Ears perking as the male fought against going inside, Sakina huffed and nudged his ribs as he caught himself from falling over again. "Ah, git over yerself. I been livin' here since birth. I ain't never got sick before. It's just yer attitude got ya wobbly." She tried to direct him to the door again.

"Now, I got a bed and a fire you can use. While you're restin', I can go fetch herbs an' that tea ya love so much. You'll never make it ta your own house, lessin it's only two seconds away. Get it? Pass out here, I'll watch out fer ya. Pass out in them woods, you're free game fer the wolves. What's it gonna be?"

“Cause you aren’t normal.” He retorted weakly. She was like some beast or spirit of the forest. Something so unusual that it would take a lot to even dare make her sick. That he could easily believe. “This place is a death trap.” He protested trying to dig his hooves back into the ground before sliding forward.

“Dam…” He coughed weakly before staggering forward with her, “I’ll sleep…then I’m going home. You’d rather…kill me than take care of me.” Falling inside he leaned against the wall ready to pass out there. “After this…I’m going home.” He muttured, “Stupid fever even making you look really pretty…” Seriously, was she glowing or something? Like a freakin’ fairy. His head ached so much that he just sighed and let it sink against the wall.

"Is only a death trap to buggers like you who don't give it any respect fer standin' fer so many years." Finally getting him inside, Sakina groaned as he tried to fall again. She outright dropped him though as he spoke. She looked pretty? "Ah. Tha' fever given your thick head some clarity!" She didn't care what he thought! Of course not!

Grunting, she pulled him up enough to be able to drag him to the pile of furs. "There. Now lie yerself down 'ere an' rest up. You'll be back on yer legs and whinin' in no time." She pulled a couple furs over him to protect him from the damp, but his temperature... Biting her lip, not out of concern for the male mind you!, she went to get one of her clean shirts, since she didn't have any clean rags, and dipped it into the cool water bucket she had outside. "Disrespect me all ways of north, and now I gotta care fer yer sorry butt," she grumped, gently patting his face with the cool water. She didn't like how this felt... taking care of someone... feeling good about it...

Leaving the cloth on his forehead, she went to start the fireplace up and hopefully remove a little of the dampness from the shack. Make something hot to eat, maybe?

“Everything has to die eventually.” Kallan managed to reply at her comment about her home. Lying down on the furs the cervitaur found himself shivering with fever as it took over his body. This was not good. The last thing he wanted was to fall here where she could see him. Kallan’s head pounded though and he found himself zoning out even when she was speaking to him. Only a soothing touch of something cool got his attention enough for her comment to slightly sink in.

“It’s not sorry butt.” He muttered quietly as his eyes flickered open to watch her, “It’s Kallan.” Eyes closing he found himself passing out and breathing raggedly as he gave into a fever sleep. Hopefully when he woke it would break so that he could fight against the stubborn female. No matter how much she glowed in his vision that was only cause he was sickly. Nothing more. Maybe she even poisoned him and that was why he was sick. The thoughts ran through his sleep as he moaned softly into the furs.

Her ears perked as she looked down at the male. Kallan? ....Kallan. "Yeah, yeah." Sakina pushed up to check the tiny fireplace, frowning at the weak flame. She needed more wood. Peeking back at Kallan, she went about building up the fire, patted his face with more cool water, and scrounged around for food to make.

She... had no idea what she was doing. It was only distant memories of her mother caring for her brother when he'd once been sick. She went out to her garden, plucking out the last of the small potatoes that she had. He would need something easy to eat, right?

The rest of the day was spent checking on Kallan, mashing up the potatoes, and making apple-pear sauce. She also took some time to haphazardly patch over the roof holes. All this effort wasn't for the male's sake though! She just wanted him to get better so she could kick him out of her house! She remembered her mother once telling her that the body lost salt through its sweat... So, she added salt to the potatoes. Kallan was sweating a lot... So, she added salt to a big cup of water as well. Taking the bowls and mug over to the bedside, she sat and watched the male sleeping.

