And as these trips out normally went the battling began. Mitsu could only stand to the back horrified as the Hunters were given their orders. She shook her head trying to back up and away from everyone but a sudden shout caught her attention. The order to get down.
She didn't have time to properly react before she found herself being pushed to the ground, feet sweeping passed her. As she looked up she saw the boogeymen from earlier creating a blockade of sorts. Would it be enough?
A flash of light caught her attention and Mitsu froze like a hollow deer in headlights. She couldn't move, couldn't react, it was only lucky that one of the boogeymen had lingered behind. They jumped in at the last moment, blocking the attack and dragging the Hunter back into the fog.

It didn't take long for more students and hunters to filter in, and Poke kept a keen eye on any hunters that dared to come even close. She was near enough Mitsu and Shunt to see how distressed Mitsu was, and for good reason. There were also others around; a certain were mantis had the dragon feeling...nervous. She could not see Frost or Danny as of yet. This could be a very good, or a very bad sign.
And, oh joy, guess who else turned up. One of the hunters shot a powerful blast towards the canon wall making her duck, and judging from the way the others drew their weapons when he ordered them to kill, he must of been the leader.
The dragon gazed around the crowd, watching for any hunters that may have come her way. But as she prepared for the possibility, a voice screamed over the babble. Being quick to duck, she felt pure and utter satisfaction at the boogeymen whom were, amazingly, still doing their job. And the professors were her as well. They had some backup now.
As she watched, a figure came dangerously close to knocking her over, but just stopped short. Before she had a chance to say a thing, the boogemen said a few strange words, and was gone into the fray. Poke realized it must of been some sort of spell, as she felt a little better now.

At long last, he finally heard her. With a sigh of relief he turned to see her weaving through the crowd towards him. Thank God. He had beginning to think he had lost her along the way.
"Over here, Saya." He called, waving his arm to get her attention. Just as another approached.
"Wilson!" So he made it here as well. That was a relief. Maybe they were all being led here after all. "You both alright?" He asked, looking them over for any injuries. However he stopped with the appearance of the death lead.
"Kill?" He repeated the word, confused. Not capture, not disable, but kill?
Not wanting to disobey a direct order, the moon trainee summoned his weapons, just as the boogeymen arrived, and prepared for the inevitable battle about to begin.

"GET DOWN!"
Obeying the order, the black dog dropped to the ground almost immediately. Finally! Some allies to back them up!His relief was put on hold, however, as something caught his attention from the corner of his eye. A soft glow, which was growing brighter and more vibrant by the second.
Hunter!
Startled, the black dog scrambled to get to his feet. He had just managed to dodge the first strike when suddenly a large flash of colour rushed at them, overtaking the hunter and dragging them back into the fog again.

Oh s**t. What’s happening? The varcolac wasn’t sure, but it seems everyone either hit the floor or are rushing to fight the hunters. What in Jack’s name is going on? Maybe it wasn’t time to ponder such a thing, maybe it was time to run. However, something caught the corner of his eye.

He would have thanked them, but they had already ran off to keep the hunters at bay. However, Clyde did seem a little bothered by the heal...he wasn't injured at all, so why? 8|

A flash of blue light was all Shun saw for a moment before he spotted the Death lead. There was also something... familiar about their surroundings. He felt like he had been here before. Though, he didn't think too hard on it right now as the order to kill all the students was given. Gripping onto his daggers tightly, he hissed a curse under his breath. Typical of the hunters.
But then there was an order to hit the deck. Dropping down quickly, he saw flashes of color zoom over head. Looking up, he saw boogeymen and professors charging in to engage.
"Che.."
He didn't know how to feel about the former coming in for the aid, but now was not the time to be questioning these things. Speaking of them, one nearly came slamming into him before throwing some sort of spell at him. If he had been injured at all, he would have felt better, but... he was already in prime condition as far as his body was.
"Useless.." he muttered under his breath. Getting up, he turned towards Mitsu, "Stay close. Keep a sharp eye out. You may want your ears too. No matter what, we are getting out of this alive. Together. Do you hear me?"
He paused briefly to look around, trying to get a feel of who else was in the fog. He could see Xiu off in the distance with Yin. Mot was there as well. For a moment, he grimaced. Mot had fallen through when it came to these things before, but he had to leave it to him to keep an eye out for his little sister right now. Poke was also nearby, as well as a number of other students. Some he didn't even recognize.
"Mot! Keep Xiu safe," he called out to the cowboy.

