Well Jace was out of options and he pretty well knew it. There was just one more thing he could do to try and save his dignity before he would simply give in to the lullaby. He certainly didn't want to be conscious for what was about to happen. "Well I don't suppose I've caught you in a generous mood, willing to hash out some sort of deal have I?"Jace hoped against hope that there was some sort of odd job that needed done that might save him from what was about to happen.

Jack Ridgevale Rank: Trainee Energy:325/350 Strength/Speed: 6/5 Active Machines: Roacher Jack turned suddenly as a lion quite bigger than the ones he heard of roared at him. "This place keeps getting stranger and stranger." Although he started doubting his sanity, he still launch a rather fast ball of fire at the lion, which would probably set the whole thing ablaze if it hit. Thankfully the Roacher also ran in front of him right after he used the skill, since it could probably handle a hit better than its master. [Skills used: Flame launch]

One lone finger pressed to Jace's lips, silencing him as the other male moved to lay down next to him. A wicked smirk sliding across his face as his grazed such fair and perfected flesh. He was almost tempted to latch on, to partake in sweet nectar and Jace would certainly like it also, it was a hard thing to elude the spell of seduction and lust. However, Marcus was not going to play with this new, weak toy. He himself preferred seducing woman and only occasionally did a male suit him. Though this was unbeknownst to Jace.
As the human's eyes began to weigh heavily on his sight, Marcus spoke, his tone soft and kind. "The 'girl' you spoke of...I'm assuming you mean the one in the box outside my tent?" Gorgeous features remained locked, staring the human down. "She has killed every human she has come in contact with. The devious thing took a half dozen lives at the last location...I'm sorry but whatever knightly thing you imagined would have only ended with your life lost." Marcus stood, removing himself from the young man. "My sister is a harlot and deserves her punishment. I don't care whether she is happy or not when the safety of this business is a priority. Now sleep before I take you as a partner and taint that virgin body of yours." It was tempting but Marcus was no villain, despite what was known of his kind. "You should pick your battles wisely young man, the next could be your last." With that the incubus moved back to his piano and continued to play the very same song, after all, it was his favorite.

Vincent scowled, the cheap trick of flame did nothing to the lion but it did serve to agitate the creator. Playfully the lion leaped, the crowd around them applauding dumbfoundedly, they all thought the fire was for show and the animal even more so. However, he knew otherwise, it was an attack, an uncalled for one at that but he steeled his nerves and moved around, long strides bringing him full circle with the mechanist. He flashed a bright smile, the lion rolling and rising to its hind legs and pawing the empty air for a treat. Vince's eyes on the other, they spoke volumes to the human. They threatened and chastised the quick action and then removed, wandering down to the small bot that he could easily squish like the pest it was. It would serve as a great reminder but retaliation would be futile and deemed unnecessary. He was most likely scared and out of instinct, struck as an opportunist. "He is harmless...it is for show, Mate." The lion tumbled forward, and the people cheered, some whistling for more.
Animalia Rank: C Requires: Adept Rank Description: For a moment of 10 posts you create a giant version of an animal of your choosing. This is made out of your energy and controlled by your will. Use your imagination for this one. It can be destroyed by an impact that would measure up to a B rank attack.
Jace had little reaction to what the Incubus said to him, at least on the outside. He was far too sleepy and for the most part out of his wits. However he had enough time to realize that it was a very lucky thing that the man was stronger than he was, otherwise he more than likely would have been another of his sisters victims. Jace had been saved from being preyed upon yet again this time by a total stranger. He'd have been upset with himself, if only he'd had the energy... As all of his senses faded, his last thought was that this man who had bested him so easily was of such good character, he'd even gently set Jace on a bed before he may have passed out on the floor or even standing up. And then Jace quietly slipped into his dreams.

When Jace started to awake from his slumber, he would notice the looming darkness that encompassed him. It was silent and only the sound of own breath could be heard. As he rose, sitting up and removing the stupor of sleep, he was completely alone. Marcus was no where in sight, his piano covered and the bed empty. Only a single parting gift lay beside Jace. It was a medium size box and tied with a bright red ribbon. The card said, Do not open until 3 days have passed.
It was up to Jace to take it or not, who knows what lay inside but he chose to open it early.....really, again, who knew what would occur. Once he left the confines of the tent, he would see the female again. This time her doe-eyed stare was one of surprise, a devious smile pulling up her cheeks and she pressed herself against the glass, hands trailing south to allure him.
Jack Ridgevale Rank: Trainee Energy:335/350 Strength/Speed: 6/5 Active Machines: Roacher At finally seeing the incubus, Jack finally understood that it mostly a show, with him being the center player. Although he was a little annoyed, he still felt a bit thankful for the new information. As he had the Roacher do some flips, much to its chagrin, Jack said, "I'll have to thank you for warning me before I actually ruined your show. Here in Nocturne, I'm usually considered a meal anyways."