There was a reason he hated getting sick. All day Kallan tossed and turned in a fevered sleep as memories became nightmares for the buck. Mutterings of protests and faint movements as if reaching out to grab someone haunted him as he turned. At one point his body recognized the movement of someone next to him so Kallan reached out to grab her arm, “Don’t do it…” He panted heavily, as a flush rose on his cheeks with the fever, “Please don’t go there…you’ll die again.” His grip tightened for a brief moment before he passed under again and rolled away from her.

When he did wake up though Kallan had to rub his head. What a headache. Wincing the male looked around in a foggy daze before remembering where he was at. Oh by the spirits…she hadn’t killed him yet? “Did…you actually make food?” He asked quietly before reaching out for the water. Immediately though the cervitaur spat with a twisted expression of surprise on his face, “Did you get this from the ocean?” Sticking his tongue out repeatedly Kallan just shook his head before forcing himself to swallow. Now he really was afraid to touch the food. Gaze sweeping up towards the female he scooted back just a bit. Maybe she was intending on tormenting him to death…by salt?

Sakina couldn't help herself. She sat close to Kallan, holding his hand through his fevered nightmares, and nearly jumped out of her fur as he suddenly grabbed her. Die again... did taur die more than once? Just in his dreams, probably.

As the fever calmed, she made sure the food and water were by him as she stretched her legs. After all, she didn't want him to see her keeping vigil over him. He might appreciate it and become clingy!

Her ears perked at the weak voice, and turned to grin at him. He was awake! ...yeah. Whatever. That was cool... "Yes, I made food. Yer not getting nowhere on an empty stomach after that fever nonsense." Her lips pursed into a pout as salt water got spat out. "I made it for ya myself, ya ingrate. Ya need ta get more salt inside. My mama told me that ya lose salt when ya sweat, an' you been sweatin' like you're wearin' a fur coat in the middle o' summer! You ain't gonna ever leave if ya don't get the salt back." She saw how he looked at the food and scowled. "Salt on the taters, but not the sauce. Eat whatchya want, long as it gets ya outta here." Still... she stood by the fireplace, pretending to be poking at the wood while her eyes slid over to peek at Kallan. Would he... like the food?

Despite his roaring ears and the fever which still lingered on his skin the cervitaur laughed, “Oh?” Kallan wiped away a stray tear from his eye, “Are you actually seemin’ to care about me?” He questioned as the absurdness of the situation amused him in his slightly off state. To think yesterday she was trying to stab a knife through him! Though the salt thing, that might be her true reasoning for the sudden ‘care’. He frowned as he poked at the plate. Was it really safe to try it?

“I swear…if this makes me worse and I die I hope my spirit forever haunts you.” He frowned at the thought, “Maybe not…that might just be worse on me.” Still the cervitaur began to slowly eat the potatoes. Even though his nose wrinkled at the salty taste if he mixed the pieces with the sauce then he could swallow easier. Until he forgot about the water and took another drink which made his face crinkle up even more. “You-“ He paused and forced a swallow, “Can’t it be safe just to have plain water?” He set the cup down and brushed stray hair from his face, “I think I’ve had enough salt in that to keep me going for years. Since I could eat those ‘taters’ of yours.” Typical Kallan. He was still too stubborn to say thanks to the female after all she had done for him. He was thankful, but picking at her was his way of thanks.

Sakina flinched, and scowled again. "I told ya! Get better and git outta my house! Yeesh!" She pressed her lips and focused more on the fireplace. Of all the nervy men she'd ever met!

She snorted and shoot her head. "Ah. So it's you wantin' ta spend eternity with me. I see." Peeking over at him again, she was pleased to see him eating. ... Even if he was mixing the potatoes and sauce... Eww. "Drink up that cup first, then I'll get ya the plain water." She was going to stand firm with her salt theory. After all, the male had sweated so much! ...Her bed was probably soaked. They would need a thorough cleaning. Her nose wrinkled, and she shook the disgusting thought out of her head.

“Oh don’t worry, I’m tryin’!” At the exclamation Kallan suddenly ended up with another coughing fit. Stubbornly he buried his face in his shoulder and waited the coughing out while trying to make them as quiet as possible though his body still shook. Arguing with her was only making him feel worse. It was probably cause of all the stupidity making his body tenser than it should be. He nearly muttered another string of insults before biting the inside of his cheek and just looking away from the female.

