Audra waited until Dakini had fallen into a deep sleep before she disintangled herself from the female and made her way out of the grove, heading back home. For being blind, she was being fairly graceful, and knew innately which way was north, south, east and west. She had covered atleast a league before Daki could have awakened.

Dakini stirred, finally drawing out of her exhausted sleep to notice the lack of warmth beside her. Her eyes snapped open and she tripped in her frantic attempt to get to her feet. Audra was missing. How long as she been gone?! She scrambled through the forest, tripping countless times as she tried to follow Audra's trail. This had to be a dream, right? It had to be. Audra wasn't really gone. She wouldn't have left her... left her... alone.
Alone.
A feeling of pure terror gripped her heart. She couldn't be alone. She'd never been alone like this before...

After two leagues, Audra began stumbling. She was tired, and ached, and harsh salty liquid was pouring from her eyes. Finally, she stumbled hard, unable to catch her balance she fell onto her front knees, unable to get back up from pain, she fell to her side, tucking her head into her side, careful not to plow herself with her horn, and began to sob. Why did leaving Daki like this hurt so much?

Dakini finally stumbled upon the mare she was desperately looking for, collapsing by her side and bursting into tears as she tried to wipe away Audra's own. One wing draped over the other mare, the claws of both hooking together like the clasp of a cloak in front of her. She couldn't speak; her relief was only expressed in her relentless sobbing.
