He could see someone a bit farther behind him...and Sharra noted their presence, but for the moment paid them little heed. There was no reason in battling when they had a singular focus here. Gritting his teeth, he pressed forward, each step seeming just that much harder, and the warm, angry throb of his first injury reminded the blond that he was no longer in peak condition.
In an attempt to get better balance, his fingers strayed near the water, another of the creatures rising up to attempt to garner his arm for dinner. Yanking it away, his reflexes saved him, though the territorial beastie's teeth took some of his flight-suit with him. "Damn..." He hissed, realizing that he'd managed a few more bumps and bruises, falling into the swamp. "Now I smell like death as well..."

This time, his attacker came at his face. While Rosciel respected that, he wasn't too keen on being attacked. The creature leapt upon him, sending him to his back in the bog and clawed at his arm. It took a heartbeat or two, but the physician managed to get his feet under the monster and kicked it into the air. It crashed to the muddy ground, a dazed look on its face, giving Rosciel the time he needed to run.

This time the elusive and vicious swamp-creature sank claws into him, maw opened wide to unleash a stench of decay emanating from betwixt its jaws. Snarling, Sharra kicked his opponent vengefully in the stomach, the blond's heart pounding as he realized how close his brush with death had been. Hell. He'd best get out of here soon or else he would end up on the menu for the entire food chain. The creature was back.
it nearly took a finger this time...Sharra noted almost dully as his foe's yellowed teeth sank into one of his palms, causing the young man to cry out in startlement and pain, blood welling up as he jerked his limbs away, the monster sinking into the swamp. The tiny winking lights on the bracer affixed to his left forearm sped up, running circles 'round his wrist. Great. Just great. Now his life signs were a touch haywire.

Now this place was more like it. What lovely flowers! Or well, they were physically quite lovely looking, at least--upon crouching down to touch one of the blooms, the Viera shuddered as the sudden sensation of something being sapped away from her. However, these were what they had been sent out to gather, so she had little choice but to pick as many as she could. All she had to do was mind how many she took, and she should be fine.

After a few more moments, Sharra took in a slow breath of relief. It seemed as though he'd lost his cheery follower. "Well I know where not to go for some rest and a friendly drink..." He pointlessly blathered a touch to himself, the quiet ring of his own voice drowning out the squelch of each step, and the throbbing of his wounds. Eventually the thief (champion thief at that) found himself at the edge of the grass, and staring at a boggy area full of unpleasantness. He stood there for a time, simply watching as others ventured their way through, and noted that the bog itself appeared to hide many dangers. He'd have to be fairly quick and nimble to make his way through. With a long sigh one suffering of extreme boredom, the dhampire readied himself by doing a few limbering stretches. And then he was off. Ducking, dodging, moving so lightly and swiftly that his feet didn't even have time to sink into the soggy, sticky, disgusting mass of swampy miasma beneath him. He could see the end in sight, the flare of red from the miasma flowers that he would soon be picking, a grin spreding across his face as he pushed off hard with a foot on what appeared to be one of the few solid surfaces to be found. He was flying through the air. An acrobat, a performer. This was his element, he totally had thi--- Something grabbed a hold of his left leg, biting into it, pain stabbing through it and he gasped, jerking away reflexively. When he landed, it was nothing near graceful, his body crumpling onto a lush and red flower filled field. That could have gone slightly better. With a groan, more out of embarrassment then any real pain, the thief pushed himself to his feet. The green kingdoms champion, he reminded himself. Hmm, yes, she could most definitely carry more than just one. It sapped energy from her, but not so much that it weakened her that much. OF course, it would all just build up with time, but until then...

One, two, three, four...five more flowers to the bouquet that she was already holding. By this point, the Viera was really starting to feel the effects of the miasma flowers a little more strongly, the new batch drawing away her energy the moment it touched the bare skin of her hand.
Ugh, now the question was...should she risk grabbing more, or stop now? He looked up to find himself in a field of red flowers, the sense of miasma surrounding them. Picking flowers was not what he had expected to be doing, but it was something that he could certainly manage. He quickly plucked two, one in each hand, examining them carefully as if searching for some sort of answer. They were nice, but it was likely that he needed additional flowers before moving on. He tucked the flowers away, quickly stooping to collect another pair. It perhaps looked foolish, a knight out in a field, gathering flowers, but these obviously belonged with his kingdom. When the Blue King of Vegas had mentioned that flower picking was an option, Olivia hadn't exactly expected what she found when she finally made it to the Labyrinth. It had taken her quite a while as it was to find it - perhaps that was part of the maze? It also didn't help that she was still healing from her injuries - so after so much to think about with the task at hand ... well, maybe she didn't know what to expect.
Except for flowers. She couldn't see flowers.
Just grass and high hedges. Her blue looked around slowly, a little disappointed in what she was finding around her. Though, to be sure it was still a little better to come here than to go the Tower like the Blue King had wanted them to. It was too soon, and the small girl wasn't sure how she would handle it.
Olivia took a cautious step forward, unsure of what to expect and peered around, and tried to ignore some of the sounds she was hearing.
"H-hello?" she asked, testing to see if anyone else was around.

Going from the subtle beauty of her kingdom, seen only for the first time today, to this - Riley's senses were overloaded with new information. It was difficult to process everything, and she looked for the first familiar face to latch on to. Unfortunately for him, that was Shun.
A hand lay on his elbow, and her eyes crescented up at him, before she gestured with her other hand to the floor.
