Well...I suggest we honestly wait for our leaders to return before doing RPing...because...well we don't want to get ahead of ourselves without them knowing what's happening too. I'm not sure what we should do to bring the RP back ;v; //just a flimsy crew member

Okay, no offense and I mean no disrespect, but honest opinion: I feel like the guild is going to truly die because people are not able to post. I have already joined two new guilds [I even joined a sport for this and other reasons untold] to try and wait until you guys can proceed with your plot, but it's been more than a month. Can't we do something, like 'filler arcs'. We don't have to proceed with the plot, but we can still make the cats hunt and do stuff, right? Unless everyone already is, and this post makes me look like a complete idiot. Anyways, ban me if you wish, but that's just what I feel right now.

Admittedly, I have to agree. I feel like people's hearts aren't just in it. Most of the people, it seems, who were holding the guild together are just leaving. I was the captain of a guild a long time ago but had to pass it on to someone else. It's almost like guilds only have a certain lifespan, but I hate to see this one go down.
There has got to be something we can do to get the guild back on track. I was posting a few days ago, but the only person who would reply was lollipop_chan. For a little while back there people were starting to post again, but something happened. I feel like we have to address what it is that happened.
If anyone reads this, I will be glad because it seems like no one bothers to read these any more.

Well the biggest issue is working around everyone's schedule. Tbh June was killer for me, and I was planning to return at the beginning of June.
Part of it is that we were so young when we started out that we had enough time to RP; most of us were in mid school and hadn't yet experienced the responsibilities of high school yet, so obviously we had more time. As my Junior and Senior years hit me, I found myself with less and less free time to RP, and I think it's the same with other members of the guild.
Guilds are like that usually because the group of people writing together are around the same age. Bless Zann and Echo for staying so active for so long, though! They cut into other priorities to write with us. :0
Anyway, the issue for me is that I'm an adult with more responsibilities than ever. Getting my license, a job, and drawing for an endless list of people are all things that take priority over the guild because they impact my real life.
I can't really head the storyline anymore. But what does that mean?Two things.
o1) Inactive leaders/med cats:I've always loved surprising the WTNC members with plot twists and things, and usually only Leo and Asian were aware of them.
Now, it seems what really needs to happen is that we need to decentralize our system. The people we depend on are shifting their priorities and are becoming inactive (or unable to carry out guild duties fully). This refers to the many inactive med cats and leaders we have. Explanation comes in just a bit.
o2) Storyline: Expose the full story to everyone so y'all can plan your character developments in accordance to what is going to happen, and also so that you can push the plot forward when needed.
So what can we do?
o1) Inactive important cats: Take a risk. The characters in charge of moving the plot forward must be universally available. What I mean by that is anyone can control them so long as it's necessary. This also means that we have to put trust in y'all that you won't abuse that.
The reason I'm suggesting this is because when leaders/med cats go inactive, handing the character off to 1 other person has (so far) been ineffective because it becomes cumbersome to their temp owner to juggle all the cats they have, usually, and then sometimes they go inactive too. Instead, handing the character off to the general member population would really help increase progress.
If you're caught abusing the power to further your own plot, like having the leader give your chara permission to leave the clan for another clan and everyone is magically ok with it, punishment will obviously be dealt. IF we give this power out to everyone, we're trusting you to use it for the powers of good! :>
** Deputies and med cat apprentices don't really need to be controlled that much unless leader's giving orders?? I guess
o2) Storyline: Since power to temporarily RP leaders/med cats is given out, you can go ahead and push progress forward by controlling them. Tada! No more inactivity!
It's all just a theory, but I think if such leaders/med cats were treated like NPC's with default traits (like anyone RPing Galestar would have him act calm and laid back b/c that's how he is 99% of the time), and we could use them as tools basically JUST to give orders when they're needed for other cats, then everything would become so much easier for everyone involved.
I don't know what everyone thinks of that, but at the very least, I'm giving everyone permission to do this with my cats.

