"If you could. We need to free as many cots as we can." They left, tossing aside the torn clothes into the trash. They set the arrows in a bag to be tested and set it on a nearby table.
Melvin's breath was shallow. He wasn't dead or close to unconsciousness, but he didn't feel like he'd be skipping any day now. It was then that he registered Cass there. "Hey..." He took a few more breathes. "Thanks....for....defending me." He might have been dead if she didn't step in.

"So long as you understand that," Ariane replied, sounding a little too cheerful as she grinned, "So, you want to be a spy for us? Or are you just against the horsemen, hm? I'll be honest with you - if we get the opportunity later, let's talk~ I have a few things I'm pretty curious about due to previous experiences with you... Students."
She wasn't sure what to call them anymore.
'Shut up.'
She might also had given Gale another 'we need to talk' looks.

Amphi nodded as she came closer to the cot for the hunter and looked around. "Hello again Wash, It has been a long time." She looked to the female hunter next to Wash, when she didn't attack, Amphi relaxed and pulled some sort of crate to sit next to the hunter.
"I'm sorry for the troubles that you had faced. I couldn't be there to take you from the horseman lair though you risked everything to help me...from this place." A questioning look was sent to Amphi before she looked back at Wash.
"But that's...." She flushed, "I came here to offer my help to the hunters. To you. So that the horseman will not kill you and your friends." She bit her lip, "I don't want to be a weapon, I just...want to help." She wasn't sure how but seeing the sheer amount of hunters injured...
While Horseman had used and abused, and even after their race had been destroyed...they had done worse.
They couldn't be blind to the war anymore, and innocents would and should not be caught up. Amphi just wanted to make sure that was the case.
"Although, I am not sure how your superiors will feel about me returning."

"Understood." Cass consented, carefully looping one of the trainee's arms over her shoulder as she carefully moved, readying herself to stand. "You don't have to thank me for doing that, Melvin. It's just what I do." she replied, her other arm moving to wrap around his torso to work on keeping him righted. "I'm just glad you're doing alright." Her idea of 'alright' was pretty warped, but.... her standard of comparison was skewed as well.
"Now, do you think you can walk?" she inquired. "I'd try and carry you to the infirmary, but that might end poorly for both of us." it wasn't actually a joke either. She would have just carried him if her shorter stature wouldn't have made that uncomfortable for her and painful for him.

Rising from the cot, he did know that if he was to walk to the Infirmary without anyone, the bloodloss would have him falling over barely a third of the way over. However, he could still walk. "Yeah. They didn't hurt my legs." Despite the horse trying to trample him to death. Maybe it was better the horse didn't come back to stomp on him after his shield broke.
That wasn't to say walking was easy. Despite his legs being fine, moving pulls on his ribs and hurt the various fresh arrow wounds he now had. He kept one arm over Cass' shoulders, though it was awkward due to how short she was. The other hand held his side. There was blood on his jacket. His blood. He wanted to take a shower and get it washed almost more than he wanted to fall asleep for a million years.

Eva wasn't sure what to make of this. Mei hadn't really been brought along intentionally...but what about all of these other students who were suddenly showing up? The pretty girl who was Mei's friend, the (adorable) dog that was clearly not just a regular dog, and...
...And a really big guy. Eep.
Eva turned to look at Mei, but noted that she seemed just as uncertain and puzzled at their presence as she was. When Gale mentioned Caelius, the young woman grimaced, automatically shifting a little closer to the doll ghoul. "I can't help but wonder what Caelius will say about all this," She grumbled, shifting uneasily, "Though this...wasn't some hidden part of the mission plan that I overlooked, was it?" She was pretty sure that "kidnap students" was not on the plans (this time), but it couldn't be a coincidence that there were four of them milling around.
...Well. "We'll keep you safe as we can," Eva added, offering Mei a smile and a friendly pat on the shoulder, "I'm not sure what's going to happen, but--"
She paused when she felt the blond reach out to momentarily grab her wrist, though she set her other hand on his for a moment before pulling away, lips curved in her usual optimistic smile. "Everything will be okay, right?"

If he'd been more touchy feely, he might have taken ahold of Mei's hand to steady her. But that also might have made her seem like she needed his assistance, and he knew she was capable enough to stand on her own.
His gaze slid sideways, first to Eva, and then to Ariane. Gale lifted his chin almost defiantly, as though to say I know what I'm doing - even if he didn't.
"Mei's a good person," he said quietly to her. "I trust her."
It surprised him a little, saying it, but it was true. He let his gaze move to the other creatures in the room.
"Them I don't trust," he said bluntly. "I'm sorry, Mei, if you know them, but I haven't talked - or seen anyone who has done anything to show their willingness to work with other than Mei, except maybe your boyfriend, and even then I'm not quite sure about him. She's healed us, she's talked to us rationally, she's proved herself to be level headed and thoughtful."
Gale shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head slowly. "I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to work with anyone other than Mei if she decides she wants to - as Ariane said, be spy for us."

Shut up.
He sighed a little and glanced at Eva.
"Everything will be okay."

