"There's that can-do attitude I was lookin' for," Gnat commented, rewarding him with a wicked grin.
She gazed at the menu for a few moments longer. She had never been good at small talk. How did you politely say, so I know we've seen each other naked, but I've only now realized I don't really know you that well?
"So," she tried, after a while, "I don't think you ever tole me where you was from."

Quinns handshake back was anything but firm. Actually he kind of winced a little as the other mans hand kinda crushed his. Ow. "N-nice to meet you both!" Ian and Dory, hm. They both seemed nice enough really. Ian really had a strong personality, that was for certain. "..Oh your new too? I just came out of the pod actually...like...a few hours ago?" Which was the truth, he was a newbie of newbies. Really once Marcus and Candace prompted Ian, he had noooo problem allowing the other male to answer for him if he wanted. Really, Quinn was no leader. He gladly let someone else shoulder that... instead he stayed quiet.

"I was a pet psychic. Dabbled in human psychic readings, tarot and the like too but that was more taxing than the pets. Pets have a lot to say if you listen to them."
It wasn't a pet. It wasn't a dog.
"And oh I can't really speak for all men. I am done with that romancing, wining and dining. Too much hassle these days." It involved too much investment.

Ofelia was still waiting on her freaking Shirley Temple and was about to ask again when it finally came.
Apparently they felt the need to add like a bazillion cherries to it too which was okay this would be awesome.

"Dakota!" Saya's surprised expression, her arms grasping as Dakota's shoulders to straighten herself as he lifted her around the waist. "Dakota!" She repeated, beaming this time, having not seen the hunter, except briefly in passing earlier, for awhile. "To Charlotte! Allan as well but he looks .. a little.." She took advantage of Dakota's height to peek around for Allan's distinct orange hair.
".. busy." She finished, catching Charlotte's shy wave. She was sure it was only because of Dakota that Charlotte had been able to see her. Finishing up the greeting, she wrapped her arms around Dakota's neck briefly in a loose thank-you hug. She was blushing slightly, probably since this was one of the few times a male had picked her up. The first was Wilson when Saya was crying but.. this was a much happier time, considering she had been crying over the two friends who were sitting at this very table. Very much alive.
"Thank you! You're the best gumdrop hero."
A little height-lift at the right time, apparently got very far with Saya.

Dwight was eating with one hand and playing with his tablet in the other. This is Marvel : OOC Requests Recruiting: AvengersJ.A.R.V.I.S. here! We've still got a lot of gaps in our group after several players had to go on indefinite hiatus! We're currently running a school AU and have a lot of great plans for field trips, a**-kicking adventure, and plenty of opportunity to get 2steamy! If you're interested, just fill out the form below and we'll contact you if you get picked! Looking up from his thread post he caught one of Glenda's leers toward his boss. "Aw yeah, you get it granny." About time H started dating in his own age-range. Looking back down, he decided to tab over to check Twitter and nearly stabbed his eye with a fork in doing so. "Awww...what, it's down?"

"Heh heh, ain't got no time for romancin', me. Here today, gone tommorow an' all that. It was nice once upon a time, I suppose," Glenda replied, and her gaze unfocused for a moment as if fondly remembering. "'Course, I was on th' recievin' of the winin' an' dinin' those days, eh heh."
She lit her own cigar after a moment and took a long draw. "So you onna them, like, dog whisperer types?"

"Good to know." She answered Wilson, resting her elbows upon the table. Very poor manners. "By the way, I managed to do a little bit of digging while I was off on my own, and apparently this ship is fear contaminated. Hence the reason why we're here." She whispered, just audible for Ryan and Wilson. Saya as well, if she was still at the table with them.

People were at least encouraging Glenda and he wondered if he was witnessing some wonderful storybook romance where the jaded rough around the edges woman would finally find her dark and handsome powerful turtlenecked Mr Darcy. It was like something from one of those books he'd picked up thinking they were about...well not what they were actually about, that was for sure.
"It might have been nice to not always have to foot the bill." He hated parting with money. It was just about the most wrenching part of his life. He hadn't cried when his family members had died but he had certainly cried the first time the inland revenue got hold of him. His girlfriends had been treated to expired budget food and charity shop rescues. He was hipster before it was hip.
"Yes and no. Animal behaviourists are all about science." he made a face. Science was not his friend in the least. "What I do is at the essence of the animal. I speak to them, I channel them, I understand their needs at the source."
Science was just about the only thing he'd set the claws he'd gained on given half a chance. It was power in all the wrong hands.

Sam took one look at Solia, gave an extremely wilting smile, and then looked the other way, continuing her one-sided conversation with Charlotte, the Moon Assist practically in tears because she had no clue what she was looking at and was wondering if this was her division assessment for later on.

