Slipping her hand back into his, Tomoko gave it a squeeze. "Unless we're just looking in the wrong place for them?" she murmured back. Maybe they should have been trying to get a better look at something else in the room that could have had clues about the entirety of this strange underwater cavern.

Still, that nervous shake was back. Was questioning a chalice helping when it came to what they needed to do for their Kingdom? Erebus wasn't the only one needing to think.

[[ Entering because was allocated to Tower! ]]

Nkosazana had finally made it to the Tower, but instead of climbing, she ... fell in.

Uncomfortably, she fell onto her bottom, but yet did not find herself groaning in pain when she reached it, landing gentle despite what might have seemed to be harsh. For her, at least, it wasn't as long of a drop as it was for those on the top, no matter how much she had not been expecting to fall into a sinkhole instead of the remnants of the castle her people once lived in.

It was hard to be here, really, and she didn't want to be in a lot of ways. Her people had died. People were here, mining the miasma from her people to make into their own, not even minding the fact that it had just come from a kingdom that was once thriving, once so alive with people and goods and knowledge and information and excitement and an entire culture that would never, ever be seen in the same way again, its participants scattered throughout the other seven kingdoms, stuck fighting each other in a seemingly futile war to become the True King.

Nkosazana could not bring herself to care about True Kings.

Her True King was dead.

Still, she brought herself to her feet, knowing she had to continue on. What caught her eye the most was, perhaps, the odd gate, standing out against the rest of the environment. It beckoned to her for more than one reason, the symbolism on the gate screaming in familiarity. She knew this gate. She didn't necessarily know the particular gate, but she did know the symbol on top of it.

That was the Silver Crown.

"This is a Silver Crown Gate," stated she, aloud, biting down on her lip slightly. Curious to see if she could get anything out of it, she investigated the area around the gate, moving around it to the back to see if she could see anything of interest.

The Phoenix thought she'd ended it all by stepping into the tower and falling through the floor. Her weightlessness ceased only when she came into contact with the water. It was the most peculiar thing.

She was fine.

The water held her close, seemingly cradling her gently until she passed through it like regular old water. It appeared as though she wasn't the only one here either. Smirking, the Queen noted that the Silver King's secrets weren't so secret after all.

Of the things in this cavern, her eyes fell on the gate and its ornate framing. Dragging her sore self over to doorway, she shook away the wet feeling from her boa and had a look see. The walls along the gate were marked with what was a very old tale. She wanted to see what would happen if one attempted to walk through the gate. So she tried.

"Ahaha, I suppose if you like water it's an adventure. But can't say I'm too fond of it." He pushed his wet hair away from his forehead. Elliot wasn't bad at swimming, but he wasn't very fond of it either. On the contrary, Ami seemed to love it. She was hovering just below the surface of the lake. Below her, Elliot could see the people gathered around the chalice. They were searching for the answer to it's questions, and he ought to be doing the same. But Elliot was drawing a blank.

"What do you think about--" he threw his arm around to gesture at the entirety of the cavern, "all of this? This used to be the Silver Kingdom yeah?"

Was there something that he was missing? Was there something he was overlooking?

"W-we would hope so," she had to muse. Though, she was probably not looking much better herself with all the random chunks of debris that was still stuck in her hood. The one thing that the fall had at least provided was a a chance to whip off all of that dust and dander from her. So, maybe it was hard to tell when one basically looked ... just like a black mass with red on them.

She turned her gaze just as he muttered to himself, making her double take and look back at the possible new Shadow, "hm?" She asked curiously, having missed what he said.

Lan wasn't sure what, if anything, was happening outside of what they could see. A gateway, a chalice, meanings and terms. The silver kingdom had fallen and now they had come for miasma only to find they riddle in a riddle. Eye narrowing she looked around at the other member of the gold kingdom, To Madison, Mjoll, Shaheen, Senga and Kiwi.

"Shaheen."

Lan looked to the General. "What do you think of these remnants of the silver kingdom? It feels like we've entered something akin to a tomb."

Ami paddled around Elliot, finding him altogether more interesting now that she could properly see him with all of her senses. She could his wet hair flip rather attractive, but of course she'd never say that. That was embarrassing.