Kallan shook his head at her comment, “I’d have to be insane to even think of that as a wonderful idea. I’m not some sort of masochist.” And now she really was expecting him to drink that whole cup full of ocean water? The cervitaur nearly pouted. There was a reason he preferred staying inside of the woods with the crystal streams rather than by that mess of a water, “Alright fine.” He raised the cup to his lips though while chugging the horrid drink the cervitaur managed to swallow with a wince. Disgusting, vile, ugh! “Dammit that’s harsh.” His eyes squinted up as he kept moving his tongue around in his mouth to get the taste out. And there went another spoonful of the sauce. Wiping the bottom of his chin the cervitaur flicked what was left of the watery torture from his face.

"Well, yer the one talkin' about hauntin' me forever. That be soundin' like wantin' ta stay." Sakina smirked, and then winced slightly. That cough sounded bad... Well, he was a male. A stubborn one. He could deal with it! ...Still, she went to take his cup and put some fresh water into it. "'ere ya go, as promised. Plain ol' water, Mister Not-a-masahkissed." Whatever the hell a masahkissed was... Some kind of strange kissing specialist? Weird.

Kallan just glared towards the female cervitaur, “You seem fond of pushin’ that idea yourself.” He muttered quietly before looking away. Stupid place, stupid female. All he wanted to do was to get up and walk out of that door, which he was planning to do as soon as everything settled down. He rubbed the back of his neck in aggravation. Surely he would be able to make a walk…it just took going through a more open way than his usual shortcut. The cervitaur frowned before being startled by her statement.

What? “Masahkissed?” He repeated with an eyebrow quirked towards her. The word kissed lingered in the sentence and he only shook his head before reaching for the cup and taking a drink from it, “Don’t be that desperate to get sick if you’re still thinking of things like that. Even if I could get revenge on ya that way I’m not doin’ it again.”Already he had nearly forgotten the way he had tried getting her to be quiet earlier. The thought, or perhaps it was fever, made him flush so before she could see he rolled over and faced the wall. Sighing he ended up just closing his eyes. Maybe one more nap and then he could manage to move about on his own.

Sakina cocked her head in confusion. "What? I ain't lettin' ya git me sick. Got too much doin' ta sit around like you. Whatchya wantin' revenge fer anyway. I'm spendin' my time tryin' ta help ya git better!" She snorted and pushed up to head away from Kallan. Must be the fever talking! Watching him turn, she huffed and picked up a hunting knife. "I'mma go see if them traps caught anythin' fer another meal. Git more sleep."

The cervitaur just shook his head at her. What a female. “Never mind then ya goof.” He muttered before falling asleep again. Still even as the fever lessened his hold on him the nightmares still lingered. Names were silent on his lips, but the tragedies were fresh in his mind as his body tossed in protest. It wasn’t until a bit later that he finally came back around and blinking his eyes painfully started to find he was steadier than before.

Thank the spirits. Kallan rubbed his eyes. That meant that maybe, just maybe he could make the trek back towards his place. Stupid old shack getting’ him sick…he made a face at the ceiling before rolling back over and trying to force himself more awake. Come on now. I can shake this off surely.

Sakina stalked through the woods, checking her traps and keeping an eye out for anything special to forage. She was quite pleased to find she'd caught a couple rabbits. They would be good for dinner. How much did males eat? She pursed her lips. A third would be better... She'd heard guys ate a lot. Her brother certainly had, as far as she remembered.

When she got back, she dug through her garden to find a few skimpy potatoes, skinny carrots, and one good tomato. ...Well, better than nothing. She carried it all inside, and grinned. "Ah! Up an' about finally?" She dropped the rabbits on a leather mat in the far corner, and the vegetables were set onto the table. "Got some good ol' rabbit stew comin' ta fill ya up and git ha on yer way." It was unfortunate that she was a little disappointed by the idea that the stubborn mule might be leaving soon... It wasn't like she needed him around.
