"Pretty much dry, I think." Tuck didn't bother checking, everything felt dry enough that he'd feel comfortable putting his pants on without worrying about wet spots.
"She's always done what she wanted," Tuck said in regards to his twin sister, his voice tinted with pride, "Never was one to give a s**t about what anyone thought about her. Evan seemed to like that damn orange abomination well enough," the memory made him shake his head.
When Heidi snuggled up close to him, Tuck let out a content rumble and wrapped his arms around her middle. He felt silent, but it didn't feel awkward. It felt companionable, comfortable.
"You smell good."

"Well that's good, more people should be like that~." Heidi listened very closely to that tone in his voice. "You love your sister a lot." She knew that feeling, she was a little sister herself. Though she never had a twin, her brother was like seven years older than her. Heidi didn't seem to care that they were snuggling under a tree in the woods barely dressed. She was happy and comfortable. She had never been this happy and comfortable before. She moved to tuck her head under his chin, closing her eyes and reaching for one of Tuck's hands. She was actually in that state between awake and almost asleep when he spoke up again. Sighing contently, Heidi opening one eye to look up at Tuck with a little smile. "You too." Heidi mumbled, stretching and nuzzling her face against Tuck's chest. He did smell nice, she never really paid attention to it before.

"I do. When I first woke up here -- well, on the island -- I sure as hell wasn't expecting her to be there. At the beginning I was mad as all hell, but.. I consider myself lucky now." Tuck laced his fingers through Heidi's and lifted her hand to his lips. He wasn't going to doze here, not out in the open and with Heidi there nearly naked. Though the probability that someone else was going to stroll past them, Tuck wasn't going to take that chance. "You gonna take a nap, sweetheart?"

Heidi shrugged at his question. "Not on purpose~." She sat up a little straighter, looking up at Tuck with a sleepy smile. "So your favorite color is green, your birthday is July twenty-eighth, you'll apparently eat anything put in front of you...favorite movie?" Talking would keep her awake. Her gaze fell to his chest and she freed the hand Tuck had been holding to touch it, idly tracing the lines and contours of his muscles with the tip of one finger. She never went further than his belly button, always backtracking up to his collar again whenever she came too close to it. "Do you have a favorite food? Like, if you were stuck on a deserted island and could only have one meal, what would it be."

Tuck bent to kiss Heidi's forehead. He felt like he couldn't get enough of touching her, kissing her, no matter how chaste it was.
"I like action movies, like Star Trek - the new one - and them Batman movies that Nolan did. It's hard to pick one particular favorite, though."
The muscles of his chest jumped involuntarily when Heidi began to trace her fingers along his skin, and Tuck let out a low laugh.
"That's a tough one. I love all foods equally," he grinned, "but if I had to pick I'd have to say.. probably pizza. Or burgers. Steak. Baked potato with bacon and cheese and sour cream, or.. well. You get the idea."
Tuck was quiet for a moment.
"What did you want to be when you was growin' up?"

"I like the Iron Man and Avenger movies, I never did get into Batman. And you know my uh..sci-fi movie experience." They wouldn't speak of it. Last time they did Tuck had disapproved so hard. So hard. "Comedies are more my thing though." And romantic movies.
It was a guilty pleasure.
"Pizza's a good choice. It'll feed you for days." Heidi's eyes followed her own hand, moving down Tuck's arm now until she reached his hand and could lace her fingers between his again. "I really like anything with lobster in it, my dad was a fisherman sooooo..weeeee didn't usually have to really pay for lobster since he knew how to catch it himself." Score. Lobster was expensive, dude.
Heidi lifted their hands to kiss Tuck's knuckles, holding his hand against her lips and curling up against Tuck. "An actress. Or just a singer." Heidi answered with a tiny smile. "I liked doing theatre in high school, and I've been singing in choir since elementary school. I mean, my career dreams changed like every five minutes as a kid. At one point I wanted to be a soccer playing marine biologist, but theatre made he the happiest."

