Harmony - Defending, passing out
HP: -3/30
Defense: 1d10
Damage taken: 8 - 2 = 6

As the crimson rider ducked behind her dragon's wing a surge of relief ran through Harmony, she couldn't have stood up to much more-

The dragon's wing lifted again, and the wingleader sprang at her like a feline. She tried to dodge out of the way but she was too late to move, too tired to move that fast. The knife went into her side and she staggered back clutching at it for a few moments before crumpling into a heap in the dirt.

Acriculeth - Attempting escape with A'nos & Harmony

Acriculeth appeared on the scene with a bellow, swooping down towards the ground and landing heavily with little of his usual grace. His eyes were red, grey, and even carried a flash of yellow. His rider had never been like this before, never. He couldn't touch his mind. he called to his allies, urgency and fear seeping into his usually cool voice even as those emotions had coloured his eyes. He had to get closer, had to save them!

Snarling viciously he bounded towards the little knot of humans and battling dragons. A'nos, his precious brilliant b*****d. They still had so much to do, so far to go.

V'ell - Attacking Moriath
HP: 30
Attack: 1d4+3+2 vs creature

3+3+2=8 damage
---

For as long as Moriath was still standing, shielding her rider from harm, their attacks were borderline useless - even with all of them working together they were barely scratching Kleos, and she was pummeling them. They had to take down the crimson to keep her from using her tactics, otherwise she would just continue to delay them until reinforcements arrived from Trine.

V'ell kept up the attack, hoping that her allies wouldn't flag now that the end was nigh.

Zarth - Attacking Moriath
HP: 40/45
Attack: 2d4+2

1+1+2=4 damage
---

It was working - they were forcing Moriath onto the defensive, and even with all her clever dodging she was still taking heavy damage. They could do this - they could take down the crimson, and then the rider would be easy prey! Zarth screeched and struck at Moriath again, this time aiming for the head and neck, though her attacks landed only shallow scratches.

Moriath - D1/2: Attack Firith. D3/4: Attack Firith.
Improved dodge used: 3/3
Halved attacks remaining: 0/3
HP: 40/80
Attack: 2d6+3
Dodge: 1d6+2
Damage taken: 18
Damage done: (5 + 3 + 3) = 11 (4 + 3 + 3) = 10 11 + 10 = 21/2 = 10.5 = 10 damage

As the greens dived at her again Moriath reared up and slashed at Firith with her foreclaws, ignoring the attack from Zarth as best she could. Ignoring the pain caused by V'ell's blade was harder, the rider seemed to know just where to plunge it to cause the most pain. The latest strike landed just as her forefeet hit the ground again after her swipe at Firith, and tore a shriek from the crimson's throat as the long knife went in between the bones of her foreleg.

she hissed to the wherholder dragons,

Kleos cried out in pain as Ralla's knife cut into her left arm. Squaring up to face her fully the scarred blonde made two vicious slashes before spinning to lunge at the woman attacking Moriath's legs.

Firith, Attempting Escape with Ralla

Firith was readying for another strike on Moriath when her own rider fell. There was pain, so much pain, and suddenly nothing. This had never happened before. Ralla had never fallen in battle...until now. For the first time in her life, Firith felt fear, sharp and chilling.

The Warden had never been the type to abandon a fight, but victory would mean little if it also meant dying. She searched desperately for an opening to reach and save her rider.

And then the air reverberated as near a full wing of dragons bellowed in unison.

Just as Moriath had sworn Dautless had arrived, and was closing on the training grounds fast.

Firith and Ralla
48+25-10=63

As she struggled to reach her rider and get her to safety, Firith screamed furiously at Moriath and her reinforcements. She wanted to fight them, kill them all, but she had to get to Ralla and save them both. Their enemies would die, she would see to it, but it would not be today.

Gather any fallen you can, she sent to her allies, And go. Quickly. Finally, she got hold of Hers, and calmer thoughts filtered through, made her less desperate. Less afraid.

No, she could not leave others behind, not if she could help it. She could not just save her own skin. They had rank, and with it came responsibility. Ralla would understand. I will cover for you, if I can.

((If it is necessary/permitted, Firith would sub for someone with a lower roll and be captured.))

V'ell and Zarth - GTFO
93+25=118, NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

She'd successfully attracted the wingleader's attention, at least. V'ell turned, her blade still green-stained with dragon ichor, and gave Kleos an absolutely savage grin of eager triumph -

- and then it was as if the skies opened up, and Dauntless wing was upon them.

Zarth swept low and V'ell leapt up onto her back without hesitation. V'ell was not the sort of greenrider who was going to let herself be captured for anyone else's benefit - save for D'ei's, and D'ei had a dragon of her own to fly away on. No, any who had fallen could stay where they'd fallen, as far as she was concerned.

Turning back just briefly as she hung off Zarth's straps one-handed, the greenrider offered Kleos one last sardonic grin and a mock salute as Zarth gathered leanly muscled hindquarters beneath her. Then V'ell was astride her neck, Zarth launched like a rocket, and the two of them were between before they were more than a dragonlength off the ground.

Despite having been somewhat late to the game, D'ei did not go looking to spend extra time in the bloodbath. She bared her teeth at Kleos when a whole new wing decided to slam out from between or shaff knew where. Lycath hissed and jerked towards his rider. D'ei swung onto him - V'ell already had herself situated, ready to go, and if V'ell didn't fall she had no reason to be on the ground either.

The brownpair jumped into the air to flee.

Acriculeth:
-10, -5

As the wing of Trine dragons appeared Acriculeth snarled and grabbed hold of his rider and Harmony. The woman's wher got a mental shove: go! If he made it to the deep jungle he would be able to keep hidden for long enough for somebody to come for him... perhaps, it wasn't his problem if the wher was too stupid to listen. Grasping the two unconscious humans in his forepaws Acriculeth tried to take wing, but some of his allies were in the way. At this rate he was going to be trapped.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 16, 2013 1:37 pm

Dauntless Wing descended swiftly and riders were soon on the ground, grabbing hold of one rider who was too slow to get to his dragon and swarming over the bronze that grasped his unconscious rider and the bronze wherhandler. The others were too quick for them, into the air and between before they could be stopped. Once they had secured the human prisoners the wing drove off Magith and Acriculeth, keeping them contained would not be practical.

Although the wherholders had not succeeded in their mission damage had been done. Kleos had fared reasonably well thanks to her dragon's stalwart defence and her thick riding jacket but Moriath was bleeding badly and her left wing hung limply by her side, broken by one of the wherhold dragons in their haste to take to the skies.

Grim faced the Trine riders hauled the wherholders to the cadges where captives from the mines were already being kept. The wherholders would pay for what they had done and attempted to do; heads were put together and plans to strike at a special clutch of wher eggs at Benden was set in motion.

Information

- E'lov, A'nos and Harmony were taken captive! Other riders, all dragons, and Harmonsk were able to escape.