He had slowly wandered the mist. He had seen familiar shapes, familiar figures, but had hesitated in approaching.
'They don't want to see you, of course they don't, they'd rather you were gone. They all hate you.' The litany would not stop, and he found it very easy to accept.
And then, suddenly....
There were Hunters and they were attacking.
"GET DOWN"
He found the command easy to obey, dropping to the ground.
'Useless as usual.'
He stood back up, prepared to fight...and then there was a flash, and pain. A stray shot. Nowhere near as bad as his previous encounter when stumbling through the fog, but ow.
"Thank you Miss Xiu-Ying," he murmured, though really, no matter how many times he was told that it was not his fault he would blame himself if no one else did. But all too soon she was looking over, spotting someone else, saying a name that...well he was glad to hear simply because it meant that the zomboil was alright. The ghoul left him and he stayed where he was, figuring that there was no reason to press things, but then she was bringing the zomboil back with her.
He could feel the gaze on him, a simple glance confirmed that Alexander was looking at him before his gaze slid to the side at another familiar voice. Mot. There was a genuine sense of pleasure to know that the cowboil was fine and he nodded to him. He had been there when Yin had needed a friend and he wanted the older student to stay safe.
But then Alexander was there, the whispered question lingering in his ears. Was he okay? He had felt something oddly like...that...earlier, a strange possessiveness. Voices. But not saying home, and now that he had descended the stairs they had faded somewhat. "I believe so...and you? You are well?" He could not help but rake his eyes down the zomboil's body, searching for any unusual shades of grey.
And then chaos. Yells to get down, hunters and boogeymen colliding. A flash of color, a hunter, and then it was being taken out by a boogeyman. He thought he even saw a professor and then Fear began to take root. Nurse Cricket could be out there. Being attacked. He switched his focus back to the surroundings, he had to be ready for a fight.
At first, Deryk was actually a little relieved to see Caelius. That was, until he ordered them all to kill all the students. The death trainee's eyes widened for a moment. What? Quickly, he looked back towards the mass of students. Why did it always have to lead to this? Before he could really do much of anything, more figures came flooding out of the fog and after all the hunters. Many of them were cloaked, but not all of them. The horsemen? That didn't seem entirely likely.
With Tooley out before him, he looked over the rest of the ones from Halloween. He didn't want to fight them.. at least without knowing why. Couldn't the students help somehow? Unless there was something more to this that Caelius wasn't telling them.
Which was entirely possible too.
But orders were orders. He felt a sort of sickening feeling within the pit of his stomach. The voices whispered to him, telling him that he really wasn't cut out for this.

Mot smiled with relief and held Xiu tightly in a hug, letting her go as she pulled back. "You came in after me?" Mot asked in surprise, feeling a little touched. He smiled warmly and patted her head. "I'm sorry I worried you. Thank you, though. The reason I went through was..."
He trailed off as the scenery shifted to something horridly familiar. Soon after, Boogeymen came to help out, though they were barely visible in the chaotic fog.
He swallowed back any cowardice that always tried to worm its way up inside. No.. he mustn't give in to such weak thoughts...
Shun's voice broke through, and Mot gave a determined nod.
"Stay close, Xiu." Mot murmured. "Let's protect each other, okay?"

