of existing as a Death lead and for his inability to die despite being crushed, trampled, potentially gutted, burnt, thrown into vortexes with horsemen, and somehow coming making it out unscathed in a certain time period that might have involved the numbers two-thousand minus one. A very beautiful cockroach, of course. With perfect hair.

He spend a few moments looking around his room, just meticulously observing each wall before he took his usual throne at his desk as if behind them, there wasn't about a measly half an inch of wall that was separating them from the classroom of absolute despair. There, both Sam and Gale would wait as he wrote a few things down involving the Termination Records and the moved on to another manila folder, carefully placed in a drawer. Circe took her place as a totem paperweight on the table, eye-ing (pun intended) Gale especially.

"Fortunately," he began, all sarcasm, "You have the requirements to investigate further this Ourboros situation." The folder tag wrote Ourobros - O in neat print. "I want both of you to find the next opening and join their operation. This will give us more accurate information as to their structure and intentions, and will also let me observe your behaviour." Wow, that Caelius, he was just a bundle of joy. "I will expect a report from each of you on your proposal in dealing with this situation. A folder will be given to each of you debriefing who and what we are dealing with pertinent to your mission." He paused. "I'm sure you do not need me to tell you how."

He waited, for what seemed like eons, until Caelius actually spoke. Gale's eyes flickered towards Circe, the little blue golem, and he gave it a suspicious sort of stare, eyeing (pun intended) her right back. Inside of his head, Jinhai made a soft sound of amusement, though he said nothing.

Ourboros. It was a vaguely familiar name, and Gale's gaze followed the folder in Caelius's hand with a wary expression on his face. He wasn't so sure how he felt about being stuck with Sam in this endeavor, but at the very least it was something to do other than sit and twiddle his thumbs and stare bleakly at his somewhat dilapidated house.

Plus he was curious about this whole business anyway. His hand brushed over the inside of his wrist where the branded O still covered his skin, hard and black against the paleness. He hadn't told Stormy about the whole ordeal yet, mostly because he hadn't wanted her to worry, but this was diving right back in.

Out of the frying pan, into the fire. Gale gave a small nod.

"Yes, sir," he said. "I look forward to it."

Which wasn't entirely true, but he did look forward to actually doing something. "When do we start?"

Caelius gave Gale a sharp glare at that question-

- "What my mission partner means," Sam suddenly filled in, "is when do we start the external mission stuff. With portals being busted and all, the time for frequent missions like these ones is few and far between."

The Death lead hesitated and finally pulled out his drawer what looked like the same model of Reverse Pendant that the R&D were handing out, only with a different rune engraved on it. "You will share this between the two of you, as this is a group effort. Each of you will keep tabs on the other." He opened the folder, page still facing them. It was a fairly blank page, with just a photos of a few choice bodies with the infamous tattoo stamped on various limbs. "Information is limited but not due to what they think is being clever. There are simply more important things for me to address, which is why I have no problems assigning this to you." Caelius, the optimist. "The name Ourboros is purely fanatical, a group of obsessed Hunters who thought they could outrun the system. Their patterns and methods mimic our division. They have various points at former Hunter posts that they have converted into their own outposts. Each one is marked with this sigil." He pointed to the photograph, the bare outlines of an O embossed in a meta engraving. "For them, it is a rendezvous point. It traces your weapon. Even if weapons are sealed or taken away, they can not be broken without the Hunter dying. They signal to each other with two conditions. One, the weapon. The second, your exclusive tattoo. Again, messy, disorganized. Though I'm sure that is nothing new considering the current state of things here." He sneered a bit, but continued. "Find locations. If possible, try to ask questions. The rest is at your discretion, but I recommend you to use your ******** heads. The defect Hunters I could care less about, they will be taken care of sooner or later, when I have more time. I want to know who is funding them, I want to know who is giving them our supplies."

A pause as he closed the drawer and then gave the two his undivided attention once again. "This information is confidential, so if you so much as whisper it to any other person outside of this office, whatever scare tactics you think O employs will be nothing compared to what I will do to anyone you leak this ******** confidential information to on or off this island. I hope I make myself very clear."

Sam turned slightly, so only Gale could see she was rolling her eyes a bit. "Yes sir." She finally said, very evenly, picking up her file. "I'll get more stuff ready once my buddy and I have found a way to work together." She smiled at Gale, but it wasn't exactly pleasant.

O Hotspots:

Whenever Gale goes on a mission, he can look around for hotspots (externally, you can just go ahead and use the pendant to organize EM's as this is his specialization!) The hotspots are always at urban locations. Whenever you do an rp, roll 1d10. You can only do this once. If you roll a 10 you have found a secret location! Quote Zoobey whenever this is effective
