Here we go again.
Shouyin came a'rip-roaring out of the temple, speeding off in some random direction as quickly as possible so as to escape the confines of this Hellish environment posthaste. Hiso started screaming again in his head, and his right arm twirled and spiked and spasmed much like before. If the half-golem was thankful for one thing it was that no new side-effect of stepping into the Void reared its ugly head.
He wasn't sure how Lazenca was taking it, but he could've sworn the temperature dropped something fierce, because he could see the clouds of heavy breath falling out of his mouth and fading away. A shivver in his left shoulder shook the wheel slightly, but he kept a straight course and continued on out.

Shouyin rolled 1 6-sided dice:
2
Total: 2 (1-6)

A heavy sighed was heaved out of Shouyin's shoulders, and drifted from pursed lips like a steady kettle's steam. Time seemed to be going slowly, and the dry winds in front of him loop-dee-looped across the windshield at an agonizingly subtle pace. Smacking the gas pedal slightly just to feel that sudden lurch and surprised roar, the half-golem continued ahead, weary of these spasms and the screams and the cold.
A soft light settled itself on the horizon, and the half-golem thought no better than to follow it.

As they entered the Void, the stereo blared, however it didn't seem as much turned up, as if the singer was screaming the lyrics. Viceroy seemed particularily distressed, but it was just chaos as usual. Even amid the screams of pain in his head and the spasms in his right arm, Shou barely felt a thing.
'Twas a bit of a melancholy moment amid the insanity.
BLACK HOOF MARE, BROKEN LEG, EYE ON THE SHOTGUN SHELL. AGE OLD DOG, HORNET NEST, BUILT IN THE BIG CHURCH BELL.

The constant pains seemed to dull for that reason alone. Shou swore the exit was in sight.

Nascen's throat was dry. Quite dry, and his feet felt nice and comfy but his knees were stiff, his muscles ached, and over all he was feeling out of it a bit. He could use some kind of pick-me-up, sure. A tired man was he, plunging into the void without a look back as he entered.
"Seventy-nine bottles of something with-maybe-just-a-whee-bit-of-alchohol on the wall, seventy-nine bottles of... booze. Take one down, pass it around, seventy-eight bottles of beer on the wall..."
Shame he wasn't seeing too many walls right now.

Had Allen meant what he said? Probably; he was too good a man, not to be an honest one. But why would he want to work with her? Had he missed the babies in catapults escapades during the battle for Barton?
It was possible that he had not. But surely he must know...
Yet, he kept the company of those such as Stryphe and James Black. Perhaps he was a truly good man, who's ethics mandated forgiveness. His wings had not yet healed, and yet he had forgiven her for inflicting the wounds... a rare man, that.
Full of musings, Flare continued making her way toward the temple of destiny.

In came the van, moving faster than would have been advisable with anyone but the Chauffuer behind the wheel. But Chales was just that good. Good enough that they'd caught up to Flare, at least.
Allen just so happened to lean his head out the window and wave at her as they came near.

And then the van was past Flare, too fast for her to have really done anything in reply to Allen, though she probably could have seen him pulling back into the van.
They were almost at the Temple, just a little further.

Flare waved back, long after the van had gone past, a sardonic grin on her face. A moment more of standing still, then she was off once more, following the tire tracks in the sand.

The unsettling feeling of displacement... the feeling of being swallowed up by the darkness...
Yea... it was here.
Cardinal directions failed.
Gut feelings flopped.
Nothing to do but believe in his heart and keep pushing forward.
Even if forward felt like down and around.