"I was more wondering if you were up to the trek, but good to know." she sounded concerned still, watching him as she began the trek over to the infirmary. "If you'd like, I can get you a change of clothing later." she offered quietly. "Or a lot of wipes from the infirmary in the mean time." she laughed weakly - that had been meant as a joke, but she didn't sound really enthusiastic about the timing of it.
Cass walked a little bit more slowly than she would have on her own, keeping herself half-glued to Melvin's side in order to keep him upright and to keep herself from losing a grip on him, passing a glance over everybody else assembled in the meantime - she could see Kat was back, sighing with a little relief, but she could also notice... them and she tried to not grimace about it.

He moved along, a slow shuffle but he tried not to lean too much on Cass. He was worn and tired, but he still felt a reluctance to be this close to anyone. At her offer, he regarded Cass a moment. Did he want her in his room? Her good demeanor however gave evidence that she probably wouldn't fiddle about, but giving her a list of things when she was probably tired was asking too much. It was a far off concern at the moment. Just thinking about getting to the Infirmary seemed like a overwhelming task.
"No. That's fine. I'm.." He took another deep breath, but decided that was a bad idea when his muscles pulled. "I'll get to it." He'd find someone.
When she looked away, his eyes followed her gaze and his grip on Cass' shoulder tightened slightly. "What are they doing here?"

He gave Ceres a small nod when she came over, grinning lightly at her attempt to lighten the mood. She did look a little like a mummy, actually...
He put a little more pressure on her hand, rubbing his thumb over it, not quite knowing what else to do to comfort the poor girl. Just let her cry it out, years of chick flicks had told him. Let her cry it out and don't try to fix it - because he couldn't fix it. They were dead, and no one could fix that.
At Jerry's offered words, Lex turned and gave him a small smile. He didn't know how much hopeful words would help Kat, but at least Jerry was trying to help.
"...." He sighed, still making small circles on the back of Kat's hand with his thumb.

"Alright. I'm sure you'll be able to take off your jacket and the like once we're there, though." Cass didn't seem to mind that her offer for further help was turned down - it had only been an offer, after all. "And I'll still grab some wipes or something for you once we're there."
His question about the Halloween students prompted a light shrug on her part, before she looked back to him. "I haven't the foggiest. I know some of them were helping out on our side against the Horsemen, but..." Well.. she actually couldn't imagine why they would be there willingly. "Unless they're here to become weapons, I can't think of anything."

Rubbing at the tears with the back of her hand, she scanned the crowd, finding Jerry. Allan said that..? Well.. it did sound like something he would say. Nodding, she sniffed, drooping her head slightly. "O-okay.." Gawd, when did she become such a cry baby? She knew that hunters died on the job all the time, but.. she never would have expected to bawl her eyes out like she was now.
"Sorry.." She murmured to Lex and Ceres. Jerry was right. She had to have faith.

"Excuse me, coming through." A relatively small Death Hunter wearing a specialist emblem around one arm - a relatively simple sword crossed with two scythes - wove through a veritable wall of Moon Hunters arguing about bandage supplies, and another group of Extremely Sad Sun Hunters that looked more like sad puppies than anything else, bee-lining towards Herryk. She rolled her eyes. Suns.
"Oh there you are, sorry about-" Silence. She diverted her attention slowly from Herryk towards the multitude of Halloween students standing in the middle of the training fields like this happened every day. "Mark, I swear to god if this is one of those live prototype golem testing things-"
"-It wasn't me!" Perhaps it was almost creepy that Mark was actually there, just sort of lingering in the background. Creeping. A bushy head popped out from an assortment of Runic tech running in the background. "That isn't my field man, after I got kicked out, and all because I wanted to see if we could install panti-"
-"That's very nice," she interrupted, pushing back some strands of hair that was already falling out from her barrette. Okay well, there were a couple of Death Hunters. One other specialist, actually she was pretty sure she recognized him from the extremely short list of Caelius's Favourites to Wail On, second only to Mark. "You're, Gale right?" She thumbed towards the students, "Please tell me you filled out a form for those, you know we're only allowed one correspondence at a time not to mention, now that I think back on things, hmm.. oh yes, it's coming back to me now: I'm pretty sure I am the specialist in charged of weapons conversion." A pause. "Sam by the way. That's short for you are screwed."

Wash just listened, still touching his throbbing head tentatively.
"Wasn't your fault, now," he admonished gently. She was just a kid, just a high school student - she couldn't know what she was saying. Offering. "You could get in a lot 'a trouble, jus' bein' here, you know. Weaponization aside." He shook his head, which made his vision swim, and he winced.
"It's not...safe," he added finally, after spending a few moments collecting himself. "I can't say our superiors are gonna be any more gentle than they were last time. Besides," he gestured to the tent at large. "This is what ya get for tryin' t' help - a body count."
His words were harsh, but they were delivered in a gentle rumble. "Y'all are...awful young, to be puttin' yo'self in the line of fire."
And there were so many of them, too. It made his head and heart ache to see it.
Sasha let out a soft grumble at Stormy's approach, rubbing her temple with her fingers while smiling at the younger trainee, all without opening her eyes.
"I'm fine. I just need a moment to wait for this headache to wear off before I get up and start helping the others."
