"I don't know what you even want to know about me. I thought I answered your questions well enough. I can't help it if you think I'm a liar all the time though. It doesn't exactly make you feel great to hear it. If that makes you feel bad, then I don't know what to tell you." He watched her, wondering where they were to go from here.

His eyes widened as he was very confused by the question. "My hands had dirt on them. I didn't want to get dead plants and dirt in your hair when I checked your head." Why would she ask that?

"You had dirt on you, but not in your hair. I didn't want to jab dirt into any open wounds so I went and got another pair of gloves to check if you were cut without worrying I'd make it worse. Your hair is very well maintained and thick. I wouldn't appreciate anyone tossing dirt in my hair." Again, it was a strange question to ask.

Fine, whatever, Rin had to concede this time - Melvin was never going to get it. She pushed against the wall, bringing herself to standing straight. At least not this. "And besides; to be honest back. I was trying to see your scar."

"I just don't want to show it. That's not guarding." He said, his voice reaching a higher pitch than normal. "Why would you want to see a scar? It's..." He rubbed his neck. "It's not like a battle scar. It's not pretty." It was also something he hide since he received it, and he hated looking at it. Anyone else seeing it only made the feeling of it being there, the knowledge of what a monster had done to his body, even worse.

"That's.... exactly what guarding is," Rin sighed as she tried to move closer. "Because. It's yet another something you won't share. Something I thought you were going to be more open about, considering..." She shrugged, "I guess I just. I thought you were opening up about it."
"I guessed wrong," Rin offered her most hurt look.