Home? The whisper caught Zhi offguard, and he immediately dropped Jay back down to her feet, hovering over her defensively as a number of voices began to swirl around them, yelling, crying, whispering in their ears...
"Jay, don't--"
The Conquest Horseman never got the chance to finish, his words dying in his throat as the fog cocooned around him. One moment, he was in a large room filled with other people, and then next, he was alone.
And home.
This is an illusion. This is an illusion, and you should look away, and--
There was suddenly laughter and the sound of two sets of footsteps running over wooden bridges. Taking a few steps forward, Zhi peered out from the shade of the gazebo, his gaze immediately drawn towards two figures in the distance. He knew those figures...and he knew this scene. It had just been a normal, lazy spring day, and while he had held no great importance to this scene back then...well, when you lost someone dear to you, every memory of them became important.
"Grandma, come on!" The child urged, motioning for her to hurry up, "Zhiqiang is this way!"
The older horsewoman sighed as she made her way over the bridge, taking careful, deliberate steps as she followed after the much more lively and excitable child, "I'm coming, I'm coming. What is the rush, anyways?"
"Zhiqiang promised to let me help with pranking Tseng today!"
Another sigh. "Your cousin is a terrible influence on you, you know..."
And so the conversation continued. It was not a special conversation, or even an interesting one...but perhaps it was that very ordinary, light-hearted nature of the scene that captured Zhi's heart the most. There had once been a time when his life was carefree, devoid of all these worries about Hunters and revenge, but now...
...Well, for now, he would simply allow himself to be lost in the memory of his past.

Xiu returned Mot's smile with one of her own, but it was quickly wiped from her face when she heard the yelling. At the sharp order to get down, the baku immediately did as she was told, fingers curling around Mot's jacket to yank him down as well. Not unexpectedly, the Hunters suddenly decided it was time to go on the offensive...but at the very least, the students weren't left to fend for themselves. When she pushed herself back to her feet, the baku was surprised to see not only Boogeymen, but professors joining in on the fight as well.
...And this place, this scenery, it was...
There wasn't much time to dwell on that though. Xiu noticed something from the corner of her eye, but when she realized what it was, she was much to slow to avoid it. She winced as the arrow grazed past her, her hand automatically flying up to clutch at the shallow cut on her arm. It was nothing serious, at least.
"Aniki, Mitsu, please be careful! Yin Cang, Alex, take care of yourselves!" Turning back to look at Mot then, she pressed her lips together in a thin line and nodded. Time for another fight.

Roch ducked, but it was more of a crouch than a hitting the floor. He had his guitar ready and was standing as much as he could between Amphi and the hunters--
Then he stared blankly at a large blotch of color. "Wh--what?" he said, confused. There were smaller colors joining it, but this was a pretty much black and white/gray setting--where would the color have come from?
For that matter, where the JACK had the boogeymen came from? Had they been there they entire time?
Then the color was gone. The punk boil was confused as all get out.

Alexander waited for the answer, scared of what it would be. Despite what had happened between them in the past, he just couldn't stop worrying over Yin, wondering if he was okay. What had happened when Yin had been consumed by the insanity....it had been horrible, and would likely haunt him forever. Even now he could practically feel it all happening again. The warmth of Yin's skin beneath his hands just before he had jerked his face around, snapping his neck. His eyelids fluttered closed, a feeling of nausea beginning to roil within him.
"Good...good. I'm glad." He let out a sigh, before letting his eyelids open once more so that he could answer Yin's question.
"I don't know." That was the best answer he could give. He didn't know if he was well at all. "I don't think I have..what you had, if that's what you mean." He hadn't heard any voices, hadn't had any patches of grey break out on his skin...just the paranoia, and even that seemed more dulled then before.
Of course, their little reunion would be interrupted, and in the worst way. Shouting, a flash of blue light, and hunters, always hunters. Tired as he was of everything that had been happening, he actually welcomed the anger that now boiled up within him, his eye narrowing as he turned away from Yin, and his hands closing into fists.
"Stay with me?" His voice was a growl, but still questioning, not wanting to force Yin to be in his company if he'd rather not. "We'll do better if we stay together..." Funny how those words could have been used outside of battle and mean something very different.
More shouting from another part of the room, and colors. Boogeymen. Alexander instinctively crouched down as they flew over head, but he didn't completely flatten himself to the floor.
A flash of color out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, and he turned towards it, arms already raising in defense as a hunter came charging towards him, only to be taken out by another flash of color, a boogeyman.
That had certainly been close....

His head felt full of thoughts and order to dissipate the students left him with mixed feelings. All of the mixed feelings. He sought out through the crowd who to swipe at first and his eyes landed upon an eyepatched youth. His expression became grim when he recognized who he stood with but that didn't change at all. It changed nothing.
Summoning his weapons he suddenly barreled forward ignoring everything else going on around him. He'd follow orders and not because of fright but because the punishment was usually a heavy dose of pain followed by more pain. He was tired of pain.
