Muka's next step was to make the icing. Complicated things like mixing ingredients were not his forte. He tossed them together, started to stir, spaced out a little because everything looked delicious, went back to stirring, and then became bored with it.
It ended up more of a glaze. As long as it tasted good, who cares!

Who needs fancy decorations? Muka made little to no effort in decorating his cupcakes. He put a chocolate Hiss on top of each one and that was all. SOMETIMES SIMPLE IS BETTER OKAY. FINAL SCORE: 49

Amarus recognized Junko upon sight, having encountered her before in passing (and of course because of her prominent role at the school), but initially it was Xiu she'd come to support-- not because of any kind of planning, really, just in the back of her mind when she found out about Spirit Week and the Baking Club and all, she knew she'd want to come over for that.
So she did. And was incredibly relieved to see that next to Xiu there was a fire extinguisher. "Xiu," she greeted, somewhat abruptly, and bowed to the baku. She smiled a little, subtly, happy to see her. "May I... sign up for your baking club? I would like that. Even if I am not very good at, ah, baked foods."
She eyed the cupcake game, and thought about it. "Speaking of baked foods, I think since you are next to a fire extinguisher, I would really like to attempt to conquer a cupcake?" She trailed off, wandering over towards the ingredients. Show time!
She felt her nerves quicken, preparing to do battle with cupcakes.
Amarus eyed the recipe, and decided that chocolate was her choice this time. It would hide it better if she burned them, right? Hah...haha... Yeah. That would never happen!...
Actually, this time it didn't. The cupcakes turned out perfectly moist and fluffy. Amarus beamed down at them, like she had just made them do a particularly formidable trick, before she looked up to where she thought Xiu might be to smile widely.

Next up: icing. Amarus looked around, to try to spot anyone who might be at a similar step, but found her timing rather off. She was going to have to go in alone. Well, if it had worked previously, perhaps the instructions would work well again? After all, if she had somehow managed to mix the initial chocolate batter and make THAT work for her, surely she could do this?
On the bright side, she could not set icing on fire.
As far as she knew. She looked over to Xiu again, as if imploring: Cupcake icing is not flammable, is it? She followed the recipe, as carefully as she could, but still making a couple mistakes. Okay, well, at best it would be what the recipe said it would be.
"HAH," Amarus accidentally exclaimed, upon tasting a sample of icing which she assumed was the correct consistency. It was totally edible. She beamed at her icing, and her cupcakes.

Suddenly, Amarus recalled the time on Conquest's isle when she'd been made to wear a ceremonial dancing garb and had not even made it to the dancing part-- she had tripped and fallen on her own face. Fanciness was not Amarus' forte.
And now it was time to ice and decorate her pretty moist cupcakes. Why could they not be eaten plain?? In fact, Amarus left a single cupcake with no icing, because she wanted at least one untainted sample of her good work.
Something marvelous and strange happened, once she had applied the basic icing using some kind of squeeze tube and a flower-shaped attachment: all of those feelings she didn't know how to handle, all of the pain and the discomfort and the confusion of lacking her complete inner calm... she put the discord onto a cupcake, and it was beautiful, in a potentially upsetting kind of way. She even found something sharp and small to cut into some chocolate, creating a lotus shape to decorate each one. She used the shavings to dust around the lotus. Each one received a drizzle of red glaze, a product of watering her spare icing down. Perhaps she had absorbed more from watching than she had thought, or perhaps this was just a rare occurrence, but she felt better at the end.
And she hadn't ruined her cupcakes. She did not, however, decorate that one last cupcake, ever: it was beautiful to her, still, because she felt most like that one plain cupcake. She brought one of the fancier ones over to Xiu, like a very small ghoul presenting success to someone she wanted to make proud, and held it up: "I did not even need the fire extinguisher," she said.

OH OH. Cupcakes.
Mayaa was absolutely amazing at making exploding cupcakes during Fright Night (if tossing pre-made cupcakes into a cauldron counted as making) so surely she already had a knack for this, right?
... RIGHT?
Well... at least they wouldn't need the fire extinguisher, unless mush was combustible.