Her happy expression faltered as Elliot talked about the Silver kingdom. "I ... do no particularly have attachment to this area, so it is not a travesty, but a tragedy." She was going to be honest about it. She didn't care about the kingdom, but it was horrible that any place should have to undergo such stress. "And ... if I am allowed further study of it, I'd like to see that the White Kingdom does not also fall as the Silver kingdom has."

She looked up at Elliot, realizing she was rambling a bit. "Y-You?"

"Well enough, considering the last time I'd woken up in water it was to this... existence." It felt wrong to call it a 'life' exactly, but one must work with what one has, she supposed. Grimacing, she added, "Only I hope that will be the last of our falling adventures, at least for the time being." It bothered her how much more concerned she'd been with the feeling of plummeting down... rather than the fact she'd been going to hit something down below. The free fall was a greater fear than the impact.

She pushed the thoughts aside for the moment. Something to dwell on later. As she watched Joachim dig in the dirt, she looked once more to the treasure within the water itself. No harm in taking some, surely... a few gold coins glittered not far from her feet, and with a quick push to stand, it was simple enough to snatch them up.

No markings she was familiar with. "I wonder if any of the Silver Kingdom knew this was here." Some had arrived to the Violet Kingdom just before she'd departed. Perhaps she'd get the chance to ask?

Looking to the walls that enclosed them, she began to roll one of the coins between her fingers, walking to the walls to inspect the engravings. She heard another girl (Serafina) question existence of an eighth kingdom. Wrinkling her brow, she began to peer further to the markings on the walls, lifting what information she could of the tale.

Seven crowns, seven pieces. What did become of the eighth?

Curious, she stopped rolling the gold coin and instead held it up towards the wall, trying to see if any of the markings matched. "Perhaps... the eighth kingdom was once all of them? The remainder of what was first broken into the seven?" She glanced towards Serafina, unsure if what she said even made any sense. But as she looked back to the coin and the wall markings, she couldn't help but wonder if the treasure had belonged to the Silver Kingdom... or perhaps to some other kingdom.

Perhaps even to this... 'True King'? Hey it was a long shot, but worth a look.

Thus far, his words had received no response. Kiwi stood a moment, staring carefully to the chalice, before his eyes swept to the crowd. Past several strangers, he could spy Lan. She seemed to be motioning them together. Something urgent was afoot surely.

He crossed the space between them, and bowed curtly to the adviser. Lowering his voice so he would not be overheard, he spoke. "Glad you made it safely Lan. It seems we are currently at a standstill, blocked with no exit. But I sense something important lies in that chalice, and stone it rests atop."

In response to Millie, the the Chalice glowed, the words appearing on its surface.

Legacy.

A voice resonated from within the chalice, not the Voice, but female, clear and simple, a light hint of a strange, untraceable accent. "There once was a Great King, who ruled a Great Kingdom, and fought a Great War. Like all legacies, he too perished, but left with behind items of unfathomable power.

A weapon forged from purest light, the strongest symbol of protection.

A throne made of purest power, the strongest symbol of pride.

An amulet made of purest energy, the strongest symbol of creation

A tome made of purest knowledge, the strongest symbol of destruction.

A staff made of purest darkness, the strongest symbol of revenge.

A fountain made of purest water, the strongest symbol of his grief.

A casket made of purest void, the strongest symbol of his reflection.

They were scattered through time, and the Great King forgotten. They and they alone would however, not forget his legacy."

The noise silenced again and then nothing more as the water in the lake began to slowly drain itself, the jewels shift as from the walls, the earth, everything around them grew jagged glowing white crystals. They stopped just short of consuming those inside the room, oddly threatening yet still. They glimmered of Miasma.

The cave was cold and silent again.

