My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... It certainly means that they'd become quite the flourishing Type, or rather, Dragons will be much less common. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

I'm pretty sure we can confirm Roller Skates at this point going on how the male PC was grinding on that rail and the fact the new Gym Leader wears them 3nodding

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... It looks like Mega Evolution is activated with a button on the actual battle interface. We still don't know if it takes up a turn, if it has any priority, or anything of the sort, though. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

Actually based on the wording it looks like the Awakening happens in conjunction with an attack: Serebii.net Once you get to Professor Sycamore, he will give you Mewtwo and teach you about Mega Evolution, which is just done by a tap of a button with a move the same turn, and he'll then battle you

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... Yeah. I hadn't seen the demo and other whatnots prior to having said that. It looks like Mega Evolution may have high priority, based on the speed at which it took place. It might be some odd similar to: switching, mega evolution, +6 priority, and so on. I could be wrong, but it appeared to be quite a quick thing to take place. ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

I'm not sure completely on the mechanics, but I see it one of two ways, presuming a dirty switch, you switch in your megamon in regular form to take the hit if attacked, choose to mega evolve and an attack, and your turn (including the awakening) happens based on who is faster. It's possible the megavolution doesn't count as a move and is just something that activates when it's your turn But if they do assign a priority to it, it could be possible that the megavolution and the attack that follows could be seperated by your opponents move if youre slower than your opponents pokemon. Just giving it a +6 in priority doesn't help much if the opposing pokemon is faster with a priority move.

My face is reflected in the water... It's a shining grin full of hope... Well, as shown in the demo, you have to actually select that you want to mega evolve as well as choose the move that you want to make. Granted, seeing that they use Crobat as an example, it could well have just been a speed tie that Mewtwo happened to win if both had max Speed, but I can't be sure ... Or it could be a look of somber silence struggling with fear... What do you see reflected in your face???

there may also be an IV or level difference, but like you said, it's still a little ambiguous

With the news that serebii posted about two new trademarks "Pokken Fighter" and "Pokken Tournament" I may have gotten the last pieces of the puzzle for me to confidently make an assumption. That being a Pokemon (possibly crossover) fighting game. The last scene during the retrospective, seemed more like a fighting game than a Stadium/Colosseum, and I also thought that the "Awakened" forms seemed very fighting game-ish, and one of the reasons they're pushing it so hard, is for a possible fighting game.
Unless theres a specific game they're crossing over with, "Pokken" may be a mixture of pocket or pokemon and "ken" japanese for fist. There was a rumor of another crossover game as well as some sort of spin-off, and this may be what they're talking about
I also couldn't find any rhyme or reason as to why certain pokemon were being announced, but if a fighting game is coming out, the list makes more sense, all of them with the exception of Absol, are Bipedal pokemon. Absol may be in X/Y only.
If you take the possible leak list from pokejungle, the majority of those leaked are also bipedal:
Charizard Blastoise Gengar Pinsir Jynx Gyarados Aerodactyl Scizor (Already confirmed unofficially) Houndoom Tyranitar Heracross Gardevoir Medicham Banette Aggron Latias/Latios Abomasnow
No solid foundation to my speculation, but it makes sense in the acid trip world that I live in.

Interesting theory, but I kinda feel that the reason they're pushing the Mega Evolutions, is that Mega Stone are going to be the new Dream World where eventually everything fully evolved will get one, and they will be released in Dream World in batches and events. Also, my mind made a Tekken connection, specially with the name, so that could be the game it crosses over with. And why are some of the names bolded?

I hope not, I'm neither here nor there about the megalutions, but if it's possible to do it for every pokemon it kind of detracts from the "specialness" of mega-evolving. It reminds you of Tekken because Tekken means "Iron Fist" in Japanese, where Pokken could be "Pokemon Fist" though that doesn't mean that a crossover isn't possible. Just pointing out the reason why everyone thinks immediately of Tekken. All the pokemon in bold are also Bipedal, so if the list is accurate, and a fighting game is in the making, that would make at least 18 pokemon for a fighting game, which isn't that bad for a Pokemon only fighting game.

The new pokemon direct has shown three new mega evolutions, the Kanto starters Charizard, Venusaur and Blastoise. Charizard gets the ability drought which may push ninetales into UU or BL, Venusaur will get Thick Fat, which is ok, but without the ability to hold a leftovers limits the bulkiness, and Blastoise gets a new ability called "Mega Launcher" serebii states that it boosts the moves, i'm assuming in power, which may boost it up a tier. They also announced a cloud server which will allow you to have 100 boxes, the catch is you have to pay for it.
That's it for now

Sylveon's Stats: So, one of the recent trailers has revealed how the EV training will be done through games, as previously stated, but that' not why I'm posting. In the example they use a Sylveon and at the end they show a Stats chart and show how the stats were effected. So, knowing that all Eeveelutions have the same stats, just rearranged, we can theorize on this pokemons base stats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXwxxi6sMQsSkip to 1:32 to see the stat chart HP: 65 (or 60) ATK: 65 (or 60) DEF: 60 (or 65) SP.ATK: 110 SP.DEF: 130 SPD: 95 Notes: I do no know Japanese so if I translated any part of the chart wrong, please do tell. Note: 60 and 65 are so close on the chart, it's hard to make a call, it's just what it looks like to me.

The cost in America will be $5 a year. And it will allow for connections to multiple games, so if you're like me and do both casual and competitive, you can just put your pokemon on the cloud restart the game and then take them back!
