- Staff post - The cat only managed a swipe at the buck before she was attacked from every direction, taking kicks and bites she couldn't even return. Too many, there were just too many. Yowling in frustration, she shot out of the barn and towards the house, though promptly turned right around and ran somewhere else when she saw that the dog was loose. ----------------------------------------- Althea's sides heaved in weariness, which made her jump all the more when she heard the food bin come tumbling down. Grain and the like spilled across the barn's floor, though much of it looked like corn and other things not very easily carried or useful.
She looked around and took quick stock. It was time to run, and fast.
"OUT! OR BY FRITH I'LL RIP OFF YOUR EARS!"
She jumped into the hutch itself and tossed the three stragglers out, kicking them towards the barn door in her haste to get everyone moving.
"That includes your cushiony tails, not get moving before the farmer gets here!"

"You heard the lady!" the doe with the scarred neck shouted. "We're leaving! Now! You in the hutch, this is your last chance." With a flash of her tail, she bolted down the ramp and out the door and towards the down, drumming her tail and calling to the others. "Follow me, follow me! Watch out for the farmer and don't stop moving!" She turned to glance back to see if the others were following her, then charged straight ahead into the night. Inlé take the snares, dogs, cats, and farmers. Inlé take this stupid farm. She'd lead them to the minimum safe distance, then wait for Althea and let them catch their breath. She was good at hiding, and new some thick shrubbery near the edge of the farm where a dog couldn't get at them and a farmer couldn't see them. It wasn't too far to the down from there, either. That's where they'd go.

 Blackbirch nearly made a proclaim of victory as the cat made a beeline out of the barn. Defeated, scared and no one appeared too injured because of her attack! But the victory wiggles would come later.
He melded in with the group as they made a run for it, slowly falling towards the back of the mass to ensure they all made it. They did all make it, right?
He began a headcount as they ran, recounting again as they made it into some bushes outside the farm.

Coal grinned when Althea turned out to be just fine and jumped in the hutch with him and threw the stragglers out by their ears. He hopped out o the hutch then headed for the door. "Lets go everyone!" He picked up his carrot and then used the the skills he'd learned in the races to run back to the warren. It would be good it see it again. He hoped everyone was following.

 Talltale felt the barrel shift and eventually fall over. There was a large and very loud clatter as it went, spilling out its spoils. Moving out of the way, heeding the calls to the Owsla in charge. He wasn't about to leave without something to show for his effort.

 Mud slammed into the barrel once more knocking it over. She nosed through it as fast as she could with the other two picking out what she could that was useful. She heard the cat yowl but didn’t look up instead she picked up what she could and ran past the others and out the barn door. She stilled for a moment. “The DOG IS LOOSE.” She called as best she could around the food in her mouth before she started towards the warren. Leading others along and trying her best to usher them as fast as she could. “MOVE.” She gripped at the others, though she was careful to pay attention to where they were going.
 Ani gathered what she could before shooting out of the barn and across the field like there was no tomorrow. Running at full speed to get out of the way, and leading the others toward safety.

All four rabbits hustled along, following as they were led away, though scared to death as they heard a gunshot.

 Trillium chased after Lamb's Ear, fleeing and trying to shepherd the hutch rabbits as he went.

Lamb zigged and zagged as she darted over the field. She could see the hutch rabbits at the edge of her peripheral vision. There was Charcoal; there was some speed in him yet! There was the dark buck who'd helped with the hutch rabbits, helping string them along. Where were the other does? It was too dark for her to see that far, and she definitely couldn't make out Althea's bulk. Frith above, let the Owsla-Marli get out safe!

Grabbing what he could manage, Talltale headed out with the rest of them. Stopping every now and again he followed behind the rest of the team. he was ready to regroup with the rest and get back to the down.

Coal grinned as he ran. Yup, he still loved running and he'd done good tonight, proven he wasn't useless. Maybe it was time to head back the warren and be useful. Now there was a change. At least he'd be warm for the winter. He looked back and smiled at the four rabbits being herded alone. He was even happy with the carrot in his mouth.
