This was like a game where almost everyone loses, Shine decided. Of course, that's exactly what a room of traps was, but that didn't quite occur to her. She sidestepped carefully around something that looked kind of traplike, catching her foot under a stone.

Aymet had smoothly moved his way into the center of the maze.
Of course it had fire in it.
OF COURSE.
He didn't get a very good look at any of the treasure. He made one swipe before getting the heck out of there.

This time, so was Shine. She'd brought an entire messenger bag full of candy, slung over her shoulder. She constantly the sugary treats into her mouth, nodding along as Aymet led the way.

When the shadow appeared again, Aymet was totally focused. And Shine's mouth was full so she couldn't cry. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.

It appeared that the memory of whatever lived here didn't like her candy-eating very much. Shine found herself staring down another one of those weird shadow things, which hung ominously just above her head.
She stopped eating.
"Shorry...." she tried. The thing didn't seem to accept her apology.

When the shadow got a little too close, Shine elbowed it with a frown. It probably wanted to steal her candy. Couldn't trust anyone with her candy.

They might have made a good exploration team, but Shine and Aymet were clearly not meant to go into battle together.