Tuck laughed. "Those're both good. We won't talk about the sci-fi movie... experience." He cleared his throat and gave her a look. "I like some comedies, too."
He lifted his brows at the talk of lobster. "I don't like seafood, really - an' I hate fish. Hate it. Really hate it." His expression turned into one of slight disgust - but then he grinned. "Never woulda taken you for a lobster sorta girl."
Tuck started fussing with her braid, running his fingers along the thin tendrils that came together to form it.
"An actress, that don't surprise me. You can sing?"
He looked pretty goddamn intrigued by that.

Oh look, something they didn't agree on. Seafood is awesome, Tuck. Heidi grinned up at Tuck as he complained about fish and seafood. "I love seafood. New England does it the best, especially the states that're actually along the water. Wickford, the town I grew up in, is a harbor town. It's along the water so we get most of our seafood fresh. Plus, y'know, the dad thing." She shrugged. "You don't like fish? Maybe you just haven't had it properly, I don't imagine Idaho gets proper seafood." She was teasing..mostly. "Would you try it if I found you really good food? Like...would you try clam chowder? Or a lobster roll?" If he said no she wouldn't push it.
But come on, Tuck.
She shivered pleasantly as he touched her hair, moving Tuck's arm so it was draped around her hips and releasing his hand to just relax against him and enjoy his touches. "Mhm! I started doing it in fifth grade because we had the option of an instrument or singing, annnnnd I apparently lack the coordination to use my fingers to control notes on an instrument properly. I can tap a couple notes on a piano but only enough to play the notes I need to sing, y'know? Instruments are freakin' crazy. Soooo I decided to try singing, and it just continued on from there." Heidi turned so her back was against Tuck's front, tilting her head back to rest it against his shoulder.
"You played football, right? What got you into that?"

Tuck's mouth formed a line, and he gave Heidi a dubious look.
"Well, I mean. I ain't gonna say no. Mostly it's the way it smells. I don't like how it smells." He grinned then, "I'd eat anything you gave me."
<Heh.>
Dude.
"I'd love to hear you sing someday, if you wanted." He traced the waistband of her boyshorts with his index finger, a mindless gesture that he didn't really realize he was doing. Lowering his head, Tuck pressed his jaw against her temple.
"I was just real good at it. I liked the competition, how it made me feel after winning a real good game." He half-shrugged. "In high school I liked the popularity that came with it, I guess. Made my pops proud, too, an' my ma, so I guess I stuck with it as long as I could for them."

"I'll find something that isn't unpleasant to your nose..oh! What about clam cakes? Those don't smell like seafood at all!" It was a good beginner's food. Fried dough with little bits of clam in it. Done. "Then I'll give you everything," Heidi announced when he said he'd eat anything. It was a challenge now. She didn't want to make him unhappy but come on.
Lobster was so good.
Heidi was somewhat thankful for the faint color already on her face from the sun, it hid her blush well as Tuck said he wanted to hear her sing. "Sure, I'll find something to sing for you."
And then she forgot how to breathe.
She felt Tuck's finger a bit further south than she had ever been touched before. Her cheeks felt hot and it was not because of the sun. She swallowed and then cleared her throat, fidgeting. That felt..um..
...Really weird. A good weird. A really good weird.
"O-oh?" Football. Sports. Talking. "I can see you being good at it. And popular." She giggled, the sound a bit higher pitched. She cleared her throat again and gently reached for the hand that was touching her to hold it. "I used to play it with my friends, but only as like..y'know...a back yard activity kind of thing."

"Once we start travelin', I'm gonna eat from everywhere around the world. Everything. You ever hear of the crazy s**t they eat in the Philippines? I ain't gonna eat that. But like. India. London. The south. I want to eat all that local food. Can you imagine? I wanna try curry so hot it makes your eyes burn an' your nose run, an' I wanna try all that weird English food, just to say that I have."
<Theodore could make Heidi sing.>
Tuck cleared his throat and ignored Herryk, which in turn caused the weapon to give off the distinct impression that he was feeling pretty ******** smug.
He didn't even notice that her cheeks had gone pink, or that her voice had lifted. He did notice that she'd placed her hand over his, and he wasn't sure if she was comfortable with the touch or not.
"My mom always thought it was boring, but she would come watch me play and hold barbecues for the team in high school. Everyone loved my mom."
He cleared his throat again and flexed the hand that hers rested upon.
"That bother you?"