OOC

ALL PLAYERS:

- Thanks to the white crystals growing all over the room, players will now have to leave, as the entire area cannot be investigated further. ALL PLAYERS HAVE HEARD THIS SPEECH (anyone in the cave, if you arrived late, it is still assumed your character was in the room as this happened)
- HOWEVER, you can try to chip a bit of the crystal off. It is rock-hard, but a bit of it will yield miasma. However, getting too close to it makes the crystals shift, as if they want nothing more than to swallow you.
- All players should EXIT the area and return to their KINGDOM thread. You can also now post your Miasma Points in the points dropoff.
- Roll 1d4 and SUBTRACT IT BY TWO. This is the amount of Miasma Points you get in this encounter. That means if you roll 1 you get 0 Miasma Points. You can only roll once. This stacks with your current count (of whatever it is).
- If you just arrived and didn't manage to make any post, just read and react to the final prompt above and the make your exit/ roll for points

The Fool listened to the Voice, her grip on Balthazar growing tighter.

She wanted none of this Miasma, pearlescent and cold and empty. She wobbled towards the exit, still unnerved by the vision she'd seen. She shifted into a canine form, padding along with Balthazar at her shoulder at a steady pace.

The King needed to know about all this. She'd let someone else do the lion's share of the talking, to be sure, but he needed to know that there was more at stake than what met the naked eye...

Her hand slipped back in his, Erebus gave her a soft smile as they waited.

Millie had gotten it right, apparently. He stared as the chalice glowed, and another voice, just a single voice spoke. It was different from the Voice, but Erebus could not help wondering if they were somewhat connected.

"A casket made of purest void." He murmured. Were these artifacts all back in their own Kingdoms? It certainly was something to ask their King when they returned.

He wasn't perturbed by the water draining, but as the crystals emerged, Erebus instinctively pulled Tomoko closer. His free hand hovered by a nearby crystal. It moved, but Erebus gritted his teeth and attempted to chip some off. They needed Miasma for their Kingdom and some strange crystals weren't about to stop him.

For his effort, he got a little bit. But every bit counted. He could only hope that it was enough to keep their Kingdom from falling.

That… wasn’t what he wanted at all. Still, he memorized it. Damn he though the cup was the crown. That was stupid of course. And that gate, he didn’t check it out, and now, everything was gone.

And now there was nothing but crystal was around them. Now would be the time to leave. He frowned. The tower was gone, but he had made his peace with it. Now he knew, there was nothing left for him here. He glanced around at all the people from multiple kingdoms. But where would he go? He could go anywhere, any of the kingdoms was a valid choice… here was no good, the crystal pulled at him. He bumped into one and pulled away, not liking the hungry feeling coming from them. He headed out.

He knew one place that would at least possible take him back. Maybe they were still willing to take ranked recruits, as odd as that was. But more importantly, maybe he could use his information to his advantage, and perhaps even figure a way out of this mess.

The crown… no there could be more than one. He smirked to himself. Maybe the king knew something. If he could just get close enough to hear it.
Of course, the fact that he knew at least two other silvers were there: one converted blue, and one who happened to be still a little injured had nothing to do with his choice.

This was not the same, somehow. In the palace garden, they'd heard it, but this was a softer voice. A more feminine voice was telling the story of older times. To each king, a relic of some sort was bestowed. This was news to the Queen; growing up in the palace, she'd never heard mention of a particular tome pertaining to their alignment. She'd have some news to share...

but first, as the room fell void of the water, the crystals began to take over. Recognizing them as miasma-containing, she tried to tinker at a shard to no avail. There was an odd sensation coming from them she just couldn't trust. It was as if they were thinking of taking her within them. She fled at the first available opportunity when she didn't see any of her kinsmen around to assist out as well.

She hoped they'd all gotten out safely...

Maple listened with perked interest as a female voice filled the air, telling all that was within the cave a tale. Her head tilted ever so as she told of a particular staff, nearly missing the end of the tale. The forgotten Great Kingdom, the small Shadow wasn't sure if that was something she had heard about or if it was just an odd familiar name. Something to ponder, or perhaps talk to the King about.

Like the Fool, passing the information to him might be of great interest. Especially in her measly amount of gathered Miasma. Hopefully her failure wouldn't upset the Shadowlord too much.

Oh she hoped, as she began to make her leave. Though, before she did, she took a cautious step towards the glittering white gems that had remained after the lake drained and held out her hand. Maybe if she could, reach one, she hoped. Yet failed, snatching her shadowed hand back. What.. she couldn't figure out what it was trying to do. She made a discouraged face and back away.

"C-coming?" She asked Uru, before heading out.