To me the thought is terrifying because it's like we're losing our leaders. It's also unsettling because there's the problem of people god modding or making the leader contradict themselves or trying to make the same character do different things. There's the risk of everyone being on different pages rather than the same page.
With everyone busy and moving on, I honestly don't know what to say. I personally am busy with my job and last year of school, but I don't know what to say. I get on when I have time, but other people don't have it as easy as I do.
One great thing about the guild was the plot twists with the story being revealed, it was amazing and you never knew what was coming. If it becomes universally know, yes, it will be easier, but, on the other hand, it will lose part of the excitement of the role play. However, right now the biggest thing is activity.

I agree with Ember wrote too. As much as it could be a temporary solution, and could get things rolling again, it may cause is to still end up in a situation where we have 2 or 3 people only posting on one clan, and trying to run the whole clan, even through NPC's. It could become very hectic, or even too easy, having no cats to 'not get along with.'

The newer/less active members would not be given this power because, obviously, we don't really know if they'll abuse it or not.
So basically "manual control" for designated characters will be given to a larger member base. Previously, we chose either only crew members or a small group of people. Now we are giving to a larger collection of people.
I think we can trust those active to catch anyone abusing this power, anyway. If someone tries to manipulate the leaders for their own benefit and Neko (the most active crew member) sees, I'm pretty sure she will rain justice down on them. C:
For the purposes of organizing the new activity system, I will post a thread in the main forum (when we've all agreed on something for it) titled "Manage Activity" or somehting. We should also get permission from those who own important cats to control them. Also remember that you do not control the cat if the person is actively posting, ONLY if they go on hiatus/disappear for more than a few days.
It would look something like this.

It's a bit more reassuring with it laid out like this, but in some situations it might not work. For example, Falconwind has head his head in Foxstar's den and needs to talk to him and, for the sake of the example, I have Foxstar give his orders, a converation could go down between two characters being controlled by the same person. It doesn't seem like it could always work out.
I think a discussion in Google Docs would be a good idea, but I think a friend (invite-only) chat would be easier since we're already on gaia. Plus with having person information on google accounts or whatever, not everyone may be comfortable with in.
But now with an example of the plot and member control laid out, I think it would work, but with more selective-ness about who controls which cats. The newer member or members who aren't as trusted are those who I'm worried about.
Those are just my thoughts at the moment.

It's just that guilds are so hard to keep up with. I NEED NOTIFICATIONS.
Anyways, I've got a system worked out (AND A NEW LAPTOP) so I'm all set for the future. I've got to read all of that and get caught up. Then I'll start posting for my cats. I've missed them so much. I've been writing a bunch of nonsense stories about them in my free time. And then I decided to read Season 1 and found something Burrpelt said a long time ago:

I agree with Ember for the most part and with this information and such, I think activity should somewhat remain stable...though we have plenty of members who're busy...so I think we should double check on who is active and do a "Calling all members who wish to stay" sort of thing again...or at least get a little bit more active in paying attention to who's more active and such.
Also, I'm proudly going to stay an active crew member and if I can help in any way possible, I'll do my best. Though, I'm rather busy this month as I have school coming up soon ((short summer break //sob)) and online classes I need to finish by the end of the month...but, I will be able to post and such as I'm pretty active, if I do say so myself xD
Anyways, I don't mind if anyone controls my important cats ((Moonblaze and Foxstar)) as long as they are trustworthy members who won't butcher their personalities and such. I'm all for the idea Timber recently proposed. Speaking of Timber, that little layout thing would be really helpful and I love it!
On a side note, even though tension kills me, I love when I don't know TOO much of a plot because it just makes the rp alot more fun when it surprises you xD <3
For the chat stuff, I've sent you a pm Timber and I can't wait! I'd love to talk to you guys as well! This rp is probably the only one I've been in for so long...I think I joined in 2009-2010 or something along the lines biggrin

Come August, I'll probably be up to my nose in workload. As most of you know, I'm quite a bit older than most people here and I've already graduated from one degree, going on to do a second. I can usually find time to rp because I read fast and type relatively quickly, but not as quickly as Timber XD
I like to plot and chat on skype, so if anyone's frequently on skype, let me know and we can plot shiz~