Heidi really liked that plan. Try the local food in every country she went to. Yes, please. "..You can try that curry with, like, Evan or something. I'm not eating food that hot." No thanks.
Food and football were safe topics of conversation. "Your mom sounds really awesome." Heidi did wish she could meet Tuck's parents, especially with how much he'd told her about them already, but she knew that kind of thing was against the rules now. But she had Tuck, that was the important part. "I liked playing soccer more than football."
Tuck flexed his hand and she blushed again at his question. She was glad her back was to him.
"Yes..er..no..? Kind of.." Heidi pursed her lips. "It's...not bad I..kind of.." liked it. "It's different. I..." Heidi fidgeted again, putting Tuck's hand on her bare stomach instead of touching her underwear. "It doesn't bother me in a bad way, no. It just feels...weird..?" Heidi laughed nervously. This was stupid. She just wasn't sure what to say or do. She kind of liked it, she loved all of Tuck's touches, but was it okay to feel like this so soon? They'd been kissing and sleeping together and being affectionate for a long while but they'd only made things between them official today.
But she really liked Tuck's touches.
"You don't have to stop I..just...uh..j-just keep it above the hips, okay?" There. That seemed fair...right?

It was a good thing he wasn't getting all kinds of riled up. He cleared his throat and tried to think of something to say that didn't come across like he was trying to get her to change her mind - he wasn't. As much as Tuck wanted to, he wasn't going to.
"It's.. this is gonna sound really dumb, but it's natural. An' I'm gonna be honest, I'd like to keep touchin' you, but I don't want to scare you or make you feel uncomfortable. If it feels weird in a good way, that's good. If it feels weird in a bad way, that ain't good."
Tuck pressed a kiss to the back of her head.
"An' besides, we got time."
He knew that wasn't true, but he said it in hopes of soothing her a little. She sounded nervous, was fidgeting like she was nervous, and that bothered Tuck.
"Most of all I don't want you to feel all ashamed, or like there's guidelines to how this all gets done, you know? I mean. You're my girl now. We gotta be honest with one another about this kind of thing. I wanna know what you like and what you don't like, what's too far and what feels right."
Was he talking too much? Felt like it. He kissed her shoulder and chuckled.

It was natural. He was right. It was. But she wasn't used to it. Heidi din't want him to stop touching her, it was the opposite. "Yeah, it does feel good. It's just...not something I'm used to." She cleared her throat. "It does feel good, it's just different."
Yeah. They had time. Lots of time. All the time.
"D-don't stop, I do like it." Heidi looked back at Tuck over her shoulder with a worried expression. He made it sound like he was going to stop if she was uncomfortable. No! Definitely no! She didn't want him to stop.
She wasn't ashamed. A voice in the back of her head was literally reminding her they were in the middle of a park and despite being in a far off area there was that slight chance of being caught, but she wasn't ashamed. Yes, she was his girl. He was her man. Tuck was a man, he knew what he was doing; Heidi was a girl who had no idea what she was doing. She didn't even touch herself.
He kissed her shoulder and she smiled sheepishly. "I don't know what I like. Aside from, like, you touching me and kissing me..so...don't stop. I mean it. Keep doing it, it's just really new.." Her face felt hot. It was...sunburn. Yes. It was sunburn. She had been attacked by the sun while sitting in the shade of the tree. That was totally a thing that happened.
Conversation. She needed conversation to distract her if he was going to touch her. Heidi cleared her throat. "What'd you like to do outside of football? Like, did you have any hobbies or anything?"

Tuck grunted softly and allowed the topic change, though there was a small private smile on his lips. It was starting to drive him a little crazy. He didn't allow his hand to wander, didn't initiate any serious contact. His fingertips only made idle circles across her stomach as he replied to her question.
"I loved bein' outside. Campin', hikin', fishin'. That kinna thing. In college I didn't do much except play an' study. Didn't have time for much else, really. A few parties here an' there, but it was mostly school and football. I loved college life."