Leaving behind a trail of dust, Tseng came to a screeching halt as he came upon another booth. This one was for baking. Or something along those lines. Yes. He should support this! It is a part of SPIRIT WEEK! HE WOULD SHOW EVERYONE JUST HOW MUCH SPIRIT HE HAS.
Now what was he supposed to do here. Ah! MAKING CUPCAKES.
"EXTREME CUPCAKE MAKING!" he shouted while furiously throwing together ingredients and throwing it all into the oven.
It came out a little rubbery, but still pretty good over all.

"NOW FOR EXTREME ICING!"
Tseng's icing was a little too extreme. He pretty much covered the entire cupcake with it, basically making it a glaze more than anything else. It didn't deter him in the slightest, however, and he moved on to the next part swiftly.

"NOW FOR THE FINAL TOUCHES."Tseng threw on things to decorate his cupcake. It was uh. A little special. To say in the very least. But the horseman was rather proud of his creation nonetheless. Taking it, he presented it to Xiu. "TAKE THIS! MY MAXIMUM. EXTREME. CUPCAKE!"Points: 46

And... then she was supposed to go wild with decorating? Xiu was going to regret this.
When she was done, it was a goopy mess of icing and sprinkles and whatever she could get her hands on. "Look Xiu, look!" She showed off her creation proudly. "Isn't it pretty?!"
The cupcake may or may not of still been bubbling.

Something marvelous happened. As Amarus was presenting her cupcake to Xiu, she could vaguely hear some sort of shouting going on, but largely ignored it. And then... the source appeared. Tseng. And his cupcake was... not as pretty as hers! She stared at his cupcake, then back at her own, and back at his again.
And she started to laugh. "On this day, my honour has been restored!" she declared. She didn't even know if he would remember "defeating" her on the dance floor, in their combat-like dance moves, but she felt positively glowing to know that she had, in her eyes, redeemed herself.
Through a cupcake no less.

And then things suddenly got really busy as a rush of students entered to bake. The room will quickly filled with a sweet scent, the sound of utensils clanking together, and Tseng's extreme yelling. Despite all the noise, Xiu seemed quite content, leaning her cheek in the palm of her hand as she watched everyone work.
When the first person from the new group came up to show her their work, the baku smiled, taking in Eisheth's creation with an approving nod. "It looks good!" She chirped cheerfully, "Just be a little more careful not to leave it in the oven for too long, and a little less liquid in your icing! You did well, though!"
She turned to look at Amarus then, her eyes widening with delight as she took in the other ghoul's cupcake. "Amarus, that's gorgeous!" She squeaked, beaming at the ghost, "You're amazing!" And she...she wanted to join the club? The baku was more than happy to hand the clipboard over to her, her tail wagging as she turned to look at Tseng next. Her ears may have instinctively drooped a bit at his yelling, but he earned a bright laugh from her for his enthusiasm.
"It is very extreme," She agreed with a grin, reaching out to give it a gentle poke. Looking sneaky, she lowered her voice to a conspicuous whisper, "Don't tell anyone, but to be honest, I think that it's the most extreme cupcake that I've seen yet!" Xiu gave him a thumbs up before finally turning to Mayaa as she approached her.
"Hi, Mayaa! Aah--I like all the colors!" She grinned at the cupcake that the ghoul held, leaning forward to look at it. Was it...er, bubbling? The baku blinked in surprise, and then laughed. "Just a little longer in the oven next time! I really do like all the colors though!"
Baking was Xiu's favourite hobby ever and she was more than happy to spend this time watching and helping others bake.

Tseng... Who was still wearing nothing but a sweater and his underwear.. and who still had a sun-colored flame upon his forehead thanks to his purchase from Medea.... recoiled as Amarus declared her victory over him. NO! HOW COULD HIS EXTREME COOKING HAD FAILED? "AAAAH! I KNEW YOU WOULD ALWAYS BE A WORTHY RIVAL! DESPITE MY DYING WILL TO CELEBRATE THIS WEEK I HAVE BEEN BESTED!"Pausing, he turned towards Xiu, beaming at her whispered into his ears. "AHA! SUCCESS!!"