Vincent heard him but didn't say anything...yet. His arms thrust upward and the audience applauded, his bows inspiring more so. The lion would disappear just as the field of grass. When he stood and the crowd began to disperse, he turned back to the human, still wearing a smile."It's no problem-o. I'm Vincent,"He held out a hand, it was up to Jack whether or not to except the shake. If not, Vince would shrug and place it back into his pockets. "Well....personally I'm a vegetarian so I wouldn't know." His grin grew but it would fade quickly, his eyes darting to the left before coming back to the human. "I shouldn't say this...but....you have every suspicion to watch out..especially here.." He looked away, waved and returned to Jack. "Beware the elves..the little midget ******** are like walking time bombs..and the big man. Just watch yourself, Mate." Vince nodded and stepped away from him, he already said too much and besides, another show was about to begin.
Jack Ridgevale Rank: Trainee Energy:345/350 Strength/Speed: 6/5 Active Machines: Roacher As the show ended, the incubus had been more forgiving than he had thought he would be and had held out a hand to him. Seeing as this man seemed to be friendly enough, Jack shook his hand and had listened to his advice. "If there was anything I have learned, it's too always watch myself." With that, Jack decided that he should probably head back to train, if only for a moment. [exit]

Lights, excitement, the carnival was bustling with un-life as Nocturne's citizens flocked to the celebration. Among these many creatures, a white-haired young man in red shades strolled casually through the area. He walked straight ahead, barely tilting his head to glance at the various activities that were happening around him. Even with all of the fun in the air, however, Chase hadn't seen anything yet that posed much interest to him. He kept walking from station to station, silently observing the world around him like the ghost he was.
When Jace woke up, it took him a moment to remember where he was, he looked around for his host, to apologize and thank him. But he was nowhere in sight. The only thing really worthy of note was the box that lay beside him. Jace read the card and though he was incredibly curious and was tempted to open it, he remembered what had happened last night and what COULD have happened. He decided it would be best to follow the instructions and respect his former hosts wishes. He took the box and left, the events that took place weighing heavily on him and causing him to move slowly.
Jace left the tent and his eyes fell once again on the woman. He had mixed feelings now, sad to see a creature so unhappy, but glad that she couldn't cause damage. And then Jace noticed the hands going down and some of the sadness left. Still trying to get her hands on prey... Although the temptation was there for Jace to follow the hands with his eyes. he decided he was far more interested in her face, her eyes, not a single feature would betray her intentions. "Such a shame that such beauty belongs to a monster who would only share it with another but once before closing their eyes forever," he was half speaking to the girl and half to himself.

The once silver slivers turned to a heated red, tangent tresses flushed to a crimson and her features hardened. She didn't care what he had to say, or that he was saying anything idly at all. Tendrils parting legs and pulled back the tulle, maybe her efforts were in vain but she never took the high road.
Eventually he'd move on or leave, realizing all that he tried to accomplish was fruitless. The succubus grew tired of him and turned away, trying to entrap someone else that didn't already know the lies behind a serene charade.

As Chase wandered around, lost in both thought and time, drifting effortlessly as accordion colors washed him in blue, red, yellow, and green. Each one lingering and then giving way to the next. There were plenty of distractions but none seemed to carter to the man, not the tents or dancers, the food or games. Nothing. Perhaps he was searching for something different? Something less....mundane. After all, he had spent his life in the fast lane, a jet-set attitude and a sleek style to match. Eventually though, he had seen it all but just when he reached the end between two tents a glimpse of something shiny, hi-tech gloss glinting against the lanterns lighting.
"Yeah! I'm telling you guys.." It was a female voice, though the male questioning her couldn't be heard. "No, no. I swear I heard him say they had elves! Something about.." She was standing there, hands on her leather covered hip bones, blonde hair spiked with intertwining red splices. "...Well you have to kill one. Don't give me that look, Joe. I know what I heard." She turned, looking at the approaching male as the rest silenced themselves. Her arms folded over a slick corset, it almost looked wet from the polyurethane coating. "Are you here about the elves too?" It was unlikely that he knew since the carnival had just started but he looked cool enough to ask. All the others, mostly males, stared at Chase, some angry and others intrigued, Sam on the other hand, was pleased. "Or are you one of those bums of Nocturne? You don't do anything but chase skirts, right?" She bent down, some of the eyes behind her trailed in the same direction, but she scooped up a black motorcycle helmet and cocked it against her contouring hip. A devious smile flashing at him."I bet you get all the ladies with that get up...it is too bad really." Sam turned away again, heading towards her own mechanical allure. It was completely black, the twin pipes even..and only a thin cherry red line ran from the handlebars, down the gas tank, and behind the seat to the tail light. "You are kinda cute." A small laugh slipped from painted lips and then she put the helmet on.
Jace simply left the girl to her own devices, with a half cocked smile and shaking his head he started off. He was going back to the barracks, Jace hadn't been there much but it seemed to be the only safe place to keep the box underneath his arm.

Feared Exalted Evil?
A bright flash of crimson lightning arced downwards from the sky, slamming into he ground and causing a bright flash of light. A raven haired demon had materialized in the spot where the lightning struck, landing in a light crouch before he stood up, brushing down his coat as he did so. The demon's red nimbuses gazed around the carnival at the denizens of nocturne, a small and familiar arrogant smile spread across his his face as he recognized a few people from the military personell. He had helped train a few of them, and the others he had simply seen around the fort. The demon walked from place to place with his usual brisk stride, attempting to find something that peaked his interest. Eventually he found a large display of acrobatics out in the open, so he would content himself with watching this for a while. I bet I can do that... He thought to himself idly, watching the multiple flips and spins in the air. His flips weren't as refined, but with some practice he had no doubt he could do it. Eventually though, the tricks would get redundant and stale. The demon sighed and walked away, forgoing the acrobatic display and looking around for a more entertaining attraction.