"Juste une fumée ne tuera pas personne." He quipped a little when he felt his hand get slapped very lightly by the taller hunter, giving him a daring grin, before deciding to give that one a rest - he'd find the time to get his fix later. He had a window in his room, right? And they were on a boat. No one would expect it.
But, man, anything to do with food was a winner in Dorian's books. Listening to Ian as he basically put on a show for whomever was starting to come in around them, he worked with a mixture of the man at his side, and the very soft voice in his head, staring down at the parchment like it was in Latin. English was close enough.
"J'men calice." He lightly slipped in after a few minutes, barely a whisper, but enough to get his frustration out. "Beef." He stated after a moment, nodding in assurance, figuring he had not had such a lovely meal in . . . probably years. Living on your last dime meant that you had to skimp and save for luxuries such as this. "Whatever 'as beef in it, I'm game." He told Ian, and then, nodding, turning to flag down a waitress, trying his damnedest to explain his predicament, turning a shade of red that complimented his teal stripes rather nicely.
After flailing a bit, he finally took a moment to get used to those around him, bright eyes peering over at the people who seemed magnetized by Ian's boisterous attitude.
"I came around a few days ago, I think Ian 'ere was just before me. Welcome to Deus, mm?" Lifting a hand, he went to go and shake Quinn's hand lightly, muttering something soft about not being a fish, before turning up to the gent and lady who came around them.
"I 'ave no problem with more people. 'Ow is it said, More the Merrier, oui? Quel est votre nom? I am Dorian Côté - from Quebec - I see you know Ian already?" He found this hunter very interesting, giving him a soft grin, before turning to the first woman he saw in this little group to the moment.
"Same goes for you, miss." He stated, offering a hand to her also, giving her a soft little look, she seemed rather pleasing. "A pleasure to meet you also. I 'ope you'll treat me, oui?" He teased, very lightly.
When did you get so popular?
You can shut up now.

As Wilson had spectacularly missed Allan's quip about the salmon, he could only shrug. "Okay then how about..." he scanned the menu briefly. "Set II? To be honest I'm fine with any of the sets." To be honest he just wanted the daily dessert special waiting at the very end.
He put down the menu and laughed as a certain native american hunter entered the scene. "Nice to see you again. You haven't gotten into too much trouble while I've been gone, have you?" Cue a confused smile at the curious use of nicknames, but this was Dakota so he wasn't that surprised. And then cue a smile at Saya because shhhh Wilson got you a necklace too as revengeeee because Syu said so
"Fear contaminated?" he echoed, a sudden mixture of curiosity and seriousness. "Did you manage to find anything else out? Where'd you get that from?"

"What it's down?" Mark stared at his crotch (where his tablet was located under the table, duh). One had to be extremely subtle when they were seated next to the lion's den. "Well that makes sense consider- how are texts even working here in the first place?" He boggled a bit.
The Death assistant glanced quickly at Kat, but she seemed to be preoccupied so he went back to playing with his tablet under the table, which just sort of looked like he was heavily engaged with his cro- lap.
Caelius took a second to glance at the doctor from the corner of his eye and then to Glenda, and then to Candace. He didn't quite say anything, but seemed to have conveniently raised a glass of water to drink to cover up any reactions regarding.

Ami attempted punctuality at all times and obedience to the point of blindness. So naturally, receiving a text with instructions, she obeyed.
It seemed as though many were already in the room, but Ami saw no reason not to join in. Having lost Lex some time ago, she instead took a seat near a boy she hadn't met. She set her small bag in the other seat next to her, ensuring that if Lex showed up, he would have a seat.
The trainees around her got a short nod. That was it. Ami sort of noticed her kouhais. But not really. Dorian got a twitch of her lips in disgust- scene hair? How childish. She was too busy texting anyways. "Trainees?" she said mindlessly, interest only half piqued. She set her phone down, giving them all a far too friendly and strangely carnivorous smile. "Which division are you all in then?" The question wasn't directed to any one trainee in particular. She stared at them all with an equally curious look. Whether she was truly curious or not was another question entirely.carhop cavalier Text: Care for some fine dining my dear?

A familiar voice made Ian tilt his head sideways, catching sight of Marcus as he hesitantly approached their seats.
"No, please join," he said amicably, and smiled at the other, trying to reassure him that things were Very Definitely Okay even if they weren't (considering what had just happened and the fact that they were still trying to figure out the whole relatives thing).
Ian flicked his gaze back to Quinn, giving a small laugh. "Well, you're newer than I am, that's for sure," he said cheerfully. "I've been up and att'em for a few days now, though this is the first 'mission' that I've ever been on - right Door-ee-an? What division are you in, Quintessential?"
{ Will you kindly stop coming up with ridiculous names for people? }
Candace's voice floated towards him, and Ian craned his neck, smiling up at her. "Good evening," he said lightly, and lifted his glass of wine in her direction, as though toasting her before he took a sip. "Have you met Dorian, Candace? He's in Mist as well, so he's one of your ducklings."
He winked playfully at her, and then gestured for the waiter again to order for Dorian something beef (which thankfully they had).
"So," Ian said. "Candace. How's life?"
He flashed a grin at the young woman who was giving them a once over. "Mist," he said, and raised his glass to her as well before taking another swallow of the wine (which was quite delicious, if he didn't say so himself).
