V’ell and Zarth // Burn Post
Look! There is Lycath!
The green diverted from her course, drawing near to the big brown and warbling a fond greeting to her weyrmate. A moment later, however, the reprieve was over. More Thread was falling, and she had to turn to meet it.
Her burst of flame, however, was less than spectacular. You need more firestone - we're out already. Turn your head, V'ell instructed, leaning down to fish more firestone out of her sack.

V’ell and Zarth // Damage Post
V'ell!
Zarth cried out in distress as a tangle of Thread wrapped around her forelegs painfully; it snuck up on her peripheral vision while she was busy ingesting more firestone. Her agility meant that she was away between before it burned down to the bone, but it was still a deep score for a small dragon.

S’dekai and Pioth // Burn Post
His arm throbbed painfully where the Thread had struck it, even after going between to freeze away the Thread itself. S'dekai hung onto the straps grimly, one-handed, and with his injured arm he scrubbed away the ash that coated his face and made his eyes stream.
Some of the greens were beginning to flag. It would be up to the sturdier bronzes, with their greater stamina, to hold on until the end. Pioth rallied, bolstered by his rider's desperation, and seared a great swath of Thread from the sky.

S’dekai and Pioth // Damage Post
A fragment of Thread struck his tail, and Pioth growled in irritation, flickering between to freeze it away. A minor score, nothing more.

[Z'redi and Green Rotatonth]
Rotatonth hurt, but she would endure. She wanted to scream again in frustration at the pain, but she would endure. said Z'redi, firmly as they turned back to the falling thread with a blast of flame. it was both statement and question. Z'redi looked around as they dove and twisted. And then she looked back, and her expression twisted in horror as she saw the clump approaching inexorably.

[Z'redi and Rotatonth] This time Rotatonth bit back a scream, flashing briefly between and back. Z'redi took a moment to hug her green. She was sorry. She should have seen it sooner. it was not free of affection, but it was serious, professional. Z'redi smiled, completing the mantra

[Z'redi and Rotatonth]
Rotatonth tried a tricky maneuver. she said curtly to her rider who nodded. The time for affection and comfort and pain was later. Thread still fell. She went between and then back out, blazing at a clump, before dodging and rolling away. Z'redi held back her glee and approval. This was not the time for that.

E'lov and Magith HP: 29 Agility: +2
Magith was starting to slow down, becoming tired from the effort. He did not have the greatest stamina for a blue, but he wasn't out of things yet.
There. E'lov pointed, and the blue rose to sear the thread from the sky. He was using as little effort as he could for the moment, so that he would be able to last until the end.
It was a matter of pride.

E'lov and Blue Magith / Damage Post Damage: 5 - 2 = 3 Agility: +2 HP: 26/37
Mistakes were easier to make when one was tired, and Magith was no exception. He turned, catching thread on the same leg that had been hit the first time. It burned, and he flitted between, freezing the thread off before returning to his position.
Do we need to go back to the weyr? E'lov asked, his hand resting on his dragon's neck.
No. We are going to finish this. They had come too far to quit now. I must fight thread so that I may know it.
E'lov couldn't argue with that.

He was tired of this, the risk to his life and their appearances and his dragon's pain. A'nos did not love many things, didn't even care about most people for all the warm and genial airs he put on but he loved his dragon and couldn't stand to feel him forcing himself on against the throb and burn of his wounds.
the bronze replied with a deep rumble-growl as he gathered another breath of flame. With this assertion the sleek dragon unleashed another gout of fire upon the Thread before them, flying onward in formation without so much as batting an eyelid.

[Z'redi and Rotatonth] Flap. Flap. Under Rotatonth's powerful wings, air whooshed. She was tiring, but she was not done. Not yet.
she flamed the thread before turning back for more firestone. Z'redi knew that Rota would like to break, though. But there really wasn't the time to do it. Perhaps after this wave... She blasted fire, darting in and out of Between as thread scored her hide.

V’ell and Zarth // Burn Post
Zarth was flagging rapidly. Her stamina simply wasn't up to completing a full Threadfall; like most greens, she would tire before the Thread had finished.
Lycath, love. Stay safe. Bring D'ei back to us, she called, before wheeling away to flame again. Even with a full gullet of fresh firestone, her flame was a half-hearted and wheezing one. The pain and stress were taking their toll.

How much longer would this wave last! The green rider pair caught another bag of firestone. Canoake wrinkled her nose.

V’ell and Zarth // Damage Post
That's it. We can't take more hits like that.
I can still fly, Zarth protested fiercely, wings beating hard. I can still keep up with the wing!
I'm not going to drive you to the point where we're forced to drop out of the air, V'ell responded sternly, fingers tightening on the straps. Signal the Wingleader.
Zarth bugled in disappointed frustration, but bespoke the Wingleader's dragon nonetheless. V'ell and Zarth here - we've taken heavy damage and my flame is fading. I have to land.
